Well, I should not really show this, as there is a lot of modding to do yet before this ever gets out to the big public, but here goes:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg451.imageshack.us%2Fimg451%2F5734%2Fwbpsp1af8.jpg&hash=18bd3d8c647009b109c7e8e08c4d7d26253c9934)
So of you might have a change to figur out what this project is about.
EDIT: People have guess that it's a waterbus terminal, so I changed the subject title.
Water taxi stations?
I knew I should not have include that last picture ;)
Well that is just part of the project. The more visible part of the end result.
I knew you were working on the water taxis, so, even without the last picture, the logic would be some nice harbours for them, and I think you have mentioned that on the vdk water taxis thread. ;)
&apls I can`t wait for see all of this project . Looking good so far.
I am also eagerly awaiting the progress on this project. The initial sneak preview looks very promising indeed.
Just those 4 little shots remind me of venice. I really love that station, looks as if it was built in the 1980s.
wonderful station! great work!
great Station!! can't wait the release date :)

Hi vester , I'm highly interested by these functional water taxis stations ... d'you you intend to realize other canal set versions , or, at least will it possible for a LOTer to adapt them ? I love the nice modern looking as for the station than for the boat .... awesome work !
Thanks Badsim. That means a lot coming from you and thanks to the rest of you for your comments.
I have been running low on time and energy for SC lately.
Will not getting more time, but hopefully will find more energy, so I get more out of the time left for SC4.
I will try to adapt it to other canals versions. I am also working on another waterbus stop, a more simple one.
The building will be released as a stand alone version as well.
Glad to hear you are still going to be working on these (but sorry to hear you have little time/energy). Can't wait to see what your new developments will bring, and hope your energy increases as you go. I don't think I would have ever thought to transit enable canal lots and I wish you luck with it.
excellent work very nice sneak peak &apls

Well the lack of energy was due to my job searching, which ended this week. ;D
Starting Monday a new job as a civil engineer. Going to be work with bridges and others concrete structures, sometimes also buildings....
It will not give me more time, but at least I know when I am working and when I have time to do sc4 stuff...
and no more job searching.
Congratulations for finding the job Vester ... I hope you will find some extra inspiration working as a civil engineer, becasue we can always use some more of you excellent creations ;D
Wow! The pics look great - both the terminal and the boat. Can't wait! &hlp
Hello Vester :) and thank you for your new works!!
It's very good design and coloring that suits BSC-Canals very much &apls
I also want to learn it of you.
I looking forward to completion and upload your works ;)
by the way...
Please hold out to your new job, before please be carful your health
I want more my free times too ;D
Tnak you :)
Congratulations on the completion of the search. I live with three civil engineering majors at school. It seems like they have an interesting job that seems fun too (I'm an economics major myself... so I don't get the chance to do what they do too much. They are currently preparing for a big conference this weekend for which they have built a concrete canoe (the actual concrete is light enough to float on its own) and other such events). Good luck with the job, and I'll look forward to what you happen to have next.
Hello vester ,
To find a new job is a good new , so I'm glad you did it .
We'll be as patient that necessary ... RL is the most important . ;)
At the moment I am playing around with the nightlight on the San Andreas (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=542.0). Those nightlights takes forever and a lot of renderings.
congrats on your new job my friend and wonderfull work you are doing here &apls &apls
It's been a month but I forgot to say congrats on the new job as well! Welcome to the working world and good luck!
Congrats for your new job!
Thank you guys and girls.
I have found some time and energy to start batting again.
Have got an idea for another waterbus terminal,
but that will have to wait, until I have done my current project.
You want to see some pictures ?
Still not quite there. Just got started on it yesterday.
Keeps picking up very old threads. Here is another one older than 120 days :P
Have worked a little more on the terminal:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGStopsS1.jpg&hash=f379a931affdcb0988fa8b187e31ce7302586617)
Made two versions of it. Added some tickets maching and people.
Epic necro much???
Looks good, very late for a project update, like 680 days (roughly) late. :P
Well, the other part of the project - the modding part went dead.
Looks great Arne! Can't wait to see this one rendered in Catmull rom, the details will become superb than ;)
Something like this:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGStopsS2.jpg&hash=47d77aea751d7d7aafe5e88fc5d041f6ebc8b5d6)
Glad that you still working on that project. The terminus looking good. Do you think that you gonna use different canal like Callagrafix one ? The water texture look better
It's just one texture different, so yes.
 much sharper :)
Hmm... I think if you also modify the terminal for game water... that would help a lot.

Great thanks
They're beautifulln but I prefer the sim's to the second version. The first are too stretched
Looks great Vester. If only it were able to be functional. &mmm

It's the same people on the two. Some of them have been moved around.
Think I used a different render on the two models.

One could hope that someone gets inspired to make it functional.
Here is an update:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGStop1S6.jpg&hash=f35eb32e9ee4e8eec67f3f65f6d32441d4ec3a7d)
Added a few things, like boards, tires and a "logo" to the ticket machine.
 Great add. I like to tell you that i like the people props that you have used.Keep it up
Thank you Kimcar.
A view from inside the game:

After a few rendering (missing press a bottom a couple of times) I got the nightlight to work.
Got rid of the dark line at the edge of the water:

:thumbsup:Yeap . Can`t wait for use them
Thanks for the comments.
The first rendering of it with Cal's textures:

Oh yes . This is a great looking with this canal  Thanks for do it vester
You are welcome kimcar and thank you for your comments.
Is on a bit of a roll:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGCALWBSS_R2rs.jpg&hash=9bf4e699ca5edf3f4df45b86fe708e8f15613075)
A first draft for a simpler stop.
&apls Looks great with the Cal's canals! A suggestion about the canal stop - I think it would look better with a wider "entrance" (I mean the the thing that connects the dock with the canals walls).
How wide would you make the entrance bridge ? 1,5 m ? 2 m ? 3 m ?
At least 2m. 3 would probably be better.
I would have to agree with Diggis on the width for the entrance bridge, the way it is now only allows people to walk in one direction at a time (not very efficient, and dangerous in case of an emergency)
One way to make the water buses 'functional' would be to mod them as subway stations, thus giving the users the ability to connect the various stations using subways. People would get to the water bus station as pedestrian, use a dedicated 'subway' system to transport from station A to B, and would become pedestrians at station B again. I think someone else used this technology before, but I'm not sure tho.
The buses themselves could be made as eye candy lots that can be plopped onto the canals.
Great to see your making them for Cals Canals to. I deeply appreciate that effort. &apls
Is this better ?
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGCALWBSS_R4.jpg&hash=eb4cdf7db3358ace1cd749e3e0e6db29b9388842)
It's definitely starting to take shape.
Thank you Andreas.
Still adding stuff:

Agreed, it's looking like an awesome new creation to have lots of fun with. The shape of the shelter is very particular, I like it.
 I like the shape of this one too , and as for the wider entrance great move to done it. Have fun
Excellent, but I don't really like the second, because there's not enough movement, but good &apls

Not sure about the new shelter, it's closer but still need some work.
Reworked the shelter again :P

Added some more details.
:thumbsup:Excellent details that you put on. Sorry to ask but do you think that you gonna do without less people ? Just for making different.
Much better yet again. :) I think some of those sims should rather sit on the bench, or lean against the guard-rail instead of just standing there. Other than that, I'd say it's finished. Most excellent!
Is this better ?

Looks excellent oh mighty canal master

Thank you.
Here is a new stop that I have started playing around with:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGCanalGlStrand_v01r01.jpg&hash=94a021ab611c6ff658b051e71d8b7885c3ab287f)
It's inspired by a landing of the Canal and Harbour tours in Copenhagen:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FIMG_0835cr.jpg&hash=62fba21a7e407d61afff6e739a0d5d1e0578ca22)
On the other side of the canal is the Christiansborg Castle Church and the Danish Parliament.
This place in a few years is going to be a construction site for a metro stations.
Still playing around with this one.
Umm... to me... it appears that docks 1 and 2 have the same amount of dock space...
- Allan Kuan
Thats a great looking model Vester. My only comment is it seems out of place with the canals. It looks like it would be a landing at the bottom of a large plaza or something. I've been trying to think what you could to to tie it in more with the canal style. &mmm
Maybe make the walls out of the same brick and leave the floor/ground the one you have. Or just bring in some detail elements into the walls using the brick. And maybe make the railing closer to the one on top of the canals...
Don't get rid of that version though. I could see a large civic square in a similar brick with that at the bottom of it.
I will try to add some of the feature/shapes from SG's canals, like coloums ect.
On the version with Cal's textures, dirt will be added to the textures later on.
&apls &apls Oh yes . th e last one looking so good too. That`s great to have many choice
Thank you, Kimcar.
Haven't reworked the textures yet:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKSGCanalGlStrand_v01r04.jpg&hash=7dcb2ec2e32643715ba5b031dafe2f04f12a057a)

(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi40.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fe242%2Fvester_DK%2FWBP%2FVDKCALWBSGLStrandS1.jpg&hash=ac8de78aafe0651a25f3fad1ee76fa9613a848ad)
That is looking really great there Arne !
I really love the texture used, its looks very nice !
Wonderful job of texturing, Arne - you couldn't have chosen a better one. These, along with your ferries, are going to be a great addition to the game.
Later...
Joan
Any chance of something similar for Maxis Water?
I know that, like maxis highways, I am the the only person who prefers the maxis water and ferries, but these would look nice with the water taxi automata by (erm, I forgot, but they add a new variety without subtracting the old, and UDI seems to pick by chance).
Joelyboy: Are you talking about the terminals/stops or the ferries ?
