Title: 9988's MD's
Post by: Dai9988 on May 31, 2011, 12:23:03 PM
Recreation of Slovakia, Small, but Scenic Country.

The Slovakia - Recreation

So, I decided to stop for a while(about one month) with Optimia Magna, what can be found on Simtropolis, and try something different. Something quite less historical and roadless. Of course, I needed to clean my old plugin set, and download about three gigabytes of modern civic stuff. It took me days to find the right files, I checked anything on LEX and most of STEX, to find things what suit to the recreation of Slovakia. Of course, many buildings in Slovakia are not there downloadable, so I used Sketchup models rendered and exported in BAT, like Saint's Martin Dome, what can be seen on the image below. This is a
recreation of Slovakia, small country in the center of Europe, where the Carpathian mountain range meets Pannonian Basin, surrounded by Hungary, Czech Republic, Austria and Poland. But why Slovakia? Because I live there, I know it, and so I can recreate it much easier(like recreating view from your window). Of course, I am not going to recreate whole country, because:
1.The Map would be rendered weeks
2.The Map would be covered by trees weeks
3.There are about 5000 villages and 200 cities in Slovakia, and making them would take months.
4.Most of it will be unusable and not interesting, and most tiles of that map will be only hills with trees.
5.For that it is almost impossible.
6.And it can be made much easier and better way.
So, I will recreate only parts of Slovakia that will be used there, like most interesting parts of cities, nature, and similar things. I will also use much more photoediting than in The Optimia Magna. Like original Slovak Billboards, and similar.
Author's note: Over 25% of American people think that there is still Czechoslovakia. If you are in this 25%, you should know that Czechoslovakia split in year 1993. Not talking about billions of these who even don't know that there is something like Slovakia, or even Europe.
The Slovakia is located in the center of the Europe, this map shows where exactly:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg695.imageshack.us%2Fimg695%2F3604%2Fslovakiamap.jpg&hash=8cf80b3334d029ab2b9a3d2b963a4941d9b69a3e)
Slovakia is divided to four main parts, western region, northern, southern and eastern region. The western part is most known, because of capital city Bratislava, also with Northern, for the High Tatras, highest mountains in the Central Europe. For that, I will concentrate mainly on these two parts, but the remaining two are also worth visiting. Slovakia has also more than 20 major officially visitable caves, one of them being aragonite - world rarity, and about 1000 another caves. It has also very rich thermal water reservoirs, mostly on the south.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg710.imageshack.us%2Fimg710%2F6629%2Fpicturesn.jpg&hash=c20b06f523b3d54b5c974399c99d49bf1c211f67)
Some things that you probably didn't know about Slovakia:
1.Andy Warhol's parents born in Slovakia.
2.Eugen Cernan, last man on the Moon is also Slovak emmigrant.
3.On the south of Slovakia is the most quality water in whole Europe.
4.We have been part of more than 14 different nations through the history(from roman empire and pribina's principality to slovak national socialist state and socialist czechoslovakia).
5.We once declared war to USA.
We now are beginning our journey to the Slovakia.
The Capital of the Slovakia is Bratislava, located just near the Vienna, on the far southwest of Slovakia. It is very old city, just near can be found ancient roman forts and settlements. It has been usually most important city in the Slovakia, and very important city in Greater Hungary, where even the empress Maria Theresia was crowned. The most known buildings in the city is the Castle of Bratislava, the New bridge through Danube built in 1960, but with surprisingly futuristic design, or the Cathedral of Saint Martin, what can be also seen on the image below, what has been teaser in previous entry, along with the part of historical city just near the Danube and Castle hill.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg848.imageshack.us%2Fimg848%2F3420%2Fbratislava.jpg&hash=b5a4882251680b07ae9c544e049bd333c7343000)
Another popular part of Slovakia, as said before, is The High Tatras mountain range. It is very small, only about 200 square kilometers, but it contain hundreds of beautiful sharp mountains and peaks, with endemic fauna and flora, and well known popular ski resorts.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg143.imageshack.us%2Fimg143%2F9009%2Fhightatra.jpg&hash=ce6aa1344902fb030e93d12da88f7bbac5de2310)
Although the Slovakia is modern country, one of the most modern in central Europe, the sheeps are still traditionally grazed by shepherds in many places on the north of Slovakia, not talking about many traditional craftsmen.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg834.imageshack.us%2Fimg834%2F5416%2Ffarmsx.jpg&hash=5fa5a8089b9883baa655efb45de940ab8d819d1f)
The nature of Slovakia is also beautiful at many places, with many waterfalls, caves, mountain lakes, and rare flora and fauna.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F7705%2Fnatureb.jpg&hash=902e4ea78b156de232636754a24a9cad65ed19e3)
But, as every state, Slovakia has also its darker sides. Dirty industries are polluting villages and nature, criminality is also quite high there, and numerous Roma community lives in cardboard slums or devastated tenements, with ground covered with garbage. Lunik 9 is most known example of this, and it is located only about one mile from ice hockey stadium where the part of world cup was recently held.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg812.imageshack.us%2Fimg812%2F3061%2Flunik.jpg&hash=9b4e3086b9857b30f444aaf5dc0a7e11769792f6)
Hope you enjoyed it. If you enjoyed it, please comment! More coming soon.

Welcome to the exciting world of SC4D Mayors' Diaries, Dai9988. Those are some nice maps and interesting photos you've posted. It looks like you have everything under control except for one small detail...

Our rules for MD Authors which you can read here (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=5195.msg164786#msg164786) require that you change your .png pictures to .jpeg. It is very easy to do, and if you don't know how, just send me a PM and I'll be glad to help you.

Good luck with your new MD...

Tomas Neto: Thanks! Hope next updates will be also good.
noahclem: Also thanks!

Terring7: Thanks (but I think you may saw this MD earlier on ST)
Jmouse: Okay, it was solved. Thank you!

Slovakia, as most of states in the Europe has quite rich history. From first Celtic tribes, to roman villages, Great Morave, Greater Hungary,
Two world wars... Changed Slovakia greatly. Let's take a short tour to the history of Slovakia.
First great territory on the lands of Slovakia was Principality of Great Morave, also known as Svatopluk's Empire. It covered major part of central
Europe, and was one of the most important early medieval European states.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg683.imageshack.us%2Fimg683%2F6884%2F15503046.jpg&hash=7fcea2cc47388a3cd77c2d5445e2d551707c9048)
As time fled, Slovakia joined The Greater Hungary, for more than 900 years. The Medieval age, Reinassance fled, and many cities were built. The
Bratislava was this time very important city, one of the most important in whole Kingdom.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg850.imageshack.us%2Fimg850%2F7734%2F43443504.jpg&hash=5c7ae367cf57539b968ac230019b3b1f4a6bbf5e)
After the World War I, when Greater Hungary split to many other states, Slovakia joined state Czechoslovakia, with Czech nation. But, the
second world war after that split the state again to two, Czech part was occupied by Germany, and Slovakia became puppet state. But, Slovakia
was almost unaffected by war in this state, and its inhabitants lived safe and happy lives.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg854.imageshack.us%2Fimg854%2F7214%2F55719048.jpg&hash=4f25afbb128f2e6d181c778a74e5cec0e57c5232)
Soon, the Germany was defeated and Socialists took over newly formed Czechoslovakia. But, in year 1968. Slovakia revolted against Communist totality.
The Soviet army marched to the Slovak territories, and occupied them, to ensure safety. After that, they left, but it is very discussed moment in
Slovak history, considered very inadequate and unfair.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg862.imageshack.us%2Fimg862%2F5221%2F43247013.jpg&hash=fd5b8c4adc993ee295a61975f7932e80c286f8d7)
To the year 1989, Slovakia was part of Socialist Czechoslovakia, greatly influenced by the Soviet Union.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg37.imageshack.us%2Fimg37%2F2490%2F80501748.jpg&hash=e6b9fb07a3e18d8ad3c6e88542a1f36143f16013)
After that, the Socialism fell, and Czechoslovakia soon split. The Slovakia was becoming more economically and technologically advanced afterwards, and finally in year 2004 it joined European Union and the present ages begun. Our journey to the history ended, hope you enjoyed it.

So, after introductions, we can finally start. At first, we will look on Bratislava, mostly on historical part.
Bratislava is the largest city in The Slovakia, with about 500.000 inhabitants. It is generally most visited destination in whole country.
The most known dominant of the city is The Castle of Bratislava, its historical look can be seen on the image below. Now it is completely rebuilt and
renovated, its current look can be seen on theT "newspaper on update before.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg651.imageshack.us%2Fimg651%2F544%2Fhistoryj.jpg&hash=2bfe948b54dd07960c1224d0d7e6360e39bf5ebc)
The Old city of Bratislava is beautiful at many places, like this near Hviezdoslav's square.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg856.imageshack.us%2Fimg856%2F1792%2Fhistoricalcity.jpg&hash=4b51069d92a09586869d3fcd354f138f5e5f71a8)
Or the square itself, one of the largest squares in Bratislava, also known for its markets.

The Slovak Parliament is also located in Bratislava, along with supreme court and presidential palace. It is located just near the castle.

As a bonus, I present the mosaic of river Danube, what flows through the city, and separates Petrzalka from the rest of Bratislava.

peter007: Thanks! Hope this update will be also great.
art128: The Pizza hut building is really in Bratislava :-\  . Also thanks!
bat:Again, thanks!

So, let's continue with Bratislava. One of the most popular and important streets in the city is the "Shopping street", located close to the castle and
another main parts of the city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg3.imageshack.us%2Fimg3%2F6113%2Fobchodna.jpg&hash=7cb582c09d4a9cf768441beba2da1f00504eab33)
The Slavin Monument can be perfectly seen from the street, it was built as a memorial for fallen Soviet soldiers what liberated Slovakia from Germany.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg849.imageshack.us%2Fimg849%2F1291%2Fslavin.jpg&hash=5e7756a50f5410b53e889060034b921ff4b54d6c)
About one mile to the northeast is located The Blumental church, one of the many churches in the city. It is one of the most beautiful, and also well known church, located in the semi-modern part of the city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg857.imageshack.us%2Fimg857%2F4944%2Fblumental.jpg&hash=3df88c203c4979732c000a7f8f3206761a0373c9)
The Petrzalka, part of city on further south is home to many modern and high buildings, corporations, and almost omnipresent tenements, being largest part of the city.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg847.imageshack.us%2Fimg847%2F6822%2Foffices.jpg&hash=7251c18157633dcdb6b7787e94b100084e90058a)
There are together five bridges what connect Petrzalka with rest of the city, largest and most important being the New Bridge, other are Old Bridge, Apollo, Lafranconi and Harbor bridge. The city has also very long riverside promenade, where are two major building complexes, River Park and Eurovea.
The riverside has about 8 kilometers.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg829.imageshack.us%2Fimg829%2F4438%2Friversidey.jpg&hash=22b811379f02b49118ea6f4161ecc218649cf5eb)
Just near the Eurovea is located highest "skyscraper" in Slovakia, 115 meters high Tower 115, owned by J&T and Tv JOJ, one of the most popular Slovak private televisions.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg21.imageshack.us%2Fimg21%2F1390%2Ftower115.jpg&hash=81f52eaeb89c2ccbc4b1fb574edc8282cf249e30)
We are now leaving The Bratislava. Hope you had great time there. The last picture what I will present is the pic of Old Bridge, the first modern bridge build on the Danube.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg37.imageshack.us%2Fimg37%2F9269%2Foldbridge.jpg&hash=88b71f7363bf02ece2a206d9e02ccde3ee739a53)

So, let's revive this MD and start with the new update. Devinska nova Ves is small city, often considered part or suburb of the Bratislava.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg24.imageshack.us%2Fimg24%2F1262%2Fdevinzirou.jpg&hash=1343d23b3fbfcda4b10e6becd00f4435017ec721)
It is not very visited, but many inhabitants of Bratislava have gardens there, and most of people there travel everyday to work to Bratislava.

Post by: Dai9988 on January 03, 2012, 08:57:28 AM
Greater Morsco is major country located on planet Adonia, being one of the most technologically advanced and influential nations on the planet. It covers more than 600,000 square kilometers of land, compromising many great cities and natural wonders, from magnificent metropolis of Magna Auridia and beautiful historical city of El Thullia, to industrial Corpore Aurum and seaside city of Ursus, from beautiful sceneries and peaks of Rozhetean Mountains, to plains, fields, and forests on the southwest. Let's begin in El Thullia, one of the greatest cities in entire Greater Morsco. El Thullia is undoubdetly one of the most scenic and beautiful cities in the country. It is located about 430 kilometers on the south from the capital, Magna Auridia. City has huge historical and old city center, covering about 50% of the city itself, if we also count parts of city built in the first half of 20.th century as parts of historical. About 15% of the city is covered by historical city built in 19, 18 and 17.th century. It is also known for famous markets and carnival held in the city.

One of the largest squares in the city is the Orsque Square, famous for its Golden Chapel, built in 1744. The square covers area of 3 hectars, and major metro network junction is located there. Building on the upper side is famous Hospital from late 19.th century and building on the lower side is called "Orsque Palace"

Just near the square is located Moritia Road, known as popular shopping area and promenade. It leads from the City Hall to the West Market and museum.

The City Hall is located on the eastern side of Old city, close to the northern Morsca river. It is beautiful building, and just behind it lie great Gardens of Thullia.

Your MD is simply inspiring as you produce such an authentic recreation of a Middle European country, that was first socialist and nowadays the spaces between the prefabs are filled with austrian supermarkets, american fast food chains etc.
GREAT!

Now, let's stop for a while with Slovakia, and look on the Danube River. It is very important for Slovakia, because of transportation, natural fertile land gained, and also recreation, what Danube provides. Because it is special update, I will not focus on Slovakia. The river Danube begins in Germany, in Schwarzwald as a small stream, and after that small river.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg163.imageshack.us%2Fimg163%2F4118%2Fdanubios.jpg&hash=8de26d032bd779ed4f706b2567e544c9a84578ea)
It flows as a small river through land of Germany, joining many other rivers, and growing in size.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg718.imageshack.us%2Fimg718%2F4122%2Fdanubiosvillagos.jpg&hash=d7fdee007176ba5fba7323dd366c7c35caaeeee5)
After that, it comes through grand Vienna, beautiful historical city just near Bratislava.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg109.imageshack.us%2Fimg109%2F2253%2Fvianna.jpg&hash=7bfae240f51fa719da844390524f20b768fdb615)
Just near the Bratislava, there are many lowland swamp forests near the Danube, with many rare animals and plants present.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg515.imageshack.us%2Fimg515%2F48%2Fswampert.jpg&hash=2b1126a9924caf34452a0ea408fbfd277dce0674)
Further to the southeast, many farms and artificial lakes are located close to the river. One of them is also minor lake Nove Kosariska, with many houses and gardens along the coast
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg339.imageshack.us%2Fimg339%2F5642%2Fnovekosariska.jpg&hash=58ff332e6b464a0f311b4ebe24ba7dcca9b68721)
Last picture there will be city of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, known for its massive, beautiful parliament. We will not go further, because, of course, we are going to return back to the Slovakia and continue on the further east.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg824.imageshack.us%2Fimg824%2F4816%2Fbudimpesta.jpg&hash=b9e672a9d613076687c6d9535f2278feca3c45e0)

Thanks to you all for commenting!
So, now let's go further to the west, to look to another regions of Slovakia, and two major cities there, Nitra and Trnava.
Bratislava is connected with Nitra by highway D1, largest in Slovakia.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg818.imageshack.us%2Fimg818%2F4278%2Fhighways.jpg&hash=f7a3ff4be6cb4551d6d5736f8504e3b8c117298c)
The Trnava is not large city. In the center is located Church of saint Mikulas.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg85.imageshack.us%2Fimg85%2F4044%2Ftrnavag.jpg&hash=f5c90c16bf287f8be5d6a9e2c4ddafeea487ab02)
After short visit, we transfer to Nitra, another regional city of Slovakia. There is also huge amount of old socialist tenements, with city parts
entirely composed of them.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg192.imageshack.us%2Fimg192%2F2023%2Fnitratenements.jpg&hash=d9d5c71805ab8f85603e93eb4a6ea3baa66e12ef)
Although they are very old now, most of them have been entirely renovated.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg513.imageshack.us%2Fimg513%2F9286%2Fnitram.jpg&hash=40b4e8e824e7264dacef92ca4bb53f6f2523dbca)
Before 30 years, concrete tenements were built in all cities of Slovakia, often after destroying many beautiful historical buildings.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg534.imageshack.us%2Fimg534%2F4467%2Fsocialismj.jpg&hash=b3c96a7182eb4e36923e30da9819d4c92d4e5d24)
But, there are also many family houses with gardens, mostly built on the Zobor hill where is television tower.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg97.imageshack.us%2Fimg97%2F6910%2Fzobor.jpg&hash=a34a81757913112cd17b5385d4119e86babac484)

OK, you had my attention from day one.

I've lurked here since and see lots of fine potential.  You have really nice PhotoShop skills, and there is a uniform high quality to your graphics that is really easy on the eyes.  As for your pics, I like the waterline your river's edge rocks show in "The Budapest" in the January 8th update.  It will be a pleasure to see where you head with Slovakia.

But in the centre of Trnava I think you could use corner tenements.

Slovakia - The Low Tatras
Thanks to everyone who commented!
WhatevermindIt is Budapest Parliament building, it can be downloaded on LEX.

So, after the introduction and teaser update, we can continue to the full update. We will now look on the Mountains of Nizke Tatry. They are second highest mountains in Slovakia, with highest peaks Dumbier and Chopok(what is much more visited). There is also located one of the largest Slovak ski resort - Chopok Jasna.
One of the not many lakes there and largest lake in the Low Tatras is lake of Vrbice. It is medium sized lake, what is only sometimes visited by tourists.

It is located on northern hillside of mount Chopok, second largest peak in low tatras. It has more than 5 major chairlifts and over 20 skiing ways.

Slovakia - High Tatras, part I
So, after visiting entire southwestern and central part of the Slovakia, let's advance to the second part of this MD. As in the first part, we will begin with two part update on the one of most popular and visited areas of the country. In first part it was city of Bratislava, now it will be area on the north from Low Tatras, the High Tatras, where is located highest point of Carpathian mountain range, Mount Gerlachovski, 2.655 m above sea level.
On this minor map, places of the areas shown in the last 5 updates can be seen.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg838.imageshack.us%2Fimg838%2F3152%2Fmappus.png&hash=a23b3e767d40b1e12b67c4e19c5369cf9b790aa2)
There are many areas and valleys with beautiful nature in high Tatras, through many of them are flowing mountain streams, including rivers White and Black Vah.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg205.imageshack.us%2Fimg205%2F208%2Fstreamw.jpg&hash=259f7a85d7a04d30d4b7fcf460913167b686567a)
Second highest peak in High Tatras, Mount Lomnica, is one of the not many peaks there with Cable car leading to the top. This cable car was a world rarity when built before many decades, and now it is still frequently used.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg69.imageshack.us%2Fimg69%2F1060%2Fchairlift.jpg&hash=c6574fdd0496379caa0c88681d9b0febe31b4801)
On the higher parts of the mountains, when not covered by snow, they are covered by rocks, grass, and typical flora of High Tatras.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg717.imageshack.us%2Fimg717%2F931%2Ftatrag.jpg&hash=6876066d545643407b78038a63dd212a7dcff688)
Second largest natural lake in Slovakia and most beautiful one is Strbske Pleso, located in the most visited area in the mountains, with many hotels and tourist attractions. But there is still beautiful nature...
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg838.imageshack.us%2Fimg838%2F9908%2Fstrba.jpg&hash=b93ec79dee8228eadcf471a9a48495d0f9a520b2)

Slovakia - High Tatras Part II
After first update about the area of High Tatras, let's continue further. The High Tatras, as said before, is one of the most visited and popular areas in Slovakia, with beautiful mountainous nature and landscape.
There are also located large ski resorts Stary Smokovec and Tatranska Lomnica. Lomnica is the larger and more visited one, and is also located on the mountainside of magnificent Mount Lomnica, second highest peak of High Tatras.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg714.imageshack.us%2Fimg714%2F3283%2Flomnica.jpg&hash=b5366669c423f885aeae765e1446288a2a59eb5d)
In the entire High Tatras, there are located many mountain lakes, what were created by glaciers at the end of last Ice Age. Areas near them are very visited, Strbske Pleso is also one of them. They have incredibly clear water and they are often frozen in winter.

Eastern part of High Tatras is lower than central part, and also less visited one. But there are still many beautiful landscapes and areas, mainly in winter.

On the far east of High Tatras, where it meets lower areas in Orave, are located many valleys, mixed and deciduous forests, and also many beautiful streams and river springs.

And finally, real life image of the magnificent rocky and icy mountains of the High Tatras.

Fantastic update.
I really like the mix of RL pics and ingame ones.  I can really see where you find your inspiration.

Great job with the last two updates!  &apls  I've been a big fan of your MD for some time and I'm not sure how I missed the last update. You have a unique style with MMPs, as well as photoshopping, that gives your MD a character of its own and makes it an enjoyable place to visit. I also like the variety of winter stuff you use, from the frozen stream to the different types of ski lifts.

Looking forward to more

Wow! Incredible work!  &apls Great to see Tatras recreated in SimCity, with such details andd quality.
I also try to base on them and your work is a great "technical" inspiration for me!
Could you said, where did you get those all rocks from?  ::)

Tatras are the most beautiful mountains  ;)
Greetz!

Slovakia - Nature of Slovakia II
So, after the new set of Tatran updates, let's have another special on overall Slovak Nature. In this update, we will look on natural areas from the far north of Orave, to the far south, near river Little Danube. And, of course, because Easter will be very soon, if you look carefully, you will see one illogical "Easter Egg" there (I was just bored).
So, at first let's begin close to the High Tatras, in the area of western Low Tatras. There are still located many forests, but many of them will be not there after few decades.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg850.imageshack.us%2Fimg850%2F5962%2F18801110.jpg&hash=c9852ecfc48a23fd91d8e076d11c62fd23ee9baf)
Between the Low and High tatras is located one of the largest Slovak lakes, but this is artificial, created by the water dam. It is called Liptovska Mara and is popular bathing and sunbathing area, one of the most popular on the north.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg545.imageshack.us%2Fimg545%2F5329%2F71007739.jpg&hash=d8c2d513817abe5619fd907918d643ae364c269f)
More to the south, southern than Low Tatras is located Central Slovakia, with many wheat fields and forests.

And now, only for one image, let's look again on the Southern Slovakia. There is also located branching river of Danube, Little Danube, what is creating huge island Zitny Ostrov. The river flows across many floodplain lowland forests.

And at the end of this update, I present you picture of the one of many pastures on the Orave, the northest area of Slovakia, hilly, and with colder climate.
