An update with the next color scheme:

... with two engines
(inserted the second in the corner)

Might need to change the blue a bit on the engine in the corner.

EDIT:
This is the answer to my question from yesterday:

... and the last car type:

The Chesapeake and Ohio engine:

Next color scheme is SOO-Lines:

As you can see at the top it can be used with a few other engines.
Canadian Pacific and Boston and Maine (1st and 4th) is from Volume 10.
The two others are new engines from SOO-Lines and Lehigh Valley.

EDIT: Forgot one engine that would go well with the SOO-Lines: Tennessee Central.

Wow, that's a sharp-looking train!!  :o

EDIT:  And perhaps and even sharper looking one :D

Thank you Noah.

I am guess the edit is due to that we were posting about the same time.

Tennessee Central / SOO-Lines.

Maine Central / Kentucky Central with 3 engines from Vol 10 that can used as alternatives.

Chicago Northwestern:

Louisville & Nashville:

with a Wabash engine in the corner.

Looks great   You might want to consider using an HD terrain mod when taking detailed pictures like this.

Not sure I want to try to test my computer by doing that.

Here is a working sheet with all the colors:

First row is the starting colors. The second is the first row of colors with a lot of layers, (soft light ect) on top.
Using the second row to color in the window frames, adding some of the dirt.

Finally I got the last brushing off on the textures done. Now its just resizing (12x36 textures) and inserting them.
Have also be addressing smaller shadow issues. Look at the end of the clerestory roofs, at the end and along the side, where it meets the "base" roof.
Its especially evident on the brighter colored roofs, like on the Louisville & Nashville cars.

Yes, I know a steam engines would suit these passenger cars better and that you all would LOVE to get them.....

About half way through the modding now.

Here is a picture of the Atlantic Coast Line:

Hehehehehe... I had to try it!!! :D  You know I prefer pre-war things, but that doesn't mean that I don't like these engines!! Last colour schemes look fantastic. It seems you've solved the shadow issues, haven't you?

Looking great  &apls. Is a steam engine a possible project down the road then?  ;D

Here is what you gets of engines:

Done a new Chicago Northwestern, where the colors is tone down some to fit the new cars and removed the hatch line on the back.
Those were used on the commuter trains the Chicago area.
Also did a Spokane, Portland and Seattle. It hauled the Northern Pacific cars along their track. Used the same colors as NP.

When I picked the colors schemes and the colors tones, it has been so you can an extra combinations between engines and cars.
Like the NYLE engines, that can be used with the CO and the LN cars.

Remember that I already have released Volume 10:
