Well this is my return to city journalling/ writing my mayor's diary and so this maybe slightly rusty but I'm looking forward to writing one again and this time it should be even better than before!! In case you have no idea who I am I have been the author of past journals Ancelstierre and Ratislava. So lets begin and I can't wait to meet some of my old friends again (you know who you are!!).

Interesting start, and lots of potentially interesting story here!  Nice region choice, it looks great!

Fantastic backstory, really sets the mood for things to come. Seems like a grand project, and the map you are working with is also great.

This region is beautiful. I like the mountains. Thid will be very interesting to see how it will go.

Definitely lived up to expectation! Everything about this update was great: the story, the quality of the pics, the details in the pic, the mood, everything. Great stuff.

What is the name of the settlement going to be? Where is the road in regards to the region map, and where is the settlement going to be?

Awesome start. 
I really like the style of your pics.
Your third last picture is interesting because I have actuall seen something very similiar when I was in Chile.  They had to concrete several cliff sides to prevent rock slides.

I'll be watching this one for sure.

Great update! I particularly like the pier at the end of that street! :thumbsup: The farms look good, too! However, just to mention, in Russia (where the Altai mountains are) cars drive on the right ::)

Man, great update! The town hall looks great, would love to see where in the town it was built. I love the MED industrials, perfect fit i think. And the overview shot with the rain is fantastic!

The first shot was INCREDIBLE! I love it!

The town of Kreuzberg look great, and the farms look great as well. Cant wait to see the lowlands.

Yes, for sure the first shot is incredible! Great composition on the picture, with the mountain and the farms at the background.

Great work with the farming, the use of that sidewalk for the streets is a nice touch and give more realism to the scene. The only thing I can say is why you put the end of a power line.... without the rest of the line ?  $%Grinno$%

The third picture. There is a gray barn with an orange roof on the corner. The house to the lot is missing. The house is contained in one of these two files at the official Maxis web site ...

Great update, I love the new warehouse! The village looks great, I think the church goes very well with it. I also love how its surrounded by farms :)

You created a very intense atmosphere. The pics are very dark but it really feels like the silence before the storm ...

In Germany these wond powerplants are usually grouped together with a bigger distance between the groups but I am not sure if this is typical German or not.

Only thing I miss here is a nice railway line ...  :D

This is looking very nice, I especially like your screens of the countryside, it all look so fresh and green. The first shots with the hills around the river are just great. That grass airfield looks great at that location too, though I'd consider cutting some trees in the approach to the runways. It kind of reminded me of the grass airfields I used to land on in IL2, very cool.
The construction going on really ads to the realism, very beautiful.

I like the aerial of the small town and the meandering river picture. I like the series of turns and twists the stream takes. And like a meander through a park, it appears to move in a leisurely way. Very tranquil.

I also like the private air field you did. Reminds me of ones I've seen around and about.

Great job on the shots.  That railway would be spectacular. 

Sadly I don't know what would be causing that graphics problem.  That's a new one on me.  I know that switching to the zoning data view and back can force some of the game graphics to redraw, but I don't know if it'll fix that one.  Hope you can figure it out!

Agreed, that railroad looks fantastic. Great choice for a rail station, I especially like the way it lights up at night. The town is growing and growing fast :)

Those tidal screens from sundale are just awesome, very credible, and I really like how you plopped those plants around the boatramp!
Same goes for the rural windmills, you see a lot of those around where I live, sometimes privately owned too. Some great realistic scenes!

Looking fantastic!  The fishing village is a particularly neat touch.  I like the dock building at the top of that image. 

Sundale looks great! I really like the last picture, its totally awesome.

Hi Will, I just read your MD. Really fantastic work. You definitely know how to use the ploppable flora. The coast at the fishing village is one of the most realistic I've ever seen in SC4.

The fishing village look very nice with all the ploppable flora around the boat ramp. And it is a nice effect you have created for your images

The last couple updates are fantastic.  I especially like the last one, the quarries look great up close, but I'm not too keen on the higher up zoom.  It's also too bad those fences don't come in a diagonal version.  But these are just the finer details.  Everything else looks great.

(A late) Congratulation to the OSITM!

You did a great work of letting everything grow and develope together smoothly and organically.

I like what you did with the Il Tonko ferry terminal - I do like it but never was satisfied with the outcome of my layouts. And that ore mine is a great "ugly" eyecatcher!

Just one thing: A railway line at the shore that close to the water wouldn't be stable as a ground - maybe even sandy - saturated with water would break under the dynamic load of the railway line. It would have been better to lay the RR line behind the road.

What great rural areas!
Awesome shots with the meandering river, and I really like how you incorporated the rail in it too. Looking very realistic, and reminded me on how some small towns in the alps have their own railway stations. I also like how you're not afraid of introducing some industry into the beautiful landscape as well, really well done, and well worth checking out!  :thumbsup:

Great couple of updates!  I love that little bird sanctuary island!  The town in the latest update looks great as well!

Nice pictures.  I really like the one of the main intersection.  It looks very busy in that small town sort of way.  Perhaps the photo shopping makes it look dusty, but I picture being at a place like that.  The trucks on the main road are another nice detail.

Really nice how you are using the dirt-streets to give this feel of a town just starting to develop. Also the layout of the streets and road is like everyone just decided by themselves where to build their houses. This is a nice way to let this town develop giving it something special.

Very nice update!!! Fantastic city my friend!!!

Very cool update as usual. I do have a bone to pick though. Those embankment lots simply do not look good where you've used them. Clearly the larger embankment pieces from that set do not fit your varied slope well and look very glitchy as a result. I'd love to see your try something more flexible and maybe older looking. I forget who made them but there is a set of dark stone walls (jeronij maybe?) that have been around the community forever and might look good in that spot. Just an idea.  :-[

I love the coastal road. It would make for a spectacular drive in reality.

Superb as always!  I really like your railway scenes. 

Great update!  :thumbsup: I really like the way the rail station turned out, as well of the rest of the railways. Nice tunnels, wide-radius curves, etc.

Just a couple of announcements to make: The new region hasn't really taken off yet so there maybe a small gap before I update regularly again when I'm finished showcasing this region. Nice update I must say, Will ! I really loved this town which is very well planned. Everything looks so wonderful. The only thing I have to reproach you is the train station, you should have put it one tile away at right so the base texture fits the sidewalk. Also with Marrast's diagonal stations, you need to overwrite the rail line to ensure the traffic works properly, look you have some blank area inside the station..  ;)

Cool airfield you've done there, Will ! There are just some pieces which are not properly placed, but it looks food anyway, simple and effective. Maybe also the runway is a bit small, and need another exit for the taxiways, maybe at the center of the runway.  :thumbsup:

Right here is the final region view of the region it was a great pleasure building it but of course the next one will be even better hopefully!!
