The capacity for RCI buildings is based on the volume of the building.

The Volume is calculated from the properties

**Occupant Size** (Width, Height and Depth) and the

**Filling Degree**:

**Volume = Width × Depth × Height × Filling Degree**The Floorage of a building is caculated from the Volume by dividing with the floor height, 3 m:

**Floorage = Volume / 3**The Capacity is calculated by dividing the total floorage by the Floorage Requirement for each inhabitant/worker:

**Capacity = Constant + Floorage / Floorage Requirement**The Constant is

**2** for industrial buildings and

**3** for residental and commercial buildings.
