So, what, is it just a list of everyone who's posted in 3RR in the past year? ()what()

EDITNow, I thought we sorted that out- last night's list was everyone who has posted at 3RR during the past year (2009).  The 53 folks in the contest are a subset of that list, but they all have done something (the same thing) in common. -DE
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Here's what I have:

- girlfromverona
- Badsim
- JoeST
- Bishop Hawke
- Kimcar
- Ryan B.
- dragonshardz
- bat
- thundercrack83

I can't really connect them to anything, other than 3RR.

EDITWell, that's a start, connection-wise. -DE
Find my power line BAT thread here.
Check out the Noro Cooperative.  What are you waiting for?  It even has electricity.

...flipping, flipping...

Sheesh, David. I've been looking through page after page. There's just too many pages...
Also, David. I've noticed you've been on the board pretty much all day, are you just hovering until someone gets the answer?

Ethan

EDITHovering?  Nope, just making Valentine's dinner for my sweetie.  She has a med procedure Monday, so can't eat tomorrow night.  Like the old saying goes, eat those steaks and potatoes today, for tomorrow we may die.  Kinda morbid, but anyway- that's what I'm doing.

Actually, this is kind of like old times.  Some days we'd get 25+ comments, and I'd post four or five times.  As for today, I've been working on some RealRoads textures and that honors post I mentioned, but it has been pretty active- we're well over 1,000 views and could pass 1,500. It feels good to me, in any event
. -DE

LordTaalik

Wow, that's pretty difficult.
Just taking a wild stab here...

Is it everyone who's posted at least once during each of the three years (in addition to the end of December 2006) in 3RR?  &mmm

-Jem/LordTaalik

mightygoose

every regular that posted on both sites? but then i would be on the list, collaborators, no i would be on the list, regulars with MD's in best sellers, no i owuld be on the list.... the fact i'm not on the list has me utterly stumped....

must be 00 winners or fact checkers...
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

STOP THE PRESSES!  We have a (partial) winner!

QuoteIs it everyone who's posted at least once during each of the three years (in addition to the end of December 2006) in 3RR?

Our friend Jem (LordTaalik) was a little tentative, but he's got that part exactly right.  The 53 folks listed in the chart have posted at least once during each of the three calendar years that 3RR has been in business here at SC4D.  The "regularest" of the Regulars, so to speak.  So, big congrats for spotting that- I'll get the chart updated with the correct guesses so far, and you can puzzle over those last few pesky avatars.

UPDATE:  The updated chart:

Boy that just feels odd... a competition in 3RR and I completely miss it? 12 hours though, seems like a good turnaround for it though. Thanks for doing it David. It's good to see things are settling down for you; well, as much as you'll let them. I'm still trying to figure out where you find all this time. Glad to see you're still finding it though.

So, with this contest in our rearview mirror, lets all take a trip out R-8 to tiny Iona

and pay a visit to

the J&J Roadhouse.  Roadhouses are a 3RR tradition of long standing.  The original roads were little more than rude dirt tracks, and the "South River" road, which went from the Wind River ferry landing south of Pineshore through Ellsworth and Iona out to Boissevain, was one of the worst.  Roadhouses like "The Jays," as it is called by locals, provided a meal, a drink for those so inclined, shelter from storms, and even bare-bones overnight accommodations when darkness halted the journey for the day.

Today, the Jays just serves food - it is Iona's sole remaining business, but it does well based on a reputation for excellence in service to its patrons stretching back over 150 years.  Modern R-8 makes getting there a snap, and most nights of the week you need reservations for dinner.

The J&J Roadhouse.  Note the excellent choice of ale in the window.

Good plain food, and plenty of it.

Local, er... color.

Everyone leaves happy.

One of our 3RR Regulars*, Transit God (there seems to be a lot of those here, eh?) Ryan (choco) has a birthday today.  Our best wishes to our friend for a great day today.  Thanks, too, for all those outstanding bridges.

Oh, and Happy St. Valentine's Day to all.  3RR 's you!

David

* Like Ryan, you too can be a 3RR Regular after you post here just once- what are you waiting for?

551285 - over 1,500 page views yesterday, which is on par with our best days last fall.  Thanks for your incredible support of 3RR.

too bad I missed the avatar guessing contest. I like the picture of the outside of the building, with the hanging icecicles, especially since it reminds me of how the cars look around here nowadays.

*heads of to "the happy birthday thread" to wish choco a happy bithday*

I'm just guessing, looking at that photo of the bartender, that the riff raff is dealt with swiftly and efficiently?

Now I'm hungry.

Looks like a great place to stop for a bite and a (nice cold Canadian) beverage, David!  I'd ask if they're looking for cooks, but I'm really not in any mood to return to winter anytime soon.
