Pardon me for asking, but I was looking around and I don't believe there are any avenue interchanges in this game.  There are highway interchanges and plenty of them but not sure about the former.  Someone prove me wrong or put it in the game please.

io_bg

There are a few avenue interchanges in the NAM :)

@ io_bg: Avenue interchanges? In the NAM? Is there something that I've been missing? Or are you talking about roundabouts?

If it's a good idea, go ahead and do it. It's much easier to apologize than it is to get permission.

There are two (or maybe even more, I don't remember) avenue interchanges - Y-splitter and diamond interchange ;)

I know about the roundabouts, but I wouldn't trust a roundabout for heavy traffic usage.  I don't think I've ever seen a diamond interchange for an avenue.  I'm looking for a four way interchange for avenues that can handle heavy traffic loads.

Did you think about using the RHW and its MIS? Or are you looking distinctly for a one-plop puzzle-piece interchange?

Oh I was looking for a plop piece interchange,  but I'm not sure if I've ever found one.  If there is a ploppable interchange can someone provide a picture of one?  I've seen people make them manually but that seems complicated to me.

There is the Y stack and the avenue - road diamond interchange, found near the end of the Avenue Roundabout/Curves button.

A Y interchange is kind of like a T- intersection though and only provides for a three way intersection.  I just wonder if there is a four way interchange for avenues that is ploppable.  Someone mentioned a diamond interchange, what does that look like?

Here's a picture showing the available avenue intersections and the menu where they're located: (click on the thumbnail to see the full resolution)

At the top is the diamond interchange and at the bottom is the Y-stack. Don't worry to ask if you still have questions

Thanks a lot guys,  I appreciate the help.

That diamond interchange looks good but it looks like a road over an avenue so it's pretty close to what I want.  My ideal situation would be avenue over an avenue  but I'll have to stick with that ploppable I think.

Actually making a two-grade avenue intersection with the help of the RHW (as joelyboy911 suggested) won't be quite hard. Here's an example:

Yes, it takes more space, but is more realistic. And it took me about 1-2 minutes to make it.

Or you could plop a ground highway avenue diamond interchange to connect two avenues together.  Just convert one to ground highway for the junction.  It doesn't look as good as the RHW junction io_bg made but it is more compact.

I found some old Av-Av full interchanges, maybe they give you some ideas or two. Yes, they take space, but grade separated interchanges are always spaceous in reality.  ;)
