I've already got a site reserved in my capital for when this beauty hits the LEX. Great work!  &apls &apls

Looks wonderful. What do you plan on doing about the gardens?
I find that alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities, can bring about all the effects of drunkenness.

Thanks a lot for your comments!  :)

Arthur: Many thanks for your offer. If you get a chance, It'd be very helpful if you could get some shots from these facades which are very hard to find on the net:

Lars: The problem is not so much the cupula as the drum below it. I'm having a hard time calculating the proportions, angle and torsion of its elements. With a circular plan its a pretty simple formula, but with the elliptical one it gets a lot harder. Now I wish I had payed more attention to my analytic geometry classes  ::)

Toxicpiano: I had originally asked D66 to help me with them, but since she's not around I guess I'll have to take a try on them myself. My plan is to make the gardens only until L'Allée de l'Eté. But what worries me most is the orangerie, as it is carved below the ground level of the Château, so it will require a little more ingenuity.

Ouh, yes, analytic geometry... A bell is ringing somewhere  :D
Indeed ellipses and especially ellipsoids are tough bitches to calculate. I'm not that well versed calculating them, too (not at all to be honest)... Hm... Been trying to find out some specs, but I wasn't that succesfull. All I found out were two more or less exact angles. Dunno if it is of help for you, but still:

DebussyMan

Thank you, Lars, that diagram will sure be helpful  :)

Meanwhile, here's a little teaser. Reminds me I gotta get a larger light rig:

Once more the progress on Versailles looks terrific!
And I'm glad if my plan can provide you some help, even though it's not much. Best of luck with the dome (and with Versailles too, of course! )  ;)

Sadly no news from Versailles. However, in my break today I tickled on a new Berlin W2W, based on a building which was located on Friedrichstrasse with Französische Strasse, across my previously released "Haus Faber", designed by Kayser & von Grossheim for the "Germania" insurance company.
