What is the game scale?

Hi all,

What is the scale of SC4?  By that I man how many squares are there in a mile or a kilometer?

I'm just trying to work out the distances between cities within my region.

I know I have read the answer #somewhere# but just cannot find it.

One tile is 16 m × 16 m

A small city is 64 tiles × 64 tiles = 1 km × 1 km
A medium city is 128 tiles × 128 tiles = 2 km × 2 km
A large city is 256 tiles × 256 tiles = 4 km × 4 km

Note, numbers rounded off from 1,024 m to 1 km

One thing to keep in mind is the scale of 16m is what you use in the BAT to model.  Distances are not really accurate as far as the game is concerned, especially when it's calculating commute times etc.
