The capacity for RCI buildings is based on the volume of the building.

The Volume is calculated from the properties Occupant Size (Width, Height and Depth) and the Filling Degree:
Volume = Width × Depth × Height × Filling Degree

The Floorage of a building is caculated from the Volume by dividing with the floor height, 3 m:
      Floorage = Volume / 3

The Capacity is calculated by dividing the total floorage by the Floorage Requirement for each inhabitant/worker:
Capacity = Constant + Floorage / Floorage Requirement

The Constant is 2 for industrial buildings and 3 for residental and commercial buildings.

The Floorage Requirements (per person) are listed in the table below:

RCI Type RCI Subtype Floorage Requirement
RCI Type RCI Subtype Floorage Requirement
  12.42 m² (134 sq.ft)
R§§ 22.50 m² (242 sq.ft)
R§§§ 51.50 m² (554 sq.ft)
CS§ 10.00 m² (108 sq.ft)
CS§§ 40.00 m² (430 sq.ft)
CS§§§ 100.0 m² (1076 sq.ft)
CO§§ 22.50 m² (242 sq.ft)
CO§§§ 32.17 m² (346 sq.ft)
I-R Out 250.0 m² (2691 sq.ft)
I-D Anchor 60.00 m² (646 sq.ft)
I-D Mechanical 40.00 m² (430 sq.ft)
I-D Out 20.00 m² (215 sq.ft)
I-M Anchor 30.00 m² (323 sq.ft)
I-M Mechanical 60.00 m² (646 sq.ft)
I-M Out 30.00 m² (323 sq.ft)
I-HT Anchor 25.00 m² (269 sq.ft)

Hi
Just a small correction (?)
I believe the floor height that X-PIM is using is actually 3 m.
I was looking through .xml with definitions (dated 2009-11-05) and found out that usually the formula for R&C is:
Capacity =  round( 3 + BiasedVol/(3*floorage_req))
where BiasedVol is Volume*min(1,0.51+(Volume/26000.0)**2)
It seems that Volume used for Capacity calculations is corrected downwards if it's lower than 18200 m3 (don't know why :))

Quite correct!
The post above was partly based on information we had before introducing the filling degree (which is 0.50 by default).

I've corrected the post now. Thanks! :)

To ensure that small buildings get small enough capacities to become growth stage 1... :)

I use PIM to do a Landmark building functional and then using SC4 Tool correcting her capacities. Is it possible to make a CO building
- 80 000
- 100 000
- 1 million
jobs. I tried several times but did not receive - why?
