...said young Joe from the now darkened lounge room... Although called the mighty Stanmore Bend, the only thing that was mighty about the place was the fact that the local folk were constantly replacing blown light bulbs from too much power overloading the system from the nearby PowerStation!

With Governor Freddy' recent ride on the route 10 through the countryside, his entourage complained of the lack of supreme flushing toilets throughout the region. Unknown to his upper-class lot, the local GRV-ians simply went outdoors and used the backyard dunny – at home or work!

The dunny in fact became a celebrity (like it is folklore here in the Oz) and to tell you the truth, I wouldn't be surprised if it were constructed into a statue and worshipped for the true icon that it is.  ;)

Anyway....so the Governor asked for power and power he received. After due consideration, tile F was decided upon as it was not only central to the river trade and the north and south lands, but it is also well-insulated from residential growth from all directions par the west, thanks to the lovely southerly lake and rock formation in Iayes Hill (tile I) and close proximity to the river edge to the north and east. With future town planning already designated in the south-east, the Stanmore Power Station can re-develop within the boundries allocated with the potential to expand in the future.

With combined heat and power, a cogeneration plant and numerous substations throughout the plant, the overall power can cover close to 15,000 (megawatts/amps/things) to the future growth of Stanmore Bend's and GRV's future populace.

Given the volatile behaviour of bridge builders-come-power station workers, suitable trailers and homes were constructed from gmax and built close to the power station so as to encourage healthier lifestyles. With power walking to work deemed to be the most popular local sport, nightly group campfire discussions at the Gunther residence has since sparked interest for the power station to support the community by building a cricket ground. If it were to go ahead, land would need to be acquired soon before it is all sold for tax revenues (as per briefed by the governor).

With power moving forward, the next reasonable request by the Governor was for clean drinking water for the inhabitants of the region. A number of locations were surveyed with regards to location and climate, water supply and necessity – both residential and trade.

Borderbank (tile E) ticked all boxes with the highest population already existing in GRVII (with 308 residents) and an increasing industrial trade. With the country windmill first to be built, the population boomed and the riveted water tank was constructed alongside with the first passenger/freight rail station in GRVII (BLS Rural Station).

With Borderbank's industry already practised in exporting via rail cargo, water can be transported quickly throughout the 6 inter-connecting tiles when needed.

With development continuing so strongly in GRVII, it was only time before the Governor wanted another road in place to access more land. A swift turn off route 10 at Borderbank (tile E), the decision was made to build the one bridge across the river despite crossing an island (this decision not only cost less money in ramp construction but also left the island in pristine condition).

The traverse from Borderbank across to Darley (tile D) and down through Darraweit (tile G) to Ipindellah (tile H) and out to Simnation cost $84,000 more than challenge 1 – a considerable amount but then again, as the Governor said 'the budget is fairly high'!

Cheerio! nsa

Judgement of Challenge 2

A.   Very good choice of placing your second route and giving access to a  new area of the region. We gave you 4 points for the route.
B.  Very good use of powerlots and well placed and detailed. Workers in an excellent location. We liked the fencing and we gave you 5 points for the powerplant challenge.
C.  Again, very good use of waterlots and location. We gave you 4 points for the waterplant challenge.

Total of 13 Points added to your challenge.

Congratulations, nice explanation and description that came along. Good luck with the next one.
