Do we actually need a sequel to this game?
Fantastic work!

I want to buy a new computer to properly play with SC4.  I wouldn't bother buying any sequel that would exclude my use of our community's custom content.

Belated Happy Birthday.  Life starts at 50, yea?   :satisfied:

Hi my friends , time to thank you for the birthday wishes , although birthdays aren't something I care particularly , mine included ,( ... I'm used to be blamed by my family and friends for that ...  ::) ) ; it has been a hard day of work among others , no more and no less !  :P

Then  it's time to give you some news as a new « SC4 season » should have theoretically started for me , officially on vacations from the 30 of September but having  already enough free time to play SC4 ... except that , like many others , I finally experienced an HDD crash - in June - and , since , I'm using an old laptop from a friend of mine just to keep on  a minimal and necessary Internet activity . I bought my first computer in 1995 , rather by curiosity , knowing not what I'm going to do with it ... 17 years later the loss of a computer is a trauma  ! Well ,  as my computer was an « old » one ( 6 y.o. ) running XP , I'm going to buy a new computer before the end of this month ( most probably , it will be an ACER Aspire X3995-006 ) . Fortunately , I've got several backups of all my SC4 works on 2 external disks , so ,  my main worry ( for the time being ) is to re-install properly SC4 and all its related MODding programs on a quad4/Windows7 system ... Up to there , I did not pay a particular attention on possible problems of compatibility/configuration , but I've heard of some and , as I'm far from being a computing specialist ,  I may need your help in a near future . Besides , having a lot of other programs to re-install  (and other precious private data , pictures , music , etc , to try to get back from my old HDD ) my comeback could be longer than expected , I really don't know how long it's gonna take while I still feel rather discouraged , but one thing is sure : I don't feel any attraction for that new  SimCity  not « solitary gardeners  friendly » at the horizon ... so I'll stay devoted to SC4  and its creative , selfless and unreplaceable community .

My apologies for having not replied to your latest posts and various questions by PMs after the latest update ... for the time being I do not have access to the programs allowing to collect these informations ... @ ggzagor ; I don't remember precisely about Heblem's Grassy Boulders ( and SC4ModelTweaker doesn't keep track of what you did ... ) , except that I drastically reduced them all but using a different factor  for each model ( various  factors between 0,20 /0,40 and maybe 0,5 for the 3 dimensions ) ... keep an original copy out of your Pugins and then  make your own tests and trust your eyes ! Furthemore , all kind of sizes of boulders being visible in RL , that's also a question of personal need and taste ...

That said , I would recommend you to post any request here in the future ( considering my great age , I'm not sure at all to be able to handle  any form of  scattering  anymore ...  :D )

Best regards .

Cédric .

Cédric, nothing could delight me more than to know you're coming back to us. At times, my head told me to expect the worst, but my heart told me your commitment to AntigOne's Project is much too strong to be abandoned.

So I'm awaiting your return with much anticipation now, and wishing you the best of luck as you get set back up again with a new system. It's a big job, but once it's done, I think you'll be pleased with the results.

Happy reloading... ;)

Hi Cédric,

I am glad you are back! Also: was it a trauma, this 50th birthday? Mine is due next year in july.... I guess I'll say then; "well, I am not even half way now." I have two small children and I'd like to see them grow up, so I intend to become at least a 120.
Never fear the coming of age. As a Dutch female writer (Yvonne Kroonenberg) replied after someone asked her: do you fear getting older; yes I do, but I'll do it anyway.
We can do nothing about it. And also the coming of age is also the coming of knowledge, ability of distinction between important and meaningless, and some other advantages that we will not yet reveal to the younger readers of this thread.

About the transition to a new computer: to me it also feels like a new home or a new desk. I can start with a fresh and clean place. It's the ultimalte moment to clean up your plugins.
I did not have one problemn with my transition from XP to Win7. The only thing was that SC4-pim did not work, but because of this thread the problem is gone now.

I wish you luck! And a very belated best wishes for the second part of your first century!

Badsim

Thank you my friends ( and thank you all for the > 200 000 views  ...  )

I'm currently improving an « old » scene from March 2011 with my brand new computer ( the old one repaired , improved , and running again , and a lot faster , since a few days !  :P ) ...

Well , these hairpin turns  are maybe not possible for the harvester , in fact I really don't know how they work in R.L. ...  ::)

I  also made  an inventory of  more than 230 missing pictures along the 107 pages of AntigOne , red crosses instead or those little funny vignettes from Imageshack saying « This file removed due to violation of Imageshack Terms of Service or by user request »  $%Grinno$% . I should re-upload them all soon , most of them are graphically outdated but they belong all to the same story : AntigOne .

I'm also downloading and studing some new stuff available since June . No suspense here , it will be another rural and sweet SC4 season ! ( L'amour est dans le pré , p'tit cœur !  ;D )

Stay tuned .

Cédric.
