Without further delay, here are the latest pics that I have obtained from the great people at the Library.

Bordertown had been established.  Construction on Rte. 10 had been completed.  Settlers had begun to build houses and start farms.  However, there was one thing missing.  There was no electricity!  The residents were tired of living in the dark, heat, and cold, and demanded a change.  The Governor heard the complaints, and ordered the mayor of Bordertown to get some power flowing to the residents.  As soon as the electrical workers at Arvo Inc. heard about this, a group was on its way to Bordertown.  A power plant was built in an area that the Governor has labeled as Tile B.

Construction of the plant was contracted out to the highest bidder, and SG Inc. won by a large margin.  The timber that was cut to provide space for the construction of roads and buildings was exchanged with Kohlsa, a trade partner nation, so that Bordertown could receive coal for the new power plant.  HomePower Corp. won the rights for subtransmission and distribution of the power to homes and businesses in Bordertown, while Arvo Inc. insisted on constructing Bordertown's first transmission lines.  Company homes were built for the power company workers.

The residents and farmers now had electrical power to use their lights and electric heaters, but they had gotten their way once, and decided to ask for more.  The mayor of Bordertown set out to construct a water system, as prescribed by the Governor.  Once again, SG Inc. was awarded the contract for the design of the water facility, although Maxis Co. played a small role as well.  It is Maxis Co. that laid out the water pipes to the region's homes and businesses.  The water facility is on Tile B.

The facility was built with the growth of the region in mind.  Since the power plant was not too far away, a treatment system was constructed as well, to ensure that local consumers always received clean, pure water.  Maxis Realty, a division of Maxis Co. and the same agency that provided the power workers with homes, decided that it would be only fair to help the water workers out in the same manner.  Besides, the Governor had stated that the utility workers must have homes.  It's hard to argue with that.  :)  With the construction of these two facilities, the Bordertown Utility Department (BUD) was formed.

The Governor declared that a new road should be built, and the GRTA agreed.  The new road, S-2 (Secondary Route 2), generally followed a southwest direction from its beginning at Route 10, starting in Tile E and going through the precincts labeled as Tile H, Tile D, and Tile G.  The road did curve in two locations to avoid areas that were suspected to contain freshwater springs, and the road also veered slightly south in Tile G to eliminate the necessity for a bridge over Fair Lake.  The road left the region in the southwestern portion of Tile G.

Here's a few extra pics, permitted by the guidelines of Challenge 2, showing some different views of the power plant and water facility.  I'll just let the pictures do the talking this time:

Find my power line BAT thread here.
Check out the Noro Cooperative.  What are you waiting for?  It even has electricity.

Your challenge 2 is well done according to the rules and the demands. You can now play on 2 more citytiles anywhere in your region. This will be a part of challenge 3. Make sure that you have at least 100 citizens in all three tiles you played in (no population max limit).

Judging of challenge 2

A.  Excellent choice of positioning the new route, going through new terrain all the way and covering a good part of the southwest of your region. We gave you 5 points for this challenge.
B.   Good use of powerlots and not badly placed, could have been a little further from homes. We gave you a solid 4 points for this challenge.
C.  The watersystems are great, well thought of and well placed. Although looking a tiny bit too big for the 15K to 25K population it was asked for, we gave you 5 points for the waterchallenge.

A Total of 14 Points were added to your challenge.

Congratulations, we are impressed with the details of your pictures especially the powerstation.Very good work and Good luck with the next challenge.
