Here's something new I cooked up.

I'm not quite sure how to label that.  It's almost a volleyball but with cloverleaf elements to eliminate all left-hand turns.  You've invented the cloverball!  ;D

I like the idea and it definitely cuts down on space as compared to a full cloverleaf.  Although... in the real world I wonder if the full interchange wouldn't be less expensive to build assuming the land was available - all those traffic signals can't be cheap and it would be a nightmare to get them all timed correctly so the thing doesn't turn into a parking lot.
Wthrwyz: It's "weather wise." You see, it has to fit on a license plate...
Oh, just call me Nathan.

Yeah, I was worried that traffic would back up onto the freeway if it were a real life thing.  The addition of a right turn lane at the first stoplight off the freeway would probably help.  And you're right, it would require eight signal-controlled intersections.  But hey, at least it's just a game and I thought it looked kinda cool.  ;D

Ryan B.

So, I was extrapolating on my mega-cloverstack idea.

Looking good, sir! Nice use of the Big Dig.

Looking good Ryan! Only thing I would suggest is some smooth curves for your loops, so it's consistent with your other ramps.

I love the Big Dig Models... I just hate how you cant do UDI in them... Ryan's use is quite cool as the ones that curve line up with the 'flyunder' ramps, mimicking a stack flyover.

New Video: What Do You Guys Think?

http://youtu.be/WGZfDtS8Sc0#!

This video contains two RHWs: one built to expressway standards (short ramps/intersections) and the other to freeway standards (acceleration lanes/no intersections). There's also a hefty variety of intersection and interchange creations in it.

360, 1080, it all seems to lag the same. Nice easy listening. I will have to criticize what I thought was a skyscraper built into the avenue at one point, 2:04

Stupid growable building... goes way outside the zoned tiles. I can't track down the file and I try to demolish it in game but that one snuck through. :P

Lagging issues? I don't have them. Did you wait for the video to load/buffer all the way?

Anyways...

Spaghetti!

Nice Video Hal.  I really love how you had the roads and highways hugging the surrounding terrain

@Hal

I never really liked those very high light poles, but that's just an opinion and they look realistic so...

Great intersection although I've seen it a couple of times elsewhere I think (or am I just hallucinating?  &Thk/( )

Don't think so, but I noticed too; alot of his highway interchanges look quite simular to eachother.

Can you believe this is the same junction?

The RHW mod has made crazy progress.

You know, come to think of it, I'd like to see the MIS/road intersection pieces return, unless the new Disruptor tech combined with simply dragging the road through the middle tile of a starter piece which has been demolished will allow ramps to go all the way to the road...

Hal, it's fun seeing the then-and-now on that interchange . . . I remember that 2008 pic from back then, and it really is crazy how far we've come.

What MIS/Road intersection pieces?  The MIS can already intersect a Road draggably, and the EMIS can intersect a Road Viaduct with the puzzle pieces under the Road/RHW Interface pieces button.

Nice work guys  &apls   Hal that's a nice before and after comparison and great big-dig usage Ryan B   I just wish the textures on those lots matched better with RHW....

My most recent work remains ongoing. I'm having a bit of trouble with the slopes and have been asking for advice on in my MD....  Full story there but the quick version is this

A little trick with buddybud's underpasses....

And it's always fun to play with m-tels--especially with pretty, re-lotted walls  ;D   Looks like I need to add stone to the other walls though....

I'm saying for between two starterless ramps. Some sort of TuLEPs, maybe?

Nicely done noahclem! Lots of curvy roads!
-As for the slopes, try the RHW or BTM slope mods. They help me considerably.

Terring7: Now that's a DDRHW done right!

Just finished a new RHW/RHW junction. Here it is in it's raw form... turned out larger than I expected, but I like the end result.

Finished the interchange. Made a mosaic of it. It's best viewed in full resolution, and you can find that link below.

Do you think I used too many ponds? can always replace it with stuff like fountains and other decorations... just thinking it would be rather bland if I made it all forest cover.

apeguy

Awesome interchange Hal, that's quite a unique design. What would you call it though? A 2-level TOTSO Cloverstack? ()what()

Whatever you'd call it, I think it's one of the best interchanges you've ever made, and the detailing around them is really good, although I would get rid of a couple of those ponds and maybe just have trees instead. ;)
