Have we had 206 "Double-0" bell-ringers?

I'm just throwing stuff out there.

No, didn't enter that club either. Plus, we don't have more than thousand pages.

Not yet, but we will!  :P

Did you happen to sign up to be a RealRoads tester?

Korot

No, computer wasn't available for a couple of weeks and didn't know when it would return. To that not though, I'd like to sign-up now.

And after reading David's edits: It is either someone who posted one post to soon or to late to become a member of the doulbe-0-club, or all members who have guessed in the view contests, but I had already guessed that, and didn't ring the bell, yet. Of to some research!

Regards,
Korot

Connor

As far as I can remember I haven't guessed in anything, or signed up for anything but I'm on the list.

Korot

That gets rid of those two guesses.

All fact checkers? Doubt it, way to many.
People who posted around last 3RR's birthday? It could be, if I could find myself around those pages.
Everybody who posted in 3RR over at SC4D? Possible, that could easily be 200+, though it would mean an average of 40 posts/person.

Korot

Maybe it has something to do with helping out with any 3RR development in general.

This could include testing items like RAM additions, FAR/FARR, realroads, etc.  or maybe being on that collaboration team or helping out in some other way.

Either way, its a mystery to me.  I'm sure we'll all be shocked when we find out what it's really for.

EDIT"Shocked, shocked...[linkie]"  No, just surprised at how the answer is hidden here in plain sight.  Another hint- there have been lists like this before. -DE

If I recall correctly, "Shocked, shocked!" was Capt. Renault's line in reference to the gambling at Rick's casino, just before receiving his winnings... But I can't imagine how Casablanca could relate to this list... (But I am on it, so that must mean something, right?)

Lets see here...

Some of my possibly relevant stats...
[  ]  3RR Team Member
[X]  3RR Regular
[X]  Double-0 Club
[X]  Volunteered for testing of 3RR road/rail projects
[X]  Posted pictures of problems with developing 3RR road/rail projects
[X]  Guessed in a view-count contest
[X]  Currently have, or once had, a CJ/MD (in my case, had)
[X]  Responded to SC4-related questions elsewhere in the forum
[X]  On that list

Could it be a list of people who've posted multiple times in the 3RR thread? 'Cause I don't know how many times I've posted here, but it's certainly more than five, and probably more than ten...
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Glory be unto the modder and unto the fun and unto the city game!

Korot

No, that one has already been discarded, since I'm on the list.

All 3RR regulars who haven't volunteered? Don't think so.
All 3RR regulars who have made the first post on a page? More likely to be 206 than a list with only those having made the first post on every fifth page.
All volunteers + fact checkers? Ergo: All members of the 3RR group?

Korot

dragonshardz

A list of all those owed at least one Double-0 Honor, I believe.

Hmm...possibly, but then Korot has not, to my knowledge, made of those momentous posts...

3RR Fact Checkers?

Nope, I'm not one.

3RR Regulars with MD/CJs? Maybe.

I admit it, I'm stumped.

The only thing gambling related in 3RR is all the guesses as when certain milestones, like when double-0 posts, would be achieved?

I think I guessed in one of those, I can't remember.

Don't have an MD/CJ, so that's not it.

Not it either, someone else already came along, saying that he didn't guess in one of those contests.

And I can't think of something else right now. Anyone interested in reading through all pages of 3RR to find out? I'm not going to, been there, done that, and it took me a long time. Time I'd now rather spend on playing SC4, then on reading it again.

EDITI'm going to show up to help in just a few minutes, folks.  Don't get frustrated- this is supposed to be fun.  Lots of great guesses, but the answer is probably too straighforward to feel right. -DE

metarvo

I've noticed that David himself is not on the list, so that must mean it's something he hasn't participated in or done.  So, this means that the list couldn't have anything to do with one making more than one post here, as David has made many, many posts in 3RR.  It couldn't be the collaboration, either, since David would be a part of that, right?  I do remember David himself making a Double-0 post once, but he declined the usual honors that go along with ringing the bell.  Still, a Double-0 is a Double-0, so I'm pretty sure that's not the purpose for the list, either.

We already had all people who posted here at least once, all those who posted here at SC4D at least once, lurkers can't be counted. All people who've posted on a no lurkers day?

OK, I'm having wayyyyyy too much fun here.

Some of you might recall that 3RR's 2009 season came to a more or less abrupt halt about ten days into November, when a combination of RL events left me not in a position to post for almost two months.  There were, as a result, several things left undone, like our half-million page views contest, and other things not happening at all.  One of those was our annual end of the year roundup of the 3RR Regulars* who posted here over the preceeding 12 months.  We did this for 2008 [linkie] and for 2007 plus the few days of December, 2006 [linkie] after 3RR was launched here at SC4D.

So, in 2009, there were 206 folks (plus me, of course) who made the 2,972 posts for the year, from the first one of the day I made on January 1, 2009, to the last of the year by our friend castironpigeon on December 28th.  A couple made just one, but that's a subject for another day.  That's an average, ignoring my contributions, of about 13 posts per Regular.  I'm forever impressed, in any event.  You all have been and remain the best!

So since I've more or less 'fessed up the answer that's had everyone stumped, let's get to the first real contest of the year.  We've never done this one before, but I think as we head into our fourth full calendar year, there's some justification.

The following table contains the avatars of 53 very special 3RR Regulars (not that all of you aren't special, mind) who all share a common accomplishment.  The first task is to figure out who they are, as I sneakily substituted question marks for most of their nics.  The second is to figure out... well, the title of the table says it all.

Don't overanalyze this- once again, the answer is very straightforward.  Thinking about what we've been talking about earlier in this post should set you on the right track.

Off to the pixel mines, and to work on a long-overdue 3RR honors post.

David

* How could you have already forgotten that a 3RR Regular is anyone who has ever posted here, over at 3RR-ST or on the 3RR Blog at least once?  Sheesh!

First we do the names, and latter we think of a why, though I've added a couple already.
Shadow Assassin, for making a mod I presume.
Calabratuire, forgiving any spelling mistakes.
I remember having seen it a couple of times, but it rings no bells this time.
Schulmanator, I guess he was one of the first 3RR regulars.
Wounagaine, he made some tools you use, or was someone who thought you something.
Wild ass guess: Jeronij? I think for being the site owner.
Jaquilina, for being a very frequent 3RR regular, at least at ST.
Gaston
JPlumby, as the avatar nicely states. Wasn't he the guy who is making the FAB's?
Andreas, I guess for being a staff member.
Rayden, as the avatar nicely states.
PatFireFighter?
FrankU, he won one of the guessing contests.
Swamper
Livin in Sim, for her good advice?
The Tea Cat, for his always funny comments?

Though, I think that the reason for all of them for being here is for having made a double-0-club posts during 2009.

Regards,
Korot

To correct Korot, that first avatar is Fred (freedo50), and the one you said was Jan (Swamper77) is Daniel (Shadow Assassin).

And, no I don't think it is the double-0 club, because I made post 9100  in '09. Otherwise I have no clue what it is for. David, you need to stop playing these games with us!

I recognise most of them but it's hard to put a name to some of them.

Other than ones already mentioned i think these are right... (correct me if i'm wrong)
