Hello dear SC4Devotion members !!!
I am glad to start the first official Mayor's Diary in Sim City 4 Devotion  !!!
It is time to start a fresh new journal. I hope I still keep my skills after so much time without playing ;) .
I have decided to use an existing map for this Diary. The Grand Canyon. I have started playing this region at least three times. I hope this is the BIG one :P !!! The region is quite challenging and balanced. There are big plains in the corner areas, and really rough terrain in the middle squares. I have to say I am specially hooked with this region, so I´ll keep playin it for some time.
I dont remember were I downloaded the map from. It was a long long time ago, 2004, but I dont think it is available at Simtropolis &mmm.
OK, enough words for now, lets start with a regional view. The pics are 1024 pixels width. I apologize for the inconveniences, (specially the 1024 or less users), but they can not be smaller. I hope you understand it ;D .
GC_01_02 Region View.

And since the city is already developed, and I did not made pics during the development ( I started it simply for fun) , the MD will start with some general views over the city.

And this is the first Grand Canyon update. I hope you like the pics. Not much text this time, but I am short of time :-[ !!!
Next update in progress.... ;D
Great map. I think it's still at the STEX. About the update, I can tell you you still haven't lost any of your skills ;) I saw some of those pics before, I think when you have showed some of your waterfall lots and mods at Simtropolis.
HaHA! ;D I was waiting for this! You realize that this is the very first jeronij Diary that I get to follow from the very beginning? And already I'm amazed...that farm town is very random, but it looks so well put together. I'd imagine that's how a farm would look if there could be farms that green in northern Arizona...(there may be, but I've never seen them). I just can't wait to see how you tackle the canyon itself! An awesome preview of stuff to come from jeronij himself! YES!
Wow. This is the way to start.
i'll be following this closely
:satisfied:
Looking forward to more Jeronij! It is already off to a great start!
Looks really good. You have a real taste for the aesthetics of a city.
wow my friend this is an awesome map,you allways do such a great job
Auch Jeronij, you tease us with these pics as everybody who visits ST knows that the bridge area and the waterfall are your true gems of this particular area.
It is nice though to see some more of that reagion and of the countryside around the bridges.
Great work I will be looking forward to more pics.
Nik-Nik
Wonderful work! Great region and great development!
Wonderfull map and perfect terrain mod, and as always wonderfull buildings. How can it be something else ?
nice :D cant wait for the closeups
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors,
Thanks for the nice feedback all
This time I will present you the city in a different way as I use to do. Since the city is already developed in part, I have divided this part in several sectors, which I will show will calm and lots of pictures ;D . The names of the sectors are not relevant, but I have named the city "Biniaraix", and I think I already used this name in another CJ... :-[ ...anyway, I`ll keep this name for this city ;)
With no further delay, I present you the initial five sectors.
Biniaraix - Sector A This is a peaceful farmland area, and the main attraction here is the railroad crossing, which looks a bit out of place here, and will probable be changed to a standard crossing.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg168.imageshack.us%2Fimg168%2F1676%2Fgcbnx0101lr9.jpg&hash=913748576411c77f00f2a6cb67808eec8d20f25e)
Biniaraix - Sector B This is a more busy sector, some railyards, some heavy industry, more life...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg182.imageshack.us%2Fimg182%2F4207%2Fgcbnx0102pr0.jpg&hash=68a2dd06462dcd95d77fbc99fd6a9dcea3b81e70)
Biniaraix - Sector C This is the sector neat the waterfall. Again a peaceful farming area...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F5699%2Fgcbnx0103ea7.jpg&hash=588a3287ef52d78e87009fef4522e99ab194ece8)
Biniaraix - Sector D This is the main residential area. I have decided to bulldoze it, and develope it again, using this great tutorial by AlekKing : Using Custom Residential Content (http://sc4devotion.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=50.0)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F3869%2Fgcbnx0104yq0.jpg&hash=d8fbe35013ded30585068109882c0c1b48d14fbb)
Biniaraix - Sector E The central sector in the area. Some small bussines and homing areas. Still can be called "quiet place".
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F4953%2Fgcbnx0105om4.jpg&hash=a2bf9ba777f0249e94d074005ad94b5d0220a495)
The most relevant part of this city is actually the waterfall (to the right of these pictures), but as it can been intesively seen in my CJ Simtropia (ST), I wont show it much here. Next update will start including some close ups over sector A.
I hope you like the presentation ;D
Very hard not to like this. It's beautiful in every aspect. Damn good job!
Very great and new work!!!
wow thats beautifull farming excellent work
Superb ;D
&apls &apls
Thats the only word I can think of!
:satisfied:
Nice work amigo, ahora venga los close-ups
:shocked2: Amazingly awesome work Jeronij!!!! This looks awesome mate ;)
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors
Again THANKS for your always pleasant feedback ;D . It is time to show some close ups over Sector A. I hope you like them, even I am sure you wont agree very much with the undergroudn crossing &mmm , but I am not sure about changing it....
OK, lets go with the pics ;)
We will see now Sector A from different perspectives and different year seasons.

I hope you liked Sector A. Sector B is on the way ;)
Very nice :) Did you do any custom farmlots?
The only critiscism i have considering the update is the street under rail underpass as it seems a litle overkill for a rural area, just imo. Otherwise very good. I know working with slopes and farms sometimes can be very frustraiting, like when the farmhouse destroys the slope.
Lovely, just lovely
Th only "fault" i would say is the crossing. A road bridge would look better or even a level crossing but i think the underpass looks out of place imo.
Otherwise the rest is perfect ;D
:satisfied:
I've mentioned this in your slope city, but it seems that no matter what terrain you build on, you always find a way to make the best possible city out of the terrain. Phenomenal!!
Looks great Jeronij! I think the underpass looks great  Coz those freight trains that would go through that area would be quite large and less traffic hold-ups with the underpass ;). I'm looking forward to Sector B
Excellent update! Sector A looks brilliant! Nice underpass! Also looking forward to sector B and the rest!
Truely amazing again Jeroni. I am a big fan of your slopes (living in boaring flat lands) and I love the way how you lay out your roads through the area.
Hello to all, and again thanks for the replies and feedback
It is time to go for Sector B. Since I am quite busy today, and it is quite late, I wont extend myself too much with explanations ;D
Here comes the first set with 9 pictures. From zoom 3 to zoom 4. I hope you like them !!!
First lets have a closer look to the sector from all four views. Zoom 3

And now it is time to go for some details on the most relevant places.... Zoom 4
Biniaraix - U04 - 05 Of course, the most relevant place is the factory and surrounding area.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg142.imageshack.us%2Fimg142%2F3277%2Fgc04bnrxsb05mt3.jpg&hash=bdd7bda71217ad8dc9dd363d3bafc141589f6c77)
Biniaraix - U04 - 06 There is a small residential strip, where some of the factory workes live.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg142.imageshack.us%2Fimg142%2F9180%2Fgc04bnrxsb06nn6.jpg&hash=4699d620c8c05752be5541606edacf2d6566a3b8)
Biniaraix - U04 - 07 Also a small industrial facility, and surrounding homes.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg142.imageshack.us%2Fimg142%2F1058%2Fgc04bnrxsb07jn9.jpg&hash=cb1269c2ae9f6258edf268261cf80028adff2851)
Biniaraix - U04 - 08 A cargo train depot can be also found in the sector.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg139.imageshack.us%2Fimg139%2F8836%2Fgc04bnrxsb08jx9.jpg&hash=51f342dca17db522639a1d77c6e00a0c391e3eef)
Biniaraix - U04 - 09 Even so, there are still some quiet places in the area.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg120.imageshack.us%2Fimg120%2F8095%2Fgc04bnrxsb09bd3.jpg&hash=268680f81a0909896eb985100a8fee13d2a41414)
In the next update, we will see some real close ups ( zoom 5) to this are, before we go for sector C....
Again thanks for the compliments  and complaints  ...I´ll try to do it better ;)
Great work Jeroni. The farms are looking great! The timber yard near the homes looks awesome and same with the cargo train depot  Keep it up mate
awesome rural i love the farms i am allways loving farms
Very nice so far Jeronij
Nice! I like the sawmill best. I have found out that industrial/rural is a really good combo, and apperantly so have you :)
Sector B looks so beautiful as Sector A!
Great work!
Looking forward to Sector C :computer:
Lovely pictures, jeronij! It looks so good with those farms on the gentle slopes.
Great update again Jeroni. I love the residential strip between the farmlands on slopes. It looks so realistic that way.
hello hello... I think that's my first post at all here...
I must say... I'm impressed.
Really really impressed.
Jeroni
How did i miss these new pics? They are amazing. I love the way you have captured the country feel to it all
:satisfied:
Beautiful farming areas and I really like the plop water ponds/streams. This looks like it will be a pretty challenging map, I can't wait to see what else you will do with it.
I'm glad to see that you are starting a new cj Jeronij, keep up the good work. Well i'd rather Simtropia for now, especially for the textures that you used on that cj, was really accurate and realistic.
Can't wait to see more.
bye.
great job...I love all of the colors of the farm fields mixed together, this map is awsome. I really like that you keep much of the integrity of the map when you develop your cities

Well done again Jeroni. It's all so natural and with so realistic layout. &dance
awesome work you sure put everything in a place where it all fits together perfectly
Hi my friend another awesome update, good job
Keep it great ;)
I very much like the close-ups Jeroni! Just one quick question, where did you get that train depot in pic Biniaraix - U04b - 03. I had it but lost it after cleaning my plugins folder &Thk/(
Sector B pics from the Master...just another day at SC4D.
Your vision as to what this game can be is inspiring, jeroni!
I think the terracing thoughout the farm lands is very nice. If you need a little push, I think I would make the RR crossing regular instead of underground. But what do I know? Looking foward to more.
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors ;D
It is time for some fres pics. I have decided to overpass Sector C and go directly to Sector D, where some main changes are being done.
For those who do not remember how Sector D was initially looking like, and dont want to go to page 1 to see it, here is a view on the original situation.
QuoteBiniaraix - Sector D This is the main residential area. I have decided to bulldoze it, and develope it again, using this great tutorial by AlekKing : Using Custom Residential Content (http://sc4devotion.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=50.0)

And this is how the bulldozing started....
Biniaraix - Sector D 1
The first area being bulldozed and re-planned is the one on the left.... No remorse at all after bulldozing it $%Grinno$% !!!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg96.imageshack.us%2Fimg96%2F904%2Fgc05bnrx01hy7.jpg&hash=acb1960d3fc7ced107e2bb93a7effcc4916fdb21)
Biniaraix - Sector D 2
The new planning includes a place for one of those nice BIG Mickebear's Mediterranean lots ;D , as well as place for some smaller custom lots I created for this city....
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg100.imageshack.us%2Fimg100%2F3964%2Fgc05bnrx02lz9.jpg&hash=d9302c9609c3f95436683d9706155d41d2be99a9)
Biniaraix - Sector D 3
Inmediately after this, the right residential area was also bulldozed. Church included. Again a new residential layout....
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg95.imageshack.us%2Fimg95%2F180%2Fgc05bnrx03mh1.jpg&hash=718ff395ec4c2b52ebf7194a283512c4597e51a9)
Biniaraix - Sector D 4
The next one was the industrial area near the railroad....

Biniaraix - Sector D 5
This is a close up on the village's center. Finally I changed the space for the mega lot with a nice and multifunctional Town House. More like the reality where I live.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg100.imageshack.us%2Fimg100%2F922%2Fgc05bnrx05eq9.jpg&hash=c8f3c997739dbc5e2864fcd9b96cc72ebee063ed)
Biniaraix - Sector D 6
This is the final layot I planned for this area.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg100.imageshack.us%2Fimg100%2F6836%2Fgc05bnrx06hc5.jpg&hash=7d2b6ad80a5500ab182eb998917808f77f5c29f1)
Biniaraix - Sector D 7
Educational facilities are not forgotten. A Primary School was build right on the hill...

Biniaraix - Sector D 8
Finally, an overall look to the new situation...

I hope you like the work in progress. I want to see if my experimenting with AlexKing techniques, and with Mickebear's Istrinian Houses will give to this area a very nice look. The next updates will be more pics about planning and zoning. Once everything is at place, I will be able to show you some pics "After the click" ;)
Looking forward for the final result of that mega change ;) Great work mate!
Great pictures, nice tunnel! Looking forward to the next pictures!
Great: the entire village got bulldozed except the McDonalds! :P We sure get to know your priorities!

He's right not demolishing it, how would all those workers feed themselves without it? $%Grinno$% No food, no work, no demolishing, no update :P
Hi to all , well, the McDonalds was not bulldozed.....initially ;D However I had to move it to a more convenient location, not too far from the original one.... You will see it soon
Great update Jeronij,
I like the way you just got the contractors in to demolish the lot.
I just wish I could make people homeless the way you do,
especially the "without remorse $%Grinno$%" bit &apls
Looking forward to "After the Click"!
:satisfied:
Great stuff Jeronij that MD was awesome and so is this site guys &apls
This is my first post here, I think, but I've been looking around for a while. Anyway, good update! I love the tunnel that comes up right in front of the church. It's looks great! I'll be back for more!
excellent work you have done
happy new year
Happy 2007 Jeroni. Looking forward to the restored village (and new location of the ball pit!)
GREAT WORK!!!
Hey, Jeroni, I'm finally here, my friend. This is a beautiful page. And this MD or CJ is amazing. It reminds me our contry, man.
Is possible that some areas of Cataluña or Aragón, no?
This is a great journal.
Me gusta todo en esta página, y este diario es muy bonito.
Espero ver mucho más.
Cristian
EDIT: WELCOME TO PAGE 4 &apls
Great work! Can't wait to see it with the residential zones developed!
wow nice fixes, those homes are gonna look great nestled in that valley, can't wait to see what is gonna grow &dance
This area is gonna have such a nice European Alpine feel, like i am in the italian alps or the pyrenees, very nice job, plus with all the new mayor mode tree brushes, you will really be albe to get some beautiful flora going on the mountainsides, THANKS BSC.
Hello again dear Grand Canyon visitors !!!
I am glad you liked the changes in the small town ;D . We will have to wait a bit to see the houses growing, since some detailing and zoning is needed before this happens. The higher the population grows, the more difficult is to develope farming areas, so we'll have to wait a little bit ;)
Biniaraix Sector D2 - 01 Now, as mentioned above, it is time to start adding some details to the area.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F5329%2Fgc06bnx01bo5.jpg&hash=49056c0b4ff5c0753e41fa3907cd62a80012f6d2)
Biniaraix Sector D2 - 02 I could not wait to start using my last walls, and I started to buid my first cemetary ever !!! ( a pic on the complete cemetary can be seen in the Show us your... cemetary forum). This was the intial layout.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F2454%2Fgc06bnx02st1.jpg&hash=69e06ddb6d2d04fe28d768f154991c7d8de99338)
Biniaraix Sector D2 - 03 The situation is quite peaceful and retired...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F9192%2Fgc06bnx03pm5.jpg&hash=f47dbf7a025e903b054703f7e7cbd89e427db49b)
Biniaraix Sector D2 - 04 And the cemetary has a great view over the valley...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg139.imageshack.us%2Fimg139%2F5892%2Fgc06bnx04sv6.jpg&hash=2230393a54ae81d11741450418fcec50b0a7803e)
Biniaraix Sector D2 - 05 A final look before we continue the construction....
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg201.imageshack.us%2Fimg201%2F9043%2Fgc06bnx05cn4.jpg&hash=dbe7f92cdef14ec574681ad71aaaddb844ac6693)
I hope you like the pictures. More to come soon ;D
A BIG THANKS to all for the pleasant and nice feedback
This is a really nice update!
The screenshot D2 - 04 caught my eye. The way the cemetary overlooks the valley is very pretty.
That shot also gives a real sense of how the village spills down the valley.
Is that the Italia terrain mod? The ground textures are really nice.
Thanks for the update.
Phil
The walls are perfect, jeroni, and Grand Canyon is the perfect place to showcase them.
If they ever do a CG version of The Hobbit, they would miss a sure thing by not hiring you to do the landscapes. Your sense of the beauty that can be found in ordinary places is unmatched.
Very nice pictures! Great to see the cemetery in its construction
Hi jeronij!
I have to say...I've never seen such a great work like yours! I'm impressed...and a lot! ;) Your new walls are perfect, I love them. The cemetery looks so great on the top of that hill and the whole layout of the city is very realistic! I like that european style that you put in your cities...Oh...and an other thing, your terraforming is simply amazing! I would like to terraform my cities like yours, but I can't, I'm just not that good...
Well, I'm gonna keep practicing and then (maybe) I'll be able to do such terraforming like yours!
Great job Jeronij! I love it!
LP
That's some seriously tought terrain to build in you've got there. So... push the button already! I can't wait any longer! %BUd%
Very very nice Jeronij  I really like the layout ;)
The cemetary looks great, and your new walls are fantastic (I can't wait to use them)!
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors ;D
It is time to post a short series of pictures about the construction of the cemetary. Once it is finished, and before I click the play button, some more development is to come. I want some more farms in this city before I let the Residentials come in wawes, and as you know, once the population reaches a certain number, no more farms will develop.
Biniaraix Sector D 03 - 01 After some more work on the cemetary, I decided to make some changes... You can see in this pic, the way I use to create the right slope to place the new rural walls, which are available at the exchange btw, Ajax ;) .
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg221.imageshack.us%2Fimg221%2F9599%2Fgc07bnx01pq7.jpg&hash=684ac32332a3ebe75cfcc2be246be63f21d8d508)
Biniaraix Sector D 03 - 02 And here is the final result.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg224.imageshack.us%2Fimg224%2F4600%2Fgc07bnx02xz2.jpg&hash=d6906ce840197f5342dc5d0a879e44145324bc13)
Biniaraix Sector D 03 - 03 Another perspective...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg221.imageshack.us%2Fimg221%2F5918%2Fgc07bnx03hi7.jpg&hash=a6e85b81bc2cb8e9ce7f9c881982e7e7c3515a2c)
Biniaraix Sector D 03 - 04 Now the area is completed, and ready to develop.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg221.imageshack.us%2Fimg221%2F3959%2Fgc07bnx04zl1.jpg&hash=999e35a8e473d6d960aee3d3bd6a9a4439b0c0e1)
Biniaraix Sector D 03 - 05 Here you can see the next area to be developed. As mentioned at the start of this post, some more farms will be placed there.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg224.imageshack.us%2Fimg224%2F543%2Fgc07bnx05zc6.jpg&hash=a223512903589d5f539591b30601ebed42573610)
I hope you can still wait some more pictures "before the click" ;D
dedgren/David , thanks for your pleasant feedback
LP_Green , it is just a matter of practice and patience ;) . If you want, you can.
To all: Thanks for taking the time to post a comment in this Diary, and thanks to all for being so gentle members ()flower()
awesome grave yard i love the tier with the steps, lots of great details, awesome work and pics
excellent pictures! Great work!
Another excellent update!
I really like the last shot. It shows the prominance retaining walls have to play in terraceing a village and farms through the valley. It looks like you've kept the walls to just a few styles rather than mixing a whole bunch. It looks good!
Ahhh! Biniaraix is going to be great! I can't wait for the development! ;D The cemetery is so nice, it's so well made! Great additions on it with the rural walls, they fit perfectly with it! ;)
You said that all is in practice? I'm sure you're right! ...and I really want to succeed in terraforming like you do. I'm gonna put a lot of determination :)
Again, great job!
LP_Green
The cemetary looks very good. That had to take hours to make! Keep up the good work!
Wow Jeroni. It's great to see the area arround the village shown here, and I like how you made these 3 bridges cross the river.. &apls
Very nice work Jeroni  I love that cemetery, it looks beautiful. I cannot wait to see the farms developed
Excellent update my friend just as always. &apls
Your new walls look perfect around your cemetary which is just like real life &apls
looking forward to after the click but more before shots is good too ::)
kettle's on mate!
More outstanding attention to fine details, my friend.
Sector D...the place to be!
Another great update! I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said. Looking forward to the next update and the "click"!
Brilliant work Jeronij. It is very nice to see you playing the game again.
Looking at the cemetary I was wondering which cemetary lots you use? I like especially that gate.
One thing I am always missing at the cemetaries we post is some space for new graves. The cemetaries are so full that I hardly can believe that there is no spare space anymore.
At which point (I noticed that it occurs) do farms no longer develop? Does any one know that?
Keep on playing jeronij!
Nik-Nik
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors,
A so big amount of such pleasant feedback, deserves a fresh update right now :D !!!
Time to see how the planning is being done in sector D.
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 01 The development starts near the school, just under the cemetery. I left the grid on, so you can appreciate the terrain's difficulty.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg442.imageshack.us%2Fimg442%2F7040%2Fgc08bnx01tc0.jpg&hash=afc60c8d2814caac6fd912257c84b82dda9ee2f5)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 02 Of course, a pathway must lead to somewhere....in this case some ancient castle ruins just under the snowline...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F2463%2Fgc08bnx02gj1.jpg&hash=fbe8126fa429b18423c033b65c7e0102b46744b8)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 03 And from there, to the new farming area...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg442.imageshack.us%2Fimg442%2F2251%2Fgc08bnx03ke4.jpg&hash=09f7b6003d3bf16e457e8b43553e155e015de219)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 04 And another perspective.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg201.imageshack.us%2Fimg201%2F4594%2Fgc08bnx04mn7.jpg&hash=df87ec7d63f87be5b2ce0a2e0894aad1f1f91714)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 05 After some fine detailing, the new area is ready for "the click" ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg201.imageshack.us%2Fimg201%2F4397%2Fgc08bnx05mw0.jpg&hash=0e14ae8e56cf4cba6a3684a6db8696812c7d4e56)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 06 But there is more developing work in the area, before we let the sims come and stay ::)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F9924%2Fgc08bnx06dm3.jpg&hash=f7e98001957ec194834174e49f13d067968dea3d)
Biniaraix Sector D 04 - 07 So, we stop here, and wait for the next update... ;)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F3589%2Fgc08bnx07fy6.jpg&hash=5467f5f8deb6c345fd2fb387f3c75be6bc7ccbee)
I hope you like the main layout...some "real" development will start soon ;D !!!
Thanks to all the members that found a minute to post their nice and motivating comments to Grand Canyon  !!! It is always a plesure to come and find so much excellent feedback ;D
Nik-Nik, I use a cemetary lot found in Simtropolis (this one]http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=15700]this one (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=15700)) as a basis for a custom lot set. I changed some textures and some props and Voila !!!. The gates I used in this cemetery are included in my rural walls set.
Actually the available space is short also for the cemetaries. I can see entire modern buildings in the cemetary in Palma de Mallorca, which are used instead land tombs. Also many people wants to be burned once dead, so land space is not that necessary....
I am not sure at which number of residents the farms stop to develop, but since the "bigger" farms are stage 3, and the game goes until stage 8, probably when you start to see stage 4 residential buildings, or stage 3 farms, you are probably near the limit ;)
Again thanks to all for the feedback !! Next update in progress....
This brings back some good memories of Sculpting Columbia River... except it's better!
Keep up the great work!
This new farming area's gonna be great! I can't wait for the development. I also like that pathway up the mountain that leads to the ruins. Also, you got a really realistic and impressive layout! That's so great!
Good job Jeronij!
LP
Very interesting work. The grid really does show the difficulty of the terrain, thanks for showing pics with and without the grid. I'd like to see a close-up of the castle ruins, or better yet, where you got it and I can take a look at it myself (if it is not too much trouble ;) ). The new farm layout looks great! You are such a tease with the "click"! ;D
Very cool Jeroni! &apls I love the castle ruins and the path, very realistic ;) Great overview, keep it up mate
Sector D looks so great!
The master published again &apls Great update again Jeronij. The grid realy adds to these pictures adn gives us all an idea about the slope grades.
But is it my eyes or does this road end on the soccerfield?
wow, great planning! really realistic.
well, enough for my first post ever.
(mi capacidad para expresarme se ve tremendamente reducida cuando tengo que hacerlo en inglés, seguiré intentando)
Thank you for the Link Jeronij. Gosh more than 21 pieces. My park menu is now absolutely inreadible. ?=mad)=
Beatiful pics. I ike that one staring down from the mountain on the ruin and trail, it has some nice 3D effects.
Also nice to see that Mc Donalds at the foot of the mountain. The kids can walk the trail path to the Mc Donald during lunch hour or would taht take too long..... ;D
Nik-Nik
Great, Jeronij! I really like the style of this journal
Nice!!
Bueno, ya ves que por lo menos sé visitar tu ciudad aún dormido.
Cristian
beautifull work as allways i love those farms, the paths look amazing, those ruins are excellent where are they from

Time for a quick post...some more development in Sector D. Time to join the new rural area with the main residential and witht he old ruins... I hope you like how this task was done... ;)
Ah, the ruins can be found in the STEX: Underworlds Ruins (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=14155) by underworld

Sector D is looking great! Keep up the good work!
Nice update! I like the additional trees you have added, especiallly around the ruins. BTW, thanks for the link! ;D
Hey Jeronij,
I've just checked your works here. And you know what? They're amazing!
This is the style of building that I like - sculpting, so much work on so small area. I think you'll agree with me, the more hard the terrain is to build, the more fun game provides! I really like that trails which goes uphill to castle ruins. It must have been a pain in the neck to terraform it properly, but the effects are great.
I'm looking forward to more of Grand Canyon!
Man - the details of the terrain and layouts are awesome again. &apls
Fantastic update! Like your farm using!
Nice update Jeronij.
I really like the little rural airport. Looks quite realistic to me.
You have what looks like a roundabout at the end of the airport lane, I'm not familiar with.
Is it one of your creations, and is it available for download?
And lastly, you're driving us crazy.
When are you going to click the play button, and let those zones start growing :D
That looks great Jeroni  I cannot wait to see those farms developed
&hlp No I cannot wait until the click you tease &hlp

Not yet.... $%Grinno$% , first a close up on the ruins. I am not sure how these models were rendered, but from some perspective it looks a bit odd. Not from this point of view.

I would like to have some more time to reply all your post one by one, but unfortunately I dont have this time, so I'll resume it into a BIG THANKS to all. I really loved your comments, and I agree with all of them. Thanks for making my visit to this CJ a pleasure
I used to love gazing at your small Mediterranean towns grow... and I still do! There is so much detail that I have to look at the pictures over and over again! Keep up the amazing work!
&apls These pictures are a joy to look at - so much going on. I love your playing style! ;D
Everything looks so nice and realistic. Great work.
And what kid doesn't like McDonald's? :D
The last pics were all great, butwas absolute perfection. Looking at this MD takes me right back to the place in Italy where I lived for a wonderful two years 25 years ago- beautiful stuff, jeroni. Beautiful stuff.
David
Good to see you finally pushed the button... the result is stunning!
Yes, he clicked, YES, YES he CLICKED!
I have to give some comments here. As a spokesman for the schoolchildren I have to speak against the current position of the MacDonalds. Although it is nearer to the trail, the route there is more difficult as the children have to walk or bike past the big through road. I would suggest some stairs from the trail to the Mc Donalds.
The area across the road of the Mc Donalds is very nice. I love that sign next to the tractor sales.
Which office builing is that acros the entrance of the Macdonalds it's a 3x2 the one with parking lot?
Why are there suddenly no road acces zots in that field across the airstrip? Speaking airstrip, I have nec=ver seen this airfeld so well placed Bravo!! &apls
finally, two questions. What is taht big yellow thingy in the last picture on the right below side? And can you give a shot of that industrial area just behind the Mac onalds?
Have a great weekend.
Nik-Nik
wonderful pictures! Biniaraix is looking great!
Wow! I need a smoke after that click!
Very nice update. The town is absolutely wonderful.
Great update! I love the farming communities!
I have been trying to pictyre how Biniaraix would look like after the click..... it became even better ! &apls
Hola amigo
I totally agree with David, perfect pics!
In fact your setup looks like a intricate miniature!
Superbly done!
&apls
this really took off once the housing grew in. Very colors and small intricate layout, with lots going on. I do have one small gripe about the tile and that is the flora, with all the great new god mode tree mods, you can get some really nice alpine meadows and realistic treeline vegetation, instead of the same trees growing in the valley and on the snow pack. Obviously just being picky, but is would just look, almost hyper realistic with a retouch of flora.
oh yeah and a quick tip about growing residentials with DTs mod, try and keep track of what building grows on what lot size, and try to just have one lot size for each building (delete less used options), that way by setting your tilest specifically to only one, ie euro, houston, ect, zoning a certain size 1x2 1x2 2x2 2x3 ect, and keeping taxes of the two wealth groups you do not want to grow at the moment above 10%, you should get a specific building each time, or at most only 2 or 3 options at each size. this makes it really easy to get the exact growables you want. When you learn what grows when, it is pretty much like having plopable residential if you know what i mean.
I agree , on Biniaraix - U06_06 , the mix of vegetation and fields realism is incredible . Though , my prefered is the first , the panorama is breathtaking , the scene looks so familiar that I was wondering fisrt : I know this place , but where is it ?
I think it's the viaduc , looking like viaduc de Garabit by G. Eiffel , I was fishing there with my grandfather when I was a child .
It looks like a photography of auvergne (Old volcano's region in the center of France) .
Just wonderful .
Hello again dear Grand Canyon visitors ;D
I apologize for the lack of updates, but I am quite busy at the moment. Anyway, finally I found a minute to post some more pictures ;)
Today I dont have the time to answer all your posts personally, but all they are very pleasant and motivating. Just what I needed after a day like yesterday :'( . So a
BIG THANKS
go for you all
NN, I understans your suggestion about the access to the McD...I´ll try to find a solution for this
;)
And with no further delay, here you can see some more pictures about how the development was for that area. No comments. Simply enjoy ;D . Ah, pics are 1024 pixels in width.

I hope you like them. There are some small nice places in that area. I hope you can also notice how I tried to mix some more modern styles near the center. Nothing excessive I hope ::)
Fabbergasting as usual Jeronij!
I love the modern style near the town center. Very nice buildings those pink-roofed ones!
Last picture is fascinating!
HAve a great rest of the sunday.
Nik-Nik
Yes, I think since always 1024 is the minimum ... I would like to see all this beauty full screen ... like you . Now I would like to see cows on the heights of this country . There's already a Lot for that , with too much cows however , you can make your own with the original MAXIS' prop Effect_ cows ... ;D
A wonderful update Jeronij!
In the zoomed out shots, we really get a feel for your rural countryside.
I really like the layout of your farms.
There is a very nice mix of trees between the farms that looks very natural.
Amazing. I love the snow melt from the mountain as it cascades through the valley underneath those bridges. While the whole area is brilliant, that is the part that most does it for me
The slopes. The farms. The slopes. The farms.
I feel like I'm going to cry.. it's just beautiful!
:o I love how the train weaves its way through, under and over everything! This is a well planned area Jeroni! Welldone
Outstanding work!! ;D Must have taken ages to get it so perfect :)
Very nice work indeed. Seems to be well planned :satisfied:
Hola Jeroni,
I never ceased to be amazed at how good you are at managing those dirt streets/roads, every time I've tried, the dirt is always mixed with smsll strips of asphalt....
I think that you already made a small tutorial about how you do this!
Have you made something similar here at SC4D??
Anyhow... great work amigo!
Take care and have a great week!
John
Jeroni:
When I looked at the pics the old saying came to mind Less is More
Great design and work.
Keith
Great update! I love the farms and how they reach up to the base of the mountains! Keep up the fantastic work!
Beautiful. Beyond. Belief.
Biniaraix!
The last pic, 07, is almost vertigo-inducing. You feel, as you look at it, that you are standing at the top of that snowy slope in the foreground looking down...
...way down...
...on all that off in the distance. Wow, jeroni- I don't what else to say.
David
Well - this is my 1st post on SC4D *grin*
So I thought it is appropriate for me to comment on your Grand Canyon Jeronij!
*speechless**flabbergasted**amazed**splutters**faints*
It is indeed beautiful beyond belief as dedgren said. I am really amazed at the beauty and the effort that must be involved - it almost look as if I am overlooking a real countryside in a small plane!
BTW, just wondering about the path up the steep hillside you had a few pages back - where did u get it?
Wow jeroni, how can you still outdoing yourself after that many hours of play
The pic 06 is one of the best I ever seen, the curving road, the farms and the slopes are perfects
&apls &apls &apls &apls
Wonderful town and wonderful rural areas!
Pic 2 and 4 are my favourites. It did take you a lot deleting and let grow again to have those med building to grow on pic 2, didn't you? Very nice job Jer, keep it up. ;)
Hello to all Grand Canyon visitors !!!
Wow , so much feedback....I would swear I posted yesterday.....You are great motivating people  &apls !!!!
I am glad you liked the layout and some of the small residential areas. I do agree with Wngn and dedgreen about pics 6 and 7. They are some of my favoutires ever ;)
Rayden and Alek, I have created a custom set of lots, 30 more or less, which are growable R$ 1x1, 1x2 and 2x2, using Mickebear's props. Using these with DT's No Maxis Buildings, and the other Istrinian content, they grow quite easily and you can make an Mediterranean city in seconds ;D. I just had to seriously deal with that white "pinkish" 1x1 residential, which seems to grow like mushrooms ::)
Thanks for the feedback again  . Some more regular updates, and then what about a nice and looooooooooong mosaic ?¿ ;D
jeronij, you are truely a master of SimCity! Picture 7 is amazing and makes you feel, as dedgren said like you are top of that slope! &apls &apls
By the way how long have you been playing SimCity?

I really hate you, for being able to do that kind of lots (growable ones). $%Grinno$% I have to work around with taxes (Alek's style) and with a lot of praying (Silvio's style) :D
Beautiful work! Simple words, but I don't know what else to say. Words fail me!
Le Grand Canyon c'est ... er ... Beautiful!!!
I'm glad to have finally discovered your site Jeroni. Having been away in RL, I've only just found the time to discover your site and that you are continuing your entertaining, inspirational and beautiful work. I look forward to learning more from you and your work and maybe one day even dare to submit a CJ ...er MD of my own. ;)
Good luck with your site and your fantastic MD . I'm sure I'll be commenting in more detail as time goes o by and as soon as I find time in the day for SC4 and all that intails ;D
Low Light (Lurker mode ON) $%#Ninj2
Jeronij, where does it end with you? You keep outdoing yourself everytime update! Fantastic stuff, and I love the little valley with the two bridges. It seems you placed each tree singlehandedly after studying the area for hours, they seem perfectly placed! Great job.
Wow jeronij your cj are always getting better even when they seem they are at the best they can get. Great job
Oaow!!It's beautiful!Bravo! ;)
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors !!!
Your incredible feedback and pleasant comments well deserve my first mosaic at SC4D . I hope you like it, and you dont mind the unfinished area to the south of the pic.
Here we go ;)
Rayden, I will see if I can find sometime to fix these lots, and release them to the LEX...I am so short of time... ::)
Thanks Jer. Beautiful mosaic that one of yours. I can see you too, have that problem called Vizcaya. They grow like weeds, don't they? I kind of like them, except the pink roof, but the grow rate it's too big. In 10 times, they appear 5.
That's far from just a mosaic, jeroni-
That's an entire beautiful countryside.
...I wish I had a four-foot tall monitor...
I really, really like the way that you can follow the rail line almost from the top to the bottom. It's mesmerizing.
David
I have not any words to describe your work. It's really impressive. Great mosaic &apls
I don't know what to say, that I haven't sayed before. As impressive as always.
Thanks Jeronij for your another of your fantastic CJ/MD's. They are always so colorful and beautifully detailed. I see so much I would like to try out next time I start up Simcity.
awesome mosaic  great farm areas
Wow, I didn't expect this would happen, but I find myself more often in the MD section somehow... And I just fell in love with this region (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fsc4devotion.com%2Fforums%2FSmileys%2FJasonSmilies%2Flove-smiley-019.gif&hash=07eab6df2ccd8dad542c0be7ea0893f58a094d85) It's overall great but the nearer the shots are, the more it gets clear, how much great detail you put in this region. Amazing work, jeronij
This CJ is awesome, and those 2 bridges going over that valley are almost too good to be true ;D
Fantastic work!
Please continue to amaze us all with your skills.
Wow this mosaic shows realy nice the river valley and the surrounding area. Lovely indeed.
Porkies school nicely blend in with the rest of the town.
That water tower in the middle of the fields. LOL.
Imagine living in that house next to the elevator of the grain silo (which goes over the street/road, brilliant).
One comment: I see a lot of reptition in that bath double silo lot. Did it grow like weeds as Rayden puts it, or did you plop them so much?
Nik-Nik
What lovely pictures, that looks like a really nice place to live! When I grow up I want to be able to build cities/farms/villages just like you
That mosaic is beautiful, and seamless! A lot of mosaics show the divisions between when one picture ends and the next begins, but yours is like one huge picture! That would be a great idea for what I would consider a much-needed tutorial...Anyway, that's a great job, I'll be looking forward to seeing more!
Wow!
One of the things I like the most about the way you build is that you are using levels without always making terraces from them. I do enjoy straght terraces too, but your gentle slopes look very organic and realistic.
:o
That is truly a marvel to behold. I love the transportation infrastructure and how it leads the eye down the picture. The little towns and villages are picturesque and I could see my self visiting such a place and falling in love with it.
I hate to sound like a broken record but, keep up the good work Jeroni. Your Art work is much appreciated and is always very inspiring.
Ciáo for now,
Low Light $%#Ninj2 (AKA Ruben)
Hola Jeroni,
That last mosaic was a real beauty!
I'm always impressed by your way of playing with grades and slopes, it makes for a very real looking landscape. Lot of depth!
And those high bridges..... WOW very scenic!
Take care amigo!
I love the slopes and the throughout wellplanned city :) the bridges are awesome
Wow this is a great MD, I cant wait untill the next update!
I love this mosaic ! Really impressive ! Great job
Wow.........incredible pictures. Very well laid out. Realistic, scenic, never too much or too little. The way you play with the slpoes is very well thought out. I really like the train bridge across the valley. Impressive indeed. And the mosaic........thinking........I'm lost for words.
It's the first time I see the city of the master jeronij ! I love it
You're really a master
Great work! God, you must have a lot of time!
:) &apls
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors ;D !!!
It is time for some more pics on Biniaraix. I am sorry for the delay....lack of time....webmastering has these thing.... ::)
So today I will post a set of 10 pictures on the recently developed area, with several closeups which will allow you to enjoy the great BATs and LOTs I am using in this city ;)
So, lets start...
GC - Biniaraix - U12 Pic01
This is an overall view on the new farming area. The small parking place behind the small neighborhood is quite populated by the weekend, when the visitors come to take pictures to the waterfalls (I would swear I saw Colyn there last weekend :D ). People living in that small village say that the waterfalls rumour all night long is really relaxing.... :D

GC - Biniaraix - U12 Pic02
An overall view on the area. At this stage of development, the farms were more difficult to grow... ::)

Here we can see how the previous area joins to the old residential center...

Again a vital intersection. I also like the way that these residential homes grew. Even with the Vizcaya ones....

GC - Biniaraix - U12 Pic06
Still some calm and rest is available in this area...I can hear the birds..... ;D

I hope you like the detailed pictures....I really enjoy that virtual place at my computer ;D
A BIG thanks to all once again for your pleasant comments and feedback, after so long time playing
That is a lovely update Jeronij.
It all came together beautifully.
The choice of trees and flora really compliment the rural and small town feel.
I agree, the church is a real beauty.
The mix of retaining walls you have used looks very natural, quite realistic.
I also liked the dirt path with the low stone walls in picture 06.
I'm not sure I have seen those before.
Thanks for the update!
I find that I don't comment here as much as I should. But one runs out of ... ah, well, things to say to convey how beautiful this MD is. I am American and I feel as if I'm on a great vacation, roaming the European countryside. It is so nice and warm, so utterly breathtaking and then I come across a Micky D's. Is this what Europe looks like? That grand flowing of country and town that is interupted by a lousy fast food joint. If so I feel the need to apoligize just because, well just because. The McDonald's dosen't belong there, even if it's realistic.
Please forgive me, I don't mean to sound mean. I guess I just hate Micky D's. At least in this MD.
Saying to myself: Snap out of it! Snap out of it! :o
I could stare at your pictures for a very long time, they are that good.
wonderful pictures and work!
Like Vester said, I could be staring at your pictures during all day that I wouldn't be tired off
WOW ! It's stupefiant !!! I don't want play at sc4 now :'(
&apls Long time no see your CJ . Sorry . But i`m glad to came back and see your great update . Very well done .I like everything that i see. keep going.
Great update! I can never get enough of your work, particularly the farming areas that you make! And you're right, that church by Mickebear looks outstanding. Keep up the good work!
Jeroni!
More gorgeous rural landscapes, created with the deft touch yet sure hand of an Old Master.
Pic 10's my favorite favorite (it's my new desktop wallpaper), but they're all, as usual, incredible examples of what can be done with quality custom content in the hands of a skilled player.
Your updates are always a big event.
David
Like Dedgren above me said, (combined that is) the updates of an Old Master are always a big event.
I always enjoy viewing your MD and this update is no exception. Every image has so many details to see - just amazing! Mickebears' bats have found a great home in your MD
It's just insane ! Your pictures are fantastic. I really enjoy your updates. Bravo
I can only ditto the others. Your areas are the most realistic european-style ones I have ever seen!
&apls &apls
Can't wait to see more!
I've just registered, and I've seen all the pages of this MD, you're a really master Jeronji !!!!! You rock all !
Wow yet another great update! I was wondering where you got the hockey field? I really like hockey and would like to build a hockey field in my cities, so could you please tell me where to find it?
It's awesome city!
Even the position of the road and the building is beautiful! &apls
Very nice update Jeronij. It was worth the waiting.
I am being a pain in the ..... again:
Did you notice the wing span of the airplane on the airstrip. The trees between the airstrip and the rail track will probably be a dangerous obstacle for save landing. Maybe a low fence would be better?
Mayor, one question on behalf of the children. You promised them a solution to get to the McDonalds. Did you forget about those youngsters already (they are your future electorate).
I like that pic 5. The homes are well places especially the corner one. LOL, that hamburger joint. Probably the children are going theer now (but having to cross a dangerous road).
Best pic is the town hall and square. It is so mediterranian that I feel like being on holiday when watching it. Great work.
Nik-Nik
Great update, your pictures are incredible.
A little question,
In the top left hand corner, how did you prevent the intersection when the street joins the road? Great effect.
I think I can reply : YTou do the corner of the road and after you do the intersection with the street ;)
rooker: thats actually one of the effects of the euro street mod, you should try it out, i deffinetly recomend it.
great stuff like always jeronij!
I knew it had to be something special. I tried and tried and I couldn't that effect to happen. I thought I was going crazy. Thanks goin2chicago. ;)
OMG! wow this Diary is simply mesmerizing! keep up the good work Jeroni it sort of reminds me of the Spanish countryside, beautiful ;)
I have no idea how you manage to build like that. You are certainly the slope MASTER. &apls
After a long time being away here I read the new updates and watched the pictures with tears in my eyes. It's sooo beautfull what you do. The usage of trees is doing the trick every time again. For me, you're simply the best.. (before I get to emotional now I go see the other MD's if you don't mind ;)
Excellent work with hard objects !!!!!
UP !!!
Hi
jeronij ,
I know you're working hardly for us with canals & dams ....
would like have some news of Grand Canyon MD .
()testing()
Hello again dear GC visitors ;D
Well, yes, I am busy with many projects at the moment, being the canals and dam the most relevant perharps. But I found half an hour to edit some pics and post the here, so David wont move this one to the "dungeons".... $%Grinno$% :D :D
OK, I spent most ofd my time preparing the pictures, so not many comments to add, what you can see it this update is a tour over the actual situation of Biniaraix, then some close-ups on the small places around the area, and finally the start of some new development, just under the bridges.

I expected a reply that kind " I'm too busy , see you later ...." , and ,wow , a set in the following hours ..... &hlp (<-- rather means "I'm so excited" than "Help" !!!)
So the boss is back ....
I've found again my only post on Simtropia , just before the creation of SC4Devotion ....

Well , the comment didn't change ... ;D
More. More. More. &apls
It's a good thing that David's admin-powers forces you to make an update every once i a while. I'll take this opportunity to thank you for your work on the new canal set aswell. I downloaded the props earlier and they look amazing. I would go so far as to say that it takes canals to a whole new level.
&dance &dance &dance
Incredible shots again Jeronij. Thanks for taking the time to post them - I cannot wait to see how the area near the bridges will develop! &apls
Great pictures. It is great that you were able to find some time to post again between your very busy schedule, which of coarse is very appreciated.
I can't wait for the next update to see the new area by the bridge.
Robin
&apls Wow ! what a great overview pics you show . Its look awesome . Glad you found some time to share with us .
Rural beauty, captured and fully realized by a master. I don't know what else to say, my friend. I know I'll be returning to this all day.
David
great work!
Wow your city is MAGNIFICOUS &apls &apls
i think its the first time i managed to go through Grand Canyon as your MD. raised taxes to buy myself a helicopter a few months(game hours?) ago and its maiden voyage was to this Grand MD. your walls. the terracing. wow. is there a tutorial on that? really really Grand. i love the rural feel and soul of it. will definitely be back for more. hope RL permits you to update often. see you around, sir :P
exceptional quality and attention to detail, very realistic Jeronij and like others have said can spend an age looking at your pictures.
Mark
Lovely work Jeronij &apls
very great pictures, jeronij! great work!
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors !!!
Time for some feedback and another update. Yes, I know, they come from time to time, but... better later than never ;D
thundercrack83, patfirefghtr, emilin, kimcar, David, sc4portugal ( obrigado ;D ), Antoine (merci ;) ), kwakelaar, bat, thanks for your encouraging posts  . Your nice comments are greatly appreciated, and I am glad you keep liking my cities after so loooooooong time ;)
badsim, I remember that post... 11 post in two years....not that bad $%Grinno$% ;) :D , btw, sebes used the right icon ( &dance ) - use the [other] link.... ;)
sebes, I hope your curiosity will be satisfied in this update ;)
Heinz, there is no tutorial about how to create these cities. I can recommend you to check Sculpting Columbia River and Simtropia (if you didn't) at ST for some hints ;)
mark, I hope you have many ages free, because there are many new pictures to see this time :D
Time for some pictures now.
Lets remember where we were..... just under the old train bridge.... where the rural culverts allow the water pass under the bridges. Still some old houses there....
But the calmness these houses enjoyed is gone forever ( or for many years for sure ;D ).
A BIG cement plant, and several new industries have been placed in this area.
Fortunately the industries are not quite dirty, and severe ordinances have been enabled to avoid dangerous materials being thrown to the clean and pure snow water.
Once the industrial area is completed , Mayor Jeroni decided to build something in that area....
The terrain is difficult but allows some flexibility....
The main street turns into a rural path at the end of the small residential strip.
The rural path conforms to the hilly terrain...
Until it reaches the pond where the waterfall starts. A nice place full of visitors the weekends ::)
An overall view to the situation.
And a close up on the above mentioned pond. Today is sunday, so several sims took their cars and came up to that place to enjoy some pure nature hours ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U14/GC14_JRJ11.jpg)
Finally, in this picture you can see the both waterfall "miradores". The one on the small farming town, and this new one.
I hope you like these pictures.
Again THANKS for your feedback
Oh yeah, nice update :) Gotta love them slopes.
That unerpass thingy with the american/original maxis yellow midline roadtexture? where did you get that? i've seen it in a few cj's lately.
Wonderful picutres Jeronij!

sebes, I hope your curiosity will be satisfied in this update ;)
Oh yeah! The birdseye view of the river, the curved road and the new area and the area (the picture with the yellowline) is fabulous. I bet a shot from the farming town over the rivier, with the curved roads, the new strip village (and probably even the large bridges visible too) would be a bit hit in the picture contest.... ;)
Hi JRJ ... like we can find your stuff under LotEditor . ;)
hehe , 3 months only on SC4Devotion and I'm making here my 240eth post ... all is said . $%Grinno$%
Come back to Grand Canyon .... I just can't get enough of your pictures . You're the king of waterfalls /riverbeds , are you inspired by your own countryside in Spain ? These pictures have something of Corsica too ... ::) . I think I've made an error choosing Sorchin's ploppable water when I see the amazing transparency of your with rocks visible under water ...superb &apls ... and beyond any competition . ;)
when you showed the houses by the falls... calm. then the next pic with the industry... honestly... my knees jerked in pain for those who lived there. lol!!!! the trail... i'd love to trek up and down that if i had the chance. great work. good job! :P
Absolutely splendid, my friend! Your skills are stunning. Another great update!
Fantastic update &apls Grand Canyon is one of my favourite MD. Bravo !
&apls Great to see another update of Grand Canyon . Those rivers are just awesome . Great pics you show us . Never enough of this. Keep it up
Great pictures, I like the industry by the river, the bridges look very cool and the waterfalls coming down the mountain look outstanding.
Robin
I love the new small village and how it conforms to the landscape also the mainroad going up the mountain is quite spectacular. :)
Jeronij - the rural paths are brilliant and look very realistic as they climb the mountain (actually all of your work with the mountsides is amazing) - Biniaraix looks so tranquil!
Absoloutly stunning! As always. &apls
amazing jeronij...simply amazing!!!
i had love your CJ since at simtropolis - simtropia
your farms, rural area and terafroming simply amazed me
they are GREAT and really helps me alot in creating my sandbox city &apls &apls &apls &apls &apls
thanks again!!
Jeronij im totaly in awe dropping here. I so loved the shot with rail bridge and the industrial area underneath.
Does the road in that shot go under the bridge or is that to the minds imagination???
Great pictures of the small town and industrial area! Wonderful work!
Awesome CJ. Can't wait for the next part. Just wanted to check if there was anything new before I leave for the airport in 30 mins. Going to Barcelona for a week. :)
Great CJ!
very lush, very jeronij and very awesome you are still a true original master.
Fantastic update !!! 0_o you're the god of simcity !!
Amazing CJ, jeronij. Your rural and natural areas are beautiful
I love this MD.
Great industrial development, although the houses down stream may not have a lot of water pollution teh cement industry will certainly know some dust problems as the wind of the waterfall blows all the dust right to the houses!
That residential strip is just lovely.
BTW did you notice your cash flow? AIGO cement factories increase the budget significantly!
Nik-Nik
I don't know how you do it. This is a great MD! Now I have to go back and look at MY waterfalls. :(
Great MD, jeronij! Your style of building has always been interesting to me!
Hello dear Gran Canyon visitors, and thanks for you kind coments and feedback
I want to excuse me for the delay between updates, but there are soooooo many things that require my attention lately ... ::)
Anyway, time for some pictures... this time Mayor Jeroni confronts to a serious challenge..
A highway is crossing the city tile.
There is an easy way to connect to one of the neighbor cities...
But the conection to the other city will require some serious terraforming....
After some "try and fail", this is the final shape that the highway takes...
Unforutnately the curve options are quite limited for highways....
And I wanted to make it look somehow credible...well, from some perspectives it looks better ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U15/GC15_JRJ07.jpg)
Time for some general views on the development so far...
And now time to start detailing the area... first some walls and trees....
And as you can perfectly see, the final result...oh wait.... what it with the zoom ¡¡¡
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U15/GC15_JRJ11.jpg)
Zoom 4 please, zoom 4....
Thank you, now you can see the water treatment plant that was placed in that difficult to access place in the middle of the highway...
There is some more detailing left in the area....
And my favourite one on this area...
But I thought I could show these pictures already ;D
I hope you like them, I dont have much time to reply you one by one, but you can be sure that I enjoyed every one of your post, and I do really appreciate your support and kind words
See you next update ;D
That is quite the highway route, jeronij! And I love the farms that are inside the highway loop! Great work, my friend!
It just doesn't get any better than a day when you give us a GC update, jeroni!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg127.imageshack.us%2Fimg127%2F428%2Fgrandcanyonhighwaygradetn1.jpg&hash=0648bb39e6cb5c3aaad17fbf106c445d64ea901e)
That is some honkin' elevation change while maintaining that nice smooth grade.
David
its probably very close to the maximum gradient threshold for cliffs, either way some amazig shots there...
I love your work. One of my favorite SC4 pasttimes is terraforming highways and roads along difficult and steep terrain. It's my favorite challenge. Beautiful waterfalls and farms and, well, just about everything.
wonderful terraforming and great highway! Fantastic pictures, jeronij!
another great update from jeronij!!! &apls &apls &apls
it certainly gives me more idea on building the wonderful highway :D
Nice update with the incredible highway going down the mountain.
I can't believe that I have managed to wait this long before looking through this MD. It is incredible Jeroni! I am massively impessed by how you deal with the terrain - especially in the recent update with the highway.
Great work.
Hi JRJ ,
I'm sure the size of your pictures don't give justice to your work on elevation change of this highway ... after all , maybe is it better , requesting a observant eye and a little analysis ...(better than an immediate , obvious -so easy- striking effect )
Would like to be in front of your own screen . ;D
My only suggestion would be about the straight other part of this highway on the most distant view , suddenly making us remember we are just watching an SC4 picture . ::)
Except that , I can't get enough of this wonderful landscape ... &apls
truely amazing ! So detailed ! Look's real !!!!!
Hola Jeroni,
I agree with David, the way you've done that winding highway setup is more than fine, it's simply astounding! The slopes are perfect, and Badsim is right, the pics can't do justice to your work, sometimes we have to see the "real thing" to fully appreciate all the efforts that have been put into a particular setup!
Hat's off to you.
Give my regards to your family.
-John
Wow, I feel really glad to see some great comments by some solid members of our community
Thanks to all for yoeur kind words, which make this MD worth continuing ;D
John, great to see you around Grand Canyon  , I wish you the best with your guitar ;)
Badsim, well, certainly, SC4 shows up everytime I start the game :D :D
David, thanks for pointing the exact slope my friend ;D . I made this highway keeping in mind Link-->Sa Calobra (http://www.ingrids-welt.de/reise/mall/tracall.htm) road in Mallorca $%Grinno$%
To all, thanks for your support and feedback ¡¡¡, I hope you like the next pictures as well ::)
Time to show some more progress in Grand Canyon....
A last look on the highway before we proceed ....
The next development was near the cascade... an old existing rural way was choosed to connect the farming land with the undeveloped area across the bridges...
After some work, the road is upgraded....
And some residential zoning is placed along the road
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U16/GC16_JRJ04.jpg)
Some perspective on the situation
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U16/GC16_JRJ05.jpg)
This picture was rapidly eliminated in the pictures competition thread, so it is not that good ::)
Suddenly the railroad changes into a street, and a full residential development takes place...
Now some overall views for your eyes ;)
Overall view 1
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U16/GC16_JRJ08.jpg)
Overall view 2
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U16/GC16_JRJ09.jpg)
In the next update we will see how this new residential resort grows and develops...
I hope you liked the pictures ;D . The mediterranean houses will slowly start to change into something more metropolitan somtime in the future.... $%#Ninj2
Again thanks for the feedback
That's another fantastic update, jeronij! I really like your windy roads! Lookinf forward for more!
Beautiful update, my friend! You are certainly the master of making the windy roads that traverse the mountainsides. And don't worry about that picture that didn't do well in the competition, it still looks great! Always great to see a Grand Canyon update!
Hi Jeroni ,
D'you know that with this road you just have reproduced the case of Millau , and why this insane viaduc has been built ? ... ;D
Though it is an highway ...
Superb work ... I agree ; you work like a sculptor . And one of those I prefer : with no precise and definite idea of what it will be , but just following your inspiration .
Quote from: jeronij on May 25, 2007, 08:53:48 AM

Humm ... change ? ()lurker() <----- :D ... I hope you mean " in complement" and not "instead of " ... well , to tell you the truth , I think you shouldn't ; I love so much this landscape as it is ... ::)
It's so beautiful and so realist than I'm jealous $%Grinno$%
Excellent work, it's fantastic
Bravo &apls
Thank you for showing these pictures... from the moment that I notice the start of the winding roads behind the bridges I was wondering how it would continue "up there" ... and I am pleased with the views :satisfied: ... A LOT! The winding road itself is one of favorites. I still cannot believe that it did not end up in the Hall of Fame !
There is something about that batch of screens that I don't like, and I can't pick out what it is ()sad()
I think it's good stuff. I love the winding roads and steep climbs.
It's got that touch of Olympia. (ie. it's really good :P)
I don't really like the highway, but you've made it look good.
Where dou you got these houses , i sought this but i nver found it .
Quite spectacular with the roads and housing in this terrain.
as usal it's over great ! your moutain road are very great, so theatrical ! Like , well no don't like it, love it !
Like others have said, the winding roads are incredible!
I've tried these, without the great results you have here, and I know the incredible amount of work that goes into making them.
Awesome Jeronij!!!
simply amazing! &apls
That is just not possible. Just not possible to develop steep hillsides in that way. I have no idea how you pulled it off. Amazing. &apls
Superb... Just superb &apls
Hello dear Grand Canyon visitors ;D ¡¡¡
Always a pleasure to see you all and read your (mostly ::) ) pleasant comments
I am short of time, so I will go for some pictures. But before:
bat , thundercrack83 , Badsim, Snaper, sebes, JJ, glepet, Shadow Assassin , kwakelaar, nova vesfalo, hogs29, HabLeUrG, emilin, Air6 , thanks to all for your inspiring comments  However, I have to admit that the terrain helps a lot when it comes to create such networks ;D . It is just a matter to try to reproduce the reality ::)
Ralph : Check this : http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=468 ( and dont forget the dependencies ;) ) You can also check for any Mickebear's stuff. Top quality ;D
Ok,with no more delay, lets go for some pictures,
As usual, a view where we left the city last time... the new urban development near the cascade...
A view on the main plaza, and the small commercial buildings.
It is time to start breaking the grid a little bit. First one side of the rural pathway...
And the other side of the pathway, until the main road.
The final result. Now it the town looks more integrated in the surrounding terrain...
One final view on the area.
It is time to expand the residential area.... the terrain is more sloped that you can notice in that pic...
And placing this station was a real nightmare....
The prgramed expansion will mean more traffic, and more traffic needs a good signals system ;D
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/images/jrj/GC/U17/GC17_JRJ10.jpg)
I hope you like the development so far ;D . Again thanks to all for the feedback
Always a joy to see a master at work.
Waaa, Jeronij, it's always too wonderful
Your vegetation is perfect, there are nor too no not enough of trees
Bravo &apls
That's a great looking town, jeronij! Wonderful pictures!
Wow, great update! I love the Mediterranean style houses you use
I was wondering where you got this hockey and soccer field from, could you please tell me where I can download it? I would like to use it in my cities (It was on page 5)
QuoteBiniaraix Sector D 04 - 02 Of course, a pathway must lead to somewhere....in this case some ancient castle ruins just under the snowline...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg166.imageshack.us%2Fimg166%2F2463%2Fgc08bnx02gj1.jpg&hash=fbe8126fa429b18423c033b65c7e0102b46744b8)
Brilliant updates as always - Biniaraix has such an amazing feel to it. I love the way Mickebear's houses cling to the hillsides. It is a joy to look at ()stsfd()
Wow yet another work of art. I was wondering what slop mod you were using? The transition in elevation on the highway looks really good. Usually when I try to lay roads and freeway on such elevation changes it either digs out the terrain or it keeps the terrain level and looks really bad, or I cant connect the network at all.
 Wow your first pic is just stunning . Great valley you have done. &apls
Well, well. A well-placed empty space does wonders. :D
Wonderful job on making the town blend in. You've done the job perfectly!
Beautiful as usual Jeroni &apls Tell me though, how come your city only develops your lots and not maxi's? Did you delete them or you just bulldoze when they develop?
Thanks for the feedback all  ¡¡¡
As you can notice, I dont have much time for the MD lately.... &mmm . I`ll try to find some time to post some new pictures soon ;D
gmavignier, I used Dusktroopers No Maxis Buildings mod ;)
I think there is at least another one mod like this, but I dont recall where I saw it ::)

To All, thanks for your feedback and pleasant comments  ¡¡¡
I found the time to edit some pictures to post, and so keep this MD alive.... :-[ ... I hope you can understand my lack of time ::)
With no further delay , here you can see some mor pictures about the development in Grand Canyon. You can see the development of the old suburbs just across the bridges... this is still an old area, but slowly slowly it becomes a more urban-modern area. Or at least this was my intention ;)
So, not many comments are needed:

Cameron, after checking the field, all the information I can give you is the ingame name of the lot: "All-weather Pitch" ( I dont recall where I downloaded it, and since I use Datpacker, I cant check for individual files ::)
All Weather Pitch (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?id=15909) ;) - Humbling to see it in use in such a brilliant MD, it's one of my older works that I'm not keen on these days, but if someone's asking after it...
Anyway, great update, as always. Looks stunning in both the close ups, and also the zoomed out views
Glad to see you back here, jeronij! The development is absolutely beautiful, I love the little village that popped up there. Also, your technique for making the hills more "rolling" with the rail lines is one I'm going to employ from now on! Great work, as always, my friend!
wonderful development
it's nice to see you keep this md alive, it has always been inspiring ;)
nice to have so news and new pics :)
Love the "near the station" development, your updates are always full of tips and inspiration !!!
Hi jeroni ,
You've got nothing to prove anymore about your skill at playing the game , and I enjoy the turn you've taken as a building BATer ... but yes , please keep this MD alive ! You know ... so many new attracting things to see , it's good to have to come back and see again that kind of great pictures we love but have too tendancy to forget ...
Update not easy to follow because you've got the idea to change the angles of view between each step of the development ... hehe , we ( I at least) have to search and come back to verify what's new ! $%Grinno$%
I love this development so far , perfectly coherent , already said once - I think - more urban if you want ... but I hope not too much . The great landscape of Grand Canyon is at least as important as its urbanization . ;)
(Hey ! Who am I to tell you what you have to do ! ::))
Enjoyed watching how you developped that area. I did not expect such an urbanized area to be planned there. I wonder how the congestion on that winding road (my favorite ever) down into the valley will be now...
Well... I think I've looked at this GREAT MD at least twenty times from the first to the last page. And this is the first time I post... &ops :)
Since I first read your previous CJ "Simtropia" over at ST, I got amazed by your really excellent work. I think you inspired me to start playing SC4 at another level, with all the custom content, and new techniques for developing and landscaping the maps (before that revelation, I used to play SC4 only over flat terrain, and with very griddy looking cities, only waiting for skyscrapers to grow, and very often I got bored and abandoned my cities).
Then, when I saw the unhappy ending of that CJ, I discovered this site, SC4Devotion, and instantly become a member and started downloading excellent stuff and reading all the information available here... And I found your new MD. As before, it was incredible. It IS incredible. I don't know how you make this game come alive, but indeed you achieve this. Your skills on landscaping the slopes and rivers, and your planning of small villages are truly awesome. I really like your winding roads, your bridges and the realism you achieve in blending the "square" buildings into the environment with such smoothness.
Thanks, Jeroni, for making this "game" come alive!
SANDOKAN
It's always such a pleasure to see the fantastic detail you manage in your regions. You continue to be an inspiration.
really amazing work, as always of course. ;)
take care,
Hello to all the Grand Canyon visitors ;)
This project has been cancelled, I feel really sorry for that, but we must think ahead ::) , and a new one ( Mallorca --> link in my signature) has replaced it.
I really enjoyed Grand Canyon, as I hope you did ;) , but I had to take this decision which I hope you all will understand.
Before I leave, I wanted to specially thanks Sandokan ( with way too much delay :-[ &ops ) for his comment which really touched my heart  . Gracias amigo &apls
Good bye Grand Canyon ... Good day Mallorca
