I hope you will be soon able to notice why I decided to try to start my own website. The mainly idea is that if you come here to search information about the game, you have to be able to easily find it. Also the idea is to offer to the members the best quality custom content possible. So , this means that the dowloads section will have a quality control before a member can upload something, so we can guarantee its quality. I know this can be frustant for some members, but this is one of the main reasons for this site.

"hyphens"....well, php servers do have those things.... :(  you could use "_" instead .... :-\

 :D well, at least it is reassuring to see the forum grow while visiting ha, ha, ha. When I logged in there were only a couple of topics and now there are lots.  &apls

Hello, jeronij! Nice site you have here. I found it when lurking in your CJ back at Simtropolis, which I'm going to be sad to see go a second time. Will you be making a CJ here on your site? Oh, and where is the CJ forum? I remember reading that the CJ section would be separate from these forums, but I don't see the section for them anywhere. I simply fear that the members that are actually registering do never come back when they see the lack of contents  &mmm ... So I think I will start to fisnish some unreleased models I have in my computer, and I will put them in the "exchange"  &ops .... at least until we get a more serious exchange   %wrd . I think that working more in the actual exchange, knowing that a much better and professional one will be available soon, is a waste of time, so I´ll start to spend my time creating some custom content...

I want to add more fetures to the site, like the images galleries and maybe a chat... do you like chatting ?¿, I dont, but I´d do anything for the site member's  ;D.

About both, the galleries and the chat, I have been looking for some posibilities:
I want a software for the City Journals different from a forum, but which allows multiple posts from the author and multiple comments from the readers.  I have found one called Coppermine which I have installed in Galleries (http://www.sc4devotion.com/gallery) . You can have a look if you want, There is only a test there, and I dont think it can be used as a City Journal holder because the authors can only post files, but not comments...and what is a City Journal without feedback ?¿
We also looked for a blog software but we did not find anything useful.
So, the question is:  Can you recommend us a good blog software that could be used as a City Journals section ?¿

About the chat, the only decent one I found costs 50 $ (Ajax technology). Is this expensive or not for such a software ?¿. Can you recommend us some free chatting softeare we could integrate in the site ?¿

Thanks to all for the unconditional support so far  :thumbsup:. I have to admit that after the problems trying to give you access to custom content, I though everybody would have leave to other more important sites... so as mentioned above, let me use now my free time to develope something nice you can see / download because I know that is what you are really looking for  ;)

I like the way the site is developing. I didn't expect everything to be "A" ok from the launch but each time I vist I do believe that it is getting better.

I am not much good in recomding stuff for you to use but a few of my mates are pc savvy and I shall ask them for any recomendations that they might have.

Don't get too dishearted - I'm sure all the other great sites around took a while to get going too (none were an overnight success)

Oooh   unfinished models that sounds interesting.

I shall do what I can to help for the download section but to be honest the best I can do is mess about with the Lot editor.

pica, you can already download some files in the exchange section in this site. If you cant see the link in the main menu, logout and login again. You should see it then  ;)

Well I'm not sure if this is the right place but I'll post it here and hope for a response.   I see the link to the exchange on the main page but, everytime I attempt to go there it tells me I need a log in.     It doesn't ask for a log in, or give me a place to do so.    It just says I need one.   Being I am logged in , I'm not sure what it is looking for.     So far that is the only thing I have had trouble with. ???

I had the same thing until 2 days ago when I noticed that on a different PC I could click on the link and get into the download section. 

When I deleted my username and password from my browser at my own PC, and typed it in again to log on, the link became available.  I have no clue why - but it worked, so maybe it works for you too!

Solution A

Logout ( from the login form on the left column) and login again from the same place.

Solution B

Go to Google ( or any other page different that this one). Clean your browser cache ( Tools --> Internet Options ) and only your browser's cache !!!, and come back to SC4Devotion.

Any of them should solve your problem.

Thanks for the suggestions.   I did both.    I click on the link at the bottom of the home page ("exchange starts to have...") and it takes me to a page with some ships and one other thing , both posted by you (jeronij).    I don't see a down load place or any other conent.    Am I still missing something?     I wouldn't be suprised if I was.    Some days I am a bit dense.   ???

Hello All,

I am happy to see another site devoted to SC4.  The admins of this site have such great talent.  I have recently started playing SC4 again after I stopped playing it over nearly two years ago. I am currently reconfiguring my plugin folders and I am learning how to use the Terraformer, which is incredible.  Once I feel sufficient in using the Terraformer, I''ll start my new region! 

Has anyone sent this site's link to Maxis?    I understand that Maxis still watches what their fans are creating.   ;)

I would swear I posted them a link maybe a month or two ago. It seems that nobody is there to update the fansite's list... $%Grinno$%

Don't worry about it, I would bet that this site already gets more traffic than the official SC4 site does now, and Im ceratin that EA have abandoned it completely, but they are certainly still watching us  $%#Ninj2

I just have to say, how much I am loving it here. I love how much more attention a CJ/MD gets than on ST. The CJ section is far too busy on ST for my liking and your topic is basically gone in 5 seconds, which I really hate and you can't get the comments you are searching for. I collapse a lot of the forums here, because I don't use them, which is something I really like :D.

People around here, tend to give more helpful comments aswell, rather than just, oh great, lovely, can't wait to see more. All the sort of stuff that is nice to hear from time to time. I love criticism as it helps me improve, something I want to do. Not just stay stuck at the amateur level I am. Thanks to everyone who put this great place together, love it  :thumbsup: &apls &apls &apls

I agree with you 100%, things are much more close-knit here, not that a large amount of people is a bad thing. It's just not conducive to really getting to know everyone and their work. I hope your enjoying your time here half as much as I am, JJ! Take care, my friend!

The only problem I seem to be having is too much fun,not enough sleep!  :D . I'm an old machine builder with modest computer skills,yet after downloading many things from the lex I have only had one brown box!(that was quickly repaired) You folks do a fine job here, big thank you to all...

Being a forums noob I didn't know where to post this one.
I was looking at the pictures of these warplanes,and I went a little cross-eyed.Presto! they were all 3D. Here is the file I was viewing.

That's just how the creater has decided to show them in the read-me, the planes have been designed to sit inside a NAM roundabout like this

You can download the file to any folder you want, however, it is suggested to keep the default installation path (Documents\SimCity 4\Plugins\Network Addon Mod).
