I got a new camera and Photoshop Elements. I am still learning to use them. I never had a camera with manual settings before. But it is fun.
These are some of my first photos:

Very nice pics  I wish I had a camera with manual settings, too ;D
A small tip for the landscape pictures - don't place the horizon in the middle of the frame. Try to place it according to the rule of thirds depending on what you want to emphasize on - the sky or the land. Also, having something in the foreground (a fence for example) would make them even better
Can't wait to see what else you've in store for us ;)

Thanks for comments and advice.  :)

A steam train was passing by my balcony. Please excuse the quality. There was backlight and I had to react fast.

Oh the German all time winner socks-in-sandals couple! ;D (I grew up in Southern France; whenever you'd see a person wearing those during summer, it was a guaranteed German speaking one when getting closer -throw a few Dutch in there as well).

Some of your pictures are beautiful. Most, if not all, of them actually. Also, I wouldn't be ashamed of that first picture. Considering you probably had very little warning of the train coming, you managed to take quite a decent shot.

PS: I apologize if I offended anyone, I just cracked myself up laughing when reaching that last picture. Memories...

My favourite picture is the one with the windmill, it looks like it grows from the trees. A symbol of how nature and technology can co-exist... or maybe not. Keep it up :)

Just a pity you didn't get that steam train a little earlier, but still a good pic :D That old cupboard has got some interesting colour to it. Also I love that old phone and calculator, just looks great!

In the foreground you can see the West Harbor Quarter in Frankfurt. It was once the winter harbor where the ships were protected from ice in the winter. It has been redeveloped to an upper class residential and commercial quarter in the last 20 years.

The cogeneration plant is still in use.

Everyone wants a balcony towards the water.

The new rich people quarter has been built into the old Gutleutviertel where mostly poor people live. It is a clash of two worlds.

Construction site for a (probably) shiny new and luxurios buidling.

I guess the days of this old industrial building are numbered.

Good ones! I love your skies - my Dynax 5D usually makes them to bright. Good eye for the architectural lines and breaks!

My camera, too. But RawTherapee and Adobe Photoshop are like magic. ;) You could google "digital gradual ND Filter" for more information.  And a general rule is that underexposed pictures can be more easily restored than overexposed ones.
I have a Panasonic Lumix G2, by the way. Far from "high-end", I guess.
