Title: Joining the GRV II Challenge
Post by: mrbisonm on March 09, 2009, 06:53:04 PM
Here you may give your name and the confirmation to participate with our GRV II Challenge.

Just make sure that you have read the Rules and Restrictions thread thouroughly  "$Deal"$ and understood everything before so no surprizes will happen to you while you're playing. %confuso

Confirm to join and BarbyW will open a sub-thread for each of you to play when I give you the official signal. Don't build anything right away,ya hear??,  because the first challenge has something to do with the totally empty region. Remember that and be patient. You may name your citytiles though.

We will wait about 2 weeks or so, and that everyone has the time to think about joining, understand the rules and restrictions and giving their name for their participation.

C'mon and join us NOW and good luck

All above now have their own child board so you can post your region picture with the cities named like I did. Just make a new thread in your board for each challenge. It will keep it cleaner and easier for mrb to mark.

Wow, this is really going somewhere.....lol.

Welcome to all the Players of GRV, you are members of the Bordertown family now. Enjoy your play, our judging and the challenges.

As BarbyW said, you can now open your region in your section in an introduction-like thread, naming your citytiles and planting trees etc.....but Hey! DO NOT BUILD anything yet, ok? We still have to be patient. Thanks.

Keep' em coming...  ;)

Please count me in.

An open invitation for the second round of GRV hit the SC4 Devotion web site and fans are lining up to play in the most fun event of all time. This round promises to be daring, gutsy, and audacious. "It will challenge the most accomplished gamers" says MrBisonM who is author, host, judge, and creator of GRV and GRVII.  Indeed, no room for the timid or fearful here. It has been promised that the challenges will either fill your city coffers with tons of Simoleans or bring you to the brink of bankruptcy. "We'll see who has the stuff it takes to be a good mayor" added MrB.

So bring on the Mayors who are skilled at building a Megalopolis.  ()stsfd()  Bring on the Sim Rednecks who can only make pig farms grow.  :(  GRVII is the only source you will ever need for fun filled evenings during the next few weeks.

And may the best Mayor win. <which is just another way of saying, the one who compliments MrB the most>

Oh, and by the way MrB, what is that after shave you use? It smells heavenly.  ;)

I'm VERY interested in participating in this challange! I can't believe I missed all that fun you had last year at ST. And this looks like a great sequel to original GRV.

So if it's still possible to be added for that great fun, count me in!

LoL Fred lets see here there is far as teams wise already here are... This list is only reflecting what the member has as a badge and not how many affiliation one might have... Anyways here it is,

[tabular type=2]
[row][head]Name of Team[/head][head]Members Present in GRV II Challenge[/head][/row]
[row][data]AC Team[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]BSC[/data][data]6[/data][/row]
[row][data]HKT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]NAM[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]NHP[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]NUTS[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]RAM Team[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]RTMT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]SFBT[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]ITC[/data][data]2[/data][/row]
[row][data]LBT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]NDEX[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]SCAG[/data][data]2[/data][/row]
[row][data]SMP[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]TSC[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]Three Rivers Region Collaborators[/data][data]2[/data][/row]
[row][data]Independent Players[/data][data]15[/data][/row]
[/tabular]

So that is roughly how many members from each team are here lol.... Sorry still in a stats mode from 3RR Collaborator list...

EDIT: added Independent Players

wouldn't this be significantly easier to navigate around if everyone had a thread in a players board rather than each player having a board....??
Title: Re: Joining the GRV II Challenge
Post by: Splime on March 15, 2009, 06:22:08 PM
It won't be too easy to navigate if players start to make multiple threads though...

Personally, I like having the board, since it gives the flexibility to make each challenge its own thread. It probably helps mrbisonm as well, since he will be able to figure out what counts for which challenge.
Title: Re: Joining the GRV II Challenge
Post by: mrbisonm on March 15, 2009, 06:46:41 PM
Exactly, it will be easier for us to navigate through the threads in each player's board. Every Challenge should be opened in a new thread named something like: "Mrb-Challenge 1" , then "Mrb-Challenge2" and so on. Points will be posted on a new board called «The Pointage Sheet» (not set up yet), but also points will be announced in each thread for each Player's Challenge for the Player to keep track of, besides the points will be explained in details in each Player's threads and not in the General Pointage Sheet.

The Pointage Sheet will contain each Challenge's Points for each Player and the position in the game at the end of each Challenge. It will be a locked thread, but updated after each session when it has been finalized.
It is all figured out, took us a few days to do so and while I am at it, I must say Great Thanks to SC4D to have given us the room for all the Boards and Threads, but also to BarbyW who organized everything so well and finally my wife Lynncanox for having had most of the ideas of the Challenges and Point giving/Judging methods.

....in a standing Ovation....Thank You.

Now I wish you, the Players, very good Luck, tomorrow we might be too occupied to play out the first official Challenge then wishing us Luck.

mrb and Greetings from Lynn who hasn't appeared much yet, but she is quite sick with a serious Cold. Hope you understand.

Merci beaucoup. Thank You Guys that is very nice of You. Fred told me about the flowers and the rest. That was funny. Thanks You.
I will be better soon. It is only that I am much tired and now I have the cold with runny nose, cough and fever. I work to hard in the greenhouse last week.
Do not worry, I will be ready tomorrow.

Good Luck Everybody.

Welcome to antn and Diggis and good luck with the Challenge, which already started.
Being a great fan of NZ (southern island) and going there for vacation and to hunt Red Stags at least twice a year, I will keep an xtra eye on Diggis.....lol. Just kidding. Have both of you the best fun you ever had with SC4.

You bet! Mostly for us to find the updates and points etc, judging will be a lot easier. I just told my wife to imagine with all those players this year, it would have been a *Challenge* for us to judge....lol.

Thanks to Barby for the idea.

I very much wanted to be a part of the original GRV, and actually indicated at one point that I would join.  RL intervened, unfortunately, and I had to let that go.  Now I'm hip deep in getting collaboration over at 3RR finally going, but... what the heck.

Add me in, please, Fred, Lynn.  This just looks like too much fun.

OOOO oooo OOO the mouse is here YAY!!! Joan welcome aboard and far as I know its not to late as long as you can build by wednesday!!

OK here is a newest edit of the chart I did a few pages ago....

[tabular type=2]
[row][head]Name of Team[/head][head]Members Present in GRV II Challenge[/head][/row]
[row][data]AC Team[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]BSC[/data][data]7[/data][/row]
[row][data]HKT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]NAM[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]NHP[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]NUTS[/data][data]2[/data][/row]
[row][data]RAM Team[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]RTMT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]SFBT[/data][data]1[/data][/row]
[row][data]ITC[/data][data]3[/data][/row]
[row][data]LBT[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]NDEX[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]SCAG[/data][data]2[/data][/row]
[row][data]SMP[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]TSC[/data][data][/data][/row]
[row][data]Three Rivers Region Collaborators[/data][data]11[/data][/row]
[row][data]Independent Players[/data][data]16[/data][/row]
[row][data]Total amount of Players[/data][data]37[/data][/row]
[/tabular]

Now included is a total amount of players!!

EDIT: Heh, Pat!  I counted 11, not 3, 3RR collaborators in the latest list.  GRVII will be a great place to scope out the sort of thing you may well see in 3RR down the road. -DE

Well it looks like Independent Players count for less than half now... And while there's no chance of me winning with all these talented teams participating, it should certainly be exciting to watch how everyone plays the GRV II.

Don't get yourself too down on all the SC4D stars/celebrities [I mean this as a compliment] joining.  Show everyone your best work and you just never know how well you'll end up doing or how big a following you'll attract!  Just seeing everyone participating in this makes me wish I had some time to play and join the fun.

Best of luck Splime... I'm gonna run by your GRV II thread and leave some nice compliments...

This is crazy, big and....this is just Great!

This is the end of Joining the GRV II. If you missed the deadline you'll have to wait for GRV III which I am already taking into consideration to open one day, either late this fall or next winter.

We are surprized how many have joined us this year, it's almost unbelievable. It will be a lot of work keeping track of this whole *enterprise* but we will do our best and personally I don't think that there will be any problems, maybe some delays but nothing more serious.

Thanks You all for coming and having joined and we both, lynncanox and me wish you good luck with GRV II.

We also would like to thank Simcity4Devotion and all its members to have invited and hosted us and especially BarbyW for having prepared the boards and moderate them for us. Thank You.

Just remember to have fun and winning is NOT supposed to be the Challenge heer, ok?
