For all those, who are using the NAM and my EuroTextures:
Because there are new bridges and puzzlepieces, I've made an update to the NAM-Eurotextures.
The needed files are now in the LEX
Thank you very much!!!
Very good - and very quick! Bravo
&apls I have yet to install the new NAM, but this will now give me some motivation.
Thanks a lot for this! &apls It's a very useful file, Well Done!
Vielen Dank mein Freund
As an euro player, I am really interested in this ;D
Keep us informed about new updates ;) ¡¡¡
(grin) muchas gracias, mi amigo ;)
This is only the update for the NAM, the other (2) files are unchanged since they are done at the end of 2005. If you like it, I would upload all 3 files in your file-center :)
Oh yes, please, it would be nice to have them here too. I`ll contact you again with instructions ;)
Thanks for the addition!
Frimi, if you want to upload anything to the LEX, simple register and PM back. You'll get uploading rights asap ;D
Great stuff frimi. I am 1 person that uses the euro-textures so this will be very useful cheers
Thanks for the update Frimi! The Euro textures are definately a part of my cities!
Welcome to sc4d, frimi. Great to see you around.
Thanks for the update.
Thanks for this! Will you be doing updates for the euro highway textures?
Thanks so much for this Frimi, this is so useful. ;D
toxicpiano: If you are referring to the asphalt highway texture mod; I recently posted a quick fix i made for the new NAM at the simcities.com (http://www.simcities.com) exchange.

The existing euro highway textures are not made by me. May be some day I'll set up a new project
with highway textures, but not yet, because lack of time. Sorry :)
thanks you frimi! i downloaded the textures at once!!
should be nice if you made new ones with highway textures!
May be, some day ;) For the moment, I have no time, sorry :)
@Frimi: I found glitches in the El-rail over Road Puzzle Pieces.
In this screenshot, top is yours, bottom is NAM's.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg524.imageshack.us%2Fimg524%2F665%2Felrailoverroadglitchhx4.th.jpg&hash=80c0ad2530dcf45cb874be629292f3b1d920f0c7) (http://img524.imageshack.us/my.php?image=elrailoverroadglitchhx4.jpg)
As you can see, sidewalks in intersections and supports in straight section are disappearing. In my opinion, 0x53263800, 0x53263900, 0x53263a00, 0x53263b00 and 0x53263d00, these textures shouldn't have the alphamap because NAM's textures using same IIDs have no alphamap.
In next update, please fix this. Thanks in advance.
Hmm, with the June07 Nam, the euro textures on the turning lanes aren't appearing, is this just me or is anyone else having this prob?
I assume there will be a new update to this fantastic mod due to the new amazing nam including the curvey roads? :) ;)
Well, I'm sure frimi will update the Euro textures as soon as possible, but lately, he has been caught up by RL a bit. The turning lanes haven't changed, but maybe you forgot to install the turning lanes plugin? For performance reason, the road turning lane plugin isn't selected by default, so you have to do that manually while installing the new NAM.
It seems there's a very minor conflict in the Euro mod with the road roundabouts. They will still draw as the default intersections, so people will need to be reminded that the plugin should load after the Euro Road Mod.

I've found the same effect...as long as they are loaded after nam...the vast majority of the textures are fine for use.

The road roundabouts haven't been changed since the last NAM version. And the Euro Textures need to be loaded last, of course, otherwise the roundabout textures will show up with the US textures. I talked to frimi about an Euro road textures update, and he said he'll look into it soon, time permitting.

I WAS having a bug like this, but adding a z_ to the folder name of the EuroTexturesMod folder (whatever you've called it) seems to have fixed the issue. ERTM is loading after the NAM and I'm having all of zero major bugs (roundabouts look fine, I've drawn them, they had Euro roundabout textures).
*dusts off thread*
Since frimi has some serious RLS at the moment, I'm in the process of updating the Euro Road Textures Mod. So far, I have completed the GLR crossings for the draggable GLR, and I've also created some new textures for GoaSkin's underground rail puzzle pieces. Quite a few people suggested to get rid of the red sidewalk textures, so I added some regular concrete textures, like they are used virtually everywhere in the game. GoaSkin used those red textures to indicate the position of the puzzle pieces in a city, but I figure most people want to integrate them as good as possible into their cities.

What is still missing are the gentle road curves that were created by dedgren and Tarkus. dedgren once mentioned in the forums that he's working on better textures for them, so I hope he is able to create some Euro textures as well, since I'm not exactly the greatest texture artist on earth. I'm also working on new textures for Marrast's road underpass, but ran into some issues that need to be fixed first. I will have a look at the double-decker puzzle pieces, as ebina pointed out some time ago, as well.
Due to the new modular NAM, I will change the structure of the files for the Euro textures as well. But by using a NAM-like installer, you shouldn't have to worry about that. If there are more problems or things that need to be improved, please let me know.
Looks great Andreas,
The only thing is not being able to tell the difference between normal road and rail under road.
This is some awesome news. I can't wait until it all comes together.

These look wonderful, Andreas! Fantastic job!
awesome
Well, as I mentioned earlier, I ran into some kind of roadblock with the Marrast Underpass. But first, a picture:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg113.imageshack.us%2Fimg113%2F9636%2Fmarrastunderpasseurotexxk1.th.jpg&hash=e5edebaeaea52c6482c46fc2b2a9851f9f13e709) (http://img113.imageshack.us/my.php?image=marrastunderpasseurotexxk1.jpg)
As you can see there's a problem with those black bars; Geoffhaw told me that this could be fixed by applying an alpha map to the textures (as far as I can see, the alpha map of the original textures is just plain white). I'm not exactly good when it comes to creating textures; I can merely copy & paste stuff, and applying simple lines, which still takes a lot of time.
Geoffhaw also told me that for BAT textures, I need to edit all zoom levels manually, since the quality suffers if I simply reduce the size by 50% for each level. Also, the night textures need to be changed. So if anyone wants to take up the challenge (editing some 20 textures or so), please drop me a note. :)
You will need to add extra to the textures to prevent them from bleeding - that is, you will need to actually add a little bit more of the texture to ensure they blend in smoothly.
Well, I followed Geoffhaw's advice, and the result turned out pretty well. :)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg340.imageshack.us%2Fimg340%2F1452%2Fmarrastunderpasseurotexgn4.jpg&hash=5742fbd7820bafbd57569768651d33ae316a7018)
I need to adjust some of the textures, since the white lines don't match up, but now that I have a template, it shouldn't be too hard to do the rest myself. Thanks to anyone who offered help! :)
That's looking very nice, Andreas! Great work on these textures!
They are wonderful!
Great job Andreas on both the ERT textures and fixing the underpass textures. Looking forward to have them in the game again.
Great work, Andreas! The underpass looks amazing!
I have the Euro mod and turning lanes sometimes will appear US and sometimes Euro: onslopes still have yellow lines. Is this a simple "add a Z" problem?
The Euro Road Textures Mod should be loaded after the NAM and all other road texture mods. So yes, this might be a "z-problem". Put the ERTM folder inside the NAM folder and add one or two "z" in front, then it should be loaded after all NAM-related content.

I found a duplicated texture file, so I've updated that part.
Quick update: Chrisim kindly helped me with converting the Marrast Road Underpass textures, so the update Euro Road Textures Mod is almost ready for release. The only thing that's still missing is the textures for dedgren's NAM Gentle Road Curve Puzzle Pieces. Hopefully, he finds some time for updating those textures soon, so I can include them into the ERTM. I've also broke down the NAM textures into separate DATs, so they reflect the modular NAM plugin approach. The issue that ebina has reported with the double-decker puzzle pieces is fixed as well.
Furthermore, I created some European textures for ardecila's Madison Wells Station, PEG's CDK ferries and some textures from NOB's Ftexture.dat. If you know some other lots that have US textures included, please name them here, then I can look if I can create some Euro textures for those as well. Most likely, I won't convert any more textures that are included in the BAT model, since it's too time-consuming.
I'm really looking forward to the new release of this Andreas.
Thanks for the work you've put into updating this!
I also looking forward to the new release, Andreas! ;)
Awesomeness!
nice Andreas, can't wait for the release!
BTW, 5th of November... is that the release date by any chance? :D
...would be great cause that is also my birthday ;)
take care,
I'll see what I can do. ;) Basically, only one set of textures is still missing, but hopefully, I'll get those soon. :)
With my 100th post in these forums. I'll say Awesome job Andreas with the updates. Keep Up the Great Work.

The SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod has been released! Get it here (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1302) and make sure to read the readme file. All previous versions of the mod must be removed for proper functionality.
Andreas, I would hug you if I could ....so consider yourself lucky :D
seriously: great work, I'm on my way to download it right now.
Thanks you for this! Wonderful work!
The much anticipated textures are available! Thank you for this great modification for our roads and sharing it with the community.
THank you very much!!! just downloading now....
Oh yeah, this'll give me an excuse to use the curved road pieces! ::D
I have a problem with the newly released euro textures. Even though i check the "install zebra crossing textures" option, it doesn't show up in game. Any ideas?
try redrawing the roads... it also helps for some other NAM tools... like turning lanes at crossings
Have a look at the installation folder. Is the file "zzz3_Euro_Textures_Crosswalks.dat" installed? Or maybe it gets overwritten by some other file? Check if the ERTM is loaded after the other mods you have installed.
I have updated the SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod again. The new version contains textures for various new NAM items, a complete set of SAM textures, and Euro textures for xannepan's Bourse de Commerce. Also included are updated Overpass Mod textures by ebina. The old ZIP files for Mac users have been locked and replaced by a single download, the Windows installer has been updated.

Excellent! Thank you, Andreas--for all your hard work!
Dustin
You're the greatest
I doubt that the Euro Texture update will help; but it appears that other SFBT pieces may also require an update (albeit minor): since I installed the new NAM I am getting this weired effect around the diagonal filler pieces - which, again, no longer fill..
Eh, do you have a daytime shot? I can hardly see anything. ;) The filler lots are not affected by the NAM or the Euro Road Textures Mod, since those only change network textures, but not lots.

This is true, but if a transit network texture and a lot texture/overlay have the same ID, there can be a conflict. Yes, I know about the Group IDs being different, but the Instance IDs can still cause a conflict. I had this happen once when a lot texture and a vehicle skin had the same Instance ID. I ended up with the vehicle skin appearing on a lot because of this.

Attached a patch file to add euro texture to diagonal heavy rail over diagonal road piece added in the latest NAM. I was forgetting to create a texture for it. Simply copy a file to folder where other ERTM files are in.
Apart from that, I have tweaked road roundabout a little. If you are using non maxis sidewalk textures, you can easily get compatibility with them.

Sorry about the "night time shot", but I've meanwhile determined that it is actually the famed "Water Bug" that does these effects. It seems the filler pieces are partially transparent, because once it happens to a filler piece, other, similarily textured items show the same effect: the pipeline set, for example, and the tracks with the stationary rail cars, fall under the same spell.
hi all. the NAM and SFBT teams have done great work with these mods  i have a slight problem though (i'm sure there are others) where the old Euro Road Texture mod is not compatible with updates in the NAM.
the one i've noticed is where joining a diagonal street to a diagonal road. this has been revamped in the new NAM which i'm really pleased about. it now forms a true diagonal T-junction just like joining a diagonal road to another diagonal road. however, the texture on one part of the road at the diagonal T-junction appears as the default, instead of the Euro Texture.
is there an update planned for the Euro Road Texture Mod to fix this issue? (and fix any others that arise beacuse of updates in the NAM which the older Euro Road mod couldn't account for)

I have updated the SFBT Euro Road Textures mod along with the new NAM, but I might have missed that particular texture. Could you please post a pic of the problem?
@ebina: Thanks for the update as well. I will include the fixes in the next update. :)
@HandsOn: Yes, two or three of the diagonal fillers have transparent base textures, and those are affected by the infamous "water graphics bug". The rest of the lots should be fine, though.
i'm sorry Andreas &ops it seems i'd mistakenly downloaded a much older version of the mod from Simtropolis (2006 i think). i've installed the latest version now and the problem has been fixed :) sorry about the mistake. great work once again!
The new euro texture is very good
I know I'm reviving an old thread but since the new nam is out, I thought it would be alright. Will there be new textures for the new Nam
Yes, there will be an update. I have created Euro textures most of the new items already, so I just need to check what's still missing, and compile another release. :)
Very nice roundabouts. But when will we can download this new texture?
When it's ready, obviously. ;)
Great. I can't wait
ditto
I've done, based on Andreas's kind inquiry, the Euro textures for the FAR to diagonal transition that is in the January '09 NAM.

I've just uploaded an update of the SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod, which should cover all recent NAM additions, as well as some bugfixes.

Download Mac version (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1605)
What's new?
- Euro textures for the NAM Wide Radius Curves plugin
- Euro textures for the NAM Wide Radius Curves plugin with dashed lines for some curves (optional; please note that you still need the file mentioned above for the rest of the curves)
- Euro textures for sithlrd98's alternative Wide Radius Curve textures
- Euro textures for the NAM FLUPs plugin
- Euro textures for the NAM T-RAM plugin
- some updated textures in order to fix a few bugs and graphical glitches
Many thanks to chrisim and Schleicher68 for the FLUP and T-RAM Euro textures, to dedgren for the Wide Radius Curve textures, to sithlrd98 for the alterative WRC textures, to ebina for the bugfixes, and to everyone else that I might have missed. :)
Thanks a lot
Thank you again Andreas for distributing this way as it truly was smother than what I was originally planing!(Didn't realize just how many texture sets you had to cover!) And thank you David for such awesome grid breaking goodies!
I actually never had tried any Euro mod before now ,I really like it! &apls &apls
Jayson
With the flup entrance/exit portal, I'm still getting the double yellow lines, is this normal? Also, I would like to request that buddybud;s pieces be included in the future.
The FLUP textures should have been included, but I'll check that again.
The file is there, and the road over road pieces have the correct texture, just the piece that goes under doesnt. Also, none of the road networks over RHW have the euro texture eithier, even though in preview it shows the texture.
Ahh, I found the problem. The FLUP underpass ramp does have Euro textures for me, but they are not in the FLUP plugin, but in the DAT for Marrast's underpasses (as they use the same model). So run the installer again and select the file for Marrast's underpasses, then the FLUP underpass ramp should have Euro textures as well.
As for any RHW-related Euro textures, I was told by Shadow Assassin that he's working on those. As a temporary fix, I made a texture that puts Euro textures on the RHW/Road Overpass, which I attached to my posting. This should cover the most common situation of an RHW/Road intersection, I guess.
Glorious! Thank you very much. ;D
Not sure if this question is better suited here or somewhere else, but --
I was wondering if there was any mod out there (or one in the works) that will give me the white sidewalks on the rail-under-road pieces, but also let me keep my American road textures? I've got a few places I'd like to use those puzzle pieces, but the red sidewalks and those big lightposts just stick out like a sore thumb.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Well, I didn't like the red bricks, so I changed that to the white sidewalk when I was creating the Euro textures for those pieces. GoaSkin originally used the red brick in order to make the pieces more distinctive, but I agree that they stick out a bit too much. I'll see if I can find my source textures, then I could create a patch with US textures as well.

I hope I can share beta version soon.
Ah yes, I completely forgot about that one - even better than my approach. :)
Awesome. Looking forward to seeing this released (as I'm sure many others are)
Bump.
Does the old ERTM mod (pre april 2010) work with this one? Doesn't it need updating now? Or did the NAM team not change a road texture at all?
Hmm, I think ebina uploaded updated Euro textures for those as well - I'll have to check my files, though. Those will go into an update of the ERTM, but I'd prefer if that one would contain the rest of the new NAM stuff as well.
When is really the texture will come out for download?
I'm hoping to go out and upgrade anything...
Sorry for my bad english :B
It took a while this time, but now it's finally here: I've uploaded an update of the SFBT Euro Road Textures Mod, which should cover all recent NAM additions, as well as some bugfixes. Also included are the NWM Euro textures by mrtnrln and riiga, which have been published separately at the STEX a while ago. I changed mrtnrln's textures for the NAM TuLEP plugin, though; they now use the same appearance as the NAM Road Turning Lane plugin (see picture below). Also included is a file that contains new menu icons for the NWM, showing the white Euro textures.

- Updated Euro textures for the NAM items that have been changed in the latest release
- Euro textures for the Network Widening Mod
- Euro textures for the NAM TuLEPs plugin
- some updated textures in order to fix a few bugs and graphical glitches
Many thanks to mrtnrln and riiga for the NWM Euro textures, to ebina for the NAM texture updates, and to everyone else that I might have missed. :)

EDIT: Updated!
Thanks a lot Andreas for updating this baby ;)
Good news, thanks Andreas
What has'nt the SFBT done to make this game any better? Thanks guys.
I didn't think it was worth starting a new thread for this, but I was just curious why this happens on my NWM transition pieces:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg834.imageshack.us%2Fimg834%2F8122%2Fnwmgraphicglitch.jpg&hash=a50ff8877a201ba0bab293be82c5746e02510cc1)
In addition to this I also get the occasional lines going through the pieces as well. Any help would be appreciated. :)
That's because you we made everything else so perfect, that something just had to go wrong. =) Just kidding! Wonder where you got the awesome looking grass.
That grass is from cycledogg's meadowshire terrain mod, occurring at certain slopes, especially at higher elevation. You can find the mod on the LEX
