What's with the installers?
« on: January 08, 2013, 09:04:55 PM »
I was adding a bunch of great buildings from the LEX the other day, but having to run all the installers made it take forever.

What happened to the good old quick zip method?

Nothing happened to it.  It's just that many creators prefer to use installer packages, so they can avoid "where do I install this?" questions.  Additionally, it also means that assets will generally be installed in the same place for many users, simplifying tech support.  Some files must be installed in a certain way as well, and having an installer helps mitigate the potential for user error in those cases.
