The boats are very much needed

bat56

Hi all... thx for support... :)
I was very busy these last days and I did not progress much. New work, new girl friend.  ::)
in short, not of spare time for simcity... but i'm back!

No update today but that will come this week, promised.
I think of being able to send 5 models to Swamper77 this week. ( ship1, 5, 7, 8, 10 )
A question... I don't know if I must add people on the boats for more realism... What you think about it??   ()what()

I'm ok with your idea zero7 but that will take time to do everything.... I will have to work during the night. $%#Ninj2  :D

Stay tunned_____________Sam!

Ennedi

Very nice to see you again, congratulations for new work and best regards for your girlfriend  :)

Very good, I'm just preparing a nice place for them  ;D

It's only my opinion, but don't do it - I think the quality of your boats will be much better than people props and people will look bad on closeups

Excellent !!!!! I love your BAT !!!

Hello...

TheTeaCat: Thank you very much Sir I like it very hot... &prt
metasmurf: ... and the boats are on the way...
Antoine: thank you for the support... ça fait plaisir!
Ennedi: yes I have spare time these days and I use it. I gave up the
idea to put people on the boats, too complicated and long.
But on the other hand, three of them are finished.

I am rather satisfied with these. I would have liked to make ingame previews but in this moment
3DMAX crash to very often and when I render the models, I have only white LODs in the Reader.
The .FSH files are ok but not projected on the LOD...
Another strange thing, it does not create .FSH.tgi files.
I am anyway trustful to find the solution... but tomorrow.  ?$%kar&%h

Small preview of a new whole in creation.

All the sailing ships plopables will be, for sure, available with the sails up and down.
If I reaches that point, I would like to put them in the mayor menu, like plopables trees.
Good solution or not???

See you soon________________Sam!

Ennedi

Fantastic boats!  &apls

Boats look awesome.

The idea of making them mayor mode plopables is a good one; however, they will not float if placed in the water, they will sink to bottom.
This is a limitation that, as far as I know, can not be avoided. They could be used to plop on beaches/lakeshores, though.  ;)

Krio

Good looking boats here  &apls not good, GREAT  and think about Travis' suggestion. I would like to plop these to my shores.

Ploppable props will be underwater, so it won't work  &mmm
Back to europe ;D

Ennedi

I'm sure specialists are right. But I think ploppable props could be used not only on beaches, lakeshores etc., but also on ploppable water (and it was a part of my request  :) ploppable lakes can look good, and even better with these boats).
Boats to use on the ingame water should be made in the same way as Somy's and Jeronij's ships (but I haven't any knowledge how to do it).

The boats look stunning, you did a fantastic job on it.  As for using it as a ploppable model that would be a great idea, maybe someone can mod them that they can be placed in shallower water so they won't sink? It what would be a great addition to the game in any way.

Thank you for your enthusiasm guys, I am above and I note all your remarks.
Thx for the technical informations about the Mayor Mod Plopables, it seemed to me, indeed, that there was this limitation.  &mmm
I remembers that Jeronij created a tutorial on the subject, it is necessary that I look at there!!
Somebody can explain me how I control the height of the model in water if I makes a landmark of it???

I must say that I has just joined the TSC TEAM.  8)
That will be thus easier for me because I do not have really time and the competences for modding.

The last 2 Automata models will be ready tomorrow...!  &opr

Travis

Its actually fairly easy to make them float- just mod them as buildings, (as opposed to props), because the game will not let buildings appear below
ground/water lever. Something you might want to do, though, is render them slightly below the plane, so the hull will appear under water.  :)

Actually, if you wanted, I could mod them for you, but since you joined the TSC team I don't think you need my help.  ;)

Antoine

Im so happy to have you at TSC team  ()stsfd() you're a excellent BATer !

bat56

Number 4 ready...!

Asia

Travis: Thank you, that seems simple indeed.
And thank you also for your proposal of modding. As you say it, I have assistances for that now.  ()testing()

Antoine: I can say to you that I am very happy too, & you do not defend yourself badly too!!!

Number 5, later in the course of the day.
