Still with the same rural views. I've almost finished the socrealistic district. I just need to bat a small monument for it

Wallasey - I think it's not so heavy to do. Sometimes, taking a look at e.g. google satelite photos could be a good idea. Just putting all the fields sometimes is a bit tiresome

Flatron, M4346, Kergelen - thanks guys! Well, yes, it's a quite lot of time! Maybe it was almost the same, all time long, but it was the most interesting way of playing the game for me

The region view!



Ok, that was some poor photoshopping. This is the first time, I tried to do such thing, because I used to show photos of pure game.

However, I'm attaching the unphotoshopped photo too. South from the city, you can see the village by the river, which we have seen in latest two updates. The socialistic district is visible, between it and Kolbrów's centre.

Kelis – I'm very glad to hear that! I have always based on Kraków and Poland an tried to reacreate the things, I see every day

Nochalem – Tank you! Well, that's just about ¼ of whole region, but I've stopped playing on the rest. It would take too much time...

So, back to Kolbrów!

Nowa Huta.

Nowa Huta (eng: The New Steel Mill) is a socrealistic district located in southern part of Kolbrów. Built in 50's as a new place to live for workers of a steel mill, formerly called "Lenin's Steel Mill". Within the time, it becames a scene of many protests and a centre of anti-communism movements.

It's highly based on a real place in Kraków. You can read about it here.

Plac centralny (eng: Cetral Square), surrounded by the most representative socrealistic buildings, is a main point of the district. The main axis is traced by an alley: Aleja Przyjaźni (Avenue of Friendship), which goes east-west. Its last part is a pedestrian plaza with a tram line. The second alley, going tangentially to the square, is called Aleja Solidarności (avenue of "Solidarity") and lead to the steel mill.


And that's, how it looked like 30 years ago. In the middle of the square, there was a statue of one, well-known comrade


Aleja Przyjaźni (Avenue of Friendship).


On the northern side, there is a theatre, called "Teatr Ludowy" (literally: People's Theatre). Yeah, Maxis's buildings can be quite useful




The urban design is symetricall. On the southern part, there's similiar square, with some school nearby.


On the other side of Aleja Solidarności, there is a hospital with a helipad, and some offices, built in 90's.


Another look at Teatr Ludowy. The estate around it is called "Osiedle Teatralne" ("Theatrical Estate")
