After the Bordertown region was first discovered by the brothers Boris and Mark, things went unchanged for many years since no one knew what to do first. The newly appointed mayor, Joe, wanted to build highway infrastructures and massive airports and millitary bases. However, the Governor of the land decided that there shall be a main road and rail that runs through the region. Joe question this idea, then thought it was best to listen to the Governor since Joe did not want to be incarcerated or something of the like.

Joe's plans for the road and rail went through many test runs, and it even had a poll that was circulated throughout the neighboring cities to see what they thought. Well Joe didn't listen to any of them, and decided to place each road and rail according to the trails that Boris and Mark created.

The original path is not entirely known, but Mayor Joe did know that the brothers travelled down the river, to its mouth, then traversed it south into another land of mystery. The rail and road intersect and seperate frequently because Joe knew that Boris and Mark did not get along very often, and they often went on different paths to explore the land. But after some time apart, they realized that the other person had the better tools and equipment, so they reunited until the next fight (why the better tools seemed to be switched no one seems to know).

In the area now know as Delta City, we see the intersections and seperations that the brothers endured to the north of the river.

This is how Bordertown was first constructed upon...but at what cost? dun dun duuuuuuuuun...... ()what() ???
Wha??? Where am I? Oh, that's right! I'm here!

Now that you posted your pictures, you are not allowed to change anything anymore. We made copies and judge the originals only.

We also will not make any comments in this thread besides the judging once it is finished by Wednesday next week, but we will make useful and friendly comments in your regular thread of GRV. Points will be given 3 to 4 days after the challenge is finished and will be posted in the Pointage Sheet.
Also your points only together with an explanation and comments why we gave you these points, will be posted here at the end of this challenge.

You can now play in one of the tiles B,E or H and build whatever you want.

Cool backstory, complete with a cliffhanger too! Can't wait to see how this develops. :o

First of all let us congratulate You. You have made it through the first Mayor's test.
On the picture below, circles with letters will indicate what was important in your region for this challenge. If we say we don't like or we like, it doesn't mean that it's the same for others. We are judging to our lknowledge and what would be the most logical thing to do in our opinion, remember this.

A.  Two good choices to cross the river here.
B.  We like a lot the way the rails follow the roads or vice versa, things we see in live quite often , also an excellent idea to keep the maintenance costs at a minimum. Two excellent points here.
C.  The crossing over the grand river at this area is a good decision.
Both roads and rails follow in each other's path, which generally is a good idea, then following the river is another good idea and we had no other choice to give you 4 points for each, which is very good. One of the best in this challenge. Congratulations and good luck with the next challenge. If you would have crossed both road and rail in tile F, you would not have to build those two bridges in the lower right, and which would have given you two more points.
