Title: TEASER : New tool in the hood
Post by: wouanagaine on June 01, 2007, 01:26:32 AM
I've been working on a brand new tool for 4 months now, it is not yet finished nor ready to be publicly tested

And as my avatar suggests, I will be naughty this weekend

Now, what have I been drinking today ???
That picture makes me more groggy than a bottle of french cognac ?=mad)=

Reminds me of a ship navigating in heavy fog.
Knowing wouanagaine, I expect the fog to clear up soon! ::)
There are a few interesting things seen though; a list of dat files, a list of properties, a list of stages (up to 12), Parthenon in several languages, building families... and a devil  ()flamdev()
This will be interesting!

I'm pretty sure custom queries are not included, as Daeley's tutorial is perfect in that sence.

As Barbyw said , wait and see

this is what you'll get when running the tool and select an item in the 'Standard Models' ie a BAT
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fileden.com%2Ffiles%2F2006%2F7%2F28%2F145206%2FPIM_Extended%2F00_Model%2520view.jpg&hash=f16ed54f5c9cccdf55e8b2bde56d7ce5d95426bf) (http://www.fileden.com/files/2006/7/28/145206/PIM_Extended/00_Model%20view.jpg)
and this is what you get by selecting an animation ie ATC/AVP ( which are animated )

To me, it appears to be an ULTRA version of the sorry-arse Maxis PluginManager, with so much more in terms of capability.  One of the downsides of the current PM is that it cannot see deeper than the parent "plugins" folder.  With this tool, it seems that you can easily tweak ALL plugins that you have, and perhaps even some default game values; and more...

Looks ULTRA revolutionary!  I can't wait!

Where are the brown boxes?  ;D

Well, I can only repeat what the others said, this is a magnificent tool indeed, and I guess it'll render quite a lot of other tools useless. ;) I noticed that you used "T" for "train" transit enabling (at least I guess so) - would it be feasibile to make it customizable for other language as well? simrolle used "A, B, C,..." as generic letters, so it works for all languages.

Thx everyone

so here is the already coded features list ( hopefully testers will add the one I may have missed )

PIM like related
- Langage available : English, German, Spanish, French ( you can translate to your own if you want )
-Folder selection, contrary to Maxis PIM which only load what is on your My docs\SimCity4\Plugins folder and to Maxis LE which load everything recursivly
- Display of S3D, ATC/AVP with the 5 zoom level and 4 rotation
- Handling of Resource Key Type 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 in examplar
- Drag & drop model ( S3D, AVP ) onto catergory to create examplar, like PIM, but with more categories( aka Landmark with jobs - CS/CO/I , and growable Anchor/Mech/Out industries ), and without any incorrect or missing property. Just drag& drop on the intended category and voila. nothing to change
- The maxis PIM need a xml file from BAT model to compute some of the properties like the occupant size, this file is not needed any more ( and it will only take the name of the model if present ).
- The created examplar will hold better suited values than in PIM ( ie garbage value for example )
- Managment of international LTEXTs so you won't have any excuse to have the 'Insert item description here' text anymore
- Building/Prop families are easily managed, you can even named them in a 2 mouse clicks operation
- Open all examplar using same building/prop families
- Multiple examplars editing at the same time, so you can easily copy/paste from one to other ( for experienced user only )
- Dependencies scanner for lot examplar with more in depth than SC4Tools scanner ( sounds, ui, ltext added )
- Turn a plopable building to a reward, you still need to write the LUA code for it, but every files needed are added.
- CAM enable, ie lot up to stage 15

LE like related ( everything is preview only at the moment )
- Transit enabling
- Base /Overlay textures
- Prop,flora,building
- Building family cycling
- multiple view ( 2D only, 3D only, 2D&3D )
- multiple lot editor to enable copy/paste
- transparent lot ( ie without base texture )

TODO list
- Regarding the number of threads like "I'm missing plugin pack ID XXXXXX" I will add a feature to search for lot using that ID and a search to find that ID ( you can add your cleanitol folder to search for ), not top priority
- Fully lot editor features, including Prop/Building/Flora preview list, texture preview, grid snapping, selection alignment
I'll try to preserve the Maxis LE shortcut to ease the learning curve
- Lot creation from a building examplar, ie right click on a building examplar and select 'Create lot', it will take care of setting all need properties correctly regarding of the kind of building
- Generation of the icon for plopable lot
- Create a growable from a plopable and vice versa

Things that won't be done ( no need to ask for them, as they can be done with others tools and requiere a deep SC4 knowledge )
-Animated prop ( aka generation of the ATC/AVP )
-UI editor
-Edition of examplar other than Lot/Prop/Building/Foundation/Flora

I want to thx the whole BSC team for testing, especially RippleJet who provide me with extensive maths formula for making every properties game compliant.

So with this tool which I hope every custom content creator will use when finished, there won't be unbalanced items anymore. Custom content creation require a lot of knowledge to avoid messing the user gameplay experience, this tool will alleviate the knowledge needed to create 'good quality' custom content
No more stage 2 skyscrappers or a 1x1 lot with 10000 CS$ jobs or the eternal Residential landmark or massive garbage problem.
I hate that ( beeing a newbie error or made on purpose ) hence why I create this tool.

Expected planned date : like the NAM, ie when it will be done, hopefully in July

I will keep you inform of the coding process in this thread

Some progress today

First lot R$1_2x2  ( straight from the tool to SC4 ), a bit plain but that is what you'll get by creating a new lot from a building examplar, at least the lot is playable and correct, just have to decorate it a bit - or send it to Barbyw :D -

Everything is computed and based on the size of the model as well as the purpose/wealth
For growable the lot stage is also computed based on the lot size and some properties on the building examplar
And remember it is straight forward and even a 2 yo can do it,
-drag the SC4 Model onto the category and name it
-right click on the created building examplar, choose "create lot using this building"
-enter the lot size, the tool show you the stage it will fit
-exit and run SC4 and voila
I don't think I can make it easier

Very nice, To automatically compute Stats is hellishly useful. but i must still ask;
Will it be just as easy to change the stats?

I know you say the calculations are as near perfect as can be, but what about if the model is an odd shape,  making it seems bigger (to SC4) than it is? In some cases there will be need for you to manually change certain Stats. Its not such a big problem, because we can always just fire up the Ol' reader to do it, but it would be nice to have an 'All-In-One' tool :P
Title: Re: TEASER : New tool in the hood

Technically mjig.... You will still have iLive's Reader.

But why would you want to edit a building given stats by a near perfect program designed by our awesome member wouanagaine?  It wont be all that necissary.

so are you saying jplumbey that we won't be able to manually edit stats with this tool. in certain city environments individuals may wish to edit the stats provided by the X tool. maybe to personal taste.... say you want a particular building to grow less often, or more often. twice now this question of ease of manual edits has been asked and twice, no real answer has been supplied.

The creator of this tool will tell you more about its functionality....in his own time.  No-one has to provide you with answers until when (or if) they are good and ready.

Title: Re: TEASER : New tool in the hood

Don't make me wrong, the tool is made to ease the process of creating examplar that don't screw the game, beeing building, prop, flora, foundation or lot, obviously it is more targetted to basic user than experienced modder, but the experienced modder will get the benefit of having only one tool instead of running 4 or 5 tool to get the data ready to be uploaded
Regarding odd shaped building, the calculation take care of this with a bit of help of the user because as I'm sure you know the data for a model in sc4 is roughly a box even on a triangular building. You just have to specify that 50% of the bounding box is used
Of course you may think that I'm a little dictatorial on this issue, yes you're right, I don't want stage2 skyscrappers. Most of the stage2 skyscrappers I downloaded were made by unexperienced modder, that is what that tool will prevent. Experienced modders that want stage2 skyscrapper for specific purpose can still do them with reader.
And about editing properties, how can you think you'll change the name of the building, its description ( for plop ), building style if there is no way to edit properties ?
That said, the tool will prevent you to do some modding I consider inappropriate.

and btw:

@Kimcar and Sebes, I don't feel so alone anymore, thanks guys!  There was a time when I understood technical things but since I retired and technical things give me a headache I've given up trying to understand them.  I guess if I really wanted to I could figure it all out, but with our great BATers and Lotters out there it would be like preaching to the choir!   ;)

ok thankyou for your response. the example i was thinking of is something like the CN tower being very tall with very few occupied floors. if i was to give mod it as a ploppable with cs$$ jobs for example i would prefer a realistic number like "With a core staff of approximately 450 exceptional employees the CN Tower recruits approximately 150. additional employees for the summer season" instead of the many thousands that even checking the 50% LOD fill box would bring.so to do this i would need to use the reader?

Read that again, MG. If you want to have buildings that are unrealistic from a game POV - that is not from an RL POV - then fine, you can but please do not let them loose on a community that deserves buildings that fit into the Maxis standard. This has happened far too often in the past and has caused imbalance for many people who cannot modify the stats.
The object of this program is to make lots from BATs that address some of the inherent problems of the Maxis PIM - ie excess garbage etc - and provide balanced game assests.
Title: Re: TEASER : New tool in the hood
Post by: wouanagaine on June 08, 2007, 12:51:47 PM
Quoteso to do this i would need to use the reader?
No the 50% I use as example. You can see it as how much of the building bounding box is relevant to the game ( beeing job or residential ). So in case of the CN Tower, you may come with 1% of the bounding box is actually relevant to the game. This way all further properties will be computed based on that. Contrary to Maxis PIM which solely uses the bounding box in conjoncton with crappy factors to produce crappier values.
Another reason to not use Reader in this case, is that the tool not only computes the number of jobs/res but also most of others properties ( worth, power consumed, garbage pollution etc... ) which are all interrelated. Using the reader you'll have to change all of theses values or it will produce an unbalanced building.

I understand every single word, but i cant get the meaning of the whole sentence  ::)

So, the percentage of the Bounding Box is fully flexible? In that case, it makes Sliced Bread look as special as sand in the desert. (As in, the new tool is amazing)

It needed some better punctuation  ;)

well "as special as sand in the desert...." means really nothing amazing, like just plain grey.

and i put a take on best thing since sliced bread "meaning really good" implying it made something really good looking boring compared to this,

Well, some of us won't.

Been testing this on a limited basis and it is light years better than the Maxis tool, and dare I say it, more intuitive than iLive's reader.  When the LOT editing capabilities are fully realised with everything that's been promised it's going to change the face of Modding for a lot of people like me who think Hex is a spell to make you think you're a rubber chicken.

I just went through this thread and I must say:

WOW  (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcosgan.de%2Fimages%2Fsmilie%2Fkonfus%2Fn025.gif&hash=45475e51d71b7114ace4a8e7d2c1dfa4a79e4a9a)

But there is something I would like to ask:

Will there be a possibility to set a prop on absolute positions? For example I always hated to place fences with the mouse in the LE as I never get them alined.
What I want to do for example is setting a 4m long fence on the positions 0.0;0.0; 4.0;0.0; 8.0;0.0 and 12.0;0.0 on a 1x1 Lot.

If you can provide this functionality I'll call you God!  (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fcosgan.de%2Fimages%2Fsmilie%2Fkonfus%2Fa075.gif&hash=1c784a373b921a33d634323652bcd53e9ba07779)

Damn, this is the best thing since sliced bread! :P

Will there be a tab system, like the LE (I quite liked that)? I hope it'll be much easier to find what you're looking for in the LE-X, because right now, the big problem with the existing LE is that you can't easily find prop families and the like, so I certainly hope this process will be made a lot less painful.

Keep it going, and don't lose your stuff! :P

Have fun with your new job.

I have noticed recently that a few (alot actually it seems) of lotters, batters and modders are already using this tool.    There have been several recent releases that have prominently noted in their readmes that the X-tool was used to create them.      Are these beta testers that are using the x-tool to create stuff that is being released?     Just a curious thought.      Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.       &Thk/(

I can't possibly add more admiration or applause that was has already been given in this thread, including that from many that in their own right have proved themselves to be giants to this game.  If the current group does not lose interest or get waylaid by RL, collectively you will bring SC4 to the SC5 level many have wished for.   I'm not sure I would even want a SC5 as it would most likely render all the great work you (again collectively) have done useless.

I fully expect that one day your efforts will bring us:  true surface water; functional rain; multi functional buildings (eg residential/commercial); complete functional ploppables, a new class of workers for civic buildings and items and much more.

Please, all of you, keep up the great work.

I wish that was the case.  But the only people capable of making True surface water, rain, functional ploppables and new job classes are people working for EA/MAXIS.  I highly doubt they will come to be.  Multi-function buildings are not possible with the way the developers and simulators are designed, so even EA/MAXIS would have to build a new game from scratch to do this.  These are true limitations in which we as a community cannot get around no matter how far we mod this game.

Back on topic!  Wou, well, you know... Your just... Amazing!  Keep it up, I will definately be playing with the X-Tool eventually.  From the messing around that I have had my hands on, its simply awesome, but there is one more major feature I am waiting for but it hasnt been announced so I wont say it publically.  Just hurry up already, Im getting impatient... LOL, just kidding... but seriously I want it NOW.

I did not know about this tool until I saw the poll today...

after reading this thread Im starting to get the same itch as many of you are having. I've been wanting to ask for some specific lots/bats that I couldn't create myself with my limited knowledge...but now Im going wait for the final release of this X-tool and I'm hopefull that now I can perhaps create them myself in the near future!

Can't wait to give my sims the X-factor! :D

Nice looking tool you made there, can't wait for it to be released, seeing that the other tools no longer work properly on my computer due to certain windows updates. I'm forced to mod on a old pentium 3 that has no windows updates just to get basic mod work done, and boy let me tell ya it's slow, lol.

I can tell you that life is a joy.

I was making some props and also doing some small industrial mechanical buildings. This is a snap! Drag the model and make a prop. No muss, no fuss. I don't have to click on the pull down menu to make the ground true; don't have to open a pull down to make lights true etc.

And making growables is a snap as well. Don't have to do a bunch of research to try to come up with occupant or consumption numbers. And it gets better because I don't have to open the lot editor and use an existing lot to start my new one. A couple of mouse clicks and bingo! A bare bones lot that is a properly named file with the correct stage growth. And plop lots with jobs? Well, I may even start making those.

When will this be ready? Don't know. New versions, features, and bugs are removed every week. We're in beta version 44 now. The main program is functioning nicely though. Now I don't want to oversell this because that may lead to some disappointment. But I can tell you one thing. If beta version 44 is all that I'll ever have? It is sooo much better than the Maxis PIM as it is. I'll never go back.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you ... Stephane

Never been so closed to a public version than today .
However there are still some features that missing, and of course fixing bugs. But as Jim said, there is much more fixing nowadays than new features

To me the X-Tool is just a testament to the collective abilities of the BSC-NHP, and more specifically, the efforts, talents, resources and input of Wouanagaine, Barbyw, RippleJet and the numerous people behind the scenes engaging in the project and with the tool itself, providing feedback, suggestions and on-going testing.

I am not surprised by what is achieved here, with such amazing talent that Wou possesses and the impeccable work ethic, professionalism and innovation of the BSC and individual members.

I have been using the tool for over a month now, and I can honestly say it works like a dream! It makes modding so much easier - no, it makes modding a breaze! - and it is not only user-friendly and incredibly powerful, but also easy to understand and master.

A HUGE kudos and applause to all involved in this project, but especially to Wou, Barby and RippleJet.

I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this tool! Great job to all involved in the project!  &apls &apls

We are currently entering beta version 45...

At the moment the creation of props, growable RCI, ploppable RCI, landmarks and civic buildings (health and education) are getting close to a point where they can be considered finished.

Transportation and utilities are still in the process of being formulated... :-\

I was going to inquire as to what water plants you were having problems with. Then I remembered that this topic is about the X-Tool. So perhaps you should post your question in a 'help' forum. This one seems appropriate... (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?board=45.0)

Don't do it Alex! Go back to Windows 2000 instead! I still miss 2000, I went to XP for better wireless support in 2004 and wish I still had my 2000 disc now that its up to SP4. Heck, if you're REALLY adventurous give the new Ubuntu Linux distro Gutsy Gibbon a try. It has smoothly installed and recognized all the hardware on 5 different computers in the house, ranging from a Intel Quad Core system to a tired Gateway Pentium III laptop.

Apparently SC4 runs well using W.I.N.E., the problem is the other fun programs that are used to create custom content. I haven't had the time to configure W.I.N.E. for SC4 yet, but its on my to-do list after comprehensive exams on the 30th.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hello Lonedog

There is no schedule that I know of. And there hasn't been much new for us either. Wouanagaine is the lead programmer. He is having RL at the moment. Traveling I think. I am using beta 54. There is a beta 55 but it's not been uploaded for us to use yet.

As far as a plug in manager? There are two bugs that I know of that will be fixed in version 55. As far as a lot editor? I've only seen pictures just like you.

Obviously, everyone wants to get their hands on the XTool, but as beta-testing draws to a close, we won't be adding any new testers anytime soon, as Wou is tied up with RL for a bit.

not having direct access to the XTool but whiching to have realistic stats for buildings I set to try to figure out the mechanics of it's working by looking into the Exemplars created with as well as into the available articles ( "X" Tool: Capacity Calculations and Floorage (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2308.0) &  "X" Tool: How to Create a Growable Lot (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2306.0)).
My goal was to understand and emulate with some scripting formulas used to calculate Occupancy, Building value, Worth and Bulldoze cost, Pollution and consumption. Occupancy turned out to be the easiest Since it has been mentioned that is depends of the volume of the building, floorage requirement were published and some info on Filling degree had been given.
But I've also found some inconsistency or mistakes in Occupancy calculations, or in information given about it here "X" Tool: Capacity Calculations and Floorage (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2308.0). If calculated accordingly the occupancy will not be same as from XTool. These formulas (with filling degree of 0,5) also claim to emulate the occupancy given by PIM, wrong again. Either PIM doesn't use filling degree of 0,5 as claimed, or the floor hight is 3 not 6m... But this is a minor thins as I, one way or another, now have formula for very precise number

Pollution, value and consumption on the other hand seems to be the mystery shrouded in the deepest of fogs! First of all looking at the Maxis originals there doesn't seem to be any FORMULA as to the either of the pollution type or the wealth type. Some larger buildings seem to have less pollution the smaller one. and relation between each type also changes a lot. So I'm particularly curious as to what sort of calculations are employed by XTool... We all know that PIM is completely bananas about these numbers and should be trusted at all.

Quote from: SimFox on September 15, 2008, 04:13:37 PM
Either PIM doesn't use filling degree of 0,5 as claimed

Maxis PIM doesn't know anything of a filling degree, so if you don't multiply the volume with 0.5...
that's the same as having a filling degree of 1.0.
Title: Re: TEASER : New tool in the hood
Post by: SimFox on September 16, 2008, 09:28:26 AM
I just remembered that you've mentioned that Filling degree 0,5 will give same stats (occupancy) as PIM. So I just assume that PIM is set (by default and without explicit mention) to the Filling Degree on 0,5.
Well anyway I have sorted out occupancy problem with getting some sort of formula for Pollution and consumption. So far all my attempts had failed... :(

The current version of the X_Tool does not have import/export of textures. The tool is being written on a Vista machine.

XTool is a replacement for PIM and LE, so no import/export of textures even in the future

Not quite what you're after, but I have a feeling SFBT's "SC4Tool" can import textures, and iLive's Reader can export them (although you'll need a third program to convert them into a "normal" graphics file!)

And when Wouanagaine's life finally settles down to the extent that he can devote some free time to developing the X tool, just bear in mind one golden rule of programming:
The first half of a project takes the first 90% of the time.
The second half takes the other 90%.

If, Wouanagaine, or anyone, you are lost for ideas as to a new tool (surely this would never happen), then a batch Plug-In manager would be a really great one to have.

I think he means a version of PIM that you can choose more than one model to use (Make props, etc) at a time.
Title: Re: TEASER : New tool in the hood
Post by: joelyboy911 on July 29, 2009, 01:56:43 AM
Yes, as in so you can create similar descriptor files for many models simulatneously. Rather than having to drag each model over to the prop thing on the tree individually, and assign the values seperately too. Also, the extra functions of the reader, such as altering the time of day and chance to appear could be included also. If I knew how I would do it myself, but I do not possess Wouanagaine's genius or persistence.

Edit for the misspelling.

I think that it may be way too difficult for anyone to create , essentially "the tool to rule all tools". Believe me , when you do get your hands on this , it will make Lotting/etc. so much easier! Reader is excellent in what it can do as is , SC4tool is indispensable for what it does, so instead of trying to fix what isn't broken , we get a replacement for 2 very somewhat incomplete tools! You'll see...trust me!

Let me put it in the words of the NAM Team: "It will be released when it's finished."

Now, perhaps we should have an admin or Gmod lock this thread until Wou shows up again. he is moderator here, so he should be able to unlock it when he comes back.

His laptop got stolen? Well, there you have yet another reason to bake up your files on an external drive (be it a flashdrive, HDD, or cd/dvd, just not the internal HD).

Regards,
Korot

He did have a back up but I believe was working on it on holiday when it went missing so had lost a fair amount of work.  Maybe you should stop being so high and mighty.  Wou is developing, for free, in his own time, an amazing tool for us to use.  As DS said above, 'it'll be ready when it's ready'

Well.

The enthusiasm of the past 16 pages of posts and pics has got me sold on wanting to try out this new tool as well, even though I only last night began my own teeny steps into the world of creating custom content.

I know what a hexadecimal is, but no idea about what it does or how to use it.  I know the difference between a BAT and a LOT and a PROP and a MOD, but have no idea what a LOD is or a PIM or a T21.  I *think* I am beginning to understand how the various components of custom creation work together, but not positive.  I think, again not sure, I know the difference between a Type, a Family, a Group, and Exemplar and an Instance.  Barby has assigned me my very own range of IID's for creating Props (thanks again!), still waiting for my range of IID's for creating textures, but as I won't be creating any of either for a while, I can wait.  I am wondering if I need IID ranges for buildings I may BAT and LOTs I may create and if so, where I would get them.  I don't need an answer here, I'm sure I'll figure it out as I wend my way through the myriad of tutorials both here and over at ST.  I think I have all the software tools I need.  I have LE, BAT, the Maxis Plug-In Manager.  I have Photoshop and GIMP.  I have AutoCAD.  I have SC4Tool (downloaded and installed today, haven't opened it yet), Terraformer and Mapper.  I have Region Census and Irfanview and Gmax.  I have SCRACC and Landscape Designer.  My plugins file is an embarrassing mess filled with tons of files, many of which I am certain I no longer need or want.

Any tool that simplifies the process of creating custom content has got to be a good thing and from what I've read, that is what this tool will do.  Creating custom content should be simple and intuitive for all players of the game, not just those of us (and I include myself very marginally) with backgrounds in graphics and/or programming and/or without RL demands to fill our time.  Beyond simplifying the creation of custom content, there is the issue of standardizing, to some degree, same.  There have been many discussions on many forums over many years concerning the many philosophies regarding in-game scale versus RL scale, for example, and each creator of custom content either falls in with one group or another or makes up his/her own rules about scale.  This leads to unfortunate results in our games, as custom creations don't always balance with Maxis creations or with other custom creations.  If this new tool sets some default scale values and becomes widely used, then at least one major issue will be mitigated, if not resolved.

I, for one, am content to wait until this new tool has passed all the extremely rigorous tests its' developers are putting it through.  I have heard there is a saying in the US militray that's there's never time to do things right, but always time to do things over.  I hate that line of thought with a passion...take the time to get it right the first time.  This tool has been at least two years in development and I think a lot of the folks impatiently tapping thier toes don't fully comprehend the power of the tool or the tremendous amounts of time and energy that dozens, maybe hundreds of people have given of thier own "free" time to create it.  This isn't Maxis folks are being impatient with, with a full-time PAID staff.  These are our fellow gamers who, in many cases, forego thier own game play time to instead devote themselves to making our game play better.  They are HEROES in our community and should be appreciated as such.

So, test on.  I know the tool, while maybe not perfect when released into public beta, will at least be as perfect as the development team can make it, given the constraints of RL and the fact that this, after all, a GAME.

You don't need any personal range for creating bats, buildings, props or lots.
B.A.T., PIM, PIM-X and LE assign unique numbers automatically.
The Prop Family range Barby gave you is only in case you want to create prop/building families (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=211.0). ;)

Hopefully, this will encourage people to read the "readme" first, and then get their hands on the actual tool. ;)

Fantastic!

I've read the Guide and learn something more about lots, etc. and I can say:
It will be a fantastic tool, especially the new LotEditor which don't change the Icon everytime the lot is changed and much more...
&hlp

Can't wait downloading this tool and get experience with it...

Well it's now released so I can talk at last  $%#Ninj2 (If not, I may be face down in a river tomorrow  :D )

Having been lucky enough to see the team at work, can I just say that anyone not involved would have no idea of the time and effort that wouanagaine has put into this project, the hours would be in the hundreds.  &apls It's quite amazing to see the dedication from wouanagaine, and the great support he received from Ripplejet and BarbyW, and plenty of others a lot smarter than me.

The impact on the game is going to be huge. Congratulations to you all.

Dave
