new pc and new problems

problem solved: Go to My Computer and right-click on the disk-drive you have Simcity 4 in, click OPEN. Look for SETUP and right-click then select Properties. go to COMPATIBILITY on the tabs then you have a list of check boxes. select the check box for RUN THIS PROGRAM AS ADMINISTRATOR and also select the tick box for RUN THIS PROGRAM IN COMPATIBILITY MODE FOR: "Windows XP Service pack 2" click apply and then ok. Now it SHOULD run.

This pc runs on vista, i got a new sc4 discs for xmas so I installed the game on the new pc tonight the game runs great, so i thought i best get the updates for it, SKU2 as i live in UK and the game is made in the EU as it says so on the disc, I also get the bat update. I install sku2 first then try to load the game and I get a ctd straight away, install the bat update and get a ctd after that as well. Though to myself the game works great without the updates but as soon as I install the updates I get ctd. By the way I dont have any plugins or maps and the pc is up to date.

I went back to the old pc done a fresh install of sc4 and the updates and it all works on my old xp pc. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas for this...
