threestooges

There are a few versions of this sandwich, some of which involve deep frying, this one is relatively simple and very easy to make. Good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:
Bread (whatever you would make french toast from) cut at least 1/4in thick (.635cm)
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
sliced turkey
sliced ham
sliced swiss cheese (or another of your preference as long as it melts well)
powdered sugar
jam/jelly (optional)
butter to grease the pan

Instructions:
In a bowl combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract and mix well. Dip the slices of bread in it and allow them to soak up as much liquid as they will hold. They should be wet, but should not be dripping when removed. Grease a pan over medium high heat (or griddle if you have it) with a bit of butter. Place the bread on the pan for 3 minutes of until the bottom becomes golden brown. Flip the slices over and allow the other side to cook.

While the other side cooks, place one slice of swiss cheese on each of the slices and place the ham and turkey in the pan to heat it up as well. When the turkey and ham have come up to temperature, add them on top of the cheese and, when the bottom of the bread has become golden brown on that side, remove from the heat, assemble the sandwich and dust the top lightly with powdered sugar.

Serve warm with your favorite jam (I like strawberry, blackberry, or boysenberry best).
