Welcome to the Constitutional Monarchy of Mackinac
Its always nice to see good CJ/MDs make their way over to SC4D, and this definitely looks like a keeper. I like the fade out in the shots.
Nice work hawky, but you say this tower is taller then CN, isnt it the CN tower ()what()
nice effects on the pics too
Great two pictures there! Looking forward to more...

lol nuff cruise ports?
good work hawkface. I give you pink elephants, the highest honor i can give to an MD (THAT Sounds SOOOO Nerdy) &dance &dance &dance &dance
That's a great teaser! Wonderful work!

Seahawk this is looking real great and i cant wait to see more of it - pat
Great job. I like your airport. Please don't refer us to simtropolis. Paste some nicest shots here.
Good Luck!
Fantastic new picture! And also looking forward to more...

Nice update it looks awsome
Yes, a great update! Wonderful work!
(edited out)
Wonderful, but one suggestion -
The blocks outside the small city centers would be better without the mansions right next to dead blocks. Try encouraging some some low-wealth housing, or put low-wealth on the northside, and high and middle wealth along the shore. Try it out!
Damn well photoshopped.
Looking nice. That brown tower is so ugly though.
Sunken highway in progress. Sounds very very nice. The only good highway is a sunken one...
Fantastic update! Great pictures with the using of photo shop!
On the tower update, the smoke seems to go out then change directions to the wind :P Ive never seen that happen in real life before :P
I like those recently edited rainny shots though, very interesting.
(edited out)
I want to know what happens with the tower and the attack! Oh, the suspense!
I like what I see so far one question are you using the Michigander Pronouciation of Mackinac( as in Mackinaw) and a briliant use of Photoshop on those rainy shots
(edited out)
The region overview is looking wonderful, sEAhAwk fAn121! Also great new pictures!
Very nice city center core. I like how the buildings gradually grow higher in the center. Great region view, I see that you have three cities on the go. Very good start to the port, will be interesting to see the rest.
Robin
nice city and port

great job. i really like it!

That is one beautifull bridge!
*Opens BAT to give himself a green color of envy*
These are two very good pictues of a Bridges. Great work and very well done.
Robin
Nice work, I really like the looks of that bridge network. Would be interested to see a close-up of either end of the bridge with the retaining walls etc.
Cheers
Dave
Wonderful looking bridge there, also great photo editing!
Nice MD Seahawk !

Wonderful picture of that airport! And great using of the roads!

Great two new shots there!
looking good there I like that Airport I'm guessing it will continue around the loop
The airport looks awesome so far. I tlooks like it's going to be huge. I like the idea of the roads and how ou set them up.

Robin
Some interesting pictures you show here. I like especially the "Barrow Ashland Bridge", that one looks great.
One question about that one: Did I miss an Update of jeronij's Breakwater-Set? 'Cause mine contains no Underbridge-pieces, something I'm deeply missing.
(edited out)
so huge :o
Great progress on that airport! Looking forward to more...
(edited out)
The completed airport is looking wonderful! Fantastic work on that airport!

congrats for your acception, i think about joing the SCJU as well
Nice airport
Congrats on getting into SCJU, thats a very prestigious honour! And that airport is just wow, seriously, one of the best Ive seen.
That airport looks fantastic. Very well thought out and executed. I love the inner loop of the road. Looks perfert. I can't wait to see what the city around it will look like.

Quite an impressive setup, I like the way the main road dives under the terminal to get into the center. I would take a look at your areas next to diagonal terminals though. I believe that there are lots in the latest RIMP that could make them look nicer.
Congrats for being a SCJU Member and another great update of your airport!
(edited out)
I love airports and airplanes, and I am a big civil airlines fan, so Ive adored the past few updates. Who knows, maybe when an airport is constructed in Qumma, Mackinac could start flying there as well!
Fantastic new update there! Great work!
(edited out)
Interesting update Seahawk, the Mackinac Airways network is well drawn.
The airport expansion is impressive. I think you should now also dress up the area around the airport a bit more (long term parkings, transport companies, gasstations, hotels, motels etc).
Wonderful picture of that aiport, also nice two pictures of that city!
Due to the lack of intrest in this MD i am afraid to announce that i will only be posting Teaser updates here. It is not worth it to post an entire update here and oly get 2 comments... Mabye when intrest returns i will start it up at full power. But for now its near shut down...
Hey, sEAhAwk fAn121, hi.
I just saw your post noting that you're disappointed by the relatively small number of comments in your MD. I'll use this post as an opportunity to restate advice I've given elsewhere. Do a MD, especially in the first few months after starting it, to satisfy yourself. Be your own harshest critic. If you are pleased with what you are doing, chances are other folks will be as well- sooner or later.
I've liked what I've seen here, generally. Your airport is very impressive, and I think it has garnered some pretty decent feedback. I've lurked, I'll admit, because I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like a comment would add something, and I try to avoid the "David was here" variety of post. That doesn't mean I'm not coming by, or won't comment after your next update. I think most folks are a lot like me. Think of your own reaction to 3RR- I recall you've commented there once or twice over the past year and a half.
The one thing that doesn't sit well with me (and probably most folks) is for you to cop an attitude in your MD about the whole thing. Sort of, "well, you folks aren't commenting, so here's how I'm going to take that out on you." Fine, "tease" us with what you are doing somewhere else. You may garner some traffic there, you may not. Personally, though, I think if you would focus your effort on trying to make your MD everything it could possibly be, you would see the readership you are looking for. I don't know when, but after all this is not a pursuit for the less-than-serious about what they are doing.
My 2c, my friend.
Once again, good luck!
David
Hi friend Seahawk,
I agree with David from "The Mother of all MD's" here... You should be doing this MD particularly for your own pleasure. As long as you enjoy making this fascinating St Helena's airport, and putting it on the map as the Mackninac Airways hub, your time will be well spent, isn't it? I for one am following your progress with great interest.
And, if you continue (I sure hope you will !!!) on this great airport (I know that you love working on that) and on building up a great Mackinac Airways story (probably what you love to do the most ;), I am sure that one day it will get the interest of others as well, even if they are not airport geeks like ourselves.. ::)
So - I hope you will still continue on this airport and show your results here - be sure you have a friend in Amsterdam watching the development eagerly.
Sebes.
David and Sebes are right, do the MD for your pleasure, build for your pleasure, don't try to work on an area just large enough to fit in a picture for an update, work on the area as much as you want. I had 3 quick updates in my MD from 2 months of building, and there probably won't be another for awhile now because Ive taken a break from Sc4 for a moment. When I get back to it I'll build for my pleasure, as I enjoy creating socialist cities. And if I happen to have enough in an area for an update, I'd like to share that with the folks here at Sc4D, if I don't well they can wait. care more about building the cities for pleasure and less about making the MD.
Hello,
Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the results of your MD here, my friend. All I can really stress is that you heed the advice that David and our good friend sebes have given you.
However, you do seem to have a slight issue with "instant gratification," and revenge against the people you're trying to coax over to your work is not the greatest strategy. You only opened this MD in August and you're in the "Ones to Watch," so it's not like you're getting no feedback whatsoever.
Whether here at SC4D or elsewhere, just work to please yourself and don't be discouraged so easily. Making an MD is as much about patience as it is about talent.
Good luck!
Dustin
Well put everyone. I also have to agree. You need to give it time for your MD to develop. If noone comments then its ok. If you have a whole lot of views it means people are looking at your updates. Its better to have more views than comments than no views at all. You need to be patient and not get upset if noone comments on your MD. You know better than that.
The other posters above me makes valid points. You cannot just expect the whole of SC4D to post their comments when you make a update. In my experence it takes a GREAT update to get well above 10 comments rather than "Heres my airport *Post pic*" and expect 30 comment for that. usually it takes more than just a airport screen to get that kind of response, like for example, a tour of the city, surroundings, and maybe a bit of storylining. Just look at MD'er of the Month section and you'll understand why they're up there, the quality of their work really pays off. I'm pretty sure they spend more time making their update than making the city itself.
In my personal opinion its pretty selfish of you to say "Ok guys, since you're not commenting I'll only show you little of my CJ and I'll go over there to "X" site and show them more because they comment more." You do realize we do have RL and are not "jumping head and foot" to post comments all of the time?
Anyways regardless, good luck on this CJ or your next 1 millionth CJ you would create.
Seahawk i do know everyone has allready spoken some great words of wisdom here.. I've counted that i've posted at least 3 times in the past few weeks since you've been running here... I've liked what ive seen here and all i got to add is that you would be short changing yourself by not giving regular full updates here... Thats not a good attitude to have at and im a little sadden by it...
So with that all said and the others comments please make a wise choice before taking anther step, relax breath and just know that we a family community here and we are all family if you have an issue you can talk it out and not threaten.... Take it easy my friend and fellow team mate - pat
I'm sorry if your upset by not getting as many replies as you'd like, but I have to say that it happens.
There have been times (yes, i actually went back and checked all my CJs) the I've recieved 1 or 2 comments, if any. I have to pride my self on not getting upset over it, and personally I tended to use the lack of comments as fuel to make an even better update after the one that didn't get any attention.
Also, I think its rather disappointing that you feel that you have to only post teasers now that you didn't get as many comments as you expected. Kumba put it rather well when he said that we do have real life to deal with and can't always make a comment.
Although you may think that it will drive you comments and views back up, only posting teasers generally will alienate those who do make comments and most people won't bother looking at it if they know all it will be is just a teaser, which I guess in essence would be exactly the opposite of what you're trying to do...
Well, thats my ramblings...
Jacob
I don't have much to add except, as you already know, I love your airport concept and I was looking forward to seeing it develope. If you stop posting here it will be a shame for me and I'm sure many others. I hope you reconsider.
Robin ;)
Seems ths kinda exploded ::) :D you all make valid points... and i am suprised at some of the people that posted here... &sly kinda overwhelming haha :D ummm... i really dont know what to say.. i need a couple of hours to take this in, :-[ and read through all of these comments. :P Thanks guys who posted.. I kinda got my inspiration from the kindness shown here by alot of you... &cry2

Hey Clint real great update here!!! I love the poster at the end and also the B&W pic....
I like that district verywell laid out and done especially the use of PED mall tiles I can't wait to see more of those night shots those are done very nicely
Super update, I too like the use of the ped tiles. Great night pics as well.

Robin
want a suggestion? Everything is amazing, but if you relotted a fountain or one of PK's trees onto a matching lot where the small open paved space is between the sandstone, that would look fabulous! I also appreciate the naming of the district - it gives it a unique feel
Nice update, I like the combination of night and day views.
but seriously, those bands :'( :angrymore: ()sad()
Fantastic update, sEAhAwk fAn121! The area near the Toyota Center is looking very good!
(edited out)
Looks great , I'll stay tuned.... ;)
Never knew youu did photoshop
Fantastic work thus far, loved the night shots.
Looking forward to Victoria.... :D
As discussed, most people including myself don't like teasers. So in the future I'd just post the update when its ready.
Looking forward to it though.
(edited out)
what a great update
I really love the layout and time you took to make this city what it is. The Embassies and Parliment Building are absolutly stunning in their placement
A fantastic update of Victoria! Great looking city!
Looking forward to more...
Great update on Victoria there Seahawk!!!
Now that is what I call an update! I really like the open space in your city, it's hard work making it look as good as you did.
One small point of critique..on the last picture, the rivershore of the ploppable water doesn't look very good imho. If I may drop a suggestion: jeronij has uploaded some ploppable grass in his flora pack, together with his ploppable (small) rocks you can make a very realistic rivershore next to the ploppable water.
Fantastic Update! I loooove your idea for a memorial, and am envious of the parisian blocks, keep it up plz!
Victoria is indeed showing a very classy city, I can immagine that it's one of the most popular cities to live in.
One thing caught my attention though: the WWII memorial is modelled after one of the national symbols of the defeated enemy.. What is the story behind that?
As I said on SCJU where is my............................
no of course still joking.
It is indeed a lovely city, very beautiful and fantastic use of custom content, make it more personal and as such better.
Looking forward to seeing more for this intriguing nation Clint..... :satisfied:
Great update. I particularly like the feel of power you get when you look at these beautiful built custom buildings that just ooze politics and power. Great work!
Superb update... so... does Pheonoia have it own floor... or section of the building...?
Doesn't amtter.. good update.
Nice update with quite a spectacular line of different bats. Some of the squares do have a little many lampposts, and the Aviations Museum seems a bit small compared to the air planes that are outside.
A quite beautiful park that you have made around your Royal Palace, and I think the picture of the Capitol Clock Tower is looking very good.
(edited out)
Seahawk mmmm teaser indeed either this or next you stinker lol.... Mt Mackinac looks to be very promissing
Quite average and normal "monumental building". Most annoying / worst thing is that you have dead avenues. Can't see people anywhere.
Hey everyone, I have run into a bit of a snag... I cant seem to get the snowcapped mod to work. I am using the right terrain mod and followed all of the instructions. Anyone know the problem. Also i have PMed jeronij and he told me to reinstall the terrain mod and that did not work.
(edited out)
That's a fantastic mosaic of that bridge!
Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to you, too!
Totally agree with bat! Bring the MD back!
(edited out)
QuoteHope you like!
I sure do!!
The bridge is great, both at the Christmas Greetins pictures and in the rainy city pictures  Your down-town area is excellent, really good. That makes we wonder how you have updated the airport area from a few pages back. Any chances for an update on that ?
So...you gonna show the Sears tower here? :P
Really nice looking area there of the first mosaic! Great new update!!
Do I see a simcity version of Tacoma here? If so, a good represention of Galloping Gerdy, though it now has two bridges.
Looking good.
Good, above average city building. One thing is missing: life.
is splendid &apls the first mosaic is very realistic
(edited out)
Interesting. You'd think with all that ultra-modern architecture, they wouldn't have gone with a big black box from the freakish '70s. Just messing with you. Your cities do need a little more life, unless they're post apocalyptic.
Very nice mosaïque- and you have some very nice buildings there!
Wonderful mosaic of that building(s)!
Looks really good!
remember how I said I was gonna learn how to do my airports properly? I didn't lie. I've got some pics for reference on my IPOD now. thanks ;D
havn't read this in a while, but everything looks nice!
MacKinac must have awesome TV shows, because there is life only indoors. Great photoshopping, but I would like to see how you have played the game - residental areas and overviews instead of plopped eyecandy pictures which are dead.
Gotta agree with kiro, good city building, but KV must have attacked from I am Legend because that city is dead. All you need is weeds, and Will Smith.
Thats a great mosaic...what area of the city does that represent? My guess is the downtown area...in other words, region shot!
great work clint, lovely mosaics... i have looked at one of yours in a long time its great to see how far you have come....
btw are you trying to make a statement by putting the tient embassy right next to the moulin rouge....

Tsk tsk... Plop doesn't equal dead. It equals easy and equals control - in my city I have no commercial or industrial zoning. All plopped for maximum control.
Great mosaics. I like the Sears Tower. I always thought it looked good in other's cities but not mine... Though I don't build near that tall.
(edited out)
flame-so. you still need people. and cars.
seahawk-nice "update" (cough teaser :D cough). Interesting how people actually use your trains, they never use mine. :'(
That's a very nice picture of that rail!! Great area!
Nice use of that bridge. I wish I could find a good spot for it in my cities. Great nature though. But, if it's in the Pacific Northwest, shouldn't there be redwoods? :P
Crystal Falls look very unique, I am now a regular visitor to this MD.
Topcliff-at least where I live there aren't very many redwoods, lots of Ceders, but not redwoods are in California.
(edited out)
Looks cool. Think they have a large enough smokestack there? :P Good to know all their power is from plants that have been dead for millions of years. Later dude.
The smoke is looking very nice there!! And great pictures of the power station!
good job. Ill admit the photoshopping is a lil tacky (we can see the blur outlines, but that again, i am king of tacky photoshopping so i cant really talk ;D) but it looks pretty convincing, and the plant is freaking awesome.
Dear god, if you don't change that rail base texture mod right now I'll have to strangle you.
Nice PSing though and an interesting place to put the power plant, but why in the middle of the bay? Unless the portion on the left is a water reserve.
(edited out)
you love airports way too much ;D
looking forward to it!
splendid mosaic &apls
Bring on the new airport! Cant wait!

I love that picture of Cathedral Hill and the rowhouses - splendid
Great to see a new update here!
And the city logo looks very nice and modern!
The night shots and others are also fantastic!
&apls looking real good here seahawk!!!
Wow! Love the power station, LOVE the rowhouses...sort of reminds me of San Francisco! The cathedral goes very well, too....Cant wait for the airport!
The Saint Helena Cathedral with all the buildins around it is a very impressive picture. How long did it take you to get all the buildings the same. At any rate, great work.
Robin

wondeful update here Seahawk!!!
Yes, great update there! Some nice night shots!
Looks good, just add that traffic we see in the last picture to all of em.
Again, the pictures you have taken are simply magnificent, although my personal favorite has to be the one with the cathedral. The neighborhood around it, I am totally in love with!
Superb pics. I love night shots of cities, RL and in game. I have this hypnotic amazment of city night lights.
Robin
Very nice pictures Seahawk - I love the lights, the colors and the towers!
