this is a project I have been working on for at least 6 months now and is almost complete. So I would share it with you all to have a gander of what this madman has come up with this time while locked up in his padded room - this entire this is nothing but props - I know the roads dont match up quite right so dont complain. Like I say it has taken me 6 months to work on thtis thing. so deal with it  :D

This is much more than a lot, it's similar to a beautiful painting.    There were a few lots like this in SC3U where users had created a wonderful ambiance of the environment.  What would make this spectacular is if you would make some surrounding lots that were smaller so that players could create a whole mining scene... like we're doing with waterfront lots.

I have a question about your good BAT "CCPW Canal Park Walk"
http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=418"

Q1 - I want to your help about DEPENDENCIES of your BAT.

Look this Pics please.

Oh! Thank you VESTER san very much!!
It's my big mistake about "BSC_ReversePathOverlays_Grass_v1.dat".
That is ABC of first of BSC team's work it is. &ops

and
I compleated Dependencies files of this BAT  with SC4Tool , ilive-reader , and helps my friend Mas'71!!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg246.imageshack.us%2Fimg246%2F1669%2F002uu8.jpg&hash=efd83b5b6e8a75e9d1d50705a8a4bbf9a220e61a)

I could find that a following files are necessary to display all LOTs of this work normally.

1. PEG_Stream-Kit_Style2_205.dat
2. BSCBATPRops NewmanInc RPK Vol01.dat
3. PEG_MTP_RESOURCE_vol1.dat

4. BSC_CanalParks.dat
5. SG_Canal_Brick_GondolaLanding.dat
6. SG_Canals_Brick.dat
7. SG_Canals_Brick_Terraces.dat

Citynut, It's OK??
When If you would up the UP-DATE files this BAT,
I want you to add these list to the article on the Dependence file for a users who is more inexperienced than I and I.

Thank you Citynut.
and Vester san,Mas'71 san too!!

Those are awesome.  Is it possible to put them on a weird size lot so they grow easily?  Maybe two buildings togther or something like that.  And do you think the parking will be at the front?

I LOVE the front lawn on Dragoon industries! Maybe that's a personal preference, but it really suits everything great. The building is excellent.

ok here is a ingame pic of the one thing I did not mention that is in the growable commercial pack that is being tested - That is my Newman Inc Gallery - All of the paintings in the windows and on the wall are real paintings that I have done over the years of painting. I cant afford to open a real gallery but at least it can exsist in my cities.  :D

I forgot to mention the population requirements needed for some of the commercials to start growing - the 2x2's started growing around 20,000 and the gallery grew around 36,000 I'm still waiting for my dragoon indutrials to grow but I think it's going to require a population of at least 60,000 or more before it grows. I will keep you updated on the population needed for this

Ok I know I havent posted in awhile but here is a sample of what I have been working on. It is a new Agricultural - Suburban Canal kit ASC for short - if you see hashing on some pics that is from shadows cast from the tree mod I use. Right now I have 19 pieces and about 10 more to make. below are the pics. As I make more of the lots i will post them here for comments - please enjoy the pics

Wow, that has to be the 20th canal kit or so - it's a shame that Maxis didn't give us surface water... But anyway, this looks fantastic indeed! Very realistic water texture, and nice details, like the curved path and the variety of plants.

Absolutely fantastic.     They look like they are gonna go so well with the other canals that are out there.    Outstanding job!     &apls    These are great.   Another fabulous addition to this game.    Like Andreas said:

Yes it is, but then again would we have this kind of wonderful work if they had?

This looks great Citynut!  Is this the same water texture as your other canals, or is it just very similar?

One other random question regarding the old canal set... do you have a piece that would work for a center calm to rapid transition?  There are two-wide canal transitions and there are outside pieces for calm to rapid right and left side pieces... but there isn't a single-wide calm to rapid or rapid to calm transition that would work for a middle tile for a 3+ wide tile.

I've put together some pieces that I think might work... but your original kit is so great, if this center piece existed, it would be the cherry on the top!

I will see what I can do - that might be difficult as i lost the original water texture i used on the rapids - but i may still have it somewhere I hope. If I have it I will make that piece for you - oh it is the water I used for the RPK set

OK as promised here is some pics of transition pieces - I have a transistion to Pegs river and to the pond for those who like to play with Peg's stuff and I also have a transition to the RPK. you already saw the transistion piece to SG canals. Let me know what you think

Citynut,
I really like how your water texture is somewhere in between SG's and PEG's.     I think it helps with the transitions alot.     I think transitioning between your's and some of the darker water canals (PEG's canals and Jeronij's new ones) will be a bit more difficult to achieve the "seamlessness you have gotten so far.    There is a set of canals on ToutSimcity[ Linkie (http://www.toutsimcity.com/downloads2.php?voir=628&type=l&page=2) ] that have some interesting prospects.     Basically SG's without the walls.    If you could make some transitions for those, you would be a minor deity of canals (at least).    :D

Nice models again. Yes sir  ;)

But...I was wondering about the water foam line in some of the pieces, which looks a bit too straight....at least in one of the ends....maybe you could check this?
I have another question. I would swear you are using props families for the straight basic pieces. Is this correct?. I see much more variety that what it is usual  ;D

Gaston, I contacted maximac and asked for permission to translate into English and upload his rural canals here. I got his permission but some of the pieces are not well made and show joins and other problems so I have left them for the time being. If maximac returns to TSC or ocntacts me I will talk to him about improving them.

the water fall pieces are from PEG's river and pond kit but I'm think of doing my own piece to blend in better and no they are not in familys. I like making a bunch of pieces for more varied options and to answer the other question from gaston is yes it is the water texture used on SG canal but I used a rock texture under it and made the water a 85% transparency to let the rock texture come through. but It gave it a movement appearance instead

Thanks Barby.   I downloaded them a while back and actually did a little lot editing (my first time trying it.) of them.    Basically changing out the palms for seasonal tree sets.     You are right about the joints between pieces, they are lacking a bit.     I haven't really used them much because of the quality.     Too bad really.   They have alot of potential.

Citynut,
I figured it was something like that.  They have a very similar look.   Very nice.

I agree, I like this one better too.

One of the things I liked so much about the original river transition to the rapids was the "fingers" if you will of foam that are up river/down river from the actual rapid piece itself.

I'm not sure if that makes any sense...

This one right now is kind of like this:

oooo oooo  oo
oooooooo ooo
oooooooooooo
ooo oooooooo
oo  ooo  ooo o

The other into-the-rapids transition was much more sweeping...

o    oo     oo    o
oo   oo   ooo   oo
oo    oo   ooo    oo
ooooo oo ooo  oo  oo

I'm not sure if this is a clear picture at all... but it's a bit more gradual INTO the rapid piece as opposed to simply be calmRAPIDcalm...

I like the transitions alot.     I think I sorta agree with CabraBuitre (If I understand that is).   I was thinking some animated foam or spray would be nice.   Not alot just a touch of it pehaps.   These are coming along great though.

This is probably my favorite piece of yours... because it has those "fingers" I'm talking about... but like I said before, it's constrained to a two-wide river system, as opposed to being able to be used for wider than 2-wide by having a middle piece.

To add some of these fingers to that conversion prop you created would appear to me to make that one piece a bit more realistic.

Like I've always said, though... You (and all other creators) are much more talented than I am and it's your creation... when it's good for you, it's good for me!  Who am I to criticize the artist?

Excellent. One question though, when you say 27 lots, do you mean 27 different lots with different features (1 straight piece, 1 with a curve, etc)  or do you mean a couple different pieces with different looks (3 different 1 tile straight pieces, etc)? I ask only because my computer is a bit on the slower side (as specs go today), so perhaps 1 piece that could/would plop in 3 or 4 different designs (prop families I guess) is what I would be asking for. Let me know if that makes sense (I just finished an Italian test so my mind is thinking on a couple of different tracks...and languages... right now). Again, the canals look great and will be a great asset to add to the game.

Welcome to page 2

Citynut,
These are looking great.    I really like the little "irrigation" canals that a coming off these.   I could line all my roads with them, like the roads in the southern US.    They would look really neat if they were off-set on the lot so they could be placed really close to the road edge.    Then they really would look like road side ditches.   The small ones anyway.   The only thing that would be difficult to create would be the corners anf the under road culverts.   Those would need to look like the corrugated metal pipes that run under the roads.   Sorta like this stuff: [ linkie (http://www.ncspa.org/product_detail.asp?id=8&catname=Culverts&appid=2) ]

to answer both of your questions:
Threestooges: They wont be in families so to speak but they will be in sets one with path and one without path so it wont be 27 or more lots but half - or you can use a combo of both - I hope that helps

Gaston: I was planing doing exactly what you were talking about so realy there will be (2) set for the "Irrigation canals" one centered and the other offset - I hope this is satisfactory

Those are looking wonderful Citynut.  There are very few timber lots that are available and it is always great to see more.

I was wondering about the Newman Inc Lumber Company Tree Farm.  Is it going to be a CAM farm?   I am hoping it is but if not it still is a superb

and unique lot.

Keep up the good work!  &apls  &apls  &apls

No but it is a IR landmark plop with jobs - so you can plop it anywhere your lumber company is

well it could be a  stage six farm, they are meant to be woodland preserves but it would fit in

The version without the canal would actually be very appropriate as a stage 6 agricultural CAMeLot.

Looks great. The only suggestions I'll make are mostly obvious:

- A non-canal plop would be appreciated. I can definitely see myself using something like this, but more in a dockyard area. (I tend to use canals in a more decorative manner (as such, the CCPW will most likely feature in my major city parks.
- I'd suggest having two tracks at the edges of the lot. It'll look... err, odd.  :D

I don't mind the roof being so bright, it's actually not that unrealistic, though adding a small amount more wear and tear, such as making the corrugations more noticeable wouldn't be a bad idea.

Again, though, aside from that, it's looking great.

Ok here is an update on the canal grainery. I redid the roof and am currently working on a new texture pack to replace NCD's hard to use pack so it may be awile before this one see's light of LEX. and I probably will make one with out canals for those that dont want it. pic is below on the remake so far

Building section 1, of the power plant is currently rendering (for the 12th time). :P  The LODs are somewhat complicated and so there were game display issues with the previous renders.  Hopefully, this one will work. ;)

By the way, it takes a little over 11 hours to render section 1. :D

There's a misaligned rail texture if you haven't noticed it. Just to the left of the dark orange trailer. Aside from that it pretty much looks ready to go, though the lot does look a little dark.

Citynut that is fantastic!  &apls It is so recognisable as Christ Church in the render pic! I am in awe!

If you are looking for stuff to add to the building, there are some tall thin chimney stacks (3 I think) at the end of the church, these aren't viewable in any of the photos I showed you. It's near impossible to find photographs online of that side of the church (my mobile phone camera is having problems so I can't take any myself)

heres the best I could find online...

Thank you for polite explanation with pic Citynut. ;)

I checked a LOT with SC4TOOL and I could not find a problem.
so I opened it with LotEditer, I found the part of the cause.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg222.imageshack.us%2Fimg222%2F6431%2Fimage1hm5.jpg&hash=6c563cba69e3f270cf5c789be8adfd82346ebc38)

Apparently, it's caused by the "0x53CB0B5A_NewmanIncCCPW-CAL-1x PondStraight" of Building.
However, the display of all other LOT is normal.
This problem in only one LOT "1x Straight".

I could not find a report about same problem in other forum.
I don't have no idea anymore. &mmm

Do you have any idea ?? ()what()

Thank you.

I apologise, Relics8801-san, if I gave the wrong link. I thought the link that you gave was just for the patch to the Stream Kit. I am glad, however, that you have the problem solved.

Ok here is a progress pic of the church - I just hope that I can render this bad boy - it is now 14x10 tiles in size so it is big. and a very big project. hope you like the pic

14x10? Phew, that's large indeed. Maybe it would be better to break the model into two parts, make some tight LODs and add the part on the right side as prop.

Wow .. the second part comes as a big surprise to me. From the RL pictures I assumed the church looked like the 'left ' part of the model. I am, if that is possible at this moment, even more astounded by the greatness of the model.

I agree with Andreas its perhaps the best to split it in two with a tight fitting LOD ...  I like tight fitting clothes ... on women ::)  (http://www.splicedonline.com/04reviews/catwoman.jpg)

Lot makers shouldn't have too many problems combining the two. I might even stir up some nice variations.
