My job is almost exclusively the creation of addons for the VIP team, but sometimes I want to get some fresh air.
This topic is dedicated to my BATs not that last for many months, as can some projects of the team.
I will first start with a building still in the process of structural work.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm05.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2011%2F10%2F31%2F111031020015846488981421.jpg&hash=754393f072a5c4d2897feca6a655b443b4ac3e3d)
Orange
seems very promising ::)
I agree with my friend Girafe... promising, but what's this? A parking?
Guillaume
great start Orange, I think this is a parking. ;)
I think it's the concrete structure of a building that is now waiting for interior and a (glass?) facade. It will contain offices. Isn't it?
Looks very promising.
Looks great, I think i've already seen a building like that in Paris..
Wow! your work is always impressive, but...What it would be? a parking? $%Grinno$%
My friends, the carpenter is installing the frames, I'm afraid this is not a parking.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm05.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2011%2F10%2F31%2F111031095630846488986474.jpg&hash=6e09f07f213d80ed148209bb27db15be8c141aaf)
;)
Looks awesome!!! &apls
I had wondered if it was a parking ramp too ;)
Ah, you're showing us the construction of this building as it was real... that's why we just see concrete! $%Grinno$% I'm waiting for the painting with impatience!!
Guillaume
a giant guinea fowls coop ::)
Scirius, you're on the right track.
Thank you all. My craft work well, they come to install ... (I do not know how to say in French, then English is worse ...) let's say extensions.

A Very nice one ! :D
Well I don't know what it is , but knowing your taste for modern & strange architecture , and knowing your BATing skill , it will be a masterpiece , with no doubt ...
Cédric.
:P
After drilling the technical conduct of the machinery of the elevator (yes I know they could make a hole before), they are trying to break through the ventilation ducts

hmmm, they are working at 35h...
and put a flag you have the 00 bug :) (hé hé...)
35h Girafe? :D
I've got a question: what are the two men doing on the roof? Do they controll something?
It's still splendid btw!! &apls
Guillaume
ah ah... I can say this building is located in Germany, more exactly in Hamburg! ::)
Nice progress David.
Delecto: thin, I was discovered.
Thank you friends,
This is a test texture for the roof pozzolan, which is covered with sedum.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm06.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2011%2F11%2F03%2F111103014114846488999239.jpg&hash=72949021eb450987a1b0d9a8b4393f7322d75332)
;)
Edit : I think I put too much relief
Really a great looking building, and it's progressing excellently &apls
I won't hazard a guess as to what it is though. I guess the construction workers finished their work? They're not on the roof anymore :D
Well, after adjusting the bump, here I am again with a green roof for better appearance.
This texture was completely made in photoshop with 4 textures cgtexture, a gravel and 3 mosses and herbs.
At the same time here is a first test for windows, it is close enough to the look you want: blue glass with an important reflection.
The blue double effect, is that the windows of the building are composed of two panes separated by several feet.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm06.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2011%2F11%2F04%2F111104125945846489002345.jpg&hash=025d82a5f30d94f0941d38e45207090a147df4c9)
Yes, a big step forward was made in the construction of the building ... but I saw that the interest was less, so I abbreviate your suffering. :P
Absolutely awesome!
Very unique! I really love the glass ;D
Glass is top but I am not confident with the roof &Thk/(
I will try too to add an environment map for glass reflexions ::)
&apls
love the glass, but I have to agree with Girafe about the roof.
Look great, but I also agreed with the Girafe. ;)
Yeah, more futuristic stuff &dance &dance
This building is beautiful, but a greener roof and some solar panels could make it even more awesome. Something like this...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.thegrowspot.com%2Fgreen-roof%2Fcal_academy_roof.jpg&hash=bf97d7f8ad639662a07eadae082f92a3008e1ddf)
Oh! what a surprise! I was rather pleased with my roof ...
I probably misspoke. First ignore the white facade, it is not textured.
When you create a green roof, you have several solutions, how intensive, semi-extensive and finally extensive.
Intensive green roofs are made of a substrate that can go up 1 or 2m. They are suitable for planting trees and shrubs.
The roofs are made of semi extensive support of 15cm, and equipped with an automatic watering system, allowing the planting of grass, ivy, iris, small shrubs ...
The extensive roof, consists of porous materials on 10/15cm, but is not equipped with sprinkler system. plants are plants resistant to drought, type sedum. Periods of drought, often results in the death of some plants, but are quickly covered by other plants.
That is, you'll understand this latter solution was chosen on this building.
It allows a good retention of rainwater, reducing total maintenance.
Here is the preview of this type of roof:

You will notice that it is not beautiful. ;D
Now that you have more information, what do you think? &mmm
HS : This is the longest post that I wrote on SC4D &dance
Oh, now I get it. It's very nice to have a detailing organization in your mind when you're making the building. Now that I know what you exactly have in your mind, go on for it
When I lived in Hamburg, I passed several times near this building and thought: "this would be a nice BAt" Now You're doing it! &hlp
I think, the roof planting should be done like the one in the first pic of Your RL examples. The original isn't fitting to the rest of the building. In RL, nobody minds, because nobody has a look at it, but in SC4, the roof is seen the whole time. So this wonderful BAT merits a more beautiful roof vegetation tha the real one.
Knapp, my roof is not better than the original?
It is a pleasure Terring
Here are a few minor changes including the front and I applied a light texture to dirty the windows and at the foot of the building, adding also a aluminum angle on the top of the walls. This is to ensure a good seal.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm06.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2011%2F11%2F05%2F111105021059846489006204.jpg&hash=aee93b637ca8c908dd34dd1bfa6e92ca7dbd5697)
The black frame, can break the contrast between the white facade and green roof.
Here also the texture used

;)
Interesting details on the green roof! I'm really liking the way this whole bat is looking
Also, I don't need the roof too beautiful, I like it realistic ;)
It's an amazing work Dav', really awesome!! &apls &apls
Guillaume
I think the roof is a very convincing sedum roof. The aluminium strip is indeed important to keep the rainwater out of the interior. So I'd leave it there, altough it may be a bit less contrast. But is the facade not too white?

Knapp, my roof is not better than the original?
Oh sorry, it is a misunderstanding, perhaps because of my bad english &ops
Of course the roof like You did it is better than the original and the building deserves it like this.
Thank you very much,
I have not had time to work these days, just a little light this evening. I could not resist the urge to show a record of the first night ... there are many things to fix.
... and then it will fill the interior

hehe, looks good my small guinea fowl &apls &apls
Nice BAT,I liked its architeture!
&apls, dude, nice job on this, that hard work really paid off I bet...
I hope you don't mind me asking how you made your soil texture for the roof. I want to make a good texture for a building I am making. great job on it also it looks very nice :D
Thank you guys,
Harris, my roof has not convinced everyone, but I do not despair. :D
I could tell you how I do it with photoshop, but it would be difficult and without guaranteed results. So I preferred a remake, which is used as.
You can download the 3dsmax material and the Gmax textures on the STEX (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/files/file/26971-ecogreen-roof-texture/)
Good game.
Excellent work! &apls
Awesome building here. I'll be downloading. Not enough of this kind of work out there.

Ils sont Superbe!
Aesculus/Chesnuts ... what a (good) surprise ! &apls I've tested them right now in game , and the blooming livery is absolutely gorgeous ! On the other hand , the autumnal livery is too ... orange ;D ... I would have prefered something more « rusty » like Girafe did with his Oaks .
Speaking about Girafe , who was also working about Chesnuts , it seems that it's smelling here like a roasted Guinea Fowl flavor ! $%Grinno$%
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg822.imageshack.us%2Fimg822%2F2990%2Fpintade17.jpg&hash=3122df368e98fccd93c7f90016dad5fa395d0a2d)
That said , I can see a lot of progresses since your last trees so , If you need suggestions , I'm still waiting for (HD) Platanus , Fagus & and most of all Fraximus which are , with pines , almost the only trees to grow on high and harsh plateau(s)(?) like Aubrac .... ;D
Cédric.
More "rusty", ... sorry but the color is blazing aesculus early fall, and if it is tarnished As I preferred to pick the best part.
Moreover, it is a request from the community to bring some diversity to the colors of plants.
Girafe will make us also made beautiful with plants less dull.
I will study your application to plants of the Aubrac.
And a large Fagus for the gentleman of the table 12!

Incidentally for those who have not seen, Aesculus are available on the STEX pending LEX ...
Fagus yourself ;D
Looks good, I like this mossy texture on the trunk :)
You stay a little bit too staturated for me but it's a question of taste.
Anyway looks top
Amazing! :o

Thank you sir ! ;D

I have a request to you ;D Could you make some mediterranean trees like yours Cupressus and Pinus Nigra? ::)
Thank you very much, do you know that any such encouragement warms my heart?

After a hyperactive Fall 2011, the year 2012 began quietly for the VIP team.
We learned that Badsim would pause for reasons "real estate", and it is with sadness that Girafe has decided to focus on his real life.
This falls ill, because I too had projects other than SC4. I am doing such a website for the company.
I will therefore accelerate the completion of the Agripack, I'm sorry for your recent query.
The Aesculus and Fagus trees are absolutely beautiful but I'm having a bit of trouble with them showing up in the lots I added them to.
I was going to use the PM to make props but the PM doesn't see the models.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong ?
I'd really like to add these to some of my lots.
All the MMP created by VIPteam, are in "Flora" and not "Props" ;)
Yes. I know dat.
I thought that's what I stated.
What I want to know is why, when I add the "flora" to my lots in the LE, they don't show up in the game ?
I could really use help with this one as well! &hlp I started a project to relot many of my favorite non-growable lots to feature beautiful, seasonal VIP flora--but the flora only shows up in game ~5% of the time! Any advice?
Are you using seasonal flora?
If I'm not wrong and if this is the case, is not recommended to use seasonal flora in growable lots. And if the lots are ploppable, must be plop on 1rt of September, like the seasonal flora. You can read a large explanation here http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12571.0 (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=12571.0). Read Lowkee explanation to my post :)
Hope this help!
Thanks for your help Kergelen!
I am trying to use the seasonal flora, but only on lots that are not growable. Reading through your link did give me a lot better knowledge on the details of the seasonal flora works, including the exact acceptable days. I'll check if I've been placing the lots too late in September, but I have a feeling that something else is causing my problems.
I've had trouble with flora in LE in general, even when they aren't seasonal. They don't seem to like being close to each other, though I'm not sure if it is an Occupant Size issue or perhaps something in the Flora Parameters. Making the flora into timed props would be a better alternative, I would say.
oops sorry for my absence, and thank you Kergelen and Carl for having responded to my place.
MMPs are not a substitute case of seasonal props.
I'm just wondering, have you ever thought of putting some of your trees into a god mode controller? Since your trees are so high quality, and some of yuor trees are common across several regions in the world (eg: Your Fugas Tree that you made). With both a seasonal and evergreen option of course :P.
I was wondering if you would be interested in taking requests for trees. There are three I would be delighted to see...
Quercus velutina
Cornus florida
Tsuga canadensis
Thanks in advance for your consideration :)

It's nice of you, Guillaume. Normally I have everything I need, but if ever I need I will send you a PM.

This is beautiful! Simply beautiful.
Now shall I add them to the dependencies list of my still not finished farm pack or not? That's the question.... ()what() :-[ I'll think about it.
I did not really understand your problem &mmm
A new project of modern architecture, to modernize your business.

Well, my problem is: how long can the dependencies list be until everybody decides not to download the set? I got already about 25 dependencies for the set. So I could say: what the heck, I add one other. Or I could say: now it's enough I need to stop somewhere. That's my problem. You see?
The same goes for the Wheat by Gurafe (?). It's beautiful, But I got already some other wheat...
The Berlin project looks great!
Frank, I must confess I have not followed the development of your Lots, but I understand your problem better.
However, without assuming the success of Agripack, this should be a dependency "common".
Do you have a link to see your lots?
Here is a first report, to test volumes. The textures are provisional and modeling is not complete.
The texture of the building should be brighter.
The roof is vegetated and there are two statues bizarre : homunculus ...

Hi,
A link is on the bottom of all my posts: take a look at the "coop with Nexis" link. That is the one that shows the latest developments, although they are quite old at the time. I am waiting for Nexis to finish his props sets (also in this thread) until I can finish my lots. But you will get an idea of where I stand.
Your building is getting great! &apls
