Download it from the LEX!
http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=3341

It's also available on ModDB at the following link.

Hello Mac users,

this is the Help & Support  thread for the NAM + CAM bundle for OSX.

The bundle is a Wineskin Wrapper contining the original NAM 34 and CAM 2.1.0 .exe installers. I have made a single bundle containing both mods since Wine files themself are bigger than 300MB.

Special thanks to the NAM Team and IvisiChem for providing me those installers.

Sorry, I could not create some shortcuts for a more user friendly installation, because they get corrupted during the compression.

You have to extract the .zip file first and then the .7z file to get the installer. Sorry, for the double compression, but it's needed.

Inside the "NAM + CAM for OSX"  folder you will find:

  • The Readme file.
  • Instructions to install the CAM and update it's installer in the future.
  • The NAM installer.
  • The Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool.
  • A icons .icns folder.

Depending on your security settings, you may not be able to open any installer by double click. If happens just right click on "Install NAM 34" and select "open".
Don't worry if it takes a while to launch the first time.

You can install the CAM by right click on the "Install NAM 34" app and select "Show Package Contents", there you will find the CAM installer.

For detailed information how to install the CAM IR fix please visit this thread:

Here is the list on which OSX releases the installer has been tested.

  • OSX 10.11.3
  • OSX 10.10.x
  • OSX 10.9.x ()what()
  • OSX 10.8.x ()what()
  • OSX 10.7.x ()what()
  • OSX 10.6.8

I also configured wine for hardware graphics acceleration. This means that Wine will use your graphic drivers.

Graphic Cards Vendors

  • Intel GMA X3100
  • Intel HD x000 Series ()what()

    • Intel HD 4000 Series
  • Intel Iris (and Iris Pro)
  • ATI/AMD Radeon HD Series ()what()
  • AMD Radeon R9 Series ()what()
  • NVIDIA GeForce GT/GTX Series

The ()what() is what I have not tested, please share your feedback including your OSX release and your graphic card.

This bundle can do more: if you drag and drop an .exe installer over the "Install NAM 34", Wine will run it (props and textures installers from the LEX). ;D

For any issue and feedback related to this installer, please post here below.

For any issue and feedback related to NAM, please ask on the NAM board: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?board=90.0

For any issue and feedback related to CAM, please ask on the CAM board: http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?board=185.0

Current bundle specs:

  • Network Addon Mod version: 34
  • Colossus Addon Mod version: 2.1.0
  • Wineskin Wrapper version: 2.6.2
  • Wine Engine: WS9WineCX15.0.1

I will update this bundle in the future if:

  • A new NAM version will be released.
  • A CAM update will be released.
  • I decide to add more tools to the bundle.
  • A Wineskin Wrapper update is needed.
  • A Wine Engine change is needed.

Loaded up a VM and tested this bundle.

OSX 10.10 Yosemite :)
Intel HD 4600
NVidia GeForce GT 740M

VMWare Workstation 12 Pro loaded with Niresh OSX Yosemite.

Everything with the bundle is working great with this setup and edition.
Everyone has something to offer, most do not possess the courage to offer it.

Thanks for testing.
I could assume that the installer will run on every Intel graphic solution, however I want to to wait for more results since Intel has doing a lot to develop it's graphics and may be a lot of differences betwen each graphic cads series.

I'm particularly interested into ATI/AMD solutions results, since some Wine releases had problems with ATI/AMD drivers in the past.

Please share your feedback even if the installer ran fine!

Thank you for amazing work !

I tasted NAM and CAM installer on my 13 inch retina macbook with OSX 10.11.3 and intel iris 6100. Works without any problems so far  &apls

Following the current IR Patch Instructions.txt, I couldn't get the IR Patch to work. Step 6 should be changed from 6. Select as input ".../Documents/SimCity 4/CAM Auxillery Files/IR Patch/SimCity_1/" to 6. Select as input ".../Documents/SimCity 4/CAM Auxillery Files/IR Patch/"

After that, I was able to get the patched dat.

Yea, I know about that, that's why I made a simpler guide here:

However InvisChem is working on a new CAM version that should include an already patched "SimCity_1.dat".

My bad  :-[ I should've checked more threads. I'm too used to offline readmes!

I just spent the last two days downloading and installing NAM, CAM + Starter packs, RTMT and their dependencies for Mac. Foo!  :'( Let's just say it's a bit overwhelming, especially after not touching SC4 since 2003 and having never used SC4 custom content. I'm thankful for SC4D though. It's made this tenuous process much easier!

If you download something from the the LEX or the STEX, you can get the Windows version, but do not open .exe installers with "The Unarchiver" or other similar decompression software. Will be an hell to install them correctly.
