Title: [REL] SCAG Boeing 777 Project
Post by: pilotdaryl on September 20, 2008, 10:54:14 AM
777 model files are currently being rendered; taking advantage of new processor technology, I'm able to render 3 at once, which should speed up the dastardly time it would take to render all of them. ;D

This thread will contain all the latest updates to the SimCity Aviation Group's Boeing 777s, including new and upcoming liveries and development work.  The 777 is currently in the final stages of production.
The SCAG currently offers the 777-300 and -300ER aircraft series and plans to introduce the remainder of the series plus more soon.
New liveries:

Looking really great!

I have a question, is this a BAT prop (20 S3D files) or instead a single-S3D file model? (the latter can also be modded to "fly").

I understand that United doesn't operate 777-300s, but would it be possible to texture one of them in a United livery?

papab2000: Thanks!
cogeo: These are BAT props that will be rendered with skintight LODs.
Simpson: Thank you!
Fatsuhono: Indeed, they are ;D
simsmart: Thanks!  If you'd like to help at all, spots are available... ;)
tabi: Thanks a lot!
PLT: You too!  Thanks!
simsmart: A United Airlines livery is slated come after the creation of Delta and Northwest liveries. ;)

Uh....massive texture issue on the leading edge of the wing. There are also faint lines dividing sections of the fuse?

looks more like some out of place vertices on the model itself.

Post by: Yoman on September 22, 2008, 07:41:34 AM
Looks like its stretching over that vertex causing the entire area around it to mess up. Pilot is the leading edge of the wing perfectly straight? I learned from the A330 that it looks really messed up if it isn't perfectly straight, rather annoying :P Is the wing model attached the the wingbox? That could possibly screw it up as well.
Title: Re: Boeing 777-300/ER - latest updates - new KLM livery!

PLT: Thanks!!!
Fatsuhono: Plan to make any good textures soon? ;) Thanks!
Simpson: More liveries to come soon! Thank you!
Yoman and callagrafx: Have a problem? ;) Let me give you some answers: The faint lines on the fuselage are there on purpose.  Those are just to provide some extra detail.  The image of the plane is zoomed in quite a bit from the original (consider it 'zoom 6') to provide extra quality.  I didn't really mind the leading edge of the wing first, but now that I look closer I think I'm seeing a slight texture glitch.  Easy fix 8) None of the vertices are messed up, and the wing is not attached to the center tank/wing box.
Yoman, you said A330?  I'm guessing your trying your luck at modelling it. Have fun and good luck! ;D
Title: Re: Boeing 777-300/ER - latest updates - new KLM livery!
Post by: Yoman on September 22, 2008, 04:49:53 PM
I can understand about the faint lines, but I looked closely on airliner.net, and I didn't see any :P Only one horizontal line, so the verticle lines seem pointless, and just kindof odd looking. And yes I have been modeling the A330, nearly done. Hope you get the texture issues sorted out, are there going to be nightlights?
Title: Re: Boeing 777-300/ER - latest updates - new KLM livery!
Post by: Kumba on September 22, 2008, 05:09:16 PM
You can actually see some lines way up close to the aircraft,

http://www.airliners.net/photo/KLM---Royal/Boeing-777-206-ER/1337634/M/

But really, if you don't like it, you don't have to download it. If you have a complaint with the texture, instead of critizing it, give help to him so he can solve the issue than making a problem out of it. :)

Anyways, good job Pilo, keep it up! Can't wait to see these beauty in game!
Title: Re: Boeing 777-300/ER - latest updates - new KLM livery!
Post by: Yoman on September 22, 2008, 08:13:03 PM
Its really not a problem, its personal taste. Pilot knows what to do if he doesn't want the lines, but that his choice. So I don't see how I'm going to help him solve the issue? If your talking about the leading edge of the wing issue, me and Cal have offered advice and I believe Pilot is correcting it now, or when he gets the chance. So please refrain from telling me that I'm making a problem out of it.

As for Pilot, like I said, I look forward to seeing the pesky vertex fixed. Its incredibly annoying when working in one view, and you accidently move it someway, you don't realize it, do an entire thing, go back, and its completely messed up:P Don't know if its ever happened to you, but it did to me, so annoying :P

Let's keep in civil please...this is Daryl's thread for showcasing his work, not a streetcorner.  This site promotes the constructive approach to all aspects of custom content creation, so if someone sees a problem, they highlight it in a constructive way and offer advice on a fix, which is what both Yoman and I did.  This isn't an "ooh ahh" site, but a development one.

Hi team members,

I asked pilotdaryl for a livery of Kaibesian Airways, which I didn't see on the list. Is it still alive, if not can it become active again (you can also send me the empty skin and I'll do it for you, you just would have to BAT it for me, because I totally suck at this)
As well I asked for an Austrian Airlines livery!

Thanks a lot, feliwi

Hey Feliwi! Sorry, SCAG isn't taking requests right now because we are very busy setting up our new home at Devotion, however, if you has already requested a livery and Daryl said yes, than it will most likely being made, but it may take a while since, as I said, we are very busy. But don't worry! :)

Yoman: There will indeed be nightlights, Right now I plan to make them myself.  I don't really get what you mean by 'pesky vertex...' do you mean on the wing?  I don't see any errors at all... (I'll take a picture of the wireframe in a min)
Kumba: Thanks!
Callagrafx: Thanks for that.  We don't want any arguments here ;)
feliwi: Kalbeisan Airways is listed as 'current requests,' which is a low priority right now; I've been cutting back on requests in favour of finishing the RL liveries.  Right now, I am not taking any 'new requests.'

when the texture template was origionally made...  it was images like this

http://www.airliners.net/photo/KLM---Royal/Boeing-737-8K2/1405400/L/

that was used to make it...  real aircraft have those lines... they are the seems between section.... it also helps when rendered to break up some of the colors and give detail the the rendered prop...specially when you use light colors.

Now, for that long overdue update that has been constantly delayed due to an extremely busy life:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg61.imageshack.us%2Fimg61%2F3346%2F777nightlightsprogressmh0.jpg&hash=c76d41db5e489514b2d70ac6b9f91978ed3eab92)
I've been able to model the windows and complete the tail nightlighting.  I'm right now experimenting with lighting the front similar to keep everything in line with AC's jets, but I've been having a bit of trouble doing that correctly.  If you have any suggestions and tips for the nightlighting, I am taking them now.  These nightlights and the completed LODs will be merged into the other 777 models; final touches have been finished, and I am now working on getting these in-game. ;D

Fatsuhono: Thanks!
art128: Hey, thanks a lot!
Simpson: More applause, please? :P Just kidding.  That's enough, thanks!
ShadeSlayer: They will be released when they are done.  The 777 is on time and the first batch is scheduled to release this winter.  These will be lotted, attached to jetways, but you can lot them anywhere.
NASCAR_Guy: There aren't many north american liveries right now, but a Delta livery is being scheduled along with NWA and United. ;)
Einheriar: The SCAG already has a Malaysian Airlines livery; this will be coming out in the first release.  SAS currently has no 777 orders, but I'll see what I can do. ;D

That looks great, but I think the tail lighting needs to be touched up a bit.
It currently isn't spread evenly enough across the tail, it should look more like this:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcdn-www.airliners.net%2Faviation-photos%2Fphotos%2F3%2F9%2F3%2F0280393.jpg&hash=5bc1b79c253f911146b91d684986f3f3876b6548)

Maybe light up the cockpit, wingtip lights etc? And do you plan on releasing these without fixing the leading edge of the wing texture error?

Jack Bauer: British Airways does have 777-300ER on order; this livery could get quite challenging, but I'm up for it!
cameron1991: Ah, thanks for that.  I'll see what I can do.
Yoman: Dear me, I forgot about that wing texture problem!  Thanks for reminding me about that!  And thanks for reminding me about the wingtip lights too.  As for the cockpit window lighting, I'll play around with that...

Fatsuhono: Me too!  Thanks!

As you all might not know yet, I took a one-month job in Kelowna beginning November the 19th in order to receive a salary boost that would prove to be helpful during this Christmas season.  Now that I just got back from that, I'll be once again working on the 777, however regretfully I have fallen behind.  After the Christmas season I will once again be working in Burnaby so I'll be active.  I believe an update is long overdue, as well:

ShadeSlayer: Sorry, I didn't know.  It would've been great to see you.   The next time I'm going to get an out-of-town job, it most likely will not be in Kelowna and it may not be for awhile.
allan_kuan1992: Thanks!  Things are certainly rolling along.

Well, I've been busy making final preparations to the 777.  I've been at work replacing and adjusting objects.  Due to lighting/texturing problems, I've had to re-model the 777's horizontal stabilizer.  Using the same methods that I used in construction of the MD-80, I was able to get that done within 30 minutes. :)
The 777 so far:

Jack Bauer: Hey, thanks!  I made the 777 nightlighting to look as natural as possible.
NASCAR_Guy: I sincerely hope that your confidence in us doesn't fade, however, our custom livery request line is currently inactive.  I've been working in favour of getting real-life liveries and real-life livery requests in first and foremost, but seeing as release is getting closer I hope to open up the custom-request line again soon. ;)  Also, some of the aircraft types there have not been made by the SCAG, yet... so we'll just have to wait and see.

I've been up to something during the holiday season...

Resized to 800x500 from 1920x1200
The nightlighting on the 777 has its visible differences compared to the AC 747s next door; I tried to make everything look as natural as possible, however I now realize that everything looks a bit too bright.  I'll be toning it down and comparing it for the next few days, and then the final rendering process can begin. ;D

Jack Bauer: 73.9 metres long and looking good! ;D
allan_kuan1992: Ah, thanks for telling me, I'll do so as soon as possible.  Thanks too!  The skintight LODs cause no problems with the 777 except for a minor problem on only one view.
Jack Bauer: Many of the SCAG's predecessors and other aviation BAT teams have experimented with creating diagonal aircraft in the past, and the SCAG will do so as well with the 777 in due time. ;)

Well... no pictures in today's update, but a nice, long explanation is needed, I guess.  I've put the 777 and other certain projects on hold, while I've been throwing together a surprise for y'all... ;)

Well, with me now at risk of losing my job, work has been put to something of an indefinite halt.  I've been filling some insurance-related paperwork lately that could help me in the event that I do lose my job due to recent economic downturns and other personal reasons.  So, well... hang in there, I may have a few good updates planned during the course of the next few weeks, and hopefully I can go back to my regular schedules and resume preliminary work on the 777.

With my tight schedule wrapping up and no updates for... over a month now, I think it's time for an update.  This will be the final nightlighting configuration for the 777 - it may still vary by plane though:

I've also spent a bit of extra time working on the dark tail surface of my Aeroflot and getting nightlighting to work on it - I've finally got a working configuration on it [aircraft designers, feel free to PM me about this].  Overall, everything works with the 777 - final rendering is in progress for all planes and I'm shooting for a post-Easter release.

ShadeSlayer: I realize that... however, the way jobs have been handled lately, you could consider it a recession even for Canada.
Sciurus: Thanks!
simsmart: No.  That means I would have to spend so much more time looking for a job or I'd have to sell my computer just to get some money
RustyXL: Looks like my company's economy is actually getting better; nobody's jobs got lost. ;D

Title: NOW IN HD - Boeing 777, latest updates
Post by: pilotdaryl on June 04, 2009, 04:31:38 PM
This project is not over yet.
Although I have no pictures to show you, let me explain on what has been happening lately and what is to come:
I've lately been developing an all-new custom LOD for the 777 that will allow for much faster rendering times and battle other rendering problems, and the nightlights have been declared finalized and completed.  I've also been thinking of rendering the 777s with the new HD rendering technology to allow some of the finer details to be more clearly visible at zoom 6 - however, this could quadruple 777 rendering time.  I hope to have a prop pack containing all 777 model/desc files released later this month or next month if need be.

Edit: A new image showing HD qualities:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg198.imageshack.us%2Fimg198%2F3503%2F777hdaca1.jpg&hash=2bf3630419f1b160500787d126514cd609378158) (http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3503/777hdaca1.jpg)
As you can see, zoom 6 quality is excellent esp. when compared to a standard definition render.  Unfortunately, this does mean that render times can be doubled due to intensive required processing power.  However, I am arranging BAT on my laptop and may have a few good friends or teammates help, which will certainly speed up the process.

Amazing. I Can't wait to see this project completed and these lovely birds sitting at my airport.

Around-about how long is your render taking, exactly? I will gladly render some of them for you, As many as you like, but perhaps in return you will help me to create night-lighting to have on my ATRs. I will only need teaching once, but I started that project prior to joining SCAG and Voltaire suggested that since you are our team leader, I should be seeking your advice on the matter instead of his - I enquired about it before your return to activity the other day.
Title: Re: NEW HD image on page 4 -- Boeing 777 - latest updates
Post by: pilotdaryl on June 04, 2009, 10:12:16 PM
joelyboy911: Rendering in HD takes an unfortunate 70 minutes on my machine - up from the 22 minutes when rendered in standard definition.  Some extra rendering power would sure be nice, once I can prepare the planes and textures for sending. :)

I can also create a similar lighting rig for the ATRs that I use for the 777.
Title: Re: NEW HD image on page 4 -- Boeing 777 - latest updates
Post by: joelyboy911 on June 04, 2009, 10:18:02 PM
70 minutes: that's an Age, I don't know how long my machine would need (its not top of the range or anything, but it is new) but there are plenty of times when I could, for instance set it going and leave it unattended whilst I sleep or go to school, or cycling training etc, etc.

Re, Lighting, Would it be more beneficial if you taught me how to do it myself? Of course I would be grateful if you did it, all the same, but I have other planned projects which would benefit from me knowing how to do it as well. (More regional planes, I have in mind Saab 340/2000 and some Embraer planes, not E-Jets, as I understand they are in your domain).

The HD does look good at zoom 6 but I'm not really a big fan of it because it makes zoom 5 look worse and I don't really need to look closer than that. I personally wouldn't use HD unless there was a way to make it into an actual zoom level instead of just magnifying zoom 5 but that's just me.

Perhaps Pilot could make the HD props only show at zoom 6 and the SD props show at all other zoom levels, this way there wouldn't be any loss in quality at lower zoom levels.

Anyway, all I can say is WOW! Man that plane looks good!

I have Quad Q8200, 4GB memory, dedicated ATI graphics card.

The computer runs a little sluggish at times when playing SC4 though... that might be due to the fact that it was manufactured by a computer maker.
(I should have bought components to build one myself >.<)

I'm glad that you're still working on this =)  the HD render is eye-catching =O

Hmmm... My machine is only 2.1ghz Intel processor with 3gb RAM. It renders way, way faster than my old computer though, It had 1.8ghz and 2gb RAM. It used to take forever, then stall at 13% every time. I got it, just once, to render a house I made from a tutorial when learning the tool, and it took an hour. I was pleasantly surprised at this new one, I thought it was amazing!

joelyboy: I think it'd probably take about the same amount of time on your machine, considering your specs.  I can teach you lighting over any form of instant messaging any time, it's not too hard, but you have to know that lighting aircraft can take more than one light (the rig I use to nightlight the 777 involves around 24 lights!)
RustyXL: I disagree, I actually find that while zoom 5 does look a bit non-antialiased, it actually does look much clearer (i.e. the windows are larger and more visible).
cameron1991: The way HD works is by enlarging zoom 5 twice to create a better zoom 6 while keeping quality or improving zoom 5.  I'd have to modify a load of BAT scripts and possibly even the game engine to handle 6 zooms - plus, with the extra zoom 5 render render times would slow down even more.
ShadeSlayer: I've been thinking of getting a new machine soon, most likely with the new i7 processor.  Would speed up rendering times a load, I'm sure. :)
allan_kuan_1992: Thanks.  You may have to configure your graphics card or game settings to get better performance playing SC4.
feliwi: I aim to have a prop pack released later this month, plus the full lotted set this summer. ;D  We'd be glad to have you join our team - however, lotting the 777s is going to involve mixing and matching the props on each and every lot, so it might be a bit more complex.  Moving the jetway may also be necessary.
frdrcklim: Thank you!  Yes, it's a fairly new development but it's also really popular.
PLT: Thanks!  More to come soon!

I've been testing out the HD render of my ACA in-game today, and I've seen no problems whatsoever with rendering.  If I can use this as a template for any of my next planes, I shouldn't have any problems! ;D  I can spend the weekend putting the rest of the planes together and preparing for sending--this will be a tough process and involve moving around a lot of files.  I don't want you all to have to place all the textures on the planes all over again after I send them!

Post by: pilotdaryl on June 06, 2009, 09:17:36 AM
hyped_up_boy: Nice to see you around! Thanks!  I think I would rather approach lotting & lot properties myself but hang in there.
Jack Bauer: Thanks!
I'm now preparing most of the planes for sending to third-parties for rendering--this involves changing the directory of the main texture files for easier packaging and a whole bunch of model rearranging and adjustment.  This could take awhile.  In the meantime, I am announcing the creation of one last 777 livery for the first major release.  This airline was one of the more recent to order the 777-300ER, entering service with it in 2010.
Edit:
The SCAG presents:

Excellent! I was also wondering: on large widebody jets, which models are still unnacounted for. I know tabi has done lots of them, but his ones are a bit, erm, rough. Is anyone planning an A340 by any chance. If not, perhaps I could sign myself up, with some help/collaboration from the team to do it. Also a 767. Kumba's ones are nice but they are all too dark-coloured.

@Jack Bauer: I noticed that you are interested in some British Airways 777-200! You can already find some here:

Great rendering of the 777, they really look much better now!

Outstanding and magnificent!

One small question, will these be rendered with jetways attached?

PD told me that the jetways are not included in the model, but they do not have to be, as the LOD is fitted tight to the plane. Therefore the bugs experienced when using Tabi jets with ACB jetways are not going to occur.

Hmm... did Voltaire render all of his jetways with tight LODs?

Just to give everyone a heads up, 777 development is still ongoing, but has been slowed down lately due to my need to settle into Burnaby once again (including finding a new job) and having to reconstruct the fuselage LODs once more.

Whan you say "reconstruct the fuselage LODs", how are you doing this? I generally use the 'Create Complex LOD' tool that came with the GMAX toolkit in the Bat4Max pack. Have you explored this method? Do you know something I don't about a potential downfall/flaw with it?

joelyboy911: I know, right? ;D
RG59061: Yea, according to my schedule this project is actually pretty much looking good.
Driftmaster07:  Yea, it's really stable;  so far, rendering speed overall is doubled from my previous computer and I can render 3 at once; that's a six-fold speed increase ;D

The way rendering works now, I've been able to finish rendering much of the 777s and now have just a few more liveries to adjust; I could be releasing that first prop pack really soon.

Well, since most of the 777s that will be in the initial set have been finished and rendered, I've decided to take some extra time to create a few more liveries for the 777 set so that all airlines (and most respective liveries) that operate the 777-300ER in real-life will be included in the initial release.
Introducing Gulf Air:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg9.imageshack.us%2Fimg9%2F4885%2F777gulfair.png&hash=27eb3f02a86596d36582c4bd61a234131f5c9f09) (http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/4885/777gulfair.png)

There are about 3 or 4 more liveries I'm willing to create that shouldn't put the 777 project too much off-schedule.  The next one is likely going to be a more challenging special livery, so make sure to check back every so often! :)

A challenging special livery?
Let me guess, Air Canada Vancouver Winter Olympics livery?  :D

But also very nice work on that Gulf Air livery! It's great to know a release isn't too far away.

Hey Pilot,

I hate to post this so late in the program, but I was wondering...would you be able to make a FedEx 777? Boeing just delivered the first one to FedEx today. The 777F is a derivative of the 777-200LR and looks quite stunning!

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.flightglobal.com%2Fblogs%2Fflightblogger%2Ffedex777f_560.jpg&hash=ee37033bf3b0f17d83f06a13615744910021357f)

If that is something that can be added into this release, I know I'd really appreciate it...and I'm sure others would too. If not, maybe in a later pack?

Thanks for the hard work by you are your team on the 777. It is shaping up to compliment our aircraft beautifully.

Stay Fab!

As for Continental...I can't believe I forgot Continental...yes, please if you can, make a Continental 777 and a United 777...as well as the FedEx 777 I also requested above!  ;D

Thank you!

@Jack Bauer
@RG59061

The current set of the 777s is the -300 and -300ER models. The 777F, is as you said, a derivative of the -200 and Continental and United only operate the -200 as well. I think Pilotdaryl might be thinking about doing the -200 after he finishes with these ones.

Thanks for the response. If that is the case...then we can wait till the SCAG team begins the 777-200 model.

Thank you again.

cameron1991: Actually it was a Cathay Pacific livery I was looking at, though the ACA-2010 livery is really interesting. :)
Kumba: Thanks - I find myself a fan of their livery design as well ::)
Driftmaster07: Thanks!
RG59061 -1: Yes as a matter of fact I'm planning to follow up on the -300 series with a 777-200 series that will complement the 777-300 and 767 in the SCAG's large aircraft series.  Among these is the 777F of course, which will be part of a major cargo aircraft project that may take shape later on.
Jack Bauer: United and Continental operate the -200 and I assure you that those liveries will be present in the 777-200 series :)
Nexis4Jersey: Thanks and it's nice seeing you here! :)
Joel: Yes, thanks for answering me on that one and that's mostly correct; I'm scrubbing the original 777-300 though as it's a less common model that is never ordered and the airlines that do operate the -300 also operate the -300ER.  I figure that rendering two versions of the same livery can be a waste of time and disk space in certain cases. &mmm

Well, in order to avoid possibly severe delays to intial release, I decided to scrub the inclusion of any special liveries in the first release; this doesn't mean I haven't been busy these past few days.  I decided instead to create some liveries that referenced airline alliances.  So, in no particular order, here they are!

All of these have been rendered too! ;D
There are about 3-5 liveries left to be created (or edited) so I'll be working on those for the rest of the week and if scheduling remains strict a prop pack could be seen on a local exchange very soon, so keep checking back every so often for updates!

And here brings a HUGE update to the 777 project.

Over the past three days, I did the following:

1. Hand-picked the best of the best for 777-300's created by pilotdaryl.
2. After choosing a final 28 candidates, I re-rendered them all.
3. And I just finished making them in to props.

This is a HUGE step in the right direction for the 777 project, and I am pleased to say that the 777 quality level is not surpassed by anything else I've seen.

If you know much about HD props, you will know that it makes the in-game zoom 5 slightly worse, but on the other hand, the zoom 6 is just beautiful.

Here I bring you the HD 777's which not only look amazing in zoom 6, but zoom 5 as well.

The following picture is nine/twenty-eight IN GAME shots (slightly edited to remove background textures) of HD 777's at zoom 5 (the worse looking zoom level).

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg19.imageshack.us%2Fimg19%2F1272%2Fteaser1c.png&hash=691b85dd64b3082d6dfe8f8d65d377c34342eead) (http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/1272/teaser1c.png)
Click for full size.

These are only 1/3 of the completed 777's. Currently, joelyboy911 and I are finalizing the prop part of the project, and we anticipate seeing a submission of the prop pack within the next week or so. A lot pack will soon follow.

That is all.

Oh, I agree. They would certainly look brilliant without RMIP-3, but I'll just keep thinking: 'What runway do they expect to use?'  :D

The interim solution is to install only the wide concrete runways from RMIP1:

It's great to see that this project is still going places! ;D
In case anyone was about to ask about what did happen to me and why I disappeared all of a sudden, I'm currently studying at a flight school outside of the Vancouver area.  Unfortunately due to the nature of my studies I cannot continue as a custom content developer for the SCAG and this outcome has slashed into the numerous things I was planning for y'all.  However I do see that Joel and the team have been making some excellent progress! $%Grinno$% In my spare times I may drop by here at the SCAG just to see if something new has happened or if there's something else to be excited about.  As for the rest of you in the SCAG, ignore me and keep working.  I don't want this project delayed any further :P

The very best of luck to you all... and for the rest of the community....hi. :D

Hi Guys!

Excellent work on the 777... I've followed the project since late 2007 so I'm really looking for the completion.

Are you going to release the planes first as a prop set? I am currently lotting some take-off queues on the taxiways and would really like to see the 777's there as well.

Keep up the good work!

droopied: Yes, the 777's will be released in two packages: props and lots.

No one can say for sure. As with any of these projects, unexpected problems might emerge, forcing a delay of release. In addition, the members of SCAG are working on this project (and all of their other projects) on a volunteer basis, using whatever free time they may have. If one or more of them suddenly has a lot less free time than before, work on the project will be delayed. Patience is a virtue :)

as a SCAG member, all I can say at the moment is that the 777's (just like most of our stuff) is currently undergoing beta-testing ;)

Yes, the 777s will be available without Jetway, if I remember correctly.

Thread locked, contact me if you would like to update it.

Thanks everyone, especially you, Jack_Wilds.
I think the biggest slaps-on-the-back go to our Canadian team members- PD and ShadeSlayer, so it's only right that the screenshots feature Air Canada  :P

I'm glad to see this released, it's been a long time coming, but I'd say every second is worth it  :D

Congratulations, PD, ShadeSlayer and Joel!

Thanks for sticking with us through all the hurdles!

I've been waiting for 777s for years now because they are my favorite planes and here they are!
I hope to see some A330s and A340s in the near future.

It has definitely been a very long run.  While I am sad to say that I won't be returning to the SC4 community as a custom content designer, I like seeing that at least one of the major things I worked on took shape and release

Carry on with building your airports, everyone!

How do you guys make these jets? I'd like to make my own aircraft and textures. Is there a way to get a blank Gmax model?

With much practice, only a few of us, or I guess down to one or two now, have the skill to make the models. Making them takes practice and a good knowledge of GMAX. Also, these models were custom made by the SCAG to be as accurate as possible to their real life counterparts. Because these took time and a lot of effort to create, they won't be given to anyone outside the SCAG team. I'm confident Joel would say the same.

That's quite right Alex. But there are ways to get other blank aircraft models if you want to put in the effort - you can make your own textures and render them any way you want. There are (or used to be) some gmax models of Flightsim aircraft floating about the web that came all ready to go with paintkits included. It is also possible to convert models from the Google 3D warehouses, and if you're really keen there are places where you can buy gmax and 3ds max aircraft online. You'll need to already have knowledge of the modelling tools to use any of these methods though.

I definitely agree with Alex that we won't release our models to anyone. The planes we've got have been the result of countless hours of work and practise by Pilotdaryl, RustyXL and myself. I'm even nervous about giving mine to other team members sometimes. They're my babies (for want of a better term). Please understand, I'm a protective parent. :P

While I'm in the thread - there have been some developments on this project: Watch this space!

The livery requests are closed? If not, can you make a repaint for Varig 777 please?

Here is some photos to you use as base ;)

The means are there to create the plane you requested, it will probably be dealt with at some point.

yeah SCAG team has released the 773 and the 77W. and if i'm not mistaken the Varig plane is a 772 (or a 772-ER), i think a model must be crated before another release.
so we have to wait to see some boeing 777 with the liverys of United, Continental, American, Delta (or even Alitalia my country's flag carrier)

Ok, well we aren't taking requests for the 777 at the moment. I'm gonna lock the thread for now, but check back later. I can't say too much, but SCWTC4 is thinking in the right vein....
