Occupant Groups and Occupant Types

Occupant Groups

Every building exemplar and every automata exemplar (pedestrians and vehicles) must have the property OccupantGroups.
A few prop exemplars also have the property OccupantGroups.

That's a property that in essence tells what kind of a building, automata or prop it is and how it will function in game.
For buildings it also tells where in the menus a ploppable building will appear, and is also used for automata spawning.

The OccupantGroups can contain several values, and must contain at least one.

This post concentrates on Occupant Groups for Building Exemplars.

The OccupantGroups used in automata exemplars are listed in the subsequent post below.

For BTE (BSC Tracking Enabled) buildings a number of additional OccupantGroups have been defined.
Some of these are listed in the thread CAMeLot Counter and Occupant Groups.






Occupant Types

The property Occupant Types is required by all buildings having RCI Capacities, both RCI growables and functional ploppables.
The property Occupant Type must match the RCI Occupant Type as set in the property OccupantGroups (see above).

Buildings that are allowed to dilapidate will have more than one Occupant Type, but only one RCI Occupant Type in the OccupantGroups.
E.g. R§§§ buildings have RCI Occupant Type 0x11030 in the OccupantGroups, but Occupant Types 0x1010, 0x1020 and 0x1030.
