MAS71

Hello everyone :)

Now, I making a little works(Lot) with BAT.
I was sharing in SimCityForce it. (Japanese site)

I have a problem of Night Light in my Lot.
Please give me your hand!!

Please look this SS.
I make PROPs that only a guardrail(crash barrier) had Night Light by B.A.T.
This casually arranged a same one LOT with the problem.

There are the one that functions normally and the one that doesn't function why ()what()

My works data is HERE.
"JPN_Walls_Mas71.ZIP" (623KB)

LOT and MODELS with the problem is as follows.
+ GurdRail_02-0x5ad0e817_0x336c53cd_0x30000.SC4Model
+ GurdRail_02_dgl-0x5ad0e817_0x936c6b4f_0x30000.SC4Model
+ mas71_wall01_gurdrail_b2f6b974.SC4Lot
+ mas71_wall02_gardrail_up_b2f6f302.SC4Lot

Does anyone understnad what caused this problem?
Please give me your good idea. "$Deal"$

Thank you read my message with my no good English. :-[

jestarr

I'm not sure, but it may be that the props are too close to the edge of the lot.  If they are the props won't light up properly.  I've gotten around this in the past by rendering the props slightly offset, so the game thinks they're set farther in, on the lot, but appear in-game where I wanted them.

Badsim

You can be sure jestarr & MAS71 ; that's exactely the explanation .

MAS71

Thank you jestarr  and Badsim your adequate advice!!
It was possible to solve it :thumbsup:

I tried to Prop Test again.

Quotethe props are too close to the edge of the lot.
That's right!!

I should try remodel my Props again.
Thank you very much for your advice :thumbsup:

I'm sorry to post continuously &mmm

I have no idea about this case.

What becomes a standard in such a case?

&idea Does the ARROW MARK in PROP relate!? &idea
Do you think when the ARROW in PROP has been installed completely in LOT, it is normally
displayed!?

Wao!!
Is it answer of this problem!?

*************** EDIT *****************
I think that it should have consequentially written this topics in the thread concerning Lot Editer Help.
I'm sorry that a wrong thread is set up.

This thread has become a very useful one, and I am moving it to the Lot Editor Boards  ;)

I confirm ! I can feel I'm going to learn something ...

MAS71 I have no explanation so far for your example , it seems to work with props overhanging 2 sides of a Lot . Already , to have these props available under LotEditor , you would have enlarge this Lot to 2x2 , no ?

MAS71, you may try to change the prop examplar so that its occupant size ( property 0x27812810 ) is smaller than the actual real value and try to replop it.
OccupantSize will define the blue bounding box, so if you tell the game it is smaller than the actual real boundingbox of the model it may works. It is just a suggestion, I have not tested that

if your OccupantSize looks like 2, 1, 20, change it to 2, 1, 8

I'm sorry to take up to your time.
I did not understand whether this problem was a problem at which thread.(BAT? LOT?) ()what()
Thank you for your understanding!! :)

to Badsim

Quote from: Badsimyou would have enlarge this Lot to 2x2 , no ?
It is unsuitable for an original purpose :-[
I want to mention it in PROP which I arranged outside LOT. ;)
Thank you!!

to wouanagaine

before,I'm sorry... :-[
I don't understand a meaning and a use to have of various SC4 parameters well yet. &mmm

Will "OccupantSize" which you say be numerical value of ".SC4Desc(PROP which appears of malfunction)"
I could not find "Occuoant Size"2, 1, 20 nowhere in my data.(.SC4Desc)

However, I did not know that there was such a method :o
I'll try it!!
Thank you very much wouanagaine ;)

Thank you very much your thanksfull advices again everyone!!  ;)

wouanagaine

MAS71, a french speaking in english to a japanese is not the easiest way to make us understand each other :)

You may open your SC4Desc with ILive Reader, and click on the prop examplar, on that examplar you'll have the list of all properties on the right part of the window
In that window you'll have a value named 'OccupantSize' which the hexadecimal code is 0x27812810. that property handle the size of the model in x,y,z axis.
What I suggested is that you shrink the long value by 2. The ( 2,1,20) was an example from my mind but should be closed to your actual data

I don't know if it will work, but worth the pain I think :)

Take care

wouanagaine A french speaking english to another french isn't easier ...I 'm understanding this second technical post a little more , so lets hope MAS71 will do ! ;D

MAS71 I'm not sure we understand each others too ... ;) I was meaning that when I work with LotEditor , I have systematically to enlarge my lot to have access to any props overhanging this Lot ( and I needed a lot of time to understand that  $%Grinno$%). Then , after have used this prop  , I can reduce back the Lot . Anyway , I think this is out of subject ...

for All...

I'm sorry that my no good English. :'(
I write a sentence here while using few Translation Site.
It's used for reading your messages too.
I must learn English more than study the system of SC4 :-[

Quote from: wouanagaine(2,1,20) was an example from my mind but should be closed to your actual data.
Oh! I understand it well ;)
I will change this numerical value of my data, and test variously. :thumbsup:

Quote from: BadsimI 'm understanding this second technical post a little more , so lets hope MAS71 will do !
I have new problems about this.
Now, I am testing those some problems now.

Please give me time a little.(or many times :-[)
Could I like to report again when I would find the any solution?
Thank you ;)

*********************** EDIT *************************
%confuso My confusion bigger and bigger.  %confuso
I tried to test it in various ways, but do not reach it till I find a precise solution. ()sad()

An arrow seems to be too unreliable somehow or other. ()sad()
I ploped a LOT Northward. It was displayed normally.
I arranged same LOT next to the other direction. It was not displayed normally.
I don't have no idea any more....

It seems that the effective method is wouanagaine's one for the moment.
We should set BlueBoundingBox again small as much as possible and had better post it not to appear outside a LOT.

Thank you for reading.

Ok.
I want to report the result of a variety of tests with some pics.  "$Deal"$

Q.  I want to make a LOT for Diagonal with ROPSs had "Night Light"

==============================================================

<Report 1>
I make it by the most popular method.  and the Result of it.

No good. ()sad()
Even if it looks flat, externals seem to be actually slopes.

so,
I should put the "Reference point of PROPs" on a near place as much as possible in the edeges.
(Red line edges in a Pics)

==============================================================

<Report 2>
next,
I tried to put PROPs that "moved the reference point".

No good too. :'(
It was not displyed normlly a "Night Light" like the above-mentioned.
(The "Arrow of PROPs" protrudes beyond LOT.)

==============================================================

<Report 3>
and,
I plopped a same PROPs by the method that had been taught by wouanagaine.

I changed a property of "Occupant Size" of ".SC4Desc of PROPs" by "ilive reader".

I plopped this PROPs on a very limit position.

Yes!  Yeeeeees!!  It succeeded!!!
I finished my long long journey.... and my short day off too.... ;D

==============================================================

I seem to be useful for such situation too.

==============================================================

Thank you very much for your best advice and helps
Wouanagaine , Badsim , Jestarr and Jeronij!!

--- Report of trouble ---
The problem occurred when the size of  "blue bounding box" was reduced, and ploped. ()sad()

The PROP disappears when the direction of the display is changed in the Game when it is changed to a too small size.
(when you rotated the map)
It is never displayed until re-Plop it.

I saw this symptom when BOX saize chenge to 0.5,0.5,0.5 and more small.
but, this is not absolute the Box Size.

However, I was not able to find causal relations of them.
Former size and Reduction rate...etc.... ()what()

Therefore, be careful when this means is used.
You should do various many checks a LOT before open to the public your works. ;)

Badsim

Hi , MAS71

Thank you for this warning ... So far , I'm so busy that I only test this with an Oppie Canal water tile ...I didn't notice an issue , but I'm not sure to have rotated the map using it ...and I have changed its value from 16 to 2... I will verify all this as soon as possible .

Thanks again for your concern . ;)
