some of you may know me from ST and my CJ Olympus City. I have decided to continue on my CJ here. I hope to have some new updates for you as I am working on some new things for my city. Please come back again and check out whats going on! thanks!

ok guys the CJ must go on. its been a very busy two weeks for me with RL stuff but i was able to manage to do an update and let you guys know whats going on at Olympus City.

OLYMPUS CITY WEEKLONG HEAVY RAINS LEADS TO RESEVOIR COLLAPSE!

Olympus City, Olympus. ( Olympus City Press O.C.P. )  After a weeklong of heavy rains and storms, Olympus City was partially washed out to the bay. The Mount Olympus Resevoir, which resides on Government Hill, gave way to flooding waters causing massive flooding in the central part of the city leaving behind a wide canal in the main center of the city. Heavy damage was reported with the city torn in half. Approximately 200,000 Olympians were washed out into the bay reported to be missing or dead. rescue and cleanup efforts are now to be reported to take years. With the opening of the new Olympus City C.B.D. weeks away, the Olympus City Republican Government are now planning to move all the Olympians to the newer part of the city which is the C.B.D. The new part of the city can occupy roughly 400,000 people. The C.B.D. Project was to double the City size and population. Now that Olympus City is severed in half, The C.B.D. is more likely going to be the new Olympus City for the damage is too significant that the damaged buildings still up would cause a safety issue. The soil is so weak that even the ground can't the full weight of a human. More news to follow once it comes in.

The collapse of the Mount Olympus Resevoir destroyed the central part of the city severing the city in half.

Brief History of Olympus City, its now in the year 1014 so its gone through 2 going 3 transitions. the second one occurred after it was 75% destroyed from the War of the Republics with Cherry Oaks, and now its going through a 3rd transition after the great resevoir collapse. I do believe this 3rd transformation will expand the city over 3-5 large city tiles depending on final region designs...The CBD was 3 weeks off and on work and will be unveiled in my next update so stay tuned!  For further reading if you would like to read history of Olympus City, please go to my CJ http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=36&threadid=84734

Cali's got it right, I think.  Although I heard it happened when wouanagaine walked across a carpet on a dry day and touched a doorknob.

For all that you've been waiting for:

Ok guys been a whiles since my last update...RL is hitting hard right now also since im starting to play more poker nowadays and stuff.....but dont worry you guys will be glad to wait this long for this update bc this is something ive been working on for the past month secretly and the flooding my last update opened up the door to my new unveiling of the new Olympus City C.B.D. the new Olympus City version 3.0 I still got a long ways to go with it bc my new project spans over 3 large city tiles aside from the C.B.D and a revitalization of the old Olympus City.  Here is a brief description of the CBD. the central mainland is the downtown area and the two islands are future development which i cant say right now bc its a secret project :P the city is on a dual level terrain with the lower levels along the natural canals which was a pain the shape bc since i used jeronijs seawalls they had to be perfect.... the islands are a lower level so there are  lower level transit connections connecting the lower parts there are two major bridge crossings where there is a tri-level bridge crossing linking the parts of the area together...... ok enough of me talking and more of showing pics:

Cool stuff. great way to start a CJ. I myself am reclined to use the disasters so it is great tos ee some in action here.

Great city you've got. Grown or plopped? (of course the res cannot be plopped)

Thanks for the comments guys! In replies to your questions:

Gaston: 2ch.net.simplayer made a asian BAT set and so did the HK team. The Chinatown was a pain to grow manually and some didnt grow so i ended up plugging some holes but majority is grown.

niknik: majority of the city is grown cep what i mentioned above to Gaston.

More great looking pics.  You might take a look at a couple of the downtown areas- I think you got a repeated "trophy" big building or two that you might want to consider replacing- everything else is pretty much perfect.

hey guys thanks for all the comments and for the honor of being a classic MD im hoping to come out with an update this week once i finish Lotting the  767 airplanes for the upcoming 767 pack 1...and also to answer some questions and comments

Heinz: im planning on making the rural areas and such around the city once i finish the main city i have some upcoming projects for the city such as the seaport, airport, and naval and military bases, along with the rural areas its a long process which i hope to accomplish since im also now into the world of lotting and also since were planning on making 4 airport 767 packs so yeah so busy i am  :-\

dedgren and rooker: i have on my spare time gone back and killed some of the clones so its not so repetitive...if only there was a way to prevent a building from replicating itself so many times!  :'( i just installed the no maxis building mod so i hope it helps also...

again thanks for the comments and i hope to make an update this week!

Well this is a teaser update so hope u guys anticipate when i have a full update ready...i just started playing again since we all finished the 767 livery pack version 1 so i decided to start work on Olympus City's Airport which is called sensou kinenhi international airport (war memorial international airport) its a japanese name honoring the war veterans from the Battle of the Republics that i had going on in my CJ at ST months ago..so paying homage...anyways i have the runways done and am working on the massive taxiway system which is a pain right now so i decided to take a break and design it on paper so i can get a better visual and idea on how to build it... sorry for the dark pic i didnt realize it was already afternoon!  ??? this will be a huge airport when finished so hope u like the teaser!

ok guys heres teaser update number 2 hopefully in the next 2-3 days i should have a full update knowing how massive this airport is.....i now have the taxiway system done...took me several hours to do and 5 airport diagrams to look upon....i decided to use the DFW taxiway layout bc it was well designed and it would go well with the 4 runway system i still have some terraforming to do for the terminal area and also some terraforming to do for the runways ive started terraforming the runways area if u noticed on the lower center of the pic and know how crappy my mouse is its going to be a pain to get it how i want it stayed tuned!! also if u have and opinions on how to make it better then i would appreciate it in case u do be accurate with ur advice i felt this was the best possible taxiway system i could do with the 4 runways..... hehehe sorry guys i gotta eyecandy update for ya this time i know u guys are waiting to see the whole airport and the update will come most likely after this one but anyways the eyecandy part is about done for the terrain surround the runway part of the island next i will connect the left side of the runway island with the airport area port of the island and start working on it so expect some early shots of the airport area and dont worry they wont disappoint u....hehe

thanks for the comments guys i am redesigning the airport terminals and concourses layout to make it more extensive expect an update later this week / early next week ive been spending countless hours tweaking the livery collection bat pack 1 for the past few days since i took up modding as well to fix the stats on the lots and now things are starting to roll my way so the crash course which i taught myself to mod is now finally paying off and id like to thank the people who have helped me...you guys know who u are  :thumbsup:

Now that you all have been waiting for....Introducing Sensou Kinenhi International Airport. After 10 hours of getting atleast half this airport finished, I can finally show you a more indepth look of the airport. I also included the upcoming Livery Pack....yes it will be released. Voltaire, if you have stumbled onto my update please make sure you read your PM. Thanks. Whats left to do on the pack is sprucing it up and make some finishing touches. Here's a sneak preview of the different possibilities you can do to your airport with the livery packs. Anyways here are some details on SKI:

A mass transit rail system within the airport linking the airport to Olympus City and also the ability to transport passengers around airport to their gates.

Construction is underway to add 2 more concourses totaling the number of concourses to 5.

3 Concourses serve as major hubs to Japan Airlines, Air New Zealand and KLM Dutch Airlines.

2 Concourses server as a Euro Hub which has 4 major Euro Airlines such as British Airlines and Air France to name a few and a US Hub which consists of 5 US major Airlines such as US Airways, and Continental.

Total number of Airlines that will service SKI: 12

Total number of gates when the other two concourses are completed: 102

rooker: the reason the airport appears to be big is that it is a full real life scale airport using 16m= 1 tile. the runways are over 3000ft in equivalence enough for a 747 to land. actually if u calcuate the length of the airport terminals using the 16m=1 tile formula, the airport is actual of RL scale that matches some of the terminals like kansai intl airport which is the longest airport terminal in the world at 1.7km in real sense i topped their airport bc i did the conversion and my terminals length from beginning to end was 2.1 km  :). as for in terms of terminal size the number of gates also reflect to real life scale for in actual airports there are actual more than 102 gates such as DFW having over 129 gates. i hope this reassure everyone that the airport isnt oversized and that my intentions was to build a RL scale airport. jeroni: i love your bridge and it turned out perfect i cant wait til you make it a double decker bridge and connect the rail function that would ultimately work out beautifully with the airport transportation system....kansai aiport has actually just a railroad/road bridge connecting their airport.

For you viewers i now have small update on the teaser.......introducing Olympus City's bridge to prosperity......i havent named it yet and i ask for your guys creative names for it....japanese names would also be preferred as well. it was a pain and a half to created the two major anchors specially the one with the avenue going under it as for the column bases that was even harder because i had to make a set of 1x1 terrain to create the base so it was made like this:

thats one massive airport! That livery pack looks great as well, can't wait ot get my hands on that. I love the way you've done the bridges in this lates update, although I think those walls of concrete are maybe a little out on their own, how about trying a smaller version with Jero's BATs.

Oh nice bridge, I love the way you have loads of different levels of transport networks! I do think the big embankments under those roads look a little unrealsitic, why not try putting some land across there and putting in one of PEGs wide shipping canals instead. this would allow shipping through still (well theoretically) and it would give you room to put some support industries and parking lots for example.

yeah i noticed that also but had not other way to approach it bc if i make a bridge on level terrain as the port itll be too lay for ships to pass so that was the best solution.....i would use the canal sets but i wanted to give it a more realistic look using the terrain. im also open to any other ideas to improve the look of the port as well

Hey guys! i finally had some time after a month to make more progress in my city.... after a city hiccup i was able to start on the new port. i wasnt feelin the first design so i did a huge over haul. Impressive port area. I do suggest 2 things though, Don't have the rails snake through the containers, a bit pointless, just add a BSC crane or something to transport the containers onto the tracks, and change that rail texture, its ugly :P

Hey guys ive decided to take the long road in creating my citie's seaports...literally...just as ennedi did with hers with her creating a seaport the hard way i will be doing the same if u guys like my diagonal container warehouse port i lotted, u will like this current one im working on which is almost done. whats left is adding automata props and people props n such. this current lot is a 19x8 lot with rail access and also serves as a seaport.....the lot is not functional just eyecandy but if anyone would like to mod it for me that would be awesomei would really appreciate it. well enough of me talking heres the teaser shot:

Ryan- It's great to see another MDer with an interest in ports.  They're a fascinating subject in and of themselves, and are so poorly done in the "vanilla" game.  You're getting a lot of good feedback, and I'll hope to see you continue your LOTting efforts, which I'm sure will be appreciated by many.

thanks for the comments everyone and David's especially. I do have some bad news. That current lot i was working on became corrupted for some strange reason so ill have to start from scratch. I never really was impressed with it so I will redo it again. David, this is a lil side project of mine im doing while ya ready up the icons and query. Also to keep my lotting skills sharp and to further refine my skills with LE. Hopefully with this lil project. Itll make lotting those diagonal runways a piece of cake!  :thumbsup:

PS. I am also interested if someone can texture me diagonal sidings on my diagonal warehouse set. im looking for a sort of base texture that has part grass part concrete texture diagonal wise meaning example   |  grass \ concrete texture | and also someone who can make a diagonal fence prop or direct me to a prop pack that has one. If this can be done then the diagonal warehouse set will look seemless and not so edgy.  thanks everyone. im sure people are tired of having that choppy diagonal issue with their cities.

****Special Super Typhoon Kurusaki Coverage****

Evacuations are now underway as this massive typhoon approaches Olympus City. The impact shows a direct hit with catastrophic conditions imminent. Typhoon Kurusaki, now upgraded to a Super Typhoon, is packing winds as much as  410km with sustained winds as high as 520km. Kurusaki is approaching from the southeast. This is a very dangerous Typhoon. The massive typhoon is making forecasters and meteorologists have a difficult time to gather efficent data about the storm due to the fact that the computer instruments used to track this storm are spitting out inaccurate data making the landfall and closeness of the typhoon very hard to predict. The winds recorded were taken from one of the reconnaissance aircrafts before they mysteriously lost contact with the plane. Images from space that was taken from the U.S. Shuttle Discovery shows the massive hurricane heading towards Japan. One forecaster even noted that it could be 3 days til it makes landfall or as much as a week. This massive storm's outer rain bands are already whipping up the city with steady rain and gusty winds making evacutation efforts very difficult.

The Olympus City Air Battalion are transporting the evacuees and flying them away from the city in their C130 Yamamoto Battleships with the capacity amount of 5000 evacuees per ship. The Olympus City Air Battalion currently have 500 ships in commission. They will then be flown to the Olympus protectorate state of Isshin where they will reside until a comprehensive plan regarding the new home of the Olympians is established. There will be 25 airships transporting evacuees every day for the next 4 days. Officials are urging citizens to bring whats most valuable to them and to limit what they bring.  The government is hoping that the super typhoon makes landfall after the evacuations are completed but one cannot predict the storm of this magnitude. Environmentalists are blaming global warming and people polluting the air as a result of this massive typhoon..

thanks for all the comments guys and welcome russell to my MD. the pictures i took from my city were edited by porter in photoshop, we decided to do a dual update and link up our MDs requiring us to have a similiar tie in to both our events....as for the typhoon n such i found some cool pics using google image search. a new update will be out sometime this week, i already have it ready but im preparing for the next few updates after it so stay tuned! :thumbsup:

@ mas san, domo arrigato gozaimasu for visiting my MD as for your lovely ship, I tried to make it dock like how you did it with your docked version lot. as for it being partially underwater thats perfectly fine. its not suppose to show the whole ship since its on water  :thumbsup: about my last updates im glad that you like them and also it was porter san that made those pics for me. my next on the list to do is add those those ship building BATs that one of your Japanese BATter colleagues made. he based it off your ship  ;) anyways feel free to stop by anytime mas san!

Hey guys! I finally had some free time to work on my latest update. What you see here is Krakura Airship Naval Port, a Olympus City naval installation located in the Olympus commonwealth protectorate of Isshin. This area was built in secret after the Olympus City / Cherry Oaks war as a expansion base for future territory developments. The Olympus City Secret Operative Military Force or O.C.S.O.M. is based there although they are rarely seen except for some heavily guarded areas of the base where a sleuth of them are seen protecting unknown portals that are linked underground. Also the Krakura's Airship Naval Personnel are stationed here too.  It was never intended to become a major evacuation point for Olympus City citizens and development plans for the new evacuees are now being formed. As Super Typhoon Kurosaki approaches Olympus City, evacuations to this base was ordered. You will see some pics of the base before the evacuation ships arrive.  Hope you all enjoy!

A underground entrance without an exit, some say it leads to a multi level underground secret facility where even airship personnel needs clearance to enter or else they will be shot without warning......

Some say that before the Airship Naval Port was constructed, the Olympus City Government sent a private engineering brigade to the area first to "scout the area" before they sent the rest of the team that had built and designed the port which took 10 years for them to give the rest of the team the go ahead.

woo have I been busy with my city lately. since i was rather broke to go out last night mainly bc my paycheck didnt come in the mail  :angrymore: i stayed up all night to work some more on my port  ;) two updates in a week?!?! woah it really is the end of the world!!  ::) i still have more work to do on it i just downloaded more stuff from the Japanese BAT sites but anywho, here goes it:

to all: thanks for commenting and its just the beginning! even though RL is busy busy with record label work and my dayjob working for a merchandising company and my social life as well ive been able to adapt and squeeze some SC4 time in as well when i am off so expect more updates from now on ...i hope if not ill make sure to bring huge updates for all to see til the next big one...

The mysterious agency that have occupied the sub levels of the airship base have torn down the warehouses and have added some strange portal and some very large radio dishes and is heavily guarded. Noone knows why they got rid of the warehouses and the purpose of the large dishes and portal.  ()what() The only thing that personnel knows is that if they even dare try to find out the truth, their lifespan will be shortened by a single bullet.

Can't really say I love those ships as I'm a realism guy. But there is no denying that you've based them in a realistic and highly pleasing to look at area. The second mosaic reminds me of the American base in Japan, with a huge naval installation with Carriers and everything right next to small Japanese homes, great work.

Awesome job, filasimo!  Looks like you put quite a bit of work into your update.  The Japanese homes look especially impressive; I don't think I've seen a Japan-themed city.  Lots of Chinese and Hong-Kong style, but Japan seems to get left out quite a bit...that's my perception, anyways.  You've done a nice job giving this style its due time in the spotlight, I think...%wrd

And of course, that shrine is superb! Great update :thumbsup:!

hey guys been very busy with things but id like to show my latest endeavor i will be doing for the city and hopefully soon coming to a LEX near you  ;) i am developing a asia W2W megalot pack equipped with seasonal cherry blossom trees and random people props... also one neat lil feature is that if you place say a 4x3 megalot on one road and another 4x3 megalot behind it on the next road, the wider the back alley will be. this will be a 12 lot set of varying sizes ranging from a 4x3 megalot to a 6x3, 8x3, and a 10x3. they will be backwards CAMpatible so you can use them in your CAM cities or non CAM cities. once the legal permissions are granted this hopefully should be out sometime next month, then again stay tuned!  :thumbsup: anywho here are some early shots:

hey guys just wanted to let you all know that i have been trying to get this together with as much free time i have the past few weeks but the city isnt turning out the way i wanted it to.... guess i made rookie mistake of rebuilding a specific plugin folder for my asian theme city since i was getting more american style buildings n such.... :-[..... but not anymore. now this is where the good news and bad news is:

good news: i built a more accurate plugins folder with all the asian stuff that is out.
bad news: ill have to dezone the portion of the city i was working on and rezone it after i slip in the new plugins folder.

with that being said this MD is alive and well and i should be able to do some work on it once i make the switch tonight. the past several weeks i have been slammed with work with my dayjob and also work with managing the local band here and supporting their completion of the upcoming CD Stonecrossing "Tension" which the story behind that was I was talking to the lead singer of the band and had misheard him saying Tension for the CD name and he was actually talking about the band needs my attention while making this CD so yeah there you have it the name for the CD was born. I will try to see how much i can work on this city tonight and have one big update. Next week ill be busy yet again with work and band stuff since we will be shooting their new music video starting next week. wish my luck guys!

Hey guys wooo been a while since i gave you all an insight to the city....well after losing my original region when it got corrupted, i had to start all over....well i thought, why dont i start on the city next time and redesign the airship naval port and town to make it even better? so this time i started on the right flank of the city......how this will pan out is that the skyline will stretch across the coast and across will be the town and airship naval port, what i was really intending on doing. anywho here are some shots of the side of the city where there are some dense residential areas......the city's current pop is just about 150k atm and will grow even higher once i start moving towards the central part of the city. well enjoy!!

To everyone who has commented:

Thanks guys for the great comments and you all havnt seen nothing yet. I am currently working on the central expansion of the city and just finished creating and updating a zoning guide i wrote down on paper on what I will be using for the skyline on the central part and also will be updating the HK towers i had wrote down on paper. Its very tedious work to write down lot sizes for 150 buildings and counting that I will be using for this huge city, then planning on where to place them to make the city well rounded. Hey guys,

yeah its been a long while since I made an update been very busy dealing with band managing ( which can be a pain ) and also been real sick the past few weeks and probly will be sick for another few weeks since after my doctors visit last week had told me i had a post nasal drip coupled with one of the following: walking pneumonia or pertusis ( walking cough). they werent certain which one i had because im going through symptons that they both share. also just recently they have been doing tests on my liver due to finding some deposits. despite all of that olympus city is still good and i may have an update in due time just all i can say for now is to keep me in your prayers guys and to

Hey guys probly wondering where I have been...well RL comes and takes ya over so been busy with that...BUT lately I have had a little bit of free time and in the SC4 MD spirit.  :thumbsup:   We will turn back the pendulum before Olympus City was well Olympus City and a new story will unfold of the early days. I just started 2 days ago and its going to be a tedious process due to alot of terraforming. But at the end it will be quite something else...anyways here is something for now til i get more done...enjoy!

Ok kiddos.....just thought I would post a update on whats going on...The storyline wont start until this major custom project is done. Apparently this will be bigger than i thought. Ive decided to create a series of personal custom lots for this MD so from then on I will show development from time to time of its progress. The pics shown are development shots of lots that I have done so far....I think my best approach first is to get the area prepped:
i.e. terrain editing, adding rivers, pathways etc. first then go to doing the lots...after each area i terrained is done...anyways thanks for all your replies and as always STAY TUNED!  :thumbsup:

@ pilo...terraforming was a pain and actually im farther ahead than you think  ;) most of it is done now..its just the matter of future updates when itll pop up  :satisfied:

Wow....that looks like a lot of work.  I'm not too big on this type of terrafroming, but I'll reserve my comments on that until you have everthing done.  I'm sure it will look better than I am imagining it. 
As for your LOTting, that looks great.  I see you figured out the stair problem you had.
I await the final product although I do know that might not be for some time.
I wish you would update more often my friend.  It always a pleasure to see what you are up to.

To quote porter...Daaaang.  I pretty much hate doing terraforming stuff (though its nice to look at) the amount you have done must have taken extreme patience.  I like the custom lots of course  ;)  Oh and the garden stuff is prettyful.  Haha well I'll talk to you later.   ;D
