In order to celebrate 10 years of SimCity4, Rush Hour and 7 years of SC4D I present the Ben's Top Ten Time Machine!

Traditionally I have started BTTs around Christmas, so I set the dials on the Time Machine for the end of 2006...

Well done to the 1st number one - Grand Canyon by jeronij.

And welcome to the inaugural top 5: Elephant Bay, Metasmurf's Showcase, Finishing Peraires, and Rayden's Shosaloza.

I think the site may have been restructured at some point, so I am not sure if they were absolutely the first 5. There were a couple of MDs that were updated earlier than this, but there weren't consistent updates for me to apply my formula to until 28 Dec 2006. So they were among the very first, even if they may not have been the actual first. From this point forward every MD created was included when running the formula, as long as it still had entries - if something was deleted then it is gone forever.

Great! Now where's Silvio when you need him? Not to mention mr. J himself  $%Grinno$%

Thanks Ben. This'll be interesting to follow.

I believe that when 3RR migrated over from ST (Dec. 20th), it was originally in the regular MD section.

I knew of SC4D in '06, but I wasn't actually on yet, so I missed some of the early MDs.  This really takes me back, though.  While we didn't have all of the content to work with at that time that we have now, the downloads available then were top-grade for their day and many of them are still used today.  Of course, some of the content has been updated, particularly the NAM.

Congratulations to Jeronij and the others that have made BTT:TM.

Hi, art128. Thanks for being the first respondent in this new-old thread!

Hi, Swordmaster. I often wonder what past SC4 'masters' would be creating if they were still playing, although I have to say in most cases the images from the past hold up very well.

Hi, Tarkus. Thanks for the clarification. I decided to go with the current structure of the site for my retrofitting.

Hi, metarvo. The game today would not be possible without all the pioneering that dedicated players have done in the past. Hopefully this thread will celebrate their accomplishments in their MDs.

Hi, Mr.Lin. Thank you!

Hi, Kergelen. It has been amazing to sift through the past.

Hi, noahclem. Glad you like it.

Always loved how Jeronij managed to build on difficult landscapes.

Thank you for the stats, Ben!

This is going to be an interesting ride. Great to see what were the "humble" beginnings of the site here. Looking forward to what's coming next.

Hi, art128. Jeronij's work was always impressive. I'm running Time machine updates over at Simtropolis and in 2005 Jeronij's Sculpting Columbia River CJ has been number one multiple times, including a 10 week run at number one. Seems like every MD/CJ he worked on was a huge success, and a big reason why MDs can look the way they do today.

Hi, threestooges. An interesting ride indeed. I'm having a lot of fun going back and looking at all the old MDs - sometimes it is hard to leave, bit like a time warp.

Yes, I correctly predicted this week's #1 ;D

I remember TT very well; it was one of the greats in its time, and still is worth checking out.

Thanks Ben!

Cheers

It's really nice to re-recognize these incredible MDs. Thanks Ben for the hard work.
I suggest to anyone that doesn't remember or never been to these awesome MDs to go have a look and during this month I encourage anyone to post in them if they want. (I will not move them out of the archive unless the creator posts a new update.)

Hi, Swordmaster. I was a bit of a latecomer to SC4D, so running the numbers for earlier years has been a treat for me. The landscaping in TT is pretty amazing, so I was very excited to explore it.

Hi, rooker1. Great! I may make some comments in them myself.
