I like the new pictures.  :) Scotch and Scotland. Belong together. The water mill looks very good in the picture. Tourists camping everywhere today.  :P This is funny and a great idea!  :satisfied:

@wallasey: Thank you  :)

@kergelen: Thank you, you'll see more horse scenes in near future  :)

@chester: Thanks a lot!  :)

@jordanfrew: I'm glad you like it  :)

@terring: Thanks very much!  :)

@dantes: As far as I remember the Scots aren't too niggling concerning camping ... Thanks for commenting  :)

Sorry for the delay ... I was into renovation of my flat that lasted longer than expected. Finally here's the new update:

We start northwards with direction to Hersonsford. This is a quite an unspectacular small town. There's some small shops, a bus stop and – of course – residential areas.

__

__

But there's some more. Hersonsford ist unspectacular, because it used to be the settlement for the numerous servants of Glenapp Castle which once was domicile of powerful Clans and characters.

__

Nowadays it is a museum. But the rooms can be rented for weddings ...

... and the court for markets.

On the northside of the Castle a small river runs into the sea.

Mainly worh seeing are the gardens which are a nice place for a Sunday excursions. In the green houses you'll find a collection of rare plants.

__

__

__

__

The town is surrounded by some farms.

__

__

__

__

On the shores of Loch Glenapp, which ensures the local water supply, Finola and Gavin rest in the old hunting lodge. The wood which once surrounded the loch was cut to give space to the agricultural areas that were needed to tend the castle and its inhabitants.

That is a perfect location for the castle. I can imagine what it would look like in reality.

@noahclem,MrMAvE94, Kergelen, rooker, RickD: Thank you very much  :)

The journey goes on westwards towards Laggan and the first parts of Galloway Forest.

First we leave Hersonsford passing some farms ....

... and Laggan Wheatmill ...

___

... and got to laggan, a small city close to Galloway Forest.

Laggan has a large marketplace with a church. It used to be a flourishing tradingplace. Many merchants travelled by on their way from the south to the north.

____

___

___

In an old stable there is a small brewery.

Then we travel on to Glentrool Visitor Center. One of 4 Visitor Centers on the verge of galloway forest. You'll get information about Galloway Forest and you can rent bikes and horses.

___

Over the bridge crossing the Water of Minnoch we go into the forest ...

___

... passing the watchtower ....

... up to Minnochfalls View.

___

___

The forest trails are ideal for walking, riding and biking.

___

And even the well is located close to Minnochfalls View.

nice waterfall. Also in the last update, i like your combination of Tahoe and transparent water to create depth. I've seen this method used before but I've never been crazy about the look, but yours looks awesome.   &apls

Dantes

Your landscaping is fantastic.   :) I like to walk with the horses.  ;)

Yeah, a really good update.
And this little trick with different ploppable water is somewhat useful. The Tahoe-Peg stuff lies a little bit deeper on the ground than jeronijs water. This gives some abilities for a good looking changeover between them.

Great job on the forest, river and trails.
