I guess the trees are from a tropical festival in that part of the town 

( i have visit Amsterdam many many times, but mostly it was dark and i was not 100% sober   )

what ever happend to that car near that tree?

guess this is the same situation as one of my collegaues had, he had his 2 cars nicely parked in front of his home when late at night a drunk driver hit one car, that hit the next which smashed into the tree. Three cars wrecked a light pole fall over and hit his attic too. alk about bad luck (the drunk driver managed to survive it all with only some scratches)

The palms are a current art project by H. ittegolf called "Global warming"
Well....i have them all ( the vanderaap haarlemergold, and some of TAG's)
but i liked yours as well! maybe they don't look Dutch, but they look Liaanisch!!!

welcome back all!!
it's been a while, but i'm back!
i had a corrupt file in my plugin folder a few weeks ago and i lost 497 files!!
thank Madonna i saved my main building map somewhere else...so that one was saved!
anyhoo after many hours of re-downloading and re-instaling Liaane was back up and running again ( for about 95% )
so when i looked at the city i was ashamed what i did to her, i made her look ugly!
i was getting sloppy and hasty at the end. so i demod a lot and rebuild it again!
she looks far more prettier now...but you can enjoy the new pic in a few updates!!

the JENX Amsterdam Central Station fits in perfectly!
The houses have a nice view over the railroad and trains!
Wouldn't mind living there.
and these cute little shops give it a finishing touch!







This is "Dierwijk"  (animal hood)
Al the streets in this area have animal names (i.e. pinguinlane,llamastreet and guineapigpath)



The "morgenstond" (mornigglory) church
Like  Michelangelo's fresco's in the Sistine Chapel?
Then you realy gonna like the cealing paintings of Fokke Sukkema.
When and why he painted on the cealing of the church was
never clear....but he did it in one night and the people realy loved it!
So they have never been removed!



This is the fleamarket behind the central station.
you can get rid of al you trash here.
legened has that once a woman bought a crate of junk here, which contains three paintings of Rembrant and 2 Picasso's
now hundrerds of people are hoping to find some "treasures"here.

Once an area where nobody wanted to live because of the high poverty and the skyhigh crime.
but now totally renovated and one of the trendiest places to live!









Old meets new.
Old houses meet new office buildings







This is the big pond.
The big pond is the end of the northern canalway
In the 60's The city council puted low resedential housing along the pond to coop up with the high housing demand.
The most of them were replaced in the late 90's by bigger and nicer houses.
The remaning rowes are stil an ugly scar on Liaanes beautiful face.
The people of Liaane love peddleboats.....so they put them everywhere they can

Since dumping dead body's in canals is illegal and you have to put them somewhere......







Opera square

The opera was built in 1876 and is loved by the cultural liaaners.
The Odeon was added in 1998. Which in his turn is loved by the youth of liaane.
After a viset to one of these two ( ore both) you can enjoy a nice dinner in one
of the nice restaurants along this square







After the people of those ugly 60's houses were kicked out of their houses they had to be placed some where else.
The city has built a nice residential area at the far westend of the city.
These apartmentblocks are low in rent so many poor and "starters" are living here.

The area around the big pond and the last pictures do make me think that you got lost in my home area Slotervaart this weekend...  It's looks so real
