Title: Endora

-------------------Update 13th April- New Year Weekend - Part Three-----------------------------

Introducing Endora:

Once a city overlooked by tourists, despite its economic, industrial and naval importance, Endora has gained a reputation in recent years as a destination worth visiting at least once.

Often called the 'Gateway to the Empire', Endora still ranks as Aetheria's primary port city and the 'second city' of the nation, bringing influences as well as ships from the far and wide colonies. Built on a hilly, coastal region near the mouths of the rivers Tansy and Foxglove, the city provides a sheltered yet somewhat awkward harbour to which Endora owes its prosperity.

With a vibrant nightlife, a lively arts and cultural scene and a rich maritime history, Endora offers something for everyone. Whether you prefer the sights and sounds of the city centre, the leafy, hilltop suburb of Belmont or enjoying a drink at the harbourside at sunset, 1789 is a splendid year to visit Endora.

Statistics and helpful information:

Climate
Endora enjoys a mild climate due to its position in the South-West of the country and proximity to the ocean. Summers are warm and breezy, often with unexpected rain. Winter months usually bring storms and light snowfall although the temperature rarely drops below -2°.

Safety
The city guard have done an exemplary job in stamping out street crime in the last decade and now most areas of Endora are extremely safe. However, Endora is a 24 hour city and travellers unaware of this fact may find crowds, public drinking and noise unsettling, especially on the weekends. If you plan on drinking, please be careful around areas with water hazards such as the docks as accidents do happen.

Wow, Endora looks great! I like how you have some heavy industry right in the middle of downtown. It's something that you don't see in most cities and gives it a unique twist.

Also the map is fantastic! Hope to see more.

Endora Well Street Station

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fstation.jpg&hash=3f16605aeb6f9cadd2193ee10f15cfdce9cae10f)

Well Street Station is the largest and busiest station in Endora, with 8 platforms and serves as the terminus of the main line from the Capital. Regional train services also depart from the station and it is well worth taking the time to explore the rest of the region by train. The journey time to Aetheria City is about 2 hours, Endora Airstation - 10 minutes and the international route to the Lindemann border - 5 hours.  Services are usually reliable and punctual but it is advised to arrive at least 20 minutes before your train is due to depart.

The Constantia Hotel

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fhotel.jpg&hash=1d8b0d6a3e8fe623bdfb69e139a9ec37649e4d69)

There are many places to stay is Endora, from cheap boarding rooms to magnificent hotels. The Constantia falls into the latter category, built on the edge of a cliff with views over the docks. Located close to the city centre  and the waterfront,  it is popular with rich merchants, foreign dignitaries and government officials. According to legend the hotel was named after an ancient princess that fell off the cliff to her death but historians believe it is more likely the hotel was named after a font.

The Constantia is the most expensive hotel in Endora but smaller rooms in the rear of the hotel are much more affordable.

Camphor promenade

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fcamphor.jpg&hash=a5c5e1ad9d68075d19cf70b7bd2278e68bb8f282)

A shopping area in central Endora built over and around an underground canal.  The promenade hosts a variety of stores and market stalls selling everything from cheap trinkets to rare medicines and even strange beasts from faraway lands.

Conduit Street.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fconduitst.jpg&hash=51e3323c5ecec59ecfb3d68b8e07cc046c628258)

Conduit street is a raised road in the western end of the city centre. It and the surrounding streets are home to museums, hotels and the Endora Opera House. The Ampitheatre is also nearby and offers a variety of public entertainment events all year round.

Regent Square

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fregentsquare.jpg&hash=d1fb8b98518fae17c6b98f1e03e6506350452af9)

Regent Square was built originally by wealthy merchants and plantation owners who wanted a genteel place to live close to the busy docks, although today most of the houses are now hotels or places of business.

The North end of  the square is  home to the former 'North Plassur Trading Company' head office. The company had amassed a great fortune for the Empire with its near monopoly of trade with the Western colonies, and even gained its own private army. 9 years ago, the Company declared the colonies it ruled independent from the Aetherian Empire, in a series of events that led to the Great War. Finding itself on the losing side, the Company was dissolved and the colonies returned. The building is now home to a theatre and restaurants.

Exchange Street.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fexchangest.jpg&hash=2bfe73364518d19a4b501652123a05c9fdc5b9d5)

Exchange Street is a road in the 'old city' running from North to South along the waterfront. Numerous bars and restaurants are to be found in the area as well as a large dock for international cruise liners. Much of the old city was destroyed by the great fire but many of its streets still bear names of the commodities that were traded there (such as Wine street and Spice lane).

Old Market Square.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Foldmarketsquare.jpg&hash=af5419c5746e01a62e15ae0b368580a81c60f2a5)

The heart of the old city, where 5 roads meet. The bustling market has long since disappeared and now the square and surrounding streets are known for its theatres and fine restaurants.

Thanks! I used the colour scheme from a real city map so maybe that's why.

Thank you, I've always liked cities with mixed and varied architecture (I live in one).

Thanks! yeah I was inspired by some sci fi/steampunk cities where people don't mind too much about having industry in their midst.

Thanks a lot for the comment :)

Thanks! It's very dense at the city centre but there's a lot of greener space the further out you go.

Port Authority Building

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fcityhall.jpg&hash=b09d668730f36ec5b25d4d97808dea87508ebc0c)

The Endora Port Authority manages and maintains the city docks and and orchestrates the vessels that pass through them, collecting taxes on imported or exported goods. The large building also also houses the city and regional government offices. The old, smaller city hall is situated nearby and now serves as a records office.

Union Bridge

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Funionbridge.jpg&hash=03356d83af7a05bef8f6d8c0ac13df5b3ba9a10d)

Union Bridge is one of 3 road bridges in the city centre, forming a road connection to Carme Island. Originally a wooden bridge, it was replaced with a stone one in 1730. The bridge is large enough for large steam liners to pass through but this rarely happens as there is a tight bend further up the river which larger ships find difficult (but not impossible) to traverse.

Cat Hill

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fcathill.jpg&hash=373ca8fbcb25c653d29f2bdf3c10afa1a63978c0)

Cat Hill is a steep shopping street that runs from near the Constantia Hotel in the city centre to the University at the top of the hill. Cat hill was supposedly named after a temple dedicated to cats which once stood on what is now the University. The street is occupied by small clothes shops, bars and tea rooms. The main Library of Endora is situated nearby.

Redland

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fredland1.jpg&hash=69abfeded13f11a992a524fdbfe2903da07fc3f1)

Redland is an area in the North-West corner of the city centre, characterized by busy streets and its nightlife. The area has a (somewhat deserved) repuation for being seedy and raucous at night with its many drinking holes, opium dens and adult entertainment venues. To the casual tourist it may not seem surprising to know that Redland was once a haunt for smugglers and pirates but today, despite its appearances, it is reasonably safe.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fredlandsquare.jpg&hash=30a5f321a5ae7f0d1d7c9e2773957acffcb43004)

Redland Square is a small green space which regularly hosts free evening entertainment events. Also situated on the square is Redland Station which served as Endora's main station until Well Street Station was built. Just off the square is Redland Market where you can find a cheap snack or look for a bargain or two.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fredlandsign.jpg&hash=fd3ddbd1314ab1941d699df297a69786a77f3892)

Redland Temple

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fredlandchurch.jpg&hash=5b19de890ac192096e622b63adef0d82a4037c5e)

The temple is a sanctuary from the nearby nightlife, not dedicated to a particular deity and is open all night.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fclubflyer.jpg&hash=7779dda0935a0607f2b56dcdb26bc2b0a8aab7f6)

Polycoal Boilers

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fpolycoal.jpg&hash=76e9a53086cab0fb270b5fd312ff89e4195198c3)

Polycoal boilers are huge structures which generate electricity and steam for useful purposes such as powering lights, heating homes and working steam powered machines. Polycoal is a fairly new substance, thick and oily in nature which burns at least 5 times as intensly as the finest grade normal coal. Many visitors upon seeing these structures for the first time question the suitability of building them so close to human dwellings, however Endorans, as a people tend to marvel at the wonders of machines and technology in general and are accustomed to living in the midst of industry.

Belmont
Belmont is an large and affluent inner suburb of Endora, located West of the city centre. Belmont originally developed from a small village perched on the hills above Endora, growing both in size and wealth when rich merchants invested in the area, building grand mansions and fine terraced housing. Belmont continues to prosper today, from the profits of the tobacco and spice trade with the colonies, as well as the income generated by tourists visiting the historic attractions in the area. Belmont has been described as having an entirely different atmosphere to Endora's city centre, with leafy tranquil streets, hilly terraces and a lack of industrial structures.

Belmont Suspension Bridge
The Belmont Suspension Bridge spans the river Tansy and joins Belmont to the suburb of Ashton and the Brandram estate. Built in 1740, it was considered to be somewhat of a folly at the time, as the bridge has never seen much traffic for its size and length. However, this landmark and suicide hotspot is is well worth a visit as it offers breathtaking views of the city and nearby ocean.

My gosh this is a very beautiful city, antimoneycat!

The older areas at once remind me of Bath or Oxford. I love the open spaces in between the W2W areas and how each is defined, suggesting the speculative terrace builder. The way your development is staggered up the hills is really beautiful. Well done!

I especially love the use of the steam train. ;)

Belmont Village
Belmont Village is located to the North of the historic centre of Belmont, on the junction between Sugar Loaf Hill and Loppi Road. During the day, the village is the place to come for small, upmarket shops, cafes and boutiques or during the evening, the fair with its amusements is always worth a look.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fbelmontvillage1.jpg&hash=a9006a13ae9122371b03c5dfb83f7bc7bcd24b58)

Spending the evening in Belmont Village is popular with the local residents and offers a much calmer alternative to the wild extravagance of the city centre nightlife. A meal or a drink at one of the local cafes followed by a visit to the fair or a moonlit stroll by the pond is always a recommended experience. Should you decide to have a more intense evening experience, a 6 minute train ride to the city centre is available via nearby Sugar Loaf Hill station.

Blyth Heath
A view of the heath looking North. Blythe Heath is a large public open space North of Belmont, popular with leisure walkers, sports activities, picnickers and kiteflyers. The heath is hilly and windswept during the colder months but offers a fantastic view of the river and estuary all year round.

Freya Crater
81 years ago on midsummer night, 1703, residents throughout Endora felt a rumbling sensation, followed by a large booming sound. Windows and furniture were shattered and toppled throughout Belmont Village. In the morning local residents found the ground had opened up and formed large crater on the Eastern end of Blyth Heath. Luckily no one was seriously hurt in the incident. It was concluded that an uncharted massive underground cavern (common in Endora) had collapsed due to recent heavy rainfall, although many alternative explanations exist, ranging from the improbable to silly. However, to this day many visitors have reported feeling dizzy or disorientated whilst standing in the crater, others even report their timepieces suddenly stopping.

Exhibition Hall Ruins
In 1712 Endora hosted the World Exhibition for the first time, showcasing inventions and wonders from around the known world and Empire. The centrepiece of the event was the (then) largest glass and metal structure ever built, the great Exhibition Hall. 234 metres in length, the hall was a marvel of engineering and the event was a great success. After 1712 the hall was used for a variety of purposes such as a tropical greenhouse and studio and laboratory space for Endora University. This last use would spell the demise of the structure. In 1733 the building caught fire, which then turned into a raging inferno due to flammable substances within. For the last 51 years, the hall remained standing and the ruins are now an attraction in itself.

Belmont Observatory
Belmont observatory was used by the University's Astronomical department for its research into the heavens. In recent years, larger telescopes and light pollution from the city has lessened its usefulness but is still used on occasion for scientific work. The observatory is now open to the public and offers bookings for use of telescope by amateur astronomers and students.

Westwood Hill and Caves
Westwood Hill is a public park located between the city centre and Belmont, at its 'summit' the hill commands great views over the port of Endora. The park sits on top of a vast network of caves that stretch for miles throughout the city. A popular attraction, the caves, both natural and man-made consist of silver and gem mines, subterranean rivers, a hotel and theatre and an ancient temple to an unknown god. The caves also contain a variety of fossils of bizzare ancient beasts as well as living organisms such as bats and will-o-wisps.

WOW! You have a fantastic imagination antimonycat. You've created some kind of retro-futurism. Carme
Carme is an island in central Endora consisting mainly of industrial buildings and docks. Carme was originally a marshy area where small ships could land at low tide but over the years the marsh was drained and the re-channeling of the river Tansy formed Carme into an island. The docks here tend to be bigger than those in the older historic harbourside and can better support larger ships.

This view of Endora was taken from Carme looking towards the city centre. Regent Square can be seen in the near distance.

Lenown Shipyard
The Lenown shipyard is one of the largest employers in Endora with more than 35,000 workers to its name.  The Lenown company owns numerous factories and docks throughout the city. As well as constructing vessels for both the Navy and civilian use, the company funds shipbuilding and engineering research projects.

Carme Docks
A merchant ship unloading coffee, tobacco and exotic fruits. Such goods are becoming cheaper but are still expensive due to the great distance the cargo has to travel.

Marsh Rock
As its name suggests, Marsh Rock was once a rocky hill on the north end of the Carme marsh. Today it's population consists mainly of industrial workers from the Lenown shipyard and other nearby factories. The area is served by a train station and is close to the city centre.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fsouthcarme.jpg&hash=78e65ee56c443c0a4005e285c890997167c30c4b)

South Carme
The southern end of Carme is a small leafy area which apparently retains a village atmosphere despite the large housing building the brand new highway.

Moth Lane
Moth Lane, a busy industrial street during the day, is popular with fans of experimental music and films at night. The Moth Lane Hotel and Inn contains a massive and wonderfully intricate electric organ. Built 11 years ago by the eccentric Haydn Fantine, the organ contained an analogue computing device powered by steam and electricity which produced the unearthly yet beautiful synthetic tones that were a great influence on the decade's music.

Battlecat: Thanks for the comment!
Swamper77: Thanks for stopping by and glad you liked this md.
Kimcar: Thanks! But I'm not great at Batting, I've found the tools really irritating to use so I'm only able to make simple content. All the complex custom stuff you see here like the ships are mostly Photoshop I'm afraid, though I've never really hidden that fact.

Bat: Thanks for the reply.
Thundercrack83:  Thank you.
Caliban X: Yeah I love retro-futuristic theming, I wish there was more content based on it. Thanks for the comment!
Art128: Thanks a lot for the nice comments.

Good stuff! The skyline shot is great. I love your style.

A durigible would be a great addition to the LEX. Maybe someone will make one. Shouldn't take too long. (Hint, hint)

Excellent update, antimoneycat! Carme is unique and just beautiful - the first photo says it all. Love the BATs you've chosen, and the detail work is astonishing. You do a great job on your docks as well as the surrounding areas. Considering the level of density, it's amazing how well everything fits together so perfectly.

I found your MD today.

It is incredible! I might as well give up my own pathetic efforts to construct a realistic region.

There is something very realistic in the chaotic way that you put lots together. I would never have thought of putting refinerylots by Somy and Tag_one in front of the Amsterdam Central Station and get away with it in the extraordinarily self-evident and matching way you are able to do it.
It makes your cities uniqe and lively in a very fine way.

The award is defitely earned.

You made a great deal of the lots yourself, didn't you? And there are some photoshopping things that are not really from the game?

And at last one question: where did you find the shipyard lots? I recognize the KimDomYung, but the largest lots, with the enrmous steel constructions? I recognize them, but don't know from where....

calibanX: Thanks a lot. I've tried to make airships but i've found it's beyond my skill to make them look good, so any that will appear will be made with Photoshop :)

Jmouse:Thanks for the great comments! With regards to the density I don't like leaving tiles empty for some reason, so I may have problems when making rural areas :)

Kimcar: Thanks for the comments and visting again.

Bat: Thank you very much!

Art128: Thanks a lot!

Xox: Thanks for stopping by.

Sciurus: Thanks for the comment!

FrankU: Thanks a lot (though I'm sure you'd be able to make a realistic region)! I've made my own content where I can but as I'm not very good at it, most of the complicated things were done on Photoshop. As for the shipyard lot? If you mean the huge one with the 2 ships it's at http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=4251&v=1 (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=4251&v=1).

Battlecat: Thanks! I've tried to make the skyline picture match the actual city and I think I've got it fairly close,  I just wish there was an in-game feature to view your city's skyline.

this is an amazing md. great, great work here. you seem to build so naturally around any kind of environment.  the hills and the slopes all look so nice and the fact that youve built around them rather than
flattening them out is great.  i also like how you dont use a lot of retaining walls and choose to keep it natural.

excellent work and very inspirational. looking forward to many more updates!

Templin Island
Templin, like Carme is an industrial island close to the city centre. Once a forested peninsula, a channel was cut through the East end to provde better access for vessels reaching the central docks. Much of the island was bought and developed in the last century by the influential Brandram family.

Dock 6
In the summer months, especially when it rains, the air around Templin can grow heavy with vile fumes that can leave a residue on buildings and even on clothes and skin.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fserendipity.jpg&hash=6caa456c04c51cf9176fd49ffc37bc11dac3e342)

I.A.V Serendipity
The Serendipity is an explorer-type vessel which left Endora 7 months ago on a mission to be the first vessel to circumnavigate the world. The Permian ocean, spanning 24,000 km is the most difficult stretch of the voyage, which is beyond the range of ordinary steamers and airships. Sailed vessels have attempted to make the journey but all have vanished without a trace.

The ship is equipped with a range of equipment, experimental super-efficient engines and large fuel tanks needed to traverse the ocean. The Serendipity was due to come back into radio range nearly a month ago but no contact has been established so far. The Navy remains optimistic.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fcannonst.jpg&hash=d1b988d5ceb960a52bcc0f53e6ff5e75f37162cb)

Cannon St.
Cannon street is the main road running through Templin. There is little else for a tourist to do here other than to view some of the gigantic industrial buildings or a historic ship. However, inhabitants of the island appreciate its gritty charm.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Ftemplinpump.jpg&hash=fe7ec3bb40161ddddbb0abbc10a561534a86a9bb)

Pumping Station
The first pumping station at this location was a wind-powered contraption bringing fresh water from an underground spring to a local temple. The spring has since been contaminated with seawater and the modern pumping station provides water for nearby industry.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Ftemplinferry.jpg&hash=c0fdc8cbef06816c58880732dce8722dcedf5252)

East Templin
Many Endorans pass through Templin by train without ever setting foot on the island. However Templin is worth a visit if you are interested in munition factories or purchasing goods directly from ships.

Wow. :o

I love your integration of industry, residential and commercial into one single unit with no clear delineation. The steam engine rolling along the tracks adds that extra touch to the overall steampunkiness (sp? ::)) you've so greatly achieved, though I'm still not sure if that's your stated goal. :P Either way, I'm just glad I beat mightygoose to describing it as such. ()stsfd()

One of the first things that sticks out to me is that apartment in the second image precariously perched over that rocky cliff, creates a very interesting composition and is just plain unique. I also love that steamship in the fourth image, but I have no idea where you even got it! $%Grinno$%

All in all, superb. :satisfied: Though I'm certainly sad to see the month end and have this fabulous MD removed from the OSITM.

Edit: Looking back for a second viewing, I just noticed the antique cars, stage coaches and old double-decker buses that traverse the streets of Endora. I small and very well done detail that I had completely missed! Amazing. :D

Your industrial areas are among the best I've ever seen. Truly you have a talent for cramming a lot of details into a small space and making it look superb. The close-up shots are quite stunning, and the waterfront does, indeed, have a "gritty charm" about it. Templin would be an interesting place to see first hand, although possibly not as beguiling and mysterious as it is in your pictures! :)

Definitely looking forward to

Minerva Square
Minerva Square is the largest public square in Endora and also the oldest. It stands on the site just outside the medieval city walls (now long gone) where grand rituals were known to occur. Although the inhabitants of the city are today, no longer very religious, many temples to various gods still stand in the surrounding area.

Festival of the Dead
Minerva Square is the starting point of the annual Festival of the Dead which falls on midwinter night. Those who participate wear masks and occult symbols and proceed to the Necropolis where they place the candles that they carry on small paper boats which float into the lake. More recently candles have also been attached to paper balloons that are released into the night.

Highgate Necropolis
The Necropolis or city of the dead is the largest cemetery in Endora and the Lanelle region (Although Aetheria city's necropolis is larger).  As well as space for burial of bodies, the deceased can also be cremated and scattered in the 'memorial pools' or even the central lake itself.

Highgate Necropolis - Owl Island
Owl island lies on the lake in the Necropolis and is the resting place of many famous people throughout the ages. Access is usually limited to the public and burial space in the tombs is very expensive but anyone regardless of wealth or status can have their ashes scattered on the island if requested.

The Rainbow House
The Rainbow house is little-known attraction in Endora hidded in the backstreets of Highgate. It is an artist's commune which opens to the public every weekend. The interior of the house is highly decorated with paintings, sculptures and artifacts, including a collection of stuffed animals, a mural made from human skin and a large unicorn statue.

Ivy Hill
Ivy hill is a small area of Highgate that, like many places in Endora has a village atmosphere despite being only a mile from the City Centre and metres away from the wide train line into the city. The population of Ivy Hill are known to be rather eccentric but friendly. According to an investigation by the University of Endora, Ivy hill has the largest population of cats in the city.

Aetherian Banknote
A 20 Gen banknote from Endora. Large cities or colonies of the Empire usually have their own unique banknotes although they are all legal tender throughout Imperial territory. The current Emperor or Empress is always displayed on the front face of the note, who at the time of writing is Eleanor II. She came to power 14 years ago and was very popular, but this has waned slightly due to concern at her decision to disband most of the elected high council and adopting a more autocratic approach. Her increasingly militaristic attitude has also attracted concern.

Kimcar: Thanks for visiting again
Grbac: Thanks, Yep I try to plan most things before I start building so I have to spend a lot of time deleting unwanted buildings.
Bat: Thank you.
DarkLoki: Thanks a lot. The terrain is annoying to work with but I prefer it to flat terrain.
CalibanX: Thanks. The ship is just photoshopped I'm afraid but thanks anyway.
Dark_Jedi06: Thanks for the nice comments. I did set out to make a steampunk-ish city though I haven't read too much into the theme in detail apart from being inspired from the various steampunk images I see. I think I just wanted something that was different from a real-world city.

kbieniu7:Thanks. Yeah I thought of reducing the steepness but it leads up to a bridge that crosses over to an island of a higher altitude, and redoing the whole track would destroy a lot of the buildings I already placed. There are actually real world railways that are as steep as that, though they're usually cargo or mountain trains.

Battlecat:Thanks a lot for stopping by again.
Jmouse: That's very nice of you to say that, though I imagine Templin would smell if it existed :).
Sebes: Thank you for visiting, hope you stop by again.

Oh my goodness! Thia is amazing! ;D Surely the most unique and gorgeous city I've ever seen, I'm having difficult choosing a favorite image from this update. ::) The second shot with huge smokestacks right in front to the church is certainly a powerful image. I'm also very impressed with how you've used the canals to form that lake; all right in the middle of a cemetery! $%Grinno$%

Needless to say, I'm still flabbergasted. :satisfied:

This is a great CJ. I just finished flipping through every page. Your city has a very chaotic, but also organized feel to it... organized chaos? It makes it feel very realistic. Your dock and port areas feel very grimey and are very well done. Really dig Belmont too. Keep up the great work.

I've read through a lot of MDs here, and this is starting to become one of my favorites.  Everything you post is amazing.  Hands down best MD pic that I've ever seen might be the Festival of the Dead that was in your most recent post, although a few others that you've put up are easily as good.

Keep up the good work!  I'll be waiting for your next update.

Endora Colosseum:
The Endora Colosseum, in the Lindcote area of Highgate, is the largest arena in the city and is popular with residents and tourists alike for its varied and frequent shows, ranging from small theatre productions to operatic works and even large mock battles. The smaller shows are usually performed in the interior theatres whilst tthe large scale weekly events utilise the main arena.

The largest events in the colosseum are usually on the weekend. Here, the epic 'Midnight Sun' production is being performed. The colosseum has machinery to generate snow or mist and is capable of filling the central arena with water.

Can I echo the previous two comments about that colosseum?  :P  But seriously, another great presentation- I didn't catch the writing on the bottom of the ticket the first time, but I like the theme (enchantment vs. industry) and the fact that you either added props or photoshopped the "clash" into the colosseum.  Great work!

Those are some of the most impressive screen captures I've ever seen! The lighting on the Colosseum is just incredible. As I look back and study your photos more carefully I see a unique mixture of fantasy and reality. I feel as though I'm thumbing through a storybook filled with pictures taken from real life and enhanced to create a specific atmosphere. Sorry if I haven't explained myself well - it's a difficult concept to express.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work...

I read the MDs every now and then, but when I stumbled over this one I was simply amazed by the effort and creativity that You put into it.
I would love to see more of Your cities, but I have to ask about all those "custom" ships like the Serendipity for instance, are they photoshopped in or are they actually props and in that case where did You find them?

I also noticed a patrolboat in one of Your early updates, is that automata? I have seen it as a prop, but the stream after the ship made me wonder...

Anyhow, great MD and please keep up the good work!

Your photoshopping on the colosseum is amazing - I know you say you don't bat, but with skills such as these, you are more than 3/4 of the way there....

As always, it's a pleasure to browse through this amazing fantasy!

Mightygoose: I'm afraid not. I can't BAT anything that complicated yet. As for those Japanese air vents, I've gone over my plugins folder and have tried to remember where they came from to no avail. I suspect it may be somewhere on here (http://tokitoko.hp.infoseek.co.jp/lot.htm) but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

Dark_Jedi06: Thanks for the comment!

Meinhosen: The appearance of the stadium is based on the theme of the city as a whole, not just the current play but thanks for the comment anyway!

CalibanX: I've never seen The Prisoner series in full but I do love the look of place where the 'village' is set (Portmerion?) and would love to visit it. Thanks for stopping by!

Evanator: Thanks a lot, glad you liked it!

Sciurus: Thanks!

Jmouse: Thank you for the nice comment! There isn't really any 'fantasy' elements per se, as everything in the city is pretty much achievable with 20th century technology but I did want a 'alternative history/steampunk' feel to the city, so I hope it came across that way.

Kimcar: I've tried to learn how to BAT but I just can't figure out how to do it well. The actual 3D modelling isn't too daunting, as I've made 3D content for other games before but I just can't figure out how to work with the tools without getting frustrated :( Thanks for visiting anyway!

Grbac: Thanks! Hope you stop by again.

Swesim: Hello, the custom ships are photoshopped so they can't be downloaded I'm afraid. I don't know which patrol boat you're referring to but the wake stream behind it was probably photoshopped too (though I'm unsure).I don't have any other large cities at the moment but I'll feature some of the other places in the region in future updates. Thanks for visiting and commenting!

Bat: Thank you!

Khiyana:
Thank you very much!

Art128: Thank you for the comment! hope you stop by again.

Mattb325: Thank you!

Sorry for no new images but a new update of a slightly different kind coming soon.

There is something about the mix of dirty industry and Parisian elegance that makes this so fascinating. I love the photoshop work with the smoke, signs and all the different lights & special effects! :) Those buses and old cars are a great detail that can be easily missed if not looked for carefully.

The way you blur the lines between the expected and unexpected is just incredible! Great work ;D

I have to agree, this is one of the best MDs I´ve seen, the "steampunk" feeling is clearly notable.
Your City gives me a strong feeling of Something like the golden compass or league of extraordinary gentlemen setting.
Sort of fantasy-like, but still within what could have been done at the turn of the century...

I've been following this MD since the beginning so I thought I'd better make a comment. I was beginning to drift away from the game back in January but this has rekindled my interest. I love the Victorian/modern setting, and your attention to detail is fantastic. Have you ever read The Difference Engine? Your city very much reminds me of the settings described in that book.

The photoshopping make the story much more credible and it is always nice to read about what people do in the cities...
Keep up the good work!

CalibanX: Thanks! The last picture as it was irritating to finish as I kept changing it, so glad you liked it.

JoeST: Cheers for the reply!

JJ: Thanks for visiting! I like seeing people's cities through the lives of it's citizens too, so that's why I did it.

Mmorales2: Thanks for stopping by!

WC_EEND: Thanks for the reply. The front of the Clockwork cat building was done on Photoshop so no download I'm afraid.

Mightygoose: Thanks for the comment! There's probably a quicker way to do it but the method I used was to freehand it then save the outline as a template that I pasted on each image . Here's what I mean: here (http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv117/antimonycat/outline.gif)

Vershner: Thanks for following the MD from the beginning! I've heard of it, haven't read it myself but have an interest in 'what if?' scenarios and mechanical computers so will make a note of the book.

Sciurus: Aww, thanks for the reply.

Kimcar: Thanks for visiting and the reply!

Jmouse: Thanks for the comment! Glad you noticed the little details.

CabraBuitre: Thanks! The steamship and the buses were made on Photoshop but I'm working on making the buses real automata.

Sweswim: Thank you very much for the nice reply. Hope you stop by in future updates!

Your last image, the view over Endora is superb. Is there a bigger version? It just screams desktop wallpaper ;).
And could you show how you make these collages or is there a tutorial somewhere?

Thanks!

: Hi. There *was* a larger version but when I reduced its size to 600 pixels, I forgot to save the original, sorry! Thanks for the reply though.

There isn't really a specific way in which I made the pictures. I just sketched out the basic features then pasted in the details from my photographs and stock images, then used the Photoshop tools to blend them together.

The Brandram Estate:
The Brandram Estate is an area of West Endora belonging to the wealthy Brandram family. Much of their wealth was gained through various means such as overseas trading, shipbuilding and engineering and have played a significant role in the growth and prosperity of the city.

Ashton & the Brandram Estate:
A view of the Brandram Estate and the suburb of Ashton (lower half of the picture) in relation to central Endora. The Estate once occupied a larger area but over many years, the city encroached upon much of its land.

Brandram House
Brandram House is the home of the head of the Brandram family. The grand mansion features various lavish rooms and a large inner atrium filled with examples of exotic stuffed animals.

Haydn Brandram
The current head of the household is Haydn Cyrus Brandram. His late father thoroughly invested in the city of Endora, commissioning many of its landmarks such as the Belmont suspension bridge and various dockyard and university facilities.

However, despite having an engineering degree, Haydn Brandram prefers to host extravagant parties and events instead of focusing on expanding the family's wealth. He and the Mayor of Endora often compete weekly, on which of them can host the most ridiculously expensive and decadent banquet or party.

I.A.V Endeavour
A Navy vessel, 'Endeavour', in dazzle camouflage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dazzle_camouflage) cruises past the Brandram Estate, returning to Endora from its Arctic survey mission. It's sister ship, the 'Serendipity' (http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv117/antimonycat/serendipity.jpg) is still missing after its attempt to circumnavigate the planet.

Dowager House
The Dowager house was occupied by the widow of the late head of the household, so the new heir could occupy the main house. As customs and traditions changed throughout the years, the house is no longer used for this purpose and now operates as a guest house.

Ashton
Ashton is a suburb of Endora adjacent to the Brandram Estate. A leafy and fairly quiet suburb by nature, it is more modest than the grand hilltop district of Belmont. (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=6964.msg225346#msg225346)

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fashtonhighst.jpg&hash=bba6be337856fa4b1160e43961ab983ac0c5d819)
Tansy Way
The Tansy way serves as Ashton's high street, with various small shops, inns and restaurants, and a railway station. The road is named after the River Tansy, one of the two large rivers on which Endora was built on.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fmarinerecruit.jpg&hash=8391a22d222e0e11481533e49b9d0b81eae643a8)
Marine Recruitment
The Navy attempts to recruit throughout Endora - and today they are in Ashton. The Imperial Navy and Marines offer adventure, discipline, decent pay and daily rations of rum for all recruits. All Imperial Military services accept both men and women providing the mental and fitness requirements are met. Successful Colonial and foreign recruits are granted citizenship after five years of service.

Sugar Factory
This large sugar factory in Ashton refines imported raw sugar into various other forms such as sugarloaf, toffee and caramel. Many sugar-producing territories of the Empire are effectively prohibited from refining their own raw sugar to protect factories such as this one.

Endora Botanic Gardens
The Endora Botanic gardens are extensive gardens and glasshouses built for collecting and studying flora from around the world. Despite paling in comparison to larger and more comprehensive botanic gardens, the Endora gardens still have a respectable collection of specimens and boasts an intricate system of underground steam-powered machinery to heat the various tropical glasshouses. The gardens are open throughout the year and are a must-see for anyone with an interest in botany.

Endora Pagoda
The Pagoda was originally a gift from the Governor of Midori to Emperor Amarande in 1702. It was constructed in Midori itself then transported by ship, piece by piece and reconstructed in the Endora Botanic Gardens. 87 years later it still stands strong and is a very popular attraction.

I have come to expect exemplary scenes when I visit Endora, and I haven't been disappointed yet. Your Photoshop skills remain some of the best I've ever seen in game, but you have an amazing foundation of decorative abilities to start with.

The Brandram Estate is a classic
- beautifully done right down to the smallest detail. I am especially interested in your shorelines - I spend hours on mine and they aren't even in the same ballpark with yours. In many cases, it seems that less is more. I love the way you leave open spaces, yet still give the overall impression of a substantial forest, too.

Superb work...

Ambrell is an industrial area in Southern Endora, lying in the peninsula between the river Tansy to the North and the larger river Foxglove to the south.

Ambrell High Street
Ambrell High Street runs along a small channelized river and has a variety of shops and cafes. Frequent bus services run between Ambrell and Endora's city centre. The local daily market specializes in fine blue glassware and preserved meats.

Ambrell (East)
The prestigious South Endora College of Art is based in the Eastern part of Ambrell, the grassy area outside is popular with the students in the summer months. Local landmarks include The mysterious 'cat building' and the many murals painted on walls. Many small galleries and arts and crafts shops can be found if one takes the time to explore Ambrell's back streets.

Ambrell Station
Due to the awkward geography of South Endora, the rail links from Ambrell to the rest of the city are somewhat convuluted. Ambrell station has direct links to Endora's main railway station, Well Street (http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/vv117/antimonycat/station.jpg) but Ambrell residents will often advise it is often quicker and cheaper to catch a bus.

The Transmitter
The Ambrell transmitter is one of seven built on hills around Endora. This one is mainly used for civilian radio and maritime broadcasts. Locals often remark at the high frequency of lightning striking the mast during storms.

Newspaper Office
The office of the 'Endora Merchant Bulletin' can be found on Ambrell High street. The newspaper is known more by merchants for its useful advertisments than news.

Endora Naval Base
The Imperial Navy has a base in Endora, large enough for heavier ships to dock, however, Endora as a whole can be considered a naval base in itself as navy vessels occasionally dock at civilian berths.

Repair Dock
Welders and riveters work through the night as Serendipity undergoes repairs in dry dock. It is intended that she is sufficiently seaworthy so that she can take part in the upcoming New Year celebrations. It was feared that the Serendipity was too badly damaged to be salvaged but a closer inspection proved otherwise.

Flagship
The last 15 years has seen rival nations building larger warships, challenging the Empire's naval superiority. The Empress proposed a new class of ship to outclass any other and serve as a warning to rival nations. Built with no regard for cost, only 3 Horizon class ships were able to be built. Heavily armoured with a massive gun battery and the new invention RADAR, they were designed to engage multiple capital ships with ease.

Endora's Airstation was finally completed 5 years ago in 1784 and replaced the grassy field used previously as a flat landing area for airships and biplanes. Smaller airships can dock directly with the 8 central landing platforms near the main terminal while larger vessels use the wide concrete areas further away.Airship travel is popular with the wealthier members of society for its speed advantage over seafaring vessels, though it is still far too expensive for the lower classes. A railway station links the terminal building to the centre of Endora, with a fast journey time of 15 minutes.

Cargo Ship docked
There are two types of airship currently in service.  'Light airships' use helium or (riskier) hydrogen to provide lift, whilst 'heavy airships' use efferogene gas, which provides astonishing lifting properties when exposed to a high enough voltage. Heavy airships, like this one pictured, are expensive to manufacture but are more practical and safer in bad weather.

Thanks for the update!  Your presentation and style remind me of a combination of graphic novels, inasmuch that a lot of your background photoshopping can sometimes be more fascinating than the actual subject of the screenshot(s) (the wires running across streets between buildings on the third pic and the welders on the drydock pic are a pretty good example of what I mean).

Great work!

Cheers to the survivors of the Serendipity. Glad to hear they were triumphant over the sea monst.....enemy. The port and the airstation are particularly fantastic. Great update! I love it.

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

I love the custom adds and the airport is nicely done but don't you think 1784 is alittle in acurate I mean they had baloons but past that no other lighter than aircraft or aircraft for that matter ever existed and if they did they wouldn't be advanced like those+ They wouldn't have advanced factories ports or office buildings. They didn't come close to buses and the best trains were pulled by horses or heavy steal and iron tangles of pipe and machinery with no cover for the driver. So unless this is a super advanced nation with no cantact from the outside world that can't be possible.

I don't think Endora is part of our timeline, Daniel. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not even on Earth. So it can pretty much be any year that antimonycat says it is and the technology will fit just fine.

More awesome work, antimonycat! You've done another great job. Looking forward to more!

Glowbal: Thanks for the comment!

Jmdude1: Thank you for visting and replying. Hope to see you again.

Vershner: Indeed it is, I'm sure I've seen one somewhere before but can't think where. Thanks for the reply.

Meinhosen: Thanks for visiting! Glad it reminded you of graphic novels and such, I like to put in little details and hope people notice some of them, no one's mentioned the frequent references to cats yet though :) Hope you stop by again.

CalibanX: Yep, sea monsters are no match for steel-hulled ships (are they?), thanks for the nice comments! and hope you stop by at the next update.

Danielcote: Well, I never intended Endora to be a real city on Earth or part of our history so I feel I can be a bit flexible with levels of technology etc. However, I think if this MD was part of our world, the technology level and would be similar to that of the 1900's - 1930's. Thanks for the reply!

woodb3kmaster: Yep, that's right. I actually thought of basing this MD on a real city, with real life recreations but in the end I thought it'd be more fun to base it on my own 'universe'. Thanks for the reply and hope you visit again!

Xox: Thank you for the reply! I'm not sure about a 'super rich district' but I've shown a fairly wealthy area here. (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=6964.msg225346#msg225346)

Peter007: Thanks for visiting,  I hope to finish the next one in a week or 2.

Wow, thanks all for the replies and comments, much appreciated indeed!

Rooker1: Thanks for replying, and thanks again for helping make this update possible :)

Drx.94: Thank you very much.

Fabian93: Thanks a lot for the nice comment. I too don't know what to write back... so you can have a cake :) (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2FCake-1-icon-1.jpg&hash=afcad309230d8c0a6e8ed7c24b9280ec4442f1be)

WC_EEND: Thanks for visiting, glad you liked Endora's return.

Gottago: Glad you found it fascinating, hope you stop by again.

Kimcar: Thanks for visiting! The round building, I think, is one of the props in the Maxis castle building 'Longfellow Keep' although I can't check this right now. Hope that helps anyway.

TiFlo: Thanks for the reply!

ManuelR: Thank you for the compliment!

Battlecat: Thanks! I'm glad you liked the city's 'character' because that's probably what I like most when reading MD's, even more than the appearance or custom objects.

CalibanX: Thanks! I really appreciate the nice comment, hope to see you next update.

Sciurus: Hah, I had to look up 'À COUPER LE SOUFFLE!' in a translator as I'd forgotten most of the French I learned at school, thanks for the reply! :)

Engorn: Thanks for nice reply! This update was supposed to be complete a couple of months ago but I got sidetracked for a while. I'm glad you liked it anyway.

Soulchaser: Thank you very much! hope you stop by and see the next update.

Canyonjumper: Hi, thanks for visting and replying!

Buildingup: Glad you like the update! thanks and hope you visit again.

Mattb325: Thank very much! and I've always liked to use 'fantastic' in that sense of the word :)

Yan077: Thanks for replying, glad you liked Endora's return.

Thomas Neto: Thanks for the kind compliment, hope to see you back later!

Jmouse: Thanks very much for the nice comments regarding the pictures, although I'm not sure why you called me Yann :D

Struka: The paintings are mostly digital, but a few of them started off as drawings on paper. Thanks for favouriting!

Mightygoose: No don't feel like that, it's nice to see more steampunk MD's, in fact the more the merrier! I read and posted a reply on your MD :)

Smokes!

antimonycat, this MD is amazing! I love the steampunk theme, and the Photoshopping is tasteful and highly skilled. Your city has a sort of homogeneity that I can never achieve, but still stays interesting with tiny details such as welders in the dry docks or wires running between buildings.

I will definitely keep watching this MD! I sense a new Hall of Fame MD on the rise!

Well, part 3 of Endora's New Year is taking longer than expected, mainly due to myself adding more and more to it (and I really don't want to stretch it to a part 4). So in the meantime I'll do some replies and show a picture of a shipwreck while I finish the last part of the three-parter.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi675.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fvv117%2Fantimonycat%2Fclyde.jpg&hash=081594e742d47bf6fa3af1dfd41506067f46d068)
In the Winter of 1769, the paddle-wheeled freighter 'Clyde' embarked from Liranu to Endora laden with timber and 300 kegs of premium ale. The ill disciplined
crew drank much of the cargo and during a heavy storm, the ship ran aground approximately 12 miles South-West of Endora.

Danielcote: Thanks a lot! glad you appreciate the whimsy :)

Kwakelaar: The Empress is not a very nice person at all , as you'll see in future updates :) Thanks for the reply!

Buildingup: I might show glimpses of a future Endora like I did with the medieval view of the city. I'd say based on our technology, Endora is at around the 1920-1930's standard overall, with a few variations of course.  Thanks for the comment!

Sciurus: Thank you again for the nice compliment!

M.M.Malwin: Thanks for replying and hope you'll like forthcoming updates!

Alfadriver12345: Thank you for replying, hope you visit again.

CSGdesign: Thanks for the reply and visiting for the first time!

Nedalezz: Thanks a lot for the nice compliments, hope you stop by for the next update!

Dragonshardz: Thanks very much for the reply and I'm glad you've noticed the little details. I don't think I could ever produce enough content from this MD to make it past bestsellers, as it's only one city,  but I could always start a new one (based in the same world and time )once I've finished with Endora.

I just looked through this MD today and it looks AMAZING!!! Your photoshopping skills are remarkable and the "steampunk" style city you made is truly stunning! The smoggy smokestacks standing to adjacent skyscrapers looks awsome. The areal shots look great and the smog you photoshoped into all of the pics makes me feel emersed into this steampunk world. CalibanX: Thanks a lot, shorelines scare me so I'm glad it turned out ok.

Canyonjumper: Thanks, hope you like part 3.

Planetechef: Thank you very much for the nice comments. If you liked that movie I'm sure you'd like the steampunk genre overall. Hope you stop by again.

Marcszar: Thanks a lot for replying, I'd love to live in a steampunk world too - though I'd miss the internet.

Marsh: Glad you like the style of my city, though I always find smog irritating to add for some reason. I wish the default Maxis smoke was
larger in appearance to save me time :)

Battlecat: Thanks for the reply!

Armagin: Thanks for the reply. I usually start with natural growth (especially in residential areas) then start to remove buildings I don't like and plop new ones where I see fit. Sometimes however if I want to recreate something exactly, either from my imagination or a real area, I prefer plopped buildings.

Tomas Neto: Thanks for visiting + the reply, hope you stop by again.

Kimcar: Thanks for stopping by, not sure what you mean about the image though?

Buildingup: Thanks for replying, some of the Maxis buildings are really nice, I think it's just that everyone's sick of seeing them :)

Ecoba: Thank you very much.

Mightygoose: Thanks a lot!

Yan077: Thanks for the compliment.

Kelis: Thanks!

Girafe: Thanks a lot, hope you visit again for the next update.

Engorn: Sorry, even though I have quite a lot of free time, I don't update as much as I should, thanks anyway!

JoeST: Thanks!

I_love_lamp: Oh my, thanks for the reply.

This is soooooo beautiful! I love the style of your MD. As a French, it reminds me a lot of the aesthetic universe of Enki Bilal, Jules Verne, and especially that of the "Artifices" album of the comic Sillage (http://www.poukram.org/index_serie.php?tome=6).

Wow, where to begin? There is sooooo much to take in. A couple of things stood out as I drank in this most excellent update. That roundabout with the multistory buildings on/in it. I loved that. Your naval base is superb. Those Battlecruisers look pretty tough. I couldn't help my mind going to the Korova Milk Bar when I saw your Clockwork Cat lounge. I find myself wanting to know where you are getting some of these photoshopped images appearing in your MD.......but please don't tell.

You're a fantastic artist and storyteller, antimonycat! This latest update was a real tour-de-force, even for the high-quality kind of updates you've always posted here. The warships are certainly a great touch; I must ask, are they real SC4 plugins or just sophisticated Photoshoppery? Either way, they're a real testament to your artistic prowess.

Looking forward to more!

What a perfect combination - the eye for building extremely realistic cities with photoshopping ability second to none. That is the deadliest combination, and the end result is obviously a truly revolutionary MD of which, in its own genre, has never been seen before.

The naval base is a spectacular site, and with the added effects of photoshop, becomes an instant classic in terms of pictures.

The storyline...such intrigue, completely captures the imagination and really has you feeling that you are reading a book.

10/10!

The most amazing aspect of this MD is that its like an alternative reality of Earth history  &scl().A fantastic mixture of Victorian,Art Nouveau & Art Deco styles.                            Will this MD evolve into a warlike story  %BUd% ? Will Endora embark on an empire building future ? In anticipation I'll wait & see?!?!?!?

It's pretty much impossible to tell where SC4 ends and the photoshopping begins.  It makes me wonder which of the amazing things we're seeing are part of your secret SC4 stash and what's photoshop!

Would you be willing (even if it was in a different thread) to show some before and after pictures, one with regular SC4 and one with the photoshopping?

Keep up the great work!

Well, Cabrabruite just said before me, it's funny to try to find the SC4 bats beside the photoshopping stuff, i agree with you when you said early then your MD could let people said then it's not really anymore at this point the game, but it's so unique and so beautifull then i think he doesn't mather & some of your pictures, let's said, thoses with the less photoshopping work  :P should be on the picture competition hall of fame, i can imagine with this amount of work, why it will be difficult to push your MD on the next level, so anyway, congrats on this new fantastic update and i hope some many more will follow.
Title: Re: Endora
Post by: Engorn on April 17, 2010, 12:45:13 AM
This is... a... this is... Damn, there aren't any words to describe it. Maybe only one gesture...

Everything you do with your MD is amazing, the atmosphere, the story, etc. As I said before (and I will never stop saying), I love this MD, I think it's my favourite (damn, I love it more than my own MD :D ). But today I have a little "critic" to you. Maybe you should put a shadow or something in some texts, like on the description of the Tiamat. Some words are hard to read due the background picture. If the colors of the picture are light and the letters are white, is difficult to read. ;) Apart of that, the rest is stunning.

I simply cannot believe I've never come across this MD. This is hands down my favorite city I've ever come across. the Steampunk setting and story is excellent and the amount of time and skill you've put into building the city and post-pro is incredible. I thought I'd seen some excellent stuff, but this blows me away.
