PS: I don't see any faults?

Some of the ties go out farther than the others is one I noticed, but its not a big deal, that still looks sweet.

as far as a 3 way split from a single line, there used to be one like that in my area, but they got rid of it because it created more issues when it would malfunction, clogging up the rail lines until it could be fixed

if you look at the bottom of the picture, you can see some rails not aligned ;)

EDIT:  I'll make sure I catch those in the time before release, my friend.  The main focus now is on getting out a full working set.  The fine-tuning will then be done.  Thanks, though, for pointing stuff like this out- I want TTR to be as good as we can possibly make it as of release day one. -de

Dropping in to show you this.

I like these.  Seeing them in the game makes me think of things to do with them.

There's a wide tie at the texture boundary- I'll be fixing that.

Later.

for a glance I though it was a 4 lane wide track  :-[

then I realised what it is, and nicely done

and you are welcome :)

JoeST

ahhh, now somehow that looks much more realistic than the standard rail :D awesome work David

I can imagine with switches and cantanaries, it would be quite perfect for making railyards. Maybe not a full mod but use it for the puzzle piece project that was talked about a while ago?
time flies like a bird
fruit flies like a banana

mike3775

That will be sweet to be able to veer off a realistic spur now

A couple more using the DTR DTR-W transition.

Indiana Joe

Talking Heads
Journey
Gladys Night and the Pips (didn't know this one but a quick Google fixed that)
The Monkees
Led Zeppelin
AC/DC
The Eagles

Love the transitions.  Keep up the good work!

Oh my god, I took me like 5 minutes to see each reference in the last picture, David. ~ Damn, give me some good memories!

May I :

Bullet for my valentine, Road to nowhere (I believe it's this one)
Gladys Knight, Midnight train to Georgia
Journey, Don't Stop Believin' (Here again I suppose it's this one)
The Monkees, last train to Clarcksville
Led Zeppelin, Stairway to heaven
ACDC, Highway to hell
The Eagles, Hotel California (which "Dark Desert Highway" is the starter lyrics of the song)

I must say David, that your friend was truly great to have written this!
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

This stuff really works, folks!

I'm getting really close to filling up the first cut at the initial TTR set, plus some other goodies you've seen.

Have a great weekend!  I plan to be fairly busy here, as I have some unkept promises and a few other catch-ups to do.

S W E A T!!!! (from STR-TTR down to the working pcs).

BTW: STR - W DTR would sure look great, too ;)

And, even though it is completely against my very own philosophy:

My Baby: Aeroplane

"Gimme a ticket for an aeroplane
Ain't got time to take a fast train "

The letter - The Box Tops.

Again. I DID NOT wrote the lyrics ....

Wow, amazing work once again, David! Wide tracks looking good...

Those longer ties are where the switch level or motor is gonna be, most likely.

Hi David! It's been a while, I know.

I'm so very sorry to hear about little Aidan. Life can be so damn unfair. I hope your family will be able to heal over time, even though nothing will ever take him from your hearts.

That's some nice work you're doing there with the new railway tracks. I haven't played SC4 in a while, but I still love seeing what you create.

All the best,
Marisa

Thanks for the info

I can't wait to use some of this new stuff in my cities. I'm still working on the "realism" of my cities, but with all this great stuff coming out it's hard not to achieve at least a modicum of success! Keep up the good work David!!

mike3775

Honestly, I never used STR much in my cities for rail, but the region I am playing now, I have spent more time laying out STR and rail lines, that I have yet to even put in one thing of roads yet except for the RHW.  I even decided to wait until this is available before I even start planning out the road system, because I have an idea of where I want the 3 track rail line to go, but I want to see how it looks before I plan for surrounding development/road layout

One more addition to our dream album map legend:

Your door - Long and Winding Road (The Beatles - Long and Winding Road)

With all of these wide curves, FAR, and diagonals that have been added in, this one had to be there.  On the SC4 side of things, the DTR-W looks nice and provides a way to run two tracks next to each other that are farther apart than normal DTR yet closer together than a parallel STR couplet.
