Hi! I've noticed that a lot of users are making their BATs inspired from real buildings in their hometowns. I think I'd love to see a bit of my hometown, Manila here and in SC4, so here I am trying to make models of architectural landmarks in my beloved city. This thread will also be my personal journey to BATting. If there's some things you'd like to suggest to me, or tips that you'll share, please feel free to comment.

I'm a noob at using gmax. I mean, I can't understand the program. I just find it hard to understand. I'm still on the process of learning the program. As of the moment, i'm using Google Sketchup Pro in making my models.

The first of the buildings i'm planning to work on is the main building of my high school alma mater, The University of Santo Tomas. I'm planning to make a modular university set with this, and this will be a start.

I think it would be a challenge, since i'd need to replicate the intricate columns and statues atop the building's roof. I'll get you guys updated with my progress. But for now, there's a lot of things i'd need to work on.

This definitely looks like an interesting building, but, if you are a beginner, are you sure you dare to go ahead with this complex building? It might be wise to start with something more simple like a house.

Yes FrankU, i must admit i'm having a hard time, especially in replicating those statues. I chose this building to honor my alma mater, which just concluded it's quadricentennial celebration and making a BAT of my school is my way of honoring it. But yep, i'm up to the challenge. I'll be posting pics of the model I'm doing in sketchup here as soon as I finish it.
