Yeah, who knew they were all over the place? Work of aliens, or central pivot irrigation systems? You certainly do get around. Fly safely, and I hope all is well with the family.

David,

I have spent the last few days going through both the ST and the SC4D shall we say...saga...of the 3RR. I dont know what I can say that hasnt already been said! I will contribute my compliments for a truly amazing work of art.

Your tutorials are top notch and I have learned much from reading your CJ and MD. They have infact given me the confidence to actually plan and start my own MD. I guess the biggest compliment I can give is that you sir have inspired me.

Keep up the great work

Yoman

Marx brothers as in Zeppo, Harpo, Chico, Gummo, and my favorite, Groucho, how can you not know who they are!

And crop circles, interesting.....

thundercrack83

Oooh, crop circles. Creepy! Hope all is well, my friend! I look forward to seeing what you have next up your sleeve!

NikNik

Hi david, pardon me for beeing rude but your message on crop circles is absolutely wrong. You can easily recognize the year rings in the various circles. These circles are chopped Big trees .   ;)

I hope the trip was fun?

Take care.

Well, I'm back in Alaska and headed for work.  It's been really, really hard to eke out time for 3RR in the last little bit- I have a state Supreme Court brief due next Tuesday and trials Wednesday through Friday.  I have spent most of my "3RR time" in the Map Lab completing the final detailed (4,096x4,096 px) terrain/features map.

Times like this come and go- thanks to all for hanging in there.  I don't want collaboration to start with anything less than 100% effort beforehand on my part, and this is a rather biggish undertaking.

I really appreciate the great comments.

Later.

Nice progress on that map! Looking forward to more of your great work!

thundercrack83

Glad to see you're back, my friend! That map you're working on looks fantastic, and I'll be looking forward to seeing more on the collaboration front, too, but no hurry! Hope all goes well with your trials!

dragonshardz

hey david, did you ever post part 3 of the making seasonal trees tutorial? because i went through the whole thing here at SC4D and i didn't see it.

Jmouse

Just checking in again to let everyone I'm still alive and kicking. Not much to add that hasn't already been said by the experts, though, except that this project has surpassed greatness by several steps and is still going strong.

Until next time...

No, I don't think he ever got around to Part III. But don't worry, David's probably got it on the back-burner somewhere!

dragonshardz

Pat

David you know that we are behind you 10000% and we all understand your time vary's time to time...  BTW that map is looking real great map man....

I was lookin' for a few old posts, and thought I'd capture these as I went along.  I'll pretty it up at some point, but it's interesting to watch the comment growth in the linkies- from 4,803 to 60,742.  SC4D has become quite the busy place, and I'm so grateful to everyone who makes 3RR part of their experience here, as there's so much else to see and do.

Here's some info a number of you are waiting for.  I know the following will come back to haunt me...

September 18th is my birthday- a great day to finally get Collaboration going.  We'll do big things (shhh... secret plans) for the one-year anniversary as well.

I'm looking for volunteer writers who might want to help with writing backstory and Gazetteer entries, if anyone is interested.  That might help speed things along.

Well, that is a stroll down memory lane, there, my friend! From the looks of it, you're averaging at least 100 comments per month! And the projected time-table for the collaboration and other things is outstanding, too! I'll be looking forward to seeing it come to fruition! Also, I'll volunteer for helping with the backstory and gazetteer if you need it!
