It's Josh's 8th birthday today.  We adopted him when he was four.  His mom took drugs while she was pregnant- meth.

Josh is very, very special.

...you'd believe a boy could fly...

Yes, happy birthday. And I commend you David, for taking up the responsibility, a gesture that means a lot to me in a very, very cruel world.

I'm sure he's in great hands, and I wish you, him, and your wife the best of luck, smiles and happiness for the future. :)

Thank you for sharing. I hope that I too can someday give back to society in the way you do.

Josh said to say thanks to each and every one of you for the birthday wishes.  He asked me to invite you all to his birthday party next year- consider it done.

Here's another pic, this time on the trail of the "jolly old elf" himself.

Here's Jop, the eldest son. He's 7 now. And yes....contrary to some of my statements over at 3RR we did have had some snow this year. It lasted, well, one day but still long enough to make a snowman:

Hey belated happy birthday Josh!

Nik and David its great to see your children.

I would love to be able to show a picture of my son but unfortunatley I've ever only seen him twice. He's 22 now. His mum left and moved abroad before he was born and it was pure accident that we happened to be travelling on the same ship one day and we bumped into one another. Its a day I shall never forget.

So enjoy ever moment you can with your kids as every second is special and I've missed 693,792,000of them with mine ()sad().

All the best and by the way here's your tea lads :D

I couldn't head off to bed without posting a few pics of the very special young man I spent last week with in Texas.

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg62.imageshack.us%2Fimg62%2F9599%2Ftristen01pe8.jpg&hash=0ea419486b9caf95aa945d5c768548c16e755c26)

He's my 10 year old adoptive son Tristen- you've seen his eight year old brother Josh a ways back in this thread.  Tristen's mom used methamphetamine when she was pregnant.  Despite our best hopes (we adopted Tristen when he was six) he has spent the last 15 months in residence at a psychiatric hospital paying for the sins of one of his parents (the other was no prize, either).

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg379.imageshack.us%2Fimg379%2F1145%2Ftristen02vs9.jpg&hash=e0fa4d2070629ba3deb5e02df0b865c340820319)

Most of the time Tristo-man, as we call him, is just an ordinary kid.  He likes the same things other kids like, does the same things other kids do, and acts just like you'd expect a kid to act- like a kid!

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg413.imageshack.us%2Fimg413%2F1949%2Ftristen03zs9.jpg&hash=c20d0554f346f56e2b9a18601244cc99b392bb7f)

But then there are those other times- when Tristen reminds all of us who love him just how lucky we are, and how little control we really have over some things that can radically alter our circumstances.  Tristen will never, in his whole life, be considered "normal" (whatever "normal" is).

We don't care.  He's our boy, just like Josh.  And we'll do anything we can for him..

* * *

TTC- that's a great happy, yet sad story about your son.  You're exactly right about those seconds.  I hope you've been able to remain in touch with him.

Nik-Nik, what great pics of great kids.  Merijin... well- all of them, actually, could come over and terrorize my house anytime.  Thanks for sharing your wonderful family with us.

David

Thanks David.

Unfortunatley there has been no contact except for that one time, not thru' any fault of mine. His mother wanted no contact and it was pure luck that we did meet. Every letter, phone call etc was returned unopened. It didn't mean that I forgot about him but now have no idea where either his mother or my son is. Do you know, I don't even know his name (She left before he was born ()sad() ) as on that one occaision we did meet she refused to tell me his name so I can only call him My Son. She were a bit "crazy".

So go on make me jealous  ;) and have many happy days with your loved ones :D

Best wishes

Well now, I do believe this could be my favorite thread!  Wish I'd of thought of it.  So here's the closest people to my heart, my two daughters, who are both going to give me grandbabies before the end of the year.  Two year old pic, I've seemed to misplace the Wedding pics from Nov.

Here is a picture of my two boys.  Matias, the oldest and Nicholas.  Ages 16 months and 2 1/2 months.
Matias is always hugging and kissing Nicholas.  He actually gets angry when we don't let him.

We chose the name in order to sound good in Turkish as well as German (or English). That's why his second name is not the turkish male name  "Deniz" (turkish: the sea) but Dennis ... ;)

He was exactly 11 months and 3 days ago.

In 2005 - a year after we married - my wife got pregnant. We were so happy about it but then she had problems with the pregnancy, and finally we lost the child. Took me half an eternity especially since didn't become pregnant the following years and we really wanted to have children. All the tests were OK, but we are both much older than 17, and you know chances for natural fertilization are so low  - around 14-17%.

So we were just about to do in vitro fertilization when literally in the last moment my wife became pregnant.

I haven't seen my son now for more than a month. I am here in Germany to look for anew job while my wife and my child are still in Turkey.
But finding a job isn't easy these ...

Boy do I miss my short one!

This little guy is hands down the best thing I've ever accomplished in my life.

This is late this past summer; just after his third birthday. Hamming it up as he always does when he sees a camera.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi14.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fa343%2FChaniKitty%2Fletos%2520bday%2FP1010039.jpg&hash=f2f72fa7dd64d97fa613b188718c2160b2a1f5cc)

He may look innocent, but all one has to do is watch him as he literally flirts with any girl within 5 feet of him to know he is trouble.

Jayson : Nothing that I couldnt handle... for now.  $%Grinno$% Actualy we kindda hope to get a girl someday in future. When we just mentioned one day that just maybe we will decide to have one more in future they all went "berzerkish" and now they are constantly nagging that they want a baby-sister (or a baby-brother for that matter).  ::)

wes.janson you boy sure looks like a heart-breaker. ;) But just wait that he grows up!  ;D On serious note, you have a sweet little angel there. ;)

Almost 20 month since the last pic / post? No proud fathers / mothers around here anymore?

Well, Ol' Papa Nardo is still around, and one month ago my second son came was born. Unfortunately around New Years Eve he caught a serious flu, he is now in intensive care in the hospital for 10 days but slowly he's doing better and we hope that next week maybe we can take him home again ...

This is the last pic of my two boys Mehmet Dennis and Sinan Josef before Sinan Josef became ill:

Been a while since I posted in this thread. This one I took over the summer of my girls at the park...of course I cropped my ugly mug out of it! This one is with my phone as they were acting silly waiting for me to get off of work a couple of weeks ago(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi180.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fx262%2Fsithlrd98%2F1220001650copy.jpg&hash=e35f2ff65680cc014e8d53a388c83baa52995fc6)
