As anyone who is familiar with my work would know, every now and then I take a break from Melbourne BATs and make something from outside Australia. This thread is to showcase those BATs in separate to my Melbourne BATs.
This is just a teaser today, I don't have anything new ready to show yet, but it's pretty close.
To start the thread off, here's a recap on my other International BATs.. and some clues to my next International BAT ;D

You blow my mind ! Amazing stuff
Beautiful stuff! I look forward to following this thread closely :)
I adore your work and the level of detail. I haven'y had a chance to use St. Paul's in Passau yet but I'm reworking some areas and intend to have it featured. I'll also be using a lot of your Melbourne buildings in a new business area.
I'm pleased you now have a non-Melbourne thread on SC4D and looking forward to following your work.
Oh my god, I just cant wait.. you have to tell us ;D
The..... Building? mmmm
Not in Australia? Southern Hemisphere? Art Deco?
Something out of Napier or Hastings, NZ?
I try: is it THE flatiron BuiLding ?
Gosh, I wracked my brain in failure trying to figure out the L, only to see that it was for "BuiLding" of all things!!!
Flatiron is not Art Deco, but...wait...*GASP*...*trembles*...
...The --R----R Building is!
Dare I say it? Could it really be?? With reddonquixote's modeling and lighting??? NO WAY!
SQEAL!!!
If it's what I think you're thinking it is, Odainsaker, that would be impressive indeed.
Can I have an H?
And a Y? :bnn:
Your St Paul's BAT is incredible :o
I think I got it. This will be incredible :bnn:
Please tell me it is what I think it is............... :D
good luck for that one ;)
If it is THAT building, then OMG! &apls
I know which on he`s talking about... :DAnd i`m sure i will like right....rrrrright "wink)
First thought it would be the "other" Maxis Art Deco Thing, but i`m more than happy with this one.......scream.
Spectacular work. The nightlighting is something I admire for both its aesthetic beauty and technical genius; it's not ever easy to pull of something that good! &apls
Really looking forward to seeing this develop. I know you'll do the building justice. How very exciting!
I like Art Deco skyscrapers!
Is it the Chrysler Building?
At least it fits in all the clues :P
For some reasons, some parts of the message didn't show up... :angrymore:
DEFINITELY THE CHRYSLER BUILDING AND THAT'S MY FINAL ANSWER!
Well, its been a long time between updates, I hope you didn't think this was going to be a dead-end thread $%Grinno$%
I'm pleased to say the modelling is now 100% complete and I'm slowly, but surely, starting on the textures.
Just to keep your interests piqued, here's a little preview of the grand entrance. More to come soon ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.com%2Fa%2Fimg538%2F9522%2FTyl0LL.jpg&hash=09847ccc1a61fb1b5dea464567bf9f34a88d0617)
This is going to be epic ;D
Is this still SimCity 4? &apls &apls &apls
Yes, wait a minute ... agree ... Is this still SC4? :) You know that for a SC4 BAT you don't need that much detail ... :D
Anyway, this is not going to be a great work. This is going to be a stupendously great work.
This is one of those case when you wish Simcity4 had a pedestrian view... Such a high level of quality in the details... Splendid!
And don't worry, on the lack of updates.... You can not beat Girafe or Simfox.... :D
Awesome, very well done! Can't wait to see the entire building :)
Well, this looks way better than in real life, I think that's a BATing milestone
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi1303.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fag155%2Fmzmatnet%2Fchrysler_zpshcesh870.jpg&hash=ac6c8321270cf96b4fd003d2e997a7daeee942ed)
by the way, I don't know how to resize the image, help...
wow just wow &apls
indeed it would've been nice if we had the cameras from CS implemented in SC4
It looks beautiful, I can just imagine how magnificent the whole building will look :)
Thanks everyone ;D  Yeah, it's a bit frivolous, but I like to make models for my own satisfaction. Then they become BATs ;D
Anyway, here's the next bit to show... It still needs a bit more work but I will need to review it in the context of the entire building once I get more of the textures done.
Here is that iconic spire:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.com%2Fa%2Fimg909%2F2996%2FrIVjhs.jpg&hash=a9f769e73c059279d3f69a80b3da8bba5dcf6889)
Let me know what you think :)
Gorgeous! The colouring and textures are superb
I have no words to describe this masterpiece...It's one of my favourites and you are doing an amazing job here...
&apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls
Let me think...: OH MY GOD!!! &apls &apls &apls
This....is....AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! &hlp &apls
Love the shiny Metal Textures you used. This will sure be one of the Main Attractions in my New York Region
With buildings like this, who needs these new city games? This is great! It's unbelievably crisp.
&apls
The detailing and textures are outstanding! &apls
Omigosh, it's magnificent!
Hmmm...I can't help but think it is missing something...what could it be...
...Quetzalcoatl's Nest!

Err, maybe "Q the Winged Serpent" can be a seasonal prop or automata.
Dragons do like shiny things.
Amazing roof &apls &apls &apls
Maybe to turn a little bit down the shiny effect of metal to fit perfectly in sc4 environment ;)
Really nice start on the top. &apls &apls &apls
Smply stunning! &apls
speechless. Amazing. Pure art. &apls
Thankyou to Simcoug, Carlfatal (Twice!), Bombardiere, Arthur, JP, Matias, Unconstantean (Twice!), Seraf, Belfastsocrates, Kelis, Romualdillo, Deora, Metarvo, Vortext, Odainsaker, Girafe & Vester... I was very nervous posting that last update, I'm feeling extreme pressure to do a good job with this building that no-one appears to have attempted in 10 years of BATing history.. eeeek... :o Your comments are all very encouraging ;D
Great image Odainsaker - A classic Boris unless I'm mistaken :D
Girafe - yeah, you're probably right, I'll keep going with it for now and view it in-game before making final tweaks to the materials. The tip is hard to make without making it look like plastic.
Thankyou to my mysterious benefactor for my 2nd K-point ;D
Here's the next preview, moving further down the tower. I'm up to the bit where there's fancy tiling around the facade surface.. that's going to be an huge challenge :o
Don't pay too much attention to the glass, its just a placeholder at this stage.

I was astonished by the glass textures and you say that is "just a placeholder". This is gonna be real great!
Maybe a way to improve the metallic feel of the spire is to stain it a little, considering that is in a contaminated, maritime city for almost a century.
This is seriously becoming what I'd call the BAT of history. No BAT can achieve such a high amount of expert modeling, texturing... Really a masterpiece.
A runner up would the MSU from Sam Johnson, for example.
Brilliant! I love the radiator caps
Beautiful, just beautiful. &apls &apls &apls
You do remember that one side of the building is at an angle I hope? ;D
Stunning!!! Simply stunning!! &apls
This is going to be spectacular &hlp
Some grime and shadowing is needed, but I would keep it very light. This is a monument after all, not a grummy steel factory.
There is nothing wrong to aim at the best, but no need to be stressed. You have proven yourself. What a beauties you have released.
I love the Landmarks you have made, but still I hope that you have time for your Melbourne creations too. You have interesting things going on there. Yes, I am odd, but I love small "filler" building. In my opinion these are what gives the city its soul. :)
Ohhh... this is great work! &apls
OMG IS THAT A SC4 BUILDNG? :O &apls
If you would like in the fuure, t woul be nice to have a vintage Empire State with a zeppelin docked on the top (as a timed prop) :D

That job is currently occupied by Vlasky. Linkie (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=15573.msg472716#msg472716)
Zeppelin post: Linkie (http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/41523-vlaskys-hells-kitchen/?do=findComment&comment=1459730)
Unfortunately, Vlasky is still only at 1/2 capacity, and has not jumped fully back into the BATting scene, though he is still around. You could probably ring him up by PM to see how he's doing.
The Chrysler building top looks excellent (don't remember if I said that already)! It will be great to see this in game, and especially with the characteristic "pop" that all of your buildings have, RDQ.
One of the most stunning projects I've ever seen! I'm pretty happy with the level of shininess now though it's hard to say for sure without seeing it in an SC4 environment. Will be following this eagerly
Congratulations on a well deserved OSITM! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us. :)

Absolutely stunning stuff
I've been trying to find out what the fuss was about because the pictures weren't loading for me until now. I'm not hugely into NYC content, but this is something I'm truly looking forward to.
Congratulations and much deserved! &apls
Oh my God O.o
Your works are always impressive, I just have no more words to describe and praise about it '-'
This Chrysler Building will certainly be one of the best BATs of all times!
Congratulations. Your Chrysler Building is shiny.
Wow!!! Simply amazing. Don't change the shininess of the spire, it looks GREAT as is ;D
Thankyou for OSITM, I feel very special :bnn:
Mattais - Thanks. I'm still working on the glass, I hope it turns out well!
Art - Thankyou, that's adding to the pressure :D
Simcoug - Thankyou!
Seraf - Thankyou, yes, I haven't forgotten, going to be interesting to lot it though ()what()
Romualdillo - Thankyou!
Bombardierre - Thankyou, yes, definitely some light grime is in order
Thanks Frank!
Unconstantantean - Thanks for the thought, I'm hoping though, along with many others, that Vlasky comes back soon and finishes some of the masterpieces he's teased us all with!
Thanks Aaron, yeah, I've made blinds but I haven't finished the glass yet... hopefully soon
APSMS - Thanks for stopping by
Noah, thankyou my friend
Thanks Girafe!
Mgb204 - Thankyou, I hope it didn't disappoint :P
Thanks Belfastsocrates!
Thankyou very much JP!
Thanks MrsMartman - I've done some work on the shininess as you'll shortly see
SC3kufan - oh, I did do some work on the shininess, I hope it's ok ()stsfd()
Oh wow - that's so many comments, thanks for taking the time everyone, I appreciate it :)
Well, the work has stalled a bit due to the patterned tiles, but here's some more renders, this time with the full model. I'm particularly interested in what you think of the spire being less shiny?

Seriously,i have no Words for how i feel right now when looking at this Piece of Art.
My Mouth is wide open,i dropped the Jaws and completely lost my speech.
"Epic" would be a very weak Word to describe your Rendition of the Chrysler Building. It`s spectacular and a real Legend. We and our Computers will be long gone when SC 4 Players in the Future will still talk about that crazy Guy that once BATted the Chrysler Building for SC4.
One Thing i`m still wondering is: Why is the Building angled on one Side? Was there once a tiny Street that got obscured by Time and Development or what`s the Reason?
Too bad much of the angled Side is covered by an adjacent Building.
Thanks Unconstantean - very cute koala :D
Thankyou Deora! That's a really good question, I don't know why the side would be angled either.. someone will know I'm sure ;)
Seeing JP's work on the Stadium reminds me of work I started on Engenhão a long time ago. Maybe this month I can spend some time finishing off the modelling for it. So far I've only started on the seating, the outside is all just prototype models so far. Look for more updates soon :)
Closeup of the seating:

And progress so far: (Big!)

Beautiful progress on the Chrysler &apls &apls I'm quite happy with the spire textures as they appear now. Didn't realize there was an angle to the building's base, could lead to some interesting lotting possiblities....
Stadium is looking great! Looks like quite a few seats to bat :D

It's not as bad as you may think. In fact it's quite easy. You model one seat and then use the array tool.. Quite a practical tool. I suppose that's the method Reddon used... After all, modeling each seat one by one is pure madness.
Brilliant work on the Chrysler building... Really a magnificent creation. I'll be really surprised if it doesn't get a few awards. (ST HAS to create a
BAT of Simcity category for their next trixies.)
The stadium seems like a good start too.
Chrysler building is amazing, looking forward seeing it ingame! &apls
Stadium is also promising!
The stadium looks very promising and the Chrysler Building, well... :o
It's one of the most spectacular BATs I've ever seen... An example of how SC4 still beats all the newer games thanks to the talented members of the community.
&apls &apls &apls
The Chrysler Building is totally awesome! &apls
The stadium looks interesting (I have to admit, I don´t like sports... ::)) But I like the level of detail here. And I am really waiting for first pictures of the facade.

Don Quixote ? ??? ... never heard of you ... you're not french , isn't ? $%Grinno$%
Never heard of you , except that I used to lurk at your Melbourne BAT thread at ST since its early days , even if skyscrapers aren't my favorite kind of BATs ( as in RL than with SC4 ) : how to stay unmoved in front of such talent , and , surely essential , how to not dream ( selfishly ) about you BATing something like ... let's say a cathedral ? ... wait a minute .... You did it ? Oh my ... Don Bussy Man ! ;D
Have to thank you for all that provoked desire , sir .
I was a SC4 player most of all inspired by its details and realism aspects , and SC4 , for obvious reasons when , amazed like a child , I look at works like yours , is far to get any worthy successor ... SC4 community may look tired currently - and may be tiresome sometimes $%Grinno$% - , at least since my retirement I haven't found a more inspiring place . Valid statement for various BATers and MODers keeping on expanding the game of our dream , but right now , a K-point is requested especially here in front of that Chrysler Building shining like a crown perched on ... only 3 years of BATing ? Really ? ::) ... Noah or Arthur ( Hi ! :) ) , please ?
&apls &apls &apls
Cedric.
I'm totally agree with Badsim's comment !! I got that power too so I will give to you that K-point !! All your models are a collection of pieces of art, but the last one...the Chrysler Building is in another level... those textures and small details...
No words my friend, I just would like to see two more things... first one, please make someday some building from Japan and the second and most important, PLEASE NEVER LEAVE THIS GAME !!!
Greetings and thanks for all your work
Great to see some work on the Engenhao stadium. I was concerned we had lost you from the Rio 2016 project team.
This is going to be real gem... You are doing an amazing job on it. It's good to have someone so talented in the community, when I fell a bit bored with BATing I always look at your work and I feel inspired to keep going with mine :D
And I don't know about the spire... I think it looks good now :)
As for the why one side is angled - if I remember correctly there was an old road that the curve of the building follows. One site I found says that along this road was carried news of the Declaration of Independence. So maybe the architect wanted to commemorate that? ???
Thanks everyone. Where did October go?? :o ()what()
A whole month has gone by and I've made hardly any progress &mmm
I've returned to some really nice comments though.
Noah - Thanks! Yeah, As Arthur said, the seats are cloned. The stadium sections are made as straight sections and then bent into shape using a bend modifier. Will be interesting when it comes time to texturing them all though!
Art - Thanks! Have to actually finish it first :D
Thankyou Vortext
Romualdillo - Thanks my friend!
Thanks Carlfatal! - Lol. No, I don't like sports either. I'm looking forward to this as a BATing challenge but its not something I find very inspiring to model.
Badsim - Thankyou so much. That was a very lovely message to come back to.
Kelis - Likewise, thankyou for such nice words. I think I know which country my next International BAT will come from ;)
Hi Eugene!, yes, I still plan to finish Engenhao and possibly one other Rio BAT I had in mind as well $%#Ninj2
Thankyou Seraf! - I feel I'm in great company
Unfortunately no updates for this thread today. Let's hope November is more productive ;D

Btw, nice to see Engenhão, it is looking very good!
You're not afraid of big projects are you? :D
The Chrysler Building is incredible &apls
Whenever I want to be amazed I just mosey through this thread (and your ST one)...
;D
Wonderful work, you should be part of NYBT team. :D
Reddon the top of the Chrysler is just perfect. A question: is Engenhão a stadium in real life?
Progress on Engenhão is excruciatingly slow... I'm finding it too much of a chore and it's keeping me away from BATing 'cos I don't want to start something new until I finish something :(
Chrysler Building is pretty close, I just need to do that last mosaic texture and nightlights, so maybe I'll focus on getting that one out. Engenhão can progress slowly in the background ()stsfd()
Replies:
JP - cracked me up :D :D
CP - hmmm... maybe I am... Engenhão is getting the better of me :P
SimCoug - Thankyou! I'll have to pick up the pace so you have more stuff to look at ;)
Aaron - Thanks buddy! Maybe think of me as an honorary member :)
SuperMessi - Thankyou :) Yes, Engenhão is a stadium in Rio. (I started making it for the Rio 2016 project over on ST.)
Here's some latest updates, mainly on the roof:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.com%2Fa%2Fimg911%2F3065%2F0T8lKm.jpg&hash=aad31d1caeee775bed98834558a9fe327d9f5713)

Wow - the stadium is amazingly detailed! I don't envy you the job of texturing all those seats, though
Indeed this BAT looks really promising ;)
I have looked at Reddonquixote's Chrysler Building and there is definitely something eye-catching about it, I can't put my finger on it but it's got to be some BATing magic.
The stadium might seem like an annoying chore to you but at least it's beautiful for me to look at :D In all seriousness though, I often find that taking a break from something I need to do but am not enjoying will make later work easier and more productive--besides the extra energy one can think of an idea one might not have before. To put that in context though, I don't feel great about my exceptional ability at procrastination ::)
The Chrysler Building is on a level that you just don't see often. I'm sure part of that is it's brilliant RL design but I'm tempted to say yours looks even better than that. Always great to follow your work!
It's a great looking stadium so far. To make it less excruciating, maybe break the model down into a few/several models, and then merge them back together after the texturing is done?
For God, I lost a lot of surprises from the first week from december :D
Engenhão is looking fantastic! Maybe it's boring to do cuz you don't really like soccer and it's too big, but you can be sure you're doing an amazing work. We still have 8 months to the Olympics, so you can even release Chrysler, Empire State Building, the Colosseum and the great pyramids thank you :)
Ok, just kidding. Anyway, I have not more words to praise you so I have to say those things to be different :bnn:
Well, I thought I had finally finished all the mosaics on the Chrysler Building but then I spotted another section I didn't see before, so I need to do those before the final day renders. :'(
In the meantime I had completed all the nightlights, so they are ready to go at least. Here's the preview renders, the first one is Z4 so you can see it a bit better. Please let me know if there's anything you think needs fixing.
Firstly, replies:
MattB - yeah, I'm hoping that's not too hard. I think I can texture them all in sections, if I have to do them one by one, well, I won't probably :D
Girafe, Vizoria, JP - Thanks ;D
Noah - Thankyou! My middle name is procrastination by the way ;)
CP - Yes, very sensible suggestion. Thanks!
Here's the night lights for the Chrysler Building:

Nightlights looks good :)
Absolutely perfect, sir. :)
Excellent stuff!!! &apls
WOW! That's going to be the centerpiece of a lot of cities' skylines I'm sure. &apls
Why you're so amazing? *-*
I can't wait to replace all ugly Maxis Chrysler Buildings from my cities :D
One of the most drool-inducing sets of pictures I've ever seen: D You've really done a great job here.

Says it all really!! Nothing more to add
All I can say is: :o
We are accustomed to perfection with your work, but this time it is much more than perfect ! &apls &apls &apls
Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Glad you're making such a fine model of one of my favorite buildings in the world.
Almost got a Heartattack from all this glory amazingness. This will be a Crownjewel in all SC4 BAT History.
That Nightlighting is spectacular,i just want to look at it all Day and sink into it.
Thanks alot for making this possible.
Good. Very, very, very good! ;D
Utterly amazing!
Do you fancy doing the nite-lights on all of my Bats? $%Grinno$% :D
The more I see it, the more I think: This can't be real. It must be an airbrushed image of the real building. It's impossible...
It looks so beautiful! Now I'm thinking on how to smuggle it into my 1910 NYC recreation without it looking weird because not using it would be a crime :D
Spectacular work &apls &apls &apls
Thankyou for the nice comments everyone.
The Chrysler Building has just been uploaded to the LEX, I hope you like it :)
Happy New Year to all ;D
Very lovely, though I would have preferred a non-functional landmark as well, just in case our region lacks the proper CO demand (functional landmarks can wreak havoc if you aren't careful).
But I'm nitpicking. It is lovely, and a wonderful addition to SC4. Thanks for sharing your hard work, I am glad to see it on the LEX.
Happy New Year, too!
Thanks APSMS - I just went to add a non-functional landmark version to the file but then I noticed a problem with the Functional version so I have now removed it from the LEX :'(
This is why I don't mod!! $%Grinno$%
Sorry everyone, but I do hope you enjoy the non-functional version.
For anyone who has downloaded the functional version I'd recommend you delete it - sincere apologies for that!
Would you mind if I modded a functional plop and a CO$$$ growable for it? The growable would be a Stage 8 (CAMpatible, but no CAM required)
Please do! :bnn:
I don't know why, my attempts at modding are just cursed!
Thanks heaps Casper
Heheh, I know the feeling when it comes to modding, Reddonquixote. :-[ Lovely work on the Chrysler building though! &apls &apls
JP Schriefer is in a relationship with Reddonquixote's Chrysler Building &dance &dance &dance
Amaaazing work!!! Thank you very much!
Amazing job for a masterpiece.
Thanks for sharing it on the LEX ;)
maybe the best BAT ever :D &apls
Just wanted to let everyone know, CapserVg has come to the rescue and we now have fully modded versions of the Chrysler Building on the LEX, including Growable, Functional and non-Functional ploppables. :bnn:
Thankyou for all the nice responses :)
It's truly an amazing BAT &apls
Great to see this beauty released! A great way to cap off the Advent Calendar :bnn:
Ok, after a few false starts, Palace of Westminster is on it's way - or technically, the Clock Tower is on its way. I hope no one is in a hurry for this, it's going to be a lo-oooong project (and I've also been gently reminded I need to get Engenhao stadium finished as well :D )
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.com%2Fa%2Fimg924%2F5220%2F0JwIzW.jpg&hash=fcad102ccc8d6921916ea438deff188acab85204)
I think there was a question in the other thread regarding nightlights - probably a bit too early days to be thinking about lights yet :D :D
Seraf - you want to do this as well? Well now we know there are at least two insane people on this site :bnn: :bnn:
Wow! &apls As long as this gets finished we are all happy! Now.. define lo-oooong? hahaha more than 6 months?
Oh yes, this is very nice! Can't wait to see more of it :)
I think the lights will depend on the version you are making. Mine, being pre-1900, won't have anything fancy when it comes to illumination ;)
Yeah, well, I don't mind :D What's so great about being normal anyway? $%Grinno$%
Wow, nothing too complicated there ::) The size and complexity of the project here seems huge even by your standards and I certainly look forward to seeing your progress on this one
Fantastic start, that's looking amazing!
Incredible detailing so far
Amazing modeling! You picked a heck of a project - good luck!
Nice, but can it be modded to be a station?
J/k :D This is awesome Jay.
Cheers
Willy
It's a beautifully detailed start &apls

Recreating Manhattan? What an ambitious plan!
Now that is quite a prospect. &apls
Wait whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
You`re not really trying to BAT the whole Financial District as one BAT (or Modules that will shape it)
I`ve seen someone doing the whole Liberty Island as a BAT and already thought that was crazy (and secretly wished your amazingly detailed Statue or Liberty was used) but now you come and create the Financial District?
You`re Nuts Mate...and we love you for that &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls
And now i really wanna see how it all fits in the Game :D
Really beautiful work here &apls If there's anyone capable of undertaking such a massive project and doing it justice it's certainly you ;)
Holy cow! &dance &dance &dance
It looks like you have plans to do the Battery Maritime Building too... I would love that! I think I can count the number of custom ferry terminals in SC4 on one hand - plus it's beautiful historic building. Really excited to see activity in this thread!
Thanks everyone - to be honest, not really sure what I'm doing yet.
I do know its not going to be one huge BAT lol $%Grinno$%
I'm thinking more of a CJ than a series of BATs. I was inspired by Korver's Sydney Harbour and thought it would be cool to see NY harbour done as well, but for obvious reasons its practically impossible to recreate in the confines of the SC4 grid.. so about the bust the grid big time
Here's the area I want to do with the buildings all blocked in. It's pretty much the whole section south of the Brooklyn bridge... and its a pretty mammoth undertaking.

Assuming you're not on the student license, once finished, you could seriously consider selling it to New York City or even movie studios. I imagine they would have a lot of uses for something like this
That's interesting. You're completely insane. :D
This really is insane! If you need any assistance, let me know!
I do have one BAT from downtown and adjusting it to fit the map is something I would gladly do.
That's absolutely fantastic! You're never tired to impress us uh &apls &apls &apls &apls

I thought I won't let the weekend go by without posting an update, so here's a rather dramatic sweeping view along FDR Drive. I think I've added about 8 new buildings since last time, you might be able to spot some of them... (Alfred E. Smith only counts as one :D )
Thanks for the nice comments so far. I'm finding it quite fun and satisfying to do this project

If you're thinking I've done/ doing all the easy ones first, then you would be right :D
Nick: Yeah.. I got really good video cards at my last upgrade thinking they would make rendering faster but soon found out rendering is all driven off the RAM. ()sad() On the plus side, I've never had a graphic lag since, even with this many models in one file! Taking longer and longer to open though...
Thanks JP! ;)
Can't find words to describe how spectacular this undertaking ist. :o :-[
Love the Custom House and the Battery Maritime Building in particular!
Now model the interior and create a GTA-like game with this. :D (Am joking)
You have left me speechless. I am looking forward to seeing more and hearing your plans regarding this project.
If you need anything, maybe even just to talk about this whole thing, please don't hesitate to get in touch with NYBT - Aaron Graham, PBGV103, Seraf and/or me.
Wow, certainly a big project there, NY fans are going to love where this goes.

Whilst the default rendering does primarily utilise your CPU, it should be possible to offload some CPU cycles onto the GPU. If you have a NVida setup, you should check out their custom mental ray rendering for 3DS Max, which is apparently free. The issue with that is that would be getting BAT4Max to integrate with it, but it's worth a shot perhaps?
Clearly a sign of madness, but I like what you are doing. :D
I would love to mod Battery Building as a functional Ferry Port. The game needs variation.
Wow,this is just Madness!!!Still try to imagine on how hard it would be place this huge Thing on properly scaled Manhattan Map...also wondering how this Behemoth would be aligned to the actual Map.
Most truscale Manhattan Maps for Simcity 4 are aligned parallel to the larger Portion of Streetgrid Manhattan is known for.
Also i know this Behemoth of a Project isn`t nearly finished i wonder how it`s Stats would be...Jobs,Pollution etc :D
Until the Time has come we all can just watch and enjoy how this amazing Project will grow Building for Building &apls &apls
Amazing! &apls
So many ready-made, stand-alone bats in the waiting. I think you are putting the nybt to shame (even when they were at their height of activity) :D
Can't even express how great this looks. Wonderful work. &apls &apls
As Vlasky said - if you want any help with that just ask. I still have my model of Custom House.
Keep up this amazing work
These are all fantastic!!!!!! &apls &apls
Lot of projects in the pipe
Hope to see some released soon ;)
These are great  I especially like the Custom House, 120 Wall Street (so New York!), 100 Old Slip, and the Battery Maritime Building.
Only a few thousand more to go :D
Sorry, no updates to share, just yet, but I was wondering if anyone can please recommend a good water mod?
I'm currently using Gobias Staten Island Water mod - is that considered a good one? It dates back to 2012, wondering if there's been any remarkable advances in water mods since then, or is that as good as they come? (not that there's anything particularly wrong with it, just seems to glitch sometimes and lose transparency - maybe that's how they are?)
While I'm here, some replies ;D
Thanks Praiodan, Bombardiere, Girafe, Diva and CP!
Arthur - very funny :D
Vlasky and Seraf thanks for the offer
MGB - eek.. too technical for me, but I might PM you sometime for help?
Deora - yeah, the southern tip isn't gridded unfortunately, hence me wanting to do it ()what() ()what() I have a proof-of-concept in the works, hope to share very soon.
Matt, thanks! - But as we all know, BATs are made by their textures, and NYBT are all texturing masters, I hope I can do as well :)
Still looking for a good water mod.. anyone ()what() ()what() ()what()
Anyway.. here's a little preview of what I've been working on.

Excellent work! SC4 really needs a new dock set and those look amazing!

Looks great! These docks will be wonderful in game.
On water mods it's difficult - you're already using a good one, yes, so to argue could only be arguing about taste. Bit over at Simtropolis CorinaMarie made a cataloge with pictures of every known water mod which might be helpful if you want to pick a new one for colour reasons http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/71449-coris-water-shoppe/ (http://community.simtropolis.com/forums/topic/71449-coris-water-shoppe/).
Thankyou both - CorinaMarie's list is extremely helpful, thanks Fantozzi for pointing me in there. Korver, I really like some of the drunkapple ones as well. I had already found and am pretty happy with HD brigantine, but lots more to choose from now, thanks
I'm actually toying with the idea now of BATing water so that I can get true reflections.. philosophical debate topic: At what point does it stop being SC4 and becomes a 3D render inside the SC4 executable? &mmm
Thanks JP and Nick :)
The anglers will be happy to fish. ;D The piers look great!
Thankyou all ;D
Its been a little while in the making, but I think its ready to show now.. let me know what you think?

Thanks for the water mod suggestions... I went with Gobias' GB Seto Inland Sea Water in the end
I think I want to do something with the water edges so they look a bit foamy and maybe a bit stony, rather than so crisp edges at the moment. Suggestions gratefully received :newbie:
Wow! :o Looks exactly like the real thing! I think I never used the Statue of Liberty landmark from Maxis, but this... :)
As for the edges, maybe add some rocks around the walls, extending into the water a bit, like on this photo (http://newyorkyimby.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Statue-of-Liberty-National-Monument.jpg)?
Wonderfull, truely wonderful.
BUT
Help me, please understand, what i see here. Is it one piece of model, or a LOT with different props and textures? Anyway that seewall looks so nice, that I could use that as a separate shoreline decoration all with its angels... OK as I know making such a seawall probably would be pretty hard work, but that would be such a great addition. and those piers/docks could be work as a separate prop set as well... :)
Amazing work on this too, thanks!
- Tyberius
Just stunning. &apls You give a word Landmark a whole new meaning.
I could use those jetties as separate props. Off centred perhaps so that those could point outside of the lot in to water.
Impressive! It's a genuine masterpiece! &apls It would be great if the docks were functional... Are they?
You know, this beauty doesn't even need to be on water, as it could be a monumental plaza on the top of a hill. Considering that, and the wealth of effects available to end users (like ploppable foam), you should include the less possible landscaping.
Absolutely stunning  Really, it is flawless!
For the foam, maybe I guess you could add one of the 'wash effects' similar to those used on bridges (which would be a lot of work in the reader to make it appear on a non-network based file, and may not even be possible to achieve any results), but failing that, there are a lot of wonderful rock flora that can be MMP'd around the model by the user.
Wow that's an amazing work O.O
Absolutely fantastic &apls
Awesome! :o
I can't even find the words to describe how wonderful this looks &apls &apls I just have to ask - are those trees seasonal? ;)
As a side note: here's the Bedloe's Island in the 30's ;D

reddonquixote that looks just splendid.
Fun side story, a small part of the island is in New Jersey, a bit like Ellis Island. Here is only a small part of the island is New York.
@R.D.Q:
Wow,you always surprise me!
First, you did that lovely Lady Liberty with Pedestal and now this
I have to admit,i really had a hard Time building a realistic looking Liberty Island around your Statue, especially because it wasn`t alligned with the Simcity Grid and my Island never looked rally good compared to that lovely detailed Statue of yours.

Whoa, that's BIG! One of the few building ensembles that I've been waiting for since ever, although there were I think two or three earlier approaches to this, but none of them ever managed to make the complete set.

Wow, that's awesome! I always waited someone to do the whole complex from the WFC. You're doing great!
Just amazing. It looks like I missed the last update with that ferry. It's a beauty!
You really are a master of this art (and don't be humble $%Grinno$%)
One question: are you using 2017...how have you been able get it to work with Bat4Max? (I'm having palpitations for when my license runs out...)
Thanks Andreas, Brookfield Place / WFC is a particularly nice section of the Lower Manhattan skyline IMO... when you consider how close it is to the WTC its thankfully amazing it survived 9-11, although I understand it did sustain significant damage.
Thankyou too Unconstantantean. <3 what? 3... decades? :D
Thanks JP, good to see you back, hope all went well with your studies this year.
Thanks Matt - yes, using 2017, and did get it to work with BAT 4 Max. I'll make another post in a minute how to tweak the script so it works.
Here it is again, in situ. While that's a pretty large segment completed, its a sobering reminder how much more there is to do :D :D

Korver uses stuff from the 3d warehouse. Reddonquixote models from scratch. Quite different skill sets, I would say. Also, many of the truly breathtaking bats you see in Korver's Manhattan scene are in fact from Reddonquixote and are available for download.

The Woolworth building is just breathtaking! Even without texturing the detail is superb and the model already pops, I can't wait to see it textured ;D

Art: (Below) Thanks! Yes, I think that would be possible, but I think I would need to 'un-bend' the carriageway. At some point I will need to work out how to get all these models into a state of game-readiness &mmm
That's brilliant. Do you think you'll be able to turn it into a ingame bridge model?
While the Maxis one isn't too bad, we really need a fresh high quality version...
Just a thought. :)

wowowowowow i've spent a lot of time traversing the IRL BK Bridge and that looks AMAZING. what software are you using for the modelling??
The modelling certainly leaves the in-game one for dead, and the brooklyn bridge was one of Maxis' better (if not the best?) creations

Amazing!
If you need a hand with getting anything into game, just drop me a PM and I'll be happy to help :satisfied:
Thankyou
Firstly, I've just done a bit more work on the 1 WTC Spire, I wasn't expecting as much detail to show up in the final render. This is more complete and accurate, as well as more detailed. If you think it needs anything else let me know...
Secondly - don't worry, everything is definitely being made to go into the game, and hence will be released as well. Not doing all this work for nothing ;)
There's just a couple of areas of concern that I don't yet know how I'm going to solve, without making everything eye-candy (as opposed to functional).
I set out to make the most realistic SC4 city recreation of Lower Manhattan using my own models, including accurate orientations, but this brings several challenges...
1. The Grid
Unlike the rest of Manhattan, Lower Manhattan is not based on a grid. Hence why, to my knowledge, no one has ever been able to recreate the area really accurately.
For example:
I've thought about forcing a grid, with clusters of buildings on one square lot and BATing the really difficult roads in (the lots would be TE'd), but in most sections there's no obvious natural breaks that don't intersect with other buildings.
2. Functional Transport systems
In particular:
Brooklyn Bridge - For the bridge to be functional, the entire map would need to be oriented so the bridge itself is perpendicular. Not so much of an issue, but it limits options for the rest of the map. As previously mentioned, the bow in the carriageway would need to be flattened as well.
FDR Drive - The angle is too steep for a functional highway without making crazy (and unrealstic) zigzags and bends along its length. This will need more thought...
3. Sea walls
I had originally thought the lots that intersect with the harbour could have props fashioned into seawalls, but as I found with Liberty island, its not easy to do and make work with everything else. Still, I don't see this as a major issue, just a headache.
Anyway, that's my thinking so far, I'd gratefully take any suggestions
^^ Wow, that detail is really sharp
For the lot problem (I can't really offer any constructive tips on the other issues), you have a few options as I see it, all of them revolve around a ploppable lot with jobs:
1) Create the Lot Textures and then TE/path the lot; or
2) Create the road pieces as batted props and TE the first tile. As long as the road pieces are no more than 0.2m high, you can set them to receive shadows from surrounding buildings and props and then you can arrange the buildings and props on the lot around the batted road pieces; or
3) Bat the entire lot in sections that are joined together in game when plopped; or
4) Bat the buildings and some of the surrounding ground as overhanging props on 1x1 (for example) lots and drag the network such as Far pieces etc around the building to give the illusion. Ped malls can be placed in the gaps to get the network to add sidewalk textures to complete the illusion.
No 1) is probably the most involved, especially if like me, you haven't made lot textures before or used the SC4 path creator $%Grinno$%
Impressive details on the top of the WTC!
I like Matt's fourth idea of using FAR etc.
Awesome recreation
Thanks Matt (and Art).. I like the idea of no. 1, that was my original idea how to make it work, but as I look into it in more detail, I can't find rectangular lots very easily. If I combine with 4 (as Art suggests), then using a combination of textured/TE-pathed lots and overhanging props I should be able to get it to work. (I wonder, is pathing hard to do?)
I don't know much about FAR, is it part of NAM, and/or is there a development or instructional thread (or read-me) somewhere? Sorry to ask such a basic question :newbie: (FAR might only be semi-useful anyway, presumably it offers another variation from 90 and 45 degrees, but only some of which may conform to the map.
Thanks Girafe too
The FAR networks are part of the NAM and offer the ability for roads to be dragged at 33.7, 26.6 or 18.4 degrees (as opposed to just 0 or 45)...hopefully I haven't left any out ::)
Simply WOW. &apls This is so impressive even without texturing, you've clearly been busy. I can't recall seeing such a monolithic project like this being achieved before. But you are probably one of only a handful of people capable of seeing such a project through. Your progress here is testament to your abilities with 3DS Max. Just imagining seeing everything here textured and rendered in-game someday gives me chills and I'm not particularly a fan of NYC either.
For roads there is only FAR-2 and FAR-3 at present. I forget the angles of those, but it means 1 tile up for every 2 / 3 tiles along. But that does allow for a total of 24 differentially angled road choices. See this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RIC8atOrC4) for how to build these networks along with some of the WRC options. Bear in mind, there are limitations within FAR in terms of intersections and the like. But if you test it and things are "close enough", I'd consider filling any gaps with some new code/textures for you. This is one of those projects that really deserves those little touches, if you get to that stage.
Since you are handy with modelling, I'm guessing UV mapping is within your capabilities? Assuming it is, you can put a road anywhere, at any angle you can texture, using Overhanging S3D props. It's really not that hard to make, but limitations include not being functional and they really, really hate slopes. But it's another potential solution. I have to imagine for your purposes, batting them in would work too, although I really hate it when people do this :(.
You are limited to Ortho for regular draggable bridges, this is true. But to work, you need to break it up into parts, frankly at this level of quality, I think we can find a way to get this into the NAM, if that works for you. Of course you could simply cheat with Network --> Subway lots to make an eye-candy bridge function. However, if you were breaking it up into repeat pieces, it may just be possible to use rotated versions with the Advanced Bridge Enabler plugin (formally DBE). This would give you a diagonal variant for sure if the pieces lined up correctly, I suspect FAR might even be possible too. You'd need to make the Bridge Supports and Cabling separate props that are manually plopped into place. However, it looks doable to me. I'd guess though you have to stay somewhat true (in terms of the map), so as to keep the main gridded part of the city at the correct angle. Based on that, what sort of angle is most ideal for the bridge?
Wow.. both so helpful thank you so much &apls &apls
I thought next thing I better do is try creating some networks on the map to see how it might come to work (mgb - your video was extremely helpful, thankyou again)
Here's what I've created so far...
The biggest issue seems to be getting the intersections to join up, and more problematically for the lower-right section of map, is getting FAR pieces to intersect with other FAR pieces - I don't think they do that? I need to watch more NAM tutorials I think
Here's also a copy of the map I've gridded up to use for reference (green are straight roads and orange are the FAR pieces I've added so far. This shows the angle the bridge would need to be. (I've oriented the map so Broadway runs straight down the middle)
I have to run, but I'd be grateful for any comments/suggestions on what I've done so far ()stsfd()
That grid over real life map is a cleaver idea. I have couple of times tried to match
city street network on SC4. However I have just wanted it look rough approximation of real street map and I have never bothered to track down exact positions of the streets. I have just taken a shoreline or river curves and roughly estimated where the main roads should be.
Anyway. I think it is best to lay out the street grid first. Thus you can match our building models on it. You can made your buildings as overhanging props with sidewalks and yards, so that those will fit the street pattern. Perhaps some of minor street and alley could be made as props or lot textures as well.
If you use FAR-3 for those roads on the lower right, there are FAR-3 x FAR-3 intersections which might be helpful, though you can only intersect those once every three tiles (as far as I know). So the spacing probably wouldn't work out perfectly. Anyway, super-impressive project so far.
Thanks Bombaridiere - Yes, hoping that will work
Good to see you back CP. Thanks, I will check it out. Still in experimenting mode :D
I played with the curved road a bit more. These curves aren't quite as elegant as the puzzle pieces, but still not bad, but at least I can connect to these:
I've also had a play with making some seawalls. Still early days, lots to fix up, but not a bad start ()what()

Lastly, couldn't resist :D

Looking good! I love the sea walls...did you ever make/release some other riverside sea wall type pieces for your Melbourne stuff?...(I might be having a senior moment, so forgive me if it wasn't you) ::)
Oh those seawalls look nice !
Any chance of you doing Sydney, Australia buildings :)
Thanks Matt - Yes, that was me who made Melbourne river pieces, but they weren't really ever for release. They weren't modular and only pieced together to make the Yarra. I did release a lot of the little props (Trees, benches, statues etc as part of my prop pack though.
Thanks Kitsune.. still working on them.
No Doug, not for a while $%Grinno$%
So, I had to restart my map - I needed to terraform the coastline properly , so now it conforms perfectly with my reference grid. This has enabled me to make quite nicely fitting seawalls. I still need to make them a bit more seamless, but these are pretty good as testers.
Firstly, you have to imagine they are nicely textured and furnished ;) :
Here's how they form to make a nice smooth coastline:
and here's an overview of the terraformed coastline:

Let me know what you think.
lovely. Can you add some variation to the walls? like some sewage pipes ore tunnels:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aedificiumconstanta.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2012%2F10%2Fdrainage_tunnel_01.jpg&hash=f3b99778f71383082459b037f6b29e6349b010e5)
I'm actually considering doing something like this for my current city, considering most of the shoreline is not 90 or 45 degrees.
That small portion of seawall is pretty good looking. Only thing i would have done differently is not model the trees, so i can get more variety, randomness and seasonal trees.
even better on the seawalls ! My city I traced out the original coast, so it has all kinds of crazy angles, and its why I haven't sea wall'ed it yet (well that and there is thousands of coastal tiles to sea wall).

..and the Washington Building. I'm hoping it will look better once textured.

I think the Washington Building looks great already &apls
The transport hub is always going to be a tricky structure to be 100% accurate for SC4, but what you have is pretty good so far. To think that Westfield have turned the plaza of the oculus into an LED ad and shopping mall.... %confuso
Those seawalls look absolutely superb. I know it's early days but will there be some curved corners?
The Washington Building also looks fantastic.
Always a pleasure to watch a master at work! &apls

I'm particularly excited for the transport center (love Calatrava and his museum in Milwaukee was my favorite architecture in the city!) and also the Customs House with the unusual angle--we desperately need more beautiful buildings in such shapes! Seawall possibilities are exciting as well and the whole project is really coming together nicely!
edit: wrong building name ::)
Still super-excited about the bridge as well. And still wish sloping at least at the ends could somehow be feasible... maybe that's just not meant to be

It would probably be complicated, but couldn't the sloped bridge be pulled off by making it a TE-ed lot with custom paths? I suspect you'd have to play games with the elevation of the ground under the water but I think it could potentially be possible... not really sure.
Every single building is looking amazing! BUT OMG you're doing the Woolworth Building and it's looking so perfect, very good job. But coming from the guy who is modeling all lower Manhattan that's just a small piece of awesomeness.
Thanks Noah - great to hear from you. Yes, it would be great if we can get the sloped bridge working - a problem for another time maybe
Thanks Feyss - it's such a beautiful building it deserves an appropriate level of attention and detail. Wasn't easy though $%Grinno$%
Good idea Mushy... worth exploring for sure...
and JP.. where have you been hiding, good to see you back. Thanks for nice comments
I had this weird recollection of making 4 New York Plaza but it hadn't made a showing in any of my scenes.. turns out I only got it 95% completed then forgot about it. Not surprising really.. its a pretty unforgettable building :D. Here it is:
Some familiar issues made me out of the field for some time, but now I'm back :)
4 New York Plaza is looking very nice! It's interesting because due to your post I now have a better reference for a building I intend to model, the Silver Tower from SC3K (https://i.imgur.com/cSNE2Wl.png), which I noticed now is obviously based on the 2 New York Plaza :bnn:
These last two buildings (Alexander Hamilton US Customs House and 4 New York Plaza) are excellent, and both sooo different architecturally....you've done a great job with both ()stsfd()
Looking great on the latest buildings (1 BAT or 2?) &apls Regarding the bridge, whatever comes of it will be delightful! Whether the possible in theory sloped nature is practical or not will be found out eventually ;)
4 New York Plaza and it's neighbour looking well! It may not be the prettiest building but it would have its use in any SC4 city as a data centre or telecoms switch hub.
That building looks oddly familiar, besides being in real life, did it appear in Simcity 3000 too by chance?
Here is 20 Exchange Place.. or as good as I could get it. I underestimated the complexity of this building, and finding good references for some of the details was really hard. Hope its ok ::)

Thanks for nice comments on 4 NY Plaza.
Sorry Glenni, I don't have much knowldege about SimCity 3000.
It indeed looks really good!!
Nick
It looks awesome!
Really nice building you have there. Looks great.
Ooooh! Another beauty. Looks great.
Thanks everyone!
I have a treat for anyone who thinks there aren't enough churches in SC4. Does anyone think that? $%Grinno$%
This cute little gem of a building is nestled between two prominent skyscrapers on Manhattan's southern tip.
Our Lady of the Rosary Church:
And this one is also dwarfed by the buildings around it, located on Barclay Street just up from the Woolworth Building.
St Peter's Roman Catholic Church:

Soon.. the Trinity Church
(https://imageshack.com/a/img922/5185/PEV9Is.jpg)
And 3 new masterpieces to come !
Even without texture "Our Lady of the Church Rosary" catch my eyes intensely. :o
It´s always a treat for the Eyes to see you work on something mindblowing. You always find the right Attention to Detail and it´s always a pleasure to see your Progress.
"...who thinks there aren't enough churches in SC4. Does anyone think that?"
There sure are many Churches around, but it never hurts to have a few more, especially from Manhattan.
Those small Churches are looking amazing and the intricade Details are really popping out.
I´m sure the Trinity Church will turn out amazing as well. For a moment i thought that is the one that sadly burned down two Years ago (and might be demolished by now) but that´s another one. (Google says it´s the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Sava)
Can´t wait to see more of your Progress, keep up the astonishing Work and thanks for keeping SC4 alive.
Yes, we need more churches in SC4. I like choices. These look stunning. Can't wait to see how you texture these.
From the magnificent Venus Arcology to these gorgeous churches....that's some versatility!
Looking forward to using these in-game.
The churches are looking fantastic and it's always useful to have more choice available
Yea churches &apls Yes, there are churches in SC4, but high quality is always welcomed.
I like Our Lady of the Rosary Church. It is interesting looking and ... well ... ahem ... Georgian. :D
You've been busy my friend ;) Great work with lower Manhattan, I remember the headache that it gave when I was making my version $%Grinno$%
Lovely work on the churches - I'm curios how the Trinity Church will turn out :)
20 Exchange Place looks great to me - can't wait to plop it next to my 55 Wall Street ;D
Thanks everyone ;D
As promised, here's a couple of updates for Trinity Church. This is probably enough modeling detail for now, will have to see how it looks once I start texturing.
Trinity Church:

Interesting fact: When the 3rd (current) Trinity Church was completed in 1846, the tower was the tallest structure in Manhattan; and until 1869 was the tallest building in the US.
Waiting it &apls Thank You
Outstanding work as usual Even without textures your models look amazing. I do have one question regarding the Met Life Building. I f you plan to do it will you use the Met Life sign or will you go to the original Pan Am logo?
Outstanding modeling, great attention to detail. Love your work.
Love it. &dance
Especially the statues, you are really good at these (mine always end up looking like tin-can models...just as well I can texture over it, but yours don't need it) ;)
Wow, outstanding details on the model
Looking forward to the finished work!
Hmmm.. been a busy lately haven't had much time for BATing. Here's a couple of new ones and one in progress...
This is a bit of a surprise (at least to me) I always thought this was just a concrete bunker with a fan on top but actually up close is a little Art Deco gem, the Brooklyn Tunnel Exhaust buillding:
Castle Clinton.. meh...
And another little cutie, once finished, Pier A:
Thanks for the nice comments everyone ;D.
Unconstantean - no, Met Life is Mid town, I'm only doing south of Brooklyn Bridge. Maybe once I get done with that... $%Grinno$%
Matt - I think you've proved with your last BAT you're as amazing at statues as everything else you do
Edit: Just replaced all the images sorry, I didn't notice the previous set were all in shadow and facing the wrong way.
Tunnel fans in general are something that is lacking in simcity ... it will be a popular item for sure.
The tunnel building is looking great so far...and the pier looks like it will be a real gem
Wow, these models look amazing. Anyway you can convert these models for Cities Skylines? I neeeed those in my city lol.
These look fabulous! Where do you upload your work to? Would love to have some of them but I can't find them on the LEX or the STEX.
Hi!
I'm more or less speachless seeing all your awesome work. I have two questions?
1. Do you still plan to release more Australian/Melbourne buildings?
2. What was your 40th BAT upload? Was that the HD prop pack, because the description doesn't mention the number, and I can't find the number 40 upload.
Oaks on Collins, Melbourne, Australia is the 39th and Edificio Ilha De Bali is the 41st (between these two you only released the HD prop pack). It's just out of curiousity, because I had to redownload all your contents since I lost most of them last summer in a flashdrive crash...
Anyway thanks in advance...
- Tyberius
Thanks everyone. Sorry, long time between updates... nothing to show sorry just replying to the messages -
Sten - Thanks, not really sure what is required for Skylines though. Maybe one day when I get all these models finished and textured :shocked2:
PaPa-J - Thankyou. I have uploads on both STEX and LEX, but none of these southern Manhattan BATs have been finished or uploaded yet.
Tyberius - Thankyou. 1) Actually I'm working on a Melbourne BAT right now ;) 2) Yes I believe the HD Prop Pack was the 40th.
Hopefully I'll get some more time to BAT and post a proper update next time :)

And NO, this in no way an unofficial replacement or a fake substitute for the long awaited update by the original creator but instead just a sad and silly "I miss you post."
Hudge fan of recreating NYC and I am impressed with your work, just curious are you considering doings bats for Flushing Meadows-Corona park in particular the huge flying saucer towers?
Wow man, love the Trinity! :o
Fred
Oh my goodness, 2019 already.. what happened to 2018 ()what(). It seemed to disappear in a blink of an eye.
Well, since my last post, so long ago, I've been OS and had a Singapore Sling on the Singapore Flyer, and so to celebrate the New Year, I present the Singapore Flyer BAT. Hope you like it

Nb - I haven't scaled up yet, so looking a bit squashed.
I also happened to stay at a rather iconic hotel with a very famous rooftop pool, maybe look for that one soon ;) (Not that I've forgotten my existing projects, still bubbling away in the background, very slowly :) )
Thanks for previous nice comments too
No TheOlymipcs, sorry only doing south of Brooklyn Bridge.

MBS would be rather exciting to see! Been waiting to see who would take that on! :D
That wheel is magnificent. I really like how it's not just the wheel itself, but it has the building as a foundation. That makes it so much more interesting.
Happy 2019! The Singapore flyer looks brilliant  and the MBS would be a perfect bat for you <hint><hint> :D
The wheel is very interesting
but the rest of the building does not fit, sorry - too artificial and plastic for me ...
Yeah.. I think you just summed up my entire experience of Singapore in two words... "artificial" and "plastic" :D
I think you have a point though, I'll desaturate some of the colours and maybe add a bit of weathering to the traffic areas.
Thanks for comments and likes so far
...ok, hopefully this is a bit better. I'm a bit out of practice I think ::)

I like it &apls
It's an awesome "BAT".
The top - wheel, is OK, but if you could work on the textures of the bottom part ... , you know it ;)

Looks great  I realize the question is from quite a while ago but I'd just add that the settings in the terrain mod that affect water, particularly transparency depth and beach parameters, are really important for getting the shore details one's after. Diagonal and irregular coasts are tougher, especially if one prefers narrower beaches or less than 15m or so transparency. I usually play with JENX Poseidon water with its animated waves and have customized the color for different scenarios. Let me know if you ever get interested in water stuff again and I could try to get settings or water mods to accomplish whatever you're after
