Things change over time....

Vince

Those are some really nice and elaborate intersections.  I especially like the corner-intersection.  Nice work &apls

A variety of interchanges. I've linked to the images instead:

Partial-Y with left fork ---> right fork ramp: http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/5968/camarenathorntonoct2604.png
Earlier version of above with right fork ---> left fork ramp (removed because it made the whole thing clunky): http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/6228/camarenathorntonmay3031.png

This interchange has some design issues but oh well...

Diamonds and miscellaneous interchanges:

http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/5273/camarenafloydparkdec153.png (a semi-directional T with acceleration-deceleration lanes. RHW RULs required an adaptation to the layout somewhat)

Lots of interchanges and the one that needs a redesign (you'll see why once I can get a diagram of the interchange made).

I just need a constructive opinion on which looks better. :)

I prefer intersections of convenience, than again I love simplicity. But Neither photos below greet my preferrals.

So which do you prefer? (simple or clustered) And why? (I'm not changing the split GHWY)

(Simple)
Below is the simple intersection I like, but it provides inconvenience of not letting the Highway/Freeway travellers turn left on the Avenue. The avenue is going to consist of dense residential too.

(Clustered)
This photo is very convenient but messy, I have limited room to build. I don't like the layout - but the residents are going to use this intersection a lot. (Avenue centres residential peninsula).

Thanks, :)

EDIT: Resized Images (smaller).

bob56

original, I like the first one better. I don't like all the stoplights after the exit, The first one is best IMHO

Here's an 'intersection' I recently built to merge I-15 (shown in my MD) with the Byway in Ural City (south). It's like a T-Interchange, but the toll booths complicate things, plus the fact that the dual northbound exits (one for freight, one for civilian) make it harder.

An overview...( I havn't put in signs yet)

Close ups...

western half(the industrial district is to the west)

east half (city is to the west)

Hope you like!!

I worked all morning on this interchange:

What do you think?
Edit: I fixed the RHW2 at the top, and smoothed out the curve.

@CityMaster563: I think that one curve after going under the El-RHW and then to the left, is too sharp. It would have been better if it was just dragged to the left shortly after coming out from under the El-RHW to align straight to where it too turns into a El-RHW.

Also, I don't know if you corrected it since taking this picture, it would appear that part of this interchange deconverted to RHW2 at the top in between the curves. I have that highlighted in red in the attachment below. The good news is, without demolishing the curves, you should be able to just put a RHW4 starter piece there with no harm done.

Great interchange with nice layout  This forest looks nice too  ;)

deathtopumpkins: looks like you spent a lot of time working the road to the landscape, great job!

That's really half the battle when building interchanges - the environment.  The perfect interchange blends functionality with environmental respect and awareness.  It's the challenge I face every time I fire up SC4.

DTP: Looking good, aside from the trees in the middle of the overpass :P

Well a little odd way to solve an intersection problem...

Most normal people would take the avenue right through and just hook up the OWR and roads. ::)

However it does serve its function well, traffic rarely locks up.

And a strange little cloverstack cloverleaf (albeit a very changed) variant twirly thingy I came up with one day...

And Europeans would use a roundabout. ;)
