Actually I downloaded a modular university from some where.   I can not figure out where the heck I got it from.   I had trouble because there are some missing dependencies.    I posted a while back asking if anyone remembered where they came from but never got any responses.    %confuso   Maybe someone will post here that is familiar with where it came from.    I'll thy and post some pics of the lots that the buildings show up on.

There is a modular university pack at ST as far as I thought.... But it contains only the MAXIS models and no new models were made.

There has been talk about starting a Modular University Pack, I know of a few modellers who are interested in it but there hasnt been any progress since it has been proposed, everyone has been busy with other things like CAM, NAM, wou's X Tool, school, RL, etc.   Im sure one day it will happen, but we figure it will take about 20 school buildings to make an outstanding modular university, and months to complete like the MAPP project.

Well anything would be better then default setup since it's rather blocky if you know what I mean.

l.h. ,
I just sent you a copie of the above mentioned modular university.   Like I said it is missing a dependency or two (I think the University Center building and one other)    If you can figure out who made it and get the missing dependencies, let me know.

Thanks but that might be beyond my capability's. I checked them out and there was only a couple of buildings it seemed that actually needed dependencies.

Wish I had a clue where it came from.   I have no idea who made it.   But it is pretty kool isn't it l.h. ?   I'll still try and post some pics, unless you get a chance to post um.    Maybe someone will now who's it is.

I download something like from STEX. Some of the first stuff. Not really worth downloading.
Probably modded as they knew how to then.

I would not bother with them.

Yeah I actually was able to use a existing university and fit it in pretty well with where I wanted it to be.

As you can see there are some missing props on some of the pieces.

LOL   Yeah Pat.    When I first posted to this thread, I just wondered who made this.    Now I'd like to find the missing props as well.     I obviously found it somewhere I just have no idea where.   LMAO

That appears to be Woodworks University by woodb3kmaster. Its on the STEX http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=1818&v=1 (http://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=1818&v=1), and he has an account he is active on here too

JBSimio also has his University of Clayhurst, which was released onto the LEX DVD.

I make my own universities using ploppable apartment buildings for dorms, various landmark and commercial buildings. They look pretty good.

Try sending a PM to the creator here or at Simtrop.

I think the creator might have pulled these off.   I PM'd him/her over at Simtropolis and after quite some time got a response.   I seem to remember they to looked for the missing props but couldn't find them.   That was quite some time ago.    I don't recall what ever became of my inquiry over there.    If you search over there for the same topic I believe you will find the thread where I asked about it.    In the mean time I'll look for that PM over there and see if there was any else that came out of it.

As the creator of that pack, I can confirm that I removed it from the STEX after discovering that several dependencies for it have disappeared from the STEX. They're still available elsewhere, if you know where to look for them, but I don't want to make people search for them, as I don't expect the average person to want to go to all that trouble. I don't know if I will ever refurbish the old lots so that they only use commonly-available dependencies.

Once upon a time I dl'd at least one other university that had been made modular from the STEX.. its been some time and I haven't used in in some time either.. it was rather simpler than woodb3kmaster's .. more along the line of a chopped up Maxis one that could be used as a modular instead of the required XxY layout of the maxis one. This was to avoid it having to be the fixed size and to help with the "megalot crime issue". It had the same stats and function as the Maxis one as I recall (one active building and the rest were eyecandy) I don't know what or if I still have it.. perhaps I'll rummage through some stuff I had on another PC.

If you have a list of where to get the dependencies and would be willing to post it, I am sure at least a few of us would go out and attempt to find them.     I still love this university.   It has a lot of character.    Each building looks like it was built at a different time.   That is exactly the the university I went to was bulit.   Some of it is old and some new.   I like that.     As I got the dependencies I would be willing to post links as well.
