Frankfurt is the biggest city in the Rhein-Main-Area, a metropolitan area of about 5,8 million people and the 5th largest city in Germany. It is also the only german city with a noteworthy skyline. With its international airport, the central train station and the surrounding autobahns it is one of Europe's most important transportation hubs.

The following pictures where taken at the station Frankfurt Niederrad and on the bridge over the river Main (pronounced like "mine").

There is an extensive metro rail (S-Bahn) network throughout the region. This is S8 on its way to Offenbach Ost.

A RE (Regional Express) train headed for Mannheim Central Station stopping in Frankfurt Niederrad.

A first generation Intercity Express (ICE) leaving Frankfurt Central Station.

The S8 to Wiesbaden Central Station stopping at Frankfurt Central Station. The train drivers are changing here. The Metro Rail Station is at the lowest level. Above is the subway station. Metro Trains drive through a tunnel under Frankfurt.

Most Rail fanners carrier radios on them (I do not) , so it was part luck , but he knew it was coming. Currently there is a transfer station being built there. It is one of Several Rail Enhancements happening in Southern New Jersey after Decades of Neglect. The line above Connects Philadelphia with Atlantic City (Future : Ocean City & Cape May) and the line below is a Tram - Train that connects Trenton with Camden (Future : West Trenton Transit Center to Millville) The Atlantic City line operates every hour and the Tram - Train operates every 20-30mins from 5am to 9pm. The Service in South Jersey is half that of North Jersey , but hopefully that will improve..... North Jersey Light Rail operates from 5am to 1am and Regional Rail operates from 5.30am to 1.30am,,,, There are 2 , 24/7 Rail systems connecting Urban Jersey with NYC via the PATH trains and Camden with Philadelphia via the PATCO...

wow... those are great pics. I'll get some of mine up of Morocco's train system next weekend... it was quite amazing that a country like Morocco can put Canada's rail system shame, I'm assuming the french must of helped out.
