I have gone through the steps for registering and received the confirmation email, but when i click the provided link, i get an error message:

Sorry ...I have a problem ...
<picture of a confused ape>
I have a problem with the data you entered.

You have entered invalid data !
The following seems incorrect ...
User Already Active ...
The System Quality Controler ... (picture above) ... is having problems with the data you entered..

Click the BACK button in your BROWSER and try again.

It also shows my IP address and a link for the webamster.  I'm running this in firefox, and clicking the link in my email creates a new tab, so the back button isn't an option.  I'm interested in the SC4 Datpacker, but can't look until I'm officially registered.  Thanks for any help.

On the LEX User list there is a san antonio who is now active so make sure if that is you that you put the space in when trying to sign in.

Are there plans for auto login to the exhange?  I have problems with remembering my passwords  %confuso
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: BarbyW on January 24, 2007, 11:39:50 PM
Mobius is registered and active. Jroc187 is registered but not active so do you want me to delete this username from the database?
Diggis, my windows set up remembers my passwords and fills it is automatically so I just have to input my name. I'm not sure of the procedure for getting Windows to do that %confuso but you should be able to do the same.

We have an issue on the auto login because the LEX runs as a sister site to the Forums ... we are sharing the same domain so we are a bit reluctant to modify the Forums cookie but we are investigating the issue.

In one of the prop packs (the latest CSX, I think), the descriptions says to "mark the file" or something like that since it will likely be updated.  How do you do that in the LEX? I thought the software did it automatically and I poked around a bit but I didn't see a way to track the file.  Thanks!

edit:  oh dang, I think I put this in the wrong thread.  sorry.  ()sad()

The LEX will do that for you. It actually says to track it which youwill do by looking at you Download history ;D

Post by: Colyn on March 01, 2007, 11:34:23 AM
Vab ... Barby had me worried too ...  :P

Truth is that the LEX automatically track everything that you have downloaded and will show a RED TAG if an update is available and you dont have it ... all visible in your Download History.

BTW ... is anybody using the Download List feature ?

Oh good, Colyn, glad I'm not the only one.   ;)  Actually, I think I did use the download list thingie and posted a question ... er, somewhere about its use.  That's the shopping cart-type feature, right?  What happens if you change your mind about downloading?  Is there an unselect option?

Hmm, tried logging in again, still no dice. &Thk/ (It's saying it doesn't recognise the login -- But I specifically know the login I registered for the LEX and it's the same as this one)...

Otherwise, great work on the exchange, it's a really good system. The category search is very very handy.

Make sure you are putting exactly the same username and password, including any capital letters, as when you registered. I cannot see any other reason why it is not working.

IE NAM Bridge controler PRE NAM 6/07.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01

I don't understand your question, Pat. Do you mean delete them from the LEX? They will remain locked for the time being and later may be deleted.
If you mean from your download list, then I have no  idea and will have to wait until ReLiC returns to query that.

Post by: callagrafx on June 18, 2007, 12:52:24 AM
I think he's referring to his download history...if so the answer would be probably not.  The history is a record of what you have downloaded for reference and is cumulative.  The fact that it shows which files have been updated is an added bonus.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: Pat on June 18, 2007, 09:23:10 PM

Yes Lee you are correct that is what i was refering to.  Ohh yes its very great thing to have but will the file that
i have such as the orginal nam bridge controler disappear after its deleted? That red X is driving me wacko LoL
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: wouanagaine on June 21, 2007, 06:36:10 AM
Regarding download history, I noticed that the download history only retain the date of the download ( even internally ) and as a result, If I download a file a 7:00 am and that file is updated later in the same day, the history tells me I'm uptodate but obviously not.

Hopefully I'm posting this in the right thread but I have been using the LEX for a few months and I love the great downloads available. Recently, however, I have been unable to view any images on the site even the login page image doesn't appear. Images still work in the forums though. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this and any possible soulutions? Any help in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's a screenshot showing how it looks. (It's like this on both firefox and IE)

Yeah, I've tried this in both IE and Firefox and it worked in neither. Also, if I right click where the image should be, go to properties and then copy and paste the address directly into my address bar I get this message:

Just curious about something: are the LEX downloads speed-limited? I'm trying to track down an internet connection problem, and this might hopefully sort out a few things.

I currently get a download speed of about 32kb/sec, whereas only a few days ago, I got download speeds of around 155kb/sec. Does the LEX get speed-limited to conserve bandwidth when it approaches its bandwidth limit?
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: BarbyW on August 22, 2007, 03:12:11 AM
As far as I know there is no speed limitation to conserve bandwidth. I have just downloaded at well over 100kps. You may have been unfortunate enough to be trying to download when work was being done on the LEX or it is your connection.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: Shadow Assassin on August 23, 2007, 05:40:47 AM
It's definitely my connection. But what's odd is that when I download from an Australian server, it gives me my normal connection speed, but when downloading from an international server (eg. SC4D's LEX server), I only get around 30 or so kbps.

Could be the ISP cartel here having a secret deal with the bandwidth providers. :P

Okay, I just have to interject here and say that you are being INCREDIBLY ungrateful!  $%Grinno$% lol

I'm LUCKY if I get a constant 30kbps! On average I get between 3 - 35kbps. I have never had more than that in my entire life! :P

Looking around a little bit, it seems it's a problem AT my ISP. But c'mon, I'm allowed at least a little ungratefulness - paying $70 a month for a 12GB quota (I go through about 4 or 5GB a month, tho) - it's all they're offering. :P

And I expect to get 1.5Mbits. That's what I'm paying through the nose for, and I expect it. :P Pages loading is as normal, it's downloading that's b0rked.

Hi, I would like to express that I really appreciate all your efforts setting up SD4 and keeping it running.
I've got a few questions / suggestions concerning the SCD BSC LEX:
How can I change my password?
I cannot find a logout button, for safety reasons I always prefer to logout from restricted sites. Do I oversee the logout button or is there none?
It would be helpful for downloaders if the upload date would be included inside the boxes containing the summary information of an upload.

Post by: BarbyW on September 23, 2007, 02:24:48 AM
There isn't a Log out button but you can change your password in your Profile which is accessed from a button in the left sidebar. Passwords are encrypted so you are safe as I can't even see them.  As for the upload date, that information is in the pop up for each upload as well as any update date.

having a problem getting into the LEX.  I was able to use it last night, but now clicking the various links from the main page takes me to the Register page.  The account is registered, as attempting to re-register returns the TM error page saying the account name already exists.  I had IE remember the password for me when I registered.  Could that be the problem?

edit: Oddly I can get in if I go thorugh a direct link to a file.  Trying to go in the "front door" results in asking me to register.

Dear sirs and madams,

Oh, so formal for me...

I think many of you know who I am.  I've been awfully busy and haven't had much time to spend around here, sadly...  But that will change.

Anyway, I've registered on the BSC file exchange.  That was several months ago.  I never received a confirmation e-mail for that.  If there's anyone who can rectify that problem, I would be most appreciative.  :)

Thanks for any and all forthcoming help.  :)

Smiley

Thanks for any and all forthcoming help.  Smiley

All your accounts are showing as active so you must be making an error in typing in your password. If you still cannot access the LEX let me know which username you wish to use and I will set up a new password for you.

Hi guys,

Got some kind of a problem here. Whenever I enter the main/index page, I log in immediately, which obviously works! But when i'm going to the 'boxes' link (dependencies list) It says that I'm not logged in anymore (there's again 'welcome guest' message in the top left of the page).

What am I doing wrong or is it just something else? (I already have downloaded content from the BSC and from the dependencies list)

Thanks
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: BarbyW on February 18, 2009, 06:18:37 AM
The Dependency List is hosted on the forums so you need to be logged in here and on the LEX  to use them at the same time.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: oka02 on February 18, 2009, 07:40:36 AM
Thank you for your response!

but the problem still exists. I am logged in at both the forum and LEX, still I get the same problem. from one page to the other (forum to dependencies list) the websites does not recognize me anymore as being logged in...
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: BarbyW on February 18, 2009, 07:48:54 AM
I have just tried it and you are correct but it doesn't matter as you can return to the forums from there and you will still be logged in. I shall report this to Jeroni.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: callagrafx on February 18, 2009, 07:52:16 AM
The dependency list is actually part of Joomla and the databases are synchronised, but only one way.  You need to log in via the home page (http://www.sc4devotion.com) and then you should also be logged into the forums.  Not sure if there's a way for the bridge to work both ways, as they have separate cookies.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: oka02 on February 18, 2009, 08:15:57 AM
That does not work either. Because when i'm here at the forums logged in (as well as on the LEX) and i go directly to the dependency list, i'm logged out again, becoming the friggin guest again  &cry2 (its actually not really a problem since i have found my dependencies already  :))

thanks anyway!
(now im back to the addiction)

Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: Diggis on February 18, 2009, 08:20:22 AM
Hmmm, I'm not sure exactly what the problem is.  Are you logged out of the forums when you try and access the boxes page, or are you not able to download a dependency when you click the link?  Or both?  If it's both, then chances are you don't have cookies enabled.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: callagrafx on February 18, 2009, 08:27:46 AM
Actually, it's a bit of a head scratcher, as I'm logged in on the home page but when I access the article it logs me out....however, even logged out I can access the list and because I'm already logged into the LEX, I can download a dependency.  Check that your internet settings are set to allow all cookies, as Diggis intimated.
Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: oka02 on February 18, 2009, 08:45:34 AM
My cookies are enabled.

edit: I am logged in on both LEX and forum, so when i go from Lex to forum everything is OK, but when i go from LEX or forum to dependencies list (via main index page) im a guest again (whilst I'm at the index page I'm stilled logged in)
When I go back from the dependencies to the forum, I'm logged in again.

It sounds more like a browser/cache problem. What browser are you using? I know there can be problems with both Firefox and Google Chrome. If you are using either of those I would suggest trying in IE first. Also empty your browser cache.

Has anyone else been having trouble uploading files to the LEX lately?
It seems the file upload drops out straight away after I hit "click to upload" (upload speed quickly drops to 0kb/s.)
About two minutes later a generic FireFox page pops up saying that the server was reset during the upload, however I've been trying for the last 24 hrs and still haven't had any success.

The .zip file is 7.85MB, which is within the cap I believe.

That is probably too big... don't ask me why... even if the size limit is supposed to be 10 MB, there's always been problems uploading files exceeding 7 MB.
Send the zip file in an e-mail to me, or upload it temporarily somewhere else where I can access it.
I won't need any LEX images or descriptions. I'll let you know how to proceed after I've got the file.

This may not be the right place to post this, but I'm going to try anyway. I recently re-downloaded Jenx Paris Diagonals by Xannepan and all of the dependencies for it. They do not work and I think that I know why. The readme says that "Maxis Amil Offset 22", is included with the download but it is NOT. I'm guessing that this is the problem, so my question is, simply; Does anyone know how/where I could it? Please and Thanks, in advance. -Vince

I have problems with the Power Search option in the LEX.  I select the type of file I wish to look at, e.g., Parks - Eyecandy (and only that - no other selections). Then click on the search button and nothing happens or if it does, it takes a long time to load.  Downloads are also slow.

When I use the Google search, I am able to get quick response with search results but then getting to the selected search items is very much like trying to use the Power Search - ver slow if any response at all.

I am using a Windows 7 computer with IE 9.

Please note, I have no problem logging in or seeing the LEX new file page.

Any help is appreciated.  Thank you.

I'm trying to download a lot of Colyn's, the rural spring water and it doesn't have the option to download. Also, when I look up Colyn's lots and I click on page 2 (or any other page) I get the "can't find it" error. Is there something going on with the LEX?

That is a new problem for sure. Someone who's been around as long as you shouldn't have any problem with the download button.  ???  Some of the LEX functions went katter wonky this weekend. An SOS has been sent. Thanks for the notice.

I'm trying to download this bsc LEX downloader as we speak but at the bottom of the page it is saying i need these 2 downloads in order for the downloader itself to properly work: "MSVCP71.DLL" & "gdiplus.dll".

But whenever i click on either one of those links, absolutely nothing happens.
I've tried opening either link in a new tab and page and the website just keep loading and loading and loading without anything ever happening.

Almost all of the tools that Woaunagaine wrote require those two DLL files. They are available many places ... here is one link to a DLL download site.

I have been going through the whole thing page by page downloading content and left off on page 112 and was hoping to be able to get back there and pick up where i left off.

Thanks in advance, Joe

Hi Joe, and welcome to SC4D! In case you're browsing the "Latest" pages, it's actually fairly easy to start off at a certain page. Use this link after adjusting the 309 to whatever page you wish to restart at.

That's really strange - I've just went through the process myself and it worked just fine. Make sure that you're typing your password and username correctly and if that doesn't work, you could try running the password form again. If it still doesn't work I'll manually change your password for you.

I hope this is the right place to post this,  if not then I know I am in trouble.

I have been outdoors since june, and out of the country as well.  my questions is what happened to the LEX???  it was so much easier for me to find things,  now it looks like a blog gone bad.  cant find a main page, to see where everything is at. I used to go through and use it by pictures to find exactly what I wanted.  now I cant find diddley at all.  (and cant spell for crap either) especially those long names for files or dep stuff.

Is there (I Pray) a older version up and running somewhere, so I can find what I am looking for?  or is this the way of things now.??  and why?  I ask because I am re doing the whole SC4D, because it tends to do a lot of CTD of late.  so finding what I need is like trying to find a needle in a haystack 20 miles tall.   I am hoping that its my computer that is not letting me see the LEX correctly.

Assuming you used the link on the left side of the home page (or any page) nested under file exchange, and it's not working, then have you tried resetting your browser cache?

A number of changes to the LEX affected old cached pages stored in your temp files, and clearing the cache made all of my problems go away.

Yea cleared my Cache out.  dumped all the browsers, cleaned out the computers temp files, even had to reformat my computer (nothing to do with here) BUT, I still get a weird set of pages,  downloaded a few things I never seen before and then got a quota denial limit.  what is going on around here of late,  looks to me like a project gone horribly wrong. some way to fix this for me..  well just read another person is getting a denial of service quote thing too.

Title: Re: SC4D Lex ... Support Questions V01
Post by: CasperVg on November 28, 2013, 04:08:41 AM
It is available right now actually, if you are using a recent version (IE9 or better) web browser. To get access to it, you will need to go to

- Log out of your current LEX session
- Go to http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex
- Clear your cache
- Reload the page (alternatively, on some browsers press Ctrl+F5 to reload the page and clear the cache automatically)
- Log in using the login form on that page
- "Download later" should show up next to search results, etc.

It might look like a lot of work to get that feature working, but we're currently moving to a new (better) login system, which is why newer features require that you perform a clean re-log in to get them to work once.

I have found two issues while uploading to lex...

1. "Dependencies for this lot. For more information about the required format, see this thread" - 'this thread' link points to http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?action=forum

2. I've made an error while uploading file - selected png images instead of jpg, I get an error with link 'try again' (or similar ;) ) so I hit this, reedited upload info but... upload button was gray - so I had to create upload info from scratch.

Currently to view lex item details we have to click 'More info & download' button (on http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_lotlist.php?orderBY=recent), please add same function to item image and title, now you have to click on this 'small' button rather than bigger image :)

Your wish has been granted, Yild. Albeit a bit late. Clicking on the preview image in search results will now also open up the lot details page.
You may have to clear your browser cache before it works.

I have a question and i'm not sure if this thread is right place as it's concerning a wrong dependency for one of those buildings on LEX.

Please move this to correct thread for me if this post is not in this thread rightfully - thanks.

I tried to download a building of Cromwell Estate on LEx (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=282) and I downloaded all dependencies listed in this page but unfortunately, one of dependencies was incorrect (wrong file/reference).  Several people have got same problem recently.

Thanks to TheTeaCat, it was due to a wrong dependency listed in readme file/LEX page.

Wrong file/reference was CSX MEGA Props - Vol03.

Corrected file/reference was CSX MEGA Props - Vol05 (v1.0).

I can't find any link or button on that LEX page to report that the file was broken or something like that hence I post this in this thread instead, and maybe someone with power/admin can correct this LEX page for the people's convenience.

Thank you for making the correction.  And happy holidays/happy new year to you.

Diego

Sorry if this has been asked answered before (didn't have much luck searching the site so far)

Isn't the file exchange supposed to track my downloads? It has a few old versions of NAM in my downloads history but the past few days I've been installing CAM and all of its dependency's on top of each other because it wont track which things I already downloaded and instead of downloading what I don't have it grabs the full dependency list for each grow-able type.

I really hope there is just something I'm doing wrong because this really makes installing anything new an absolute chore having to go through 20 + dependency's that I probably already have installed.

First problem: the CAM has no dependencies. See this article (https://simtarkus.wordpress.com/2013/04/26/the-cam-colossus-addon-mod-separating-fact-from-fiction/) by Tarkus.

Second, provided you haven't moved the files from when you first installed them, reinstalling them should not be much of an issue in terms of game performance (though it may be a bit of a pain to run through). The new install will overwrite the originals, but no duplicates mean that the game won't slow down and ultimately you won't be taking up any more space on your Hard Drive either.

I actually keep a copy of every Plugin Zip file I download, so that if I download it twice, Windows tells me (because I don't change the filename from what the creator named it).

As for the LEX not tracking your download history, I am at a loss. Maybe we can invoke Casper to appear and work his magic in figuring out the issue.

Specifically I'm referring to the CAMLots which gives CAM itself some volume and variety and do require a lot of dependency's. Im not worried about duplicate files as you said it will just overwrite anything it encounters. It is just tedious as hell. If LEX tracked which dependency's i already grabbed it wouldn't be nearly as big as a headache if at all.

Would be wonderful if you could get someone to look into it for me.

For the sake of it Win 10 64 bit Google Chrome cookies shoudl be allowed but i am running addblock plus.

Hello Jmouse.
I just checked here http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_search_00.php and I indeed show up on that list.

Hi Casper (and support staff),

I was trying to do a LEX search for all available Monorail train mods (for my HSR networks). The power search seemed to work fine, but in trying to get a more inclusive list, I tried for a custom Google search, and discovered that it doesn't seem to be working, at least on my end for me.

Could we see if this is happening for anyone else? FWIW, I tried on Firefox (my main browser), and double-checked on Chrome to make sure Firefox wasn't being stubborn (which happens more often than I'd like).

Also, while we're here, I'd ask if anyone knows where to find a mod that puts TGV trains on your HSR network, but obviously this isn't exactly the most appropriate place for that question (but since we're here...).

Well assuming you've found a TGV train you want to use, if it's for Rail, all you need to do is re-ID the files in it to override the Monorail instead of rail. Arne posted a helpful listing of these IDs here (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=22.msg150#msg150). :)

I did happen to find what I was looking for on ToutSimCities (a file by Girafe/Antoine, actually), though my real question was whether or not the custom Google search was working properly on the LEX. Thanks for the conversion tip; I think all the files I found were for passenger rail, not HSR/Monorail, so that will come in handy.

Does it work as expected for you? All I got was a blank page, and that was with even the most basic of searches, like "trains", "CAM", and "BSC".

Google search works fine on my end, both on Firefox and Chrome.

May I ask for a little luxury in this thread?

I think, a nice link back from the LEX to SC4D would be something luscious.

You know, I'm used to klick in the right upper to jump from SC4D to the LEX and I always look in the right upper there too, to quickly get back to SC4D again.

This file page is a bit bugged: http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=2835

1) It somehow has more downloads then views.
2) The download dependencies link leads to the users development thread.

1) Obviously a glitch in the code somewhere, but it shouldn't affect anything about the download.
2) Only bad link on download page appears to be for "BAT Prop Pack Vol 01 by DaveN."  The link in Dependency Tracker is correct.

Whenever I go to download anything from my download list it gives me this:

{"status":0,"error":"Query error: SQLSTATE[23000]: Integrity constraint violation: 1062 Duplicate entry '21828689' for key 'PRIMARY' - INSERT INTO LEX_DOWNLOADS (USRID, LOTID, SIZE, DATEIN) VALUES\n                (:usrid, :lotid, :size, :now)","suggestion":"Report to site administrator"}

... and it doesnt download, is removed from my download list and marks the item as downloaded.

EDIT: I also discovered (not sure if this is normal behaviour?) that something on my download list but not downloaded will show "You have downloaded this 0 times ... last 2017/11/24" on the lot page.

The same thing has been happening to me, hope this can be fixed I spent hours gathering my list.

It seems like the database table was corrupted. It has been repaired, and downloading files from the download list seems to work again (at least for me).

That message has been funky ever since the download list was originally added years ago. I've adjusted it to be more informative now. Files that are on the download list should display "You have placed this file on your download list on 2018-06-07" now.

hello, after a long absence, a year, I come back on LEX and there, oh surprise, I discover that my download history no longer exists  :(; can you get it back?
Thank you in advance.
