*awakens from coma*   WOW!

This is a magnificent update Yoder. I really love the Kremlinesque Citadel. those walls, and those palaces are really stunning. And the story is great too. This was definately worth the wait, I can tell you that. &apls &apls

What has my special interest is that the buildings however from different periods and styles do form a coherent ensemble through material use and recurring elements like the pilasters.

Great job.

Once again I sat mesmerised for far too long over your Citadel. I am at a loss for words and that is an unusual thing for an Irishman as I normally talk untill the cows come home!

Besides the fact that everybody else has used the superlatives that I was going to use :D

I think I should mention this now: I love MD's that incorporate unique angles and symmetry.

This is my favorite picture from your update. It's great that the building matches up, and faces the same way, with the Kremilin wall and the canal towards each other. I happen to enjoy these little types of detail. You're a great BAT'er, as well!

mattb325

Oh my - this last update was terrific. Your creations and the surroundings you've put them in are just spectactular &hlp

emilin

Yes. Very, very good looking. And I adore the intricate road network that flows so effortlessly through the lots. I can't imagine how much time it must have taken you to achive that result. &apls

This was of course the most spectacular update so far. Love all of the buildings you have made for your citadel, also the set of walls, gates and towers are looking splendid. My personal favourite is the Citadel Palace, such grand BAT and quite unique in style.
I still can't grasp how you are able to make all this buildings as well as this MD in a relative short period of time, and also maintain this level of quality.

nova vesfalo

Well I'm back from my long weekend and I'm just now starting to settle in...although it turns out I'll be leaving again this weekend...so I'm doing alot of  :-\ right now! :D

I thought I'd give some replies to all of the wonderful comments I received while I was away!

@Rooker1 - Thanks...I did created all of the buildings (with the exception of the two churches) with the hope that they would integrate well together to create a believable Government Citadel. I think I have acheived what I was aiming for so I'm glad you can appreciate it!

@Iamgoingtoeatyou - Well let me help you with that jaw...I find that tying rope around your head helps keep it from falling :D Seriously...I'm glad you enjoy the pictures.

@M4346 - Thanks for you kind words M. I hope to start releasing the buildings later this week--or over the weekend. Not all of the buildings have been lotted or modded for the larger community but I have several ready that I can begin to release (thanks to the great work of Barby!), so I'll get on that a little later. I'm glad you made the connection with the Kremlin and Red Square as that is really what I was shooting for. As for your diplomatic dispatch, I have a response developed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs below. I have just the place for your flag to rest at Sanford Palace...I'm going to pm Geoff to get the Osturland flag figured out and then I can send it your way. I'm actually thinking about Batting a consulate building (embassy) so I'll let you know what I come up with...

@Thundercrack83 - I'm glad you like it....I put alot of effort in creating the buildings and placing them in the capital city.

@Belfastuniguy - I do bat my own buildings ;D so thanks for the compliment. I'm glad to hear that I'm becoming one of your favorite MDs  &blush When you are ready for diplomatic relations, let me know and we'll set it up

@Badsim - Glad to hear you are interested in diplomatic relations...as I told M, I am considering creating an embassy to be distributed to nations who setup diplomatic relations with Osturland...so I'll let you know what I end up doing. So Antigone has Freemason roots? ah, we are practically bretheran! ;D  I understand the language gap, if I was doing this in french there would be nothing for me to say ;)  We'll have to put a request in to Geoff to get your flag flying  %BUd% it looks great, btw...below is the official response by the Osturland government about creating diplomatic relations...again, thanks for your comments!

@M4346 2nd post - Thanks for the intro to the next page  ()flower()

@Kimcar - Thanks for the comments...I'm glad you enjoyed the Citadel!

@Strechnitz - Glad to hear you liked my interpretation of the Kremlin...I've always found the real complex quite fascinating. I've really tried to integrate the buildings so that they all fit even though they may be somewhat different architecturally...I'm glad you like it!

@Sebes - Well this is a bandwagon I don't mind people to jump on! :D I'm glad to hear that you like my work...

@Bat - Thanks alot, glad to see you like them.

@TheTeaCat - Thanks for stopping by, it is always a pleasure when a newcomer to the thread/or a lurker to the thread decides to post! I'm definately up for a cup! ()stsfd()

@Eddie - Thanks for the compliments...I've tried to incorporate details into the buildings and the lots as well as the Citadel walls...although the diagonal walls were a pain in the neck to create...actually I was never able to get them to line up quite perfectly &mmm At any rate, I was pleased with the overall effect and I'm glad that you like it too!

@Mattb325 - Thanks Matt...I'm glad you like what I was able to come up with!

@Emilin - I had a fun time playing around with the roads so that they weren't just a grid, but had some visual interest as well, whether they were diagonal or going from road to avenue to road. I'm glad you like the overall result, thanks for your comment!

@Kwakelaar - I'm glad to hear you like the final product (although you've seen the development of most of these ;) ). The Grand Citadel Palace is actually my favorite building in the complex as well. I really like the effect I was able to pull off with the chimneys in particular. Well, I haven't had much time to bat or play SC4 lately since I've been busy teaching, traveling, and now writing my dissertation...so we'll have to see what kind of progress I can keep up...for me all of this (SC4, SCDevotion, BSC, etc.) is my way to unwind at the end of the day so I always like to get a little something in, hopefully it is enough to keep some forward motion going on Osturland and my other projects.

@Nova Vesfalo - Glad to see someone else new to the thread post a comment! I'm glad you like what I've developed for Osturland. I actually started with the same map that you are using for Nova Vesfalo (the Prince Edward Island map at ST) and then added to it in certain places, added a few new rivers and made the whole thing larger. Thanks for appreciating my work so far!

Well I think that is all of the replies to date...I'm not sure when I'll get around to another update, but I'm thinking this weekend I might have some time. I'm actually traveling again, but I won't be gone all weekend, so we'll see what happens. I also plan to start releasing some of the Citadel bats this weekend. Some are ready for release while others are not, so we'll see where that leads us! As for the Citadel walls, I was thinking of releasing the straight parts with the towers (if there is interest), but not the diagonals as they never quite worked the way that I wanted them too...
Hope everyone has a good evening, morning, or afternoon depending on where you are on the globe!
Cheers...

Krio

First time BATs are more impressive than maker's CJ  &apls

I can't even say my thoughts in english..it would be hard to say them in Finnish too  ;D

I sense that Force is great in you.

(ps. release the diagonals as well, please)

Antoine

In fact , we are so neighbouring that I could locate AntiGone (just a city) on Osturland Island ... we wouldn't need diplomatic relationship . ;)
I'm working on Osturland's embassy for AntiGone . I really don't know in which MD I have to post this preview .... $%Grinno$%
Finally I decide to post it there . The least I can do  in homage to your work .  ::)

Still a lot of props to add , waiting for our flying flags ...

Beautiful diplomatic certificates, Yoder! Congratulations to all who've begun diplomatic relations with Osturland!

Wonderfull embassy Badsim, and did you create those diagonal tiles yourself?

I guess the seal of Osturland is visible from airplanes flying over. :)
