WOW Arthur you gone batty lol!!! Looking good so far and I cant wait to see further progress on this hotel!!!
A new batter is born. ;D Good luck buddy
thanks you, I have restarted that BAT.

looking good so far...will be back for more updates
the Novotel looks really good for just 2nd bat :)
I like it
here are some tips:
- If your computer should be slow while you work on your BAT take away the letters and add them as last detail because they are made out of a huge amount of points the computer has to calculate
-try to put more details at the windows as a frame for instance
but as I said it really looks like a great start :)
thanks you for your tips my friend, that really help me !!

That's very promisimg Arthur , makes me wanna try this Gmax stuff ::)...
Splendid bat, my friend.
Hey Arthur glad you came back to BATting and its looking good there!!!
the roof junk looks really good that far :)
keep it up!
thanks you very much !

Yes, it's a parking entrance. ;)
fantastic work so far my friend
Hello Art, nice to see you at BAT
A quick suggestion about the parking lights. Try making the light cone squared, and decrease its intensity so it is not so brigth. Also try to use a "dirty white" for the light color, so it will give it a more "underground" look ;)
Other than this, the geometry looks fine so far ;D
Thanks you very much Jacky ! Thanks you too jeroni for your suggestion, I will try that during the next week.
Hey everyone, I put away the Novotel for the moment and I start another building i really love, the Pavilion of Portugal in Expo'98 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavilion_of_Portugal_in_Expo%2798)

Your BAT looks great, but I have a few suggestions. I know it is still in its beginning stages, but nevertheless I have a few tips for you concerning detail.
First, you might want to try adding window frames to the window openings. By this I mean, create a rectangle slightly larger than the window opening, then one slightly smaller. Attach mult., then extrude. Do this again to give the frame a more realistic look. Trust me, although this can't be made out very well ingame, it can impressively add to the realism and detailed look of your BAT. I'd suggest the same thing for the doors.
Next I think that, since your roof is tiled, it could act instead as a bit of a balcony/roofdeck type of thing. Add some railings, and maybe a few frames around the lining between the roofdeck and the walls. If you add a slightly-larger cylinder to border the connection of the round walls to the roof, it will look pretty damn sexy.
The roof on the round portion of the building is tiled, but if so, shouldn't there be stairs leading to it? That would seem more suitable for the rich politicians that visit the embassy, hehe. Ladders are usually for workers and managers, so I think you should "un-tile" the roof texture and instead add roofjunk and airducts/vents.
I also think mental ray would make your building all the better. When rendering non-SC4-style previews, you may want to select "south" as if you're rendering for the game, but change your view to perspective. This will add lighting and shadows. Top this off with a mental ray setting of mental.ray.no.gi.no.high using Lanczoz filter and final gather samples 5 (in indirect illumination). If you don't like mental ray, go back to using scanline, but switch the filter from Area to Catmull-Rom.
Good luck! ;)
thanks for the suggestion Fatsuhono-san, I will try that !
here's a new project, a train station based on Tampere one, in ...... Tampere, Finland.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa08.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F08%2F12%2F090812020828801654.jpg&hash=b28a09505e7cad7d0606932c33b44bb393f0827b)

Now that looks REALLY sweat to me - a bigger modern station, not a terminus (there's no lack of them anymore!) but a through station. &hlp
Some
wishes hints from me:
- I don't know how many tracks there are in Tempere but I would love to see 3 platforms serving 5 tracks (or 3 SC$ double track
- I made the experience that the simulator has some problems with completely TE'd railway station. Please render the platforms with an offset in order to lay out a standard track there. Doing this also means that transit switches for freight trains aren't necessary
- Please make the LOD so tight that you can add catenaries of your own wish to the station. Lots of station LODs make partes of them disappear
Bernhard
That looks great Arthur, &apls
and very good suggestions Bernhard.
Robin :)
thanks a lot Robin ! :)
And thanks Bernhard for the suggestions,
You're completely right, there are 3 platforms in Tampere, serving 5 tracks ! I will do like you said, the LOT will be just the building and the platforms will be beside (like the game's little train station). and thanks for the last suggestion ! Also I'm glad you liked it !

moin art128,
not only a new avatar but a big ambitious undertaking here at bat project, too!

Can you guess what is it ?? ! :P
note -> This isn't finished thought.. ;)
House on wheels ()what()
Wonderful work on this crane! It looks very realistic already. Is it going to be a gantry crane for container handling or is it one for bigger things like boats and stuff?
moin art128,
wow, i'm really impressed ... :shocked2: ... you've done a lot of improvments since you started bating, that's for sure!
keep it up mate!
b_schlurf
Good guess Merijn, It's a gantry crane for small container terminal (like Paris's one (at Gennevilliers where that crane is inspired) and Duisburg one) !
Thanks beutelschlurf, it's sure it's very different as my very first BAT showed at page one !
here's a real picture !

Just great Art I love &apls &apls
Guillaume
Thanks Guillaume !
The container crane is going to the export, she passed by the plugins manager and goes to the LE, but unfortunately, I found some scale issue... Well, I have to resolve that very quickly.. (well not a big problem, just some error in the configurations of the gird spacing and all, that make the crane really little in the LE (around 5 time littlest of a city tile :P ! ) But hey ! )
Well anyway, I planed to make another crane (this time a bulk one :p )
Here's the original one (located in the port of Leixões in Matosinhos, Porto, Portugal. (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm02.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F08%2F22%2F%2F090822081551333304298914.jpg&hash=822c1888e7dfffeb33775db98b783cdeab0ee38b)
Here's the progress on the bulk crane :

The good old scaling issues.. Had the same issues with my port stuff ::)
I really like the bulk cranes! I hardly can't wait for them
Thanks a lot Merijn !
Here's some progress again :
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa07.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F08%2F26%2F090826025042890577.jpg&hash=72b1ace62bf92e28d3e1e31855d82e1681b015ef)
Nice progress! Every time i stop by here I see something that I'd like to put in my plugins folder $%Grinno$% Let me know if you need help with modding, lotting or testing. I'll be glad to help.
Hi Arthur,
I thought, I'd stop by. Your thread is interesting enough.
The highrise isn't my cup of tea, but I do really like the railwaystation and the cranes.
Good work!
Thanks a lot Frank and Ioan !
here are some progress on the bulk crane :

Note -> The roof isn't like I wanted, so I will redone it (first time ever I make a roof like that..)
Very nice, but the texture on the roof isn't very aesthetic ()sad()
Guillaume
Very nice work, Arthur! I particularly like the crane!
Guillaume, Arthur said that he'll redo the roof ;)
these last few projects look very cool!
But what about that tall red one? I would really like to have this one in the game
Thanks Guillaume, Ioan and aNdi !
I found a small problem today when I redone the roof.
Well, I done a line that I extrude and then I do some edit mesh, when I want to place textures, nothing happened except that the extruded line change the color from for example orange and it comes withe, white as snow.. And when I want to render, it show a small windows that said -
Here's an illustration picture :
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm02.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F09%2F07%2F%2F090907090229333304401216.jpg&hash=bb7707dd3423ed994d968a15c1674e6ea1dd3919)
thanks in advance for the future helps !
-Arthur.
I'm not sure whether I can help you (I'm using another program) but I do know this problem aswell. It mostly happened if you extrude the outlines and change the model then yet again by Mesh without going back to the "lines-section". But the texture should be there in the preview actually. have you been taken a loot at the preview yet?
So just a small tip: never change the Mesh before you added the tetxure ;)
Thanks for the fast answer, Andi ! I will try that later today. :)
Heere's some progress on the Tampere station... /&HiPP/%
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm02.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F09%2F10%2F%2F090910090136333304424026.jpg&hash=07e5fe501d8bf8a096261dba867324d4c40724a3)
That's quite faithful reconstruction!!
Only thing that I would change is gradients... At the moment they are too "intrusive" may be you could try to ease on them a bit...
Also when making beauty shot it is very good to have shadows there, they help to define the shape of your object
Just found your thread arthur and you are a natural talent at bat. The train station is wonderful, the model you chose is very handsome, and it is great to see one that is faithful to RL and long enough to be realistic. Great work.
The only thing that caught my eye are the pillars holding up the platform's roof--they look a bit too thick structurally, but maybe they are just placeholders for now?
I like the developement!
About the platform roof's thickness: It depends on their construction.
If the roof is made out of concrete (there are some examples from the fiftis and sixties - both support and roof could be a bit thicker due to their dead weight.
If the roof is made out of metal the support is ok if it is a concrete support. However metal roof are rarely plain. Most of the time the newer constructions use standing seam sheets - just have a look at Kalzip (http://www.kalzip.com/kalzip/) or Zambelli (http://zambelli.de/eng/index.html) - two rather well known producers, there are more of them.
If the support is a steel support it is too round - those suports are mostly I- or box profiles.
Bernhard
It's just impressive, and I say: excellent Arthur &apls
Guillaume
It's great that you're making Tampere station! It's true that this is a type of station that we could always use more of, but more than that, Tampere is my favourite city in the world! Sure it's not Paris, New York, St Petersburg, but I like it! More Tampere buildings are always welcome! I've actually made one myself that's waiting to be lotted.
Your version is coming along nicely. It looks pretty much how I remember it. Are you planning to integrate the underpass into the model?
psander5 - Thanks ! hmm the underpass... I'm not sure, it will be difficult in SC4 to do it.. the same with the "total recreation" because the tracks are 2 floors upper than the entrance, will be difficult to do.. If you have idea, suggestion to do it, fell free to ask ! ;D
Bernhard - Thanks ! The pillars are concrete, and the roof too .. :D
Gottago - Thanks a bunch, well, the same as Barnhard ! :D
Simfox - Thanks a million for commenting here, you're a god to me ! Well, can you point out me how to do this ? :D Gradient and shadow, I've seen your discussion about the shadow in one of your thread, I think it's that right ? if yes, I've try but the result isn't as I wanted :/
I understand. I hadn't thought about the levels. It would be difficult indeed to make the underpass possible. The only way I can think of doing it is by making the station FLUPs compatible by making the model overhang the lot. Tricky but not impossible.
I don't think it's really necessary to include the underpass though. There aren't many people that would miss it, and to make the lot overcomplicated might just be confusing in the end.
It'll still be great in any case!
These creations are too good
I've sent you PM on Simtropolis...
I'll try to illustrate it as soon as I'll have a time and access for needed programs...
Thanks !
To wait here's two shoot of the W2W corner building. It's almost finished, just need to make the other side of it. $

Very nice, but the chimeys on the roof, their colours are not so nice ::)
Guillaume
What do you don't like exactly with the color of the chimneys ?
I think Guillaume means the green color. That looks a bit off, compared to the rest of the building.
Everything else is looking great though, keep up the good work!
-Stijn-
I'd personally do the chimneys in the same color as the walls
Your new building is great, but I see one problem with it--the roof cannot sit directly on the top floor's windows. In RL, you would need a beam above the windows to carry the weight of the roof. Hope this helps ;)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa09.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F10%2F05%2F091005070718516836.jpg&hash=137473e0809a0c69708949cddecb543fb63f4356)
Guillaume - Thanks.
BarbarossaS - Thanks too !
WC-EEND - Thanks a lot Xander !

Well here's a new building !

The building looks good!
Very beautiful, but as I said on Tsc, you've forgotten to write France in the logo! :(
Guillaume
Art liking the building there and looking real sharp!!!
Nice start to the building there art. I've never really seen one in that style before (but then I haven't been to Europe in a while) it looks good though. Good details on it. I'll look forward to seeing how it develops.
-Matt
Thanks a lot, Bobbi, Guillaume and Pat!
matt, thanks very much for that comment ! Just go on google street view (from google maps) and fly over Europeans modern cities, you'll be able to see building like that !
BTW, in the past few days (well yesterday to be honest) I started a new building.. But first of all, I would like to thanks a lot Samuel for his help with the shadows, renders and little thingy of 3dsMAX.. thanks a lot my friend !
Also a big thanks to the SC4D staff who let us getting our team place, it's an honor !
So, here's the new building. It's mainy based on a building in the street "Rue de Chatillon" in the 14th district of Paris. It's a modern styled one that will be straight and will fit on a 3x4 lots. for the moment, I don't know if the upper roof ( the lower one will be a terace..) will be flat, like many modern buildings I see, or with tiles like we can see also on modern buildings.. what do you think ?

- Ah finally ! :D
Nice start Arthur... ;)
...even if it seems that you have strange spots on your roof. It's better if you always apply a standard materiel to your Mesch to make a render, because of the specific lightRig you use. ::)
Otherwise for the roof, look here:

Very very nice BAT, I like
Guillaume
Great bat there Art128 - very nice to see some more Parisian W2W buildings :)
Looking forward to see more progress.
Regards Iskrem
Wow Arthur &apls
Your batting skills are really good - I can't wait to see the last building finished &apls!
Keep it up ,
Fabian
Wonderfull idea Arthur !
There is a real lack of modern parisian W2W buildings that can fit amongt Porki/Xannepan creations.
Talking about the roof, i think you'd better stick to a mix of flat roof and grey metalic angled roof like in RL.
Wonderfull W2W.
Impatient to see the avancement.
Thanks for the comment, guys.
DEL : Yeah, the problem was from the plane I used to figure the roof... Now, there's no more problem, thanks !
Une_ame : Thanks ! Good idea.. I'll try that out later..
Anyway, I've doing some works with it. i've deleted the glasses thingy at the front, a I will redo it later, and I've attacked the back of the building.

Yeepee, more modern parisian W2W creations ; Arthur, you just make my day .
I sure would like to see some more diagonal W2Ws ::)
Thanks ! Yes, I've already though about that, Diagonals W2Ws... $%#Ninj2
I doodled a bit with the roof this afternoon...

hello folks,
I've a bad new.. Unfortunately, I lost the file of that last W2W.. but, now the good new, I've restarted a new one.. here's how it looks like at the moment !
it'll stand on a 2x3 lot
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa11.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F11%2F02%2F091102065545911157.jpg&hash=68d6865b0a76625ab2693c6ed157b11c31df8af8)
No textures for the moment.
Oh, I'm soory for you lost the old file &mmm
But the new BAT you've done is wonderful too! &apls
Guillaume
Sorry for the old bat. &mmm
But this new bat is really beautiful.
That's a shame you lost that last one, and it was a good look too. :( Well at least this new one still looks just as good so far. :)
good new beginning
Too bad you loose this nice BAT ()sad().
Obviously the new one is gonna be has good .
Well, well, well.. ** hum **
I didn't progress a lot with the W2W these days, but i plan to work on them soon, don't worry. I hope I can upload something until the 28 of this month, for my birthday. Anyway, I've been working a bit on some others projects than port stuff and W2W, So just for you here's some things i've done recently !
So first, a small office building which is located in the Montparnasse district in Paris.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa10.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F11%2F14%2F091114061537580802.jpg&hash=a82c08de2827a1cf8480deebfd29766bef801f30)
Just in case you didn't wonder, there's just the shape eh, the base will be done soon also as the details into the tower. By talking about the base, originally there's a swimming pool just under where the tower stands ( the pool is somewhat 33x15m .. plus there's two pools..) I'm thinking about doing a little one, where we can see the pool by a big window.. What do ya think ? Also, the base box will be a bit enlarged for scale issue with the real building (the one here is 12m but I think 20 is more apreciated, as its shown in this picture)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa10.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F11%2F14%2F091114062529876851.jpg&hash=a30b67b858b8aeafcf79af94ad900d925124a6c7)
Next project on the way, some modern towers located in Rotterdam.
i've started one located in the Bierstraat, near The Red Apple. here's what it looks like at the moment :
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa11.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F11%2F14%2F091114062557536303.jpg&hash=717dd160fe596d4e2c08aea0da654ac0af830188)

BTW, i think the tower is a bit underscaled, but I need the opinion of some experts. A floor is 5m tall just to let you know.
Regards,
-Arthur.
Excellent start for these bat Arthur.
The thin tower is very unusual--cool building
5m between floors sounds about right for that size building, but scale is all over the place in SC4.
Looking forward to seeing more, good luck with it!
Arthur,
Your Montparnasse buiding is gonna be a must-have, specially with the awesome SC4 Montparnasse Tower.
If U've got the time, I will appreciate to make 2 of the same kind "$Deal"$.
The other one could be a bit lower and larger (just like the real one that can be seen behind your building in your pic) and share the same kind of base in order for the 2 buidings to form a single one when you Plop them close to each other (and yes, in that case it will be W2W).
With the Tower and those BATs, it will become possible to re-create the Montparnasse shopping mall in front of the big railway station.
For your question about the pool at the base, the dark color and the commercial signs are gonna be the main eye-catching features, I don't see a real need for something else ;).
Waow, very nice towers Arthur! I particullary like the second &apls
Guillaume
Great work Arthur! &apls I especially like high rise from Rotterdam. 5m per floor sounds about right to me. ;)
Hello Arthur. I really like these BATs you're making, but I have a question for you: What has happened to all your other projects?
I liked the Hotel you were making at the start of this thread, and the train station and the w2w's. I understand you lost some files (it happens to all of us, through accidental deletion, computer failures, gmax crashes, et cetera) but did you lose all of your BATs?
Anyway, I still really like your models. I just would like to see something finished is all. :)
Joel -> Thanks a lot ! No, I didn't lost all my files, luckily.. But I have to "finish them" and to export them.. But I'll try to do that before the end of the month, for my birthday ! ;D At the moment I'm finishing the first W2W, the corner one, i'll try to post some pictures as soon as possible !
Tag_one -> Thanks Merijn ! Good to know that 5 meters sounds right to you ! BTW, I choose 6 meters for the office building ! ;D
Une_ame -> Thanks for giving your opinion, Emmanuel !
Gottago -> I don't really get your last sentence.. &mmm
Thanks all !
Yay, I'm glad the projects will be finished soon. I guess you're just a bit like me - always wanting to start a new project before the old ones are finished. :D
Good Luck!
Yeah, i'm like you, I like ti start project before to finish the others ! :D
Anyway,
Since I started BATing all the BATs like Tampere Station, port thingy and others W2W, I discovered some technical things (like right click on move , I didn't know that before, same for rotate... ) that make building easier to create ! So, I think I'm going to restart all the old projects that were made before I find those little trick.
But, i'm not here to say that without showing you some pictures !
I've made some progress on the commercial building in the Montparnasse area yesterday.. I've started the roof, and added some little details to the general structure also as the first textures. Anyway, I'm not quite satisfied with the glass texture, I think I'm going to redo it.
So without any more words, here is a shot :
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsm02.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F11%2F22%2F%2F091122121853333304912728.jpg&hash=952f4a60cf2eda3971eb316df0d83dc2355b6b2b)
Plus, a more human view :

Very great :o
&apls &aplsExcellent my friend
:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
Amazing !!!!!!!
Maybe, maybe, I'm not sure but, the windows could be darker as the RL ones (like the Montparnasse Tower ones).
Keep going !
Very nice BAT Arthur! &apls
Guillaume
Splendid bat arthur. &apls &apls
Comming along really nicely &apls
I see it is going pretty well here. I have to agree that the window texture does look odd, and might be good idea to do as you planned. Anyway I am liking the progress that you are making the roof looking really nice. :)
Thanks all !
Good news everyone, I've exported the commercial W2W (paris Montparnasse) to see if it worked well, and yes, everything looked fine, textures, glasses, size of the building ! Yay ! My first real good export !
I don't have any pic of it, the LE crashed while I was playing with it..... &sly ...
Anyway, I'll try to make the night light tomorrow, and if everything is fine I re-export it for the night version.. And, An upload will come next week, if everything turns out well ,eh..
-Arthur.
Update !
Here's three ingame shots of the building..
I have just some little problems with the roof top's texture, but it's because I used a plane instead of a box, anyway I'll redo that today, also as the nightlight and better LODs and I'll re export it.

Very nice BAT, I like, but I find the scale of one floor a bit too big ;)
Guillaume
Splendid bat and wonderfull textures. &apls
Ah great to see you tamed the Bat4Max :D
The model looks wonderful in the game and the roof looks ok to me.
&hlp &hlp
The windows texture is very good and the red stuff one the roof is a very good eye catching !!
Now, we have too find another black window building to form the commercial mall at the bottom of the Montparnasse tower...
Look's good, but there are two or three small things which can be improved. ::)
- on the roof, the small ladder (l'échelle en français) is too big and false the representation of dimensions.
- texture one the top roof of the building need more work, it look too plain.
- the base look over scaled, try to add detail which shows the real size.
et voilà my little comments, you are close to the goal.
DEL!
Thatsso funny!!
the apartmentbuilding you are batting on the Bierstraat Rotterdam, a friend of my lives on the 19th floor in that building!!!
lol i would love to show him his apartment ;D &apls
i live almost next to that building! maybe you can BAT mine aswel :P ;)
keep up the good work i love your BAT's
Thans all !
Fledder200 - Hehehe, that's a funny yeah ! :D Wait a week or less and you'll get more render of the Bierstraat that you'll can show to your firend .. I'm still working slowly on the base ! What is your building ? If it's not too difficult (well at least if it's BAtable) I can try it as well !
Delecto - I've reworked the layer, I think it looks okay now ! The top roof texture, for this point I agree, I'm myself not satisfied with it too, I've put the texture a bit below, tell me what you think and if another texture, with a link ( ;D ), is needed here ! As for the ground floor, well I think it looks okay from the photos and real impression I get when passing tough the area I think the high of it is okay.. But I can always put the high down a bit of you want ! For information the high is 13 meters.. Well now that you said that, I think it's a bit too much, what about a high of 10 meters instead of 13 ? As a sims is 4 meters tall I think from the shot of Google's Street View it's approximately 3 times a real people, so I thought, when I was making the building that 13 meters is enough for that !
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fnsa11.casimages.com%2Fimg%2F2009%2F12%2F09%2F091209031251551771.jpg&hash=2cb355bcbddf8857126551d466f30f412e5941b9)
Wow, Arthur, my friend. You really are a really good BATer and I wonder if any of your buildings have been released yet? Have They?
Ethan
eeeehm.... No... &ops But i'm trying to do correct light for this one and I'll upload as soon as possible, well at least when it will be ready ! ;D
Try to show us renderings at zoom5, it's better to help you. ;)
my advice would be...
- dirty the fans and satellite dishes.
- give more perspective to the side windows. Try to extrude the gray part outside, not much but just enough to give him consistency.
10 meters for the base will look better i hope, not sure. &mmm
Oh, and I always put 2 or 3 Sims on my lot, it's better to interpret the dimensions. ;) but it begins to be very well!
DEL!

For the satellite dish, I can, just give me the appropriate texture. (I can't find any that fits well here &mmm ) As for the perspective of the side windows, I'd like, but it's a simple plane with a simple texture.. So I don't know how to extrude only one part of it (if you know, let me know ! ;D )

Hi Arthur!
it looks amazing! the week after xmass i'm meeting him, when i go there i'll make some pic's for you oke?!
my building isn't that nice and high, but it's a nice one.
the pics below don't do any good for my building but it would be cool if you BAT it!
my building is located on the most far right on the second pic. there are 3 same buildings and onderneath the apartments there are "health shops" like dokters, daycares and dentest offices
the "laan op zuid" is called the health boulvard and is one of the main roads to the city center
i will even dragg my poor little body trough the snow to make some real good pics foor you if you like lol
and if you like to have more pic's of buildings in rotterdam, i can help!
juist scream and i will see if i can make pics!

Hi Fledder200 !
Thanks for your future helps with the pictures, it's very kind of you !
Your building is also really interesting, some modern buildings like that, is all I love ! I'll try to do them when I'll finish the others projects I have on the way ;D !
BTW, the future days are only for BATing (I get bored of SC4 because of 3 crash without a saving on my poor capital.. &sly )
So an update to come soon !
Nobody again to comment my BATs ? ()what()
Well you can expect that for yesturday and today, really probably at least around this holiday... Looks like some nice work you have done since I last posted, everything is shaping up nicely...
Always a pleasure to see yours among there other great Batters out there. :)
Thanks Tamorr ! :)
Well, today I tried to export a W2W building, but when I exported it, 3dsMAX give me this error :
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg34.imageshack.us%2Fimg34%2F2342%2Fsanstitre1zlb.jpg&hash=b34d7de0814801193d3ca80d342d8835b6c9aebc)
What that means ?
after some quick googling I found this (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=3493.msg107654#msg107654) post by callagrafx and this (http://www.simtropolis.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=37&threadid=87426) thread over at ST. After reading both, my guess is that it's caused by nightlights.
Yeah, the nightlights... But I can't find any tips to solve that problem.. strange, should I export it without any night lights ?
errr... I suppose you could ask Simfox, I'm pretty sure he'll know the answer (seeing as he created BAT4MAX)
Yeah.. I'll try now.
I'll post the answer to my question when he'll replied. :)
Hey !
I have somethings in my BAT workshop..
I've done a little I-M warehouse based on a small industrial building near oeiras, in Lisbon's suburbs..
here's what I have done with an ingame result !

Anyone have an idea of this problem ? (Sorry DEL for asking you by PM, but I needed to update my BAt thread :P ^^ )
Oh and btw, I plan to redo the roof texture, with a more blackish one (like the one Ferox used a lot for his W2W series )
And here's something I bring back from the older files :

Stunning work Arthur! The warehouse looks good (in zoom 4 :P) and that crane is just awesome!
- riiga
The crane is superb .
BTW, do you have some updates for the Montparnasse shopping mall buidings ?
Riga - Thanks ! ;D
Une_ame - Yeah, the Montparnasse mall building.. well, I'm trying to find 3 hours to export it :D Day and night version ;D
Waow wonderful! Sorry Art, but I can't help you ()sad()
Guillaume
Arthur, can you send me the SC4Model of your warehouse? I will have a look in the Reader!
Try to make new LODs for the building, (new gmax file).
You have to show your sims how to park the stack of barrels. How did you get it placed them through the wall ! &mmm :D
I love the crane ! for your BAT it is nice too ! and for your problem as vester do a merge in a new gmax file ! ;)
Soon to the download section .. (at least, the STEX.. :D )

Wonderful!! &apls
Guillaume
Nice bat. Great idea to put the corrugated roof metal texture on the door. It's very effective. The lot looks good too and has a European feel because of the brick wall but will fit well in any city.
Woow! Great warehouse.. Looks very nice in European &apls
The warehouse looks great, it just needs a bit more dirt and detail on the main roof. Right now the texture looks too schematic, especially in comparison to the very realistic corrugated roof. The rest is really good!
You should also release a non-HD version--HD is only recommended for very small buildings and props, as it puts a big strain on the game's rendering resources for anything bigger--and the user can then choose which to install for their system.
Wonderful ! But as on TSC the texture of the roof is not very good &mmm and if tou want to do an export you can change the FSH ;)
Thanks !
I'm proud to announce that the warehouse has been uploaded at the STEX and the TSC-EX !

It's not finished, I still need to work a bit on the details, such as security fences and the cabin of the crane, the textures and the lighting.
Man, that's great.. I think they'll looking good on an industrial area :)

One of the 2 bests container cranes I've seen so far !! Keep going .
looks like I've missed quite a lot during my week in amsterdam $%Grinno$%
But did you miss anything in Amsterdam?
Nice cranes! Beautiful for container railway stations and smaller inland container ports. I like them!

Excellent garages for my rural cities &apls &apls &apls
These garages indeed look great. Hoping to see them released soon!
Hey guys, today before going to sleep i'll get back to work on my BAts, i hope to finish one today.
Sweet, thanks Arthur !
How about your Montparnasse commercial mall buidings ?
Okay guys, i'll try to get back at bating during the summer holidays !
Good news Arthur !! Good luck with the new projects
I agree with kelis, it's a very good news. I can't wait to see your new BATs ::)
Very good news! I wait for your BATs!!
Guillaume
Thanks all! after two months, I can show you this preview of a train station i've been building for my city "Vorkuta". It is inspired by Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof. I'll make two more versions without the text on the facade and one of them will be terminus (as Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof)..
The text is temporary for itself as you see it, i'll completely model Cyrillic letters of the same "Vorkuta Central Station". Also I need help finding a good roof texture for the biiig one (IN WHITE), if anyone has one!

Yes, nice station so far...
Wow! Nice to see your new BAT &apls

a new picture this afternoon!
well, where is it? I'm joking :D, take your time ;)
Looke great, I think the brick need some work, but over all it looks great, can't wait to see some more updates. :D
Aehm...
Well it's not really european properly said, but it still can be used as.
Just a quick preview of a station I did. Central platform, level crossing. It's going to be a pack of three stations, which will be evolutions of this first one ( in order: -> two platforms serving two tracks ( 1x16m tile), either a level crossing or a elevated way. -> third one will be three platforms, serving a total of four tracks ( 2x16m ) and will have total access via over walk )

Anyone have suggestions, critics? this one is pretty much ready i think
Simple yet elegant design? Check!
Proper textures? Check!
Decent nightlighting? Check!
Looks like a job well done to me
great station Arthur! i love the simple design.
not european? it would go well in any Portuguese city I say :P
Gn_Leugim - hehe, true that. :P thanks for the comment amigo. ;)
thank you as well Nas-t and vortext.
and here is the latest preview.
I changed the roof texture for a lighter one, according to a comment I received on Simtropolis. I have to say I like it with this one.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg26.imageshack.us%2Fimg26%2F7181%2F23981350.jpg&hash=6fe73f177e5e6afe36ac81e77ff1bb892a79c614)

EDIT - forgot to reduce the picture's width.
That was a good suggestion indeed. Also like the added reflection on the turnstile, though maybe you should add bars or something to it (for (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/dd/Toranomon-Station-2005-6-12.jpg/800px-Toranomon-Station-2005-6-12.jpg) example (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/2/2c/Turnstile.alewife.agr.jpg/800px-Turnstile.alewife.agr.jpg)), otherwise folks can still walk onto the platform wihout checking in.
Vortext - Thanks for the suggestion, although there are no bars on the original one! :P

And now seeing this picture I feel like I forgot something... Oh that's right, the two panel telling the platforms!
That's looking really nice Arthur! It's not even rendered and I can already not wait to put that station in my cities :)

I'll second that! &apls
I'm embarrassed to say I didn't even realize you BATted. This one is simple and perfect. I'm also hoping you continue and do more stations--we've had a couple good chats about realism in station length and I'd imagine you could design some very realistic stations
Suggestion: some grime on the brick are, on the base of the platform, would look nice. after all is where the gravel and stuff goes :P
That is a nice station. I have to say the ticket machine most catches my eye - it's so realistic. It also caught me that it didn't have any bars, but as you point out, some don't.
Thanks guys!
I'll take your suggestion into account, I'm going to make the platform again with a custom ground texture which will fit the whole thing. :P Render later this evening. ;)
I'm also going to change most of the metal textures, as suggested on ST.
Looks great! How about lengthening the shelter a bit? :P
Thanks guys!
Here is what I got so far.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg89.imageshack.us%2Fimg89%2F1728%2F22687215b.jpg&hash=85a3a06100fd45625b7a6631b4cf4e8fc813de15)
I'm not really satisfied with the foundation texture yet.
Looks already good, work with the textures is well done :)
I'd say the foundation texture looks quite good as it is--nice work &apls
Thank Noah and Girafe!
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg841.imageshack.us%2Fimg841%2F4883%2F52470230.jpg&hash=7acbce6b0582357ed61c71a1209210e09f2beee7)
I prefer the first version of the plateform but it's my taste. After do you have just a tiny pb with your metal which is more chrome and should be more like aluminium (less reflexive)
well my taste differs from Girafe's. I like the second one, with depth better :)
Where is the like button? A, here it is!
The foundation looks good, though it could use more dirt. Also, I like the previous entrance with railings on each side better, in addition to the seats being further away from it. &mmm
The seating-ticket spacing is a little tight, looks like it would get congested, and the ticket machine nearly disappears, it's so reflective. No ticket machine is that clean beyond the first week or so of service. I'm a little ambiguous about 1 handrail versus 2, or even 3 - they all make sense in their own way and look OK. I think the latest foundation works well though. There is some weirdness in the foundation at the tip of the platform, like it should be squared off, or something. Overall looks good though.
So, I would slide the whole seating area about a bench-length or so further down the platform, and dirty up the metal parts a little.
Thaks guys!
Yeap Girafe, I'll be getting to work on the metal when the modeling is really done. Thanks for the advice here and on ST. ;)
Thanks vortext, though I tried to make it as close to the real one as possible. The real station ( Mitaki Station [ 三滝駅 ] , on the Kabe Line ( third stop from JR Hiroshima ) ) has only one railing in the middle. But I do agree with you that two looked better and safer. I'll see if I'm going to switch to three ( two sides one middle) or come back to two. :P
Thank you for the feedback whatevermind. I do agree with you about the spacing. But instead of making it full bench space, I am going for a half bench. Can you please explain further about the foundations of the platform? I do not understand quite well what you mean. About the metal material, I agree once again with you. After some more modeling work on the platform I am going to change all the metal materials for the railings, pillars and machines. I'm still a little new to that so I will take some time to get it right. :)
Thank you both Gilikov1994 and gn_leugim.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuppix.net%2F5%2Fe%2F2%2Fbb1ac6342db4efdfffd9d69b03b5b.gif&hash=23dc7bf0f2be734661c4d0079212645a0fdc73f6)
OKay, here is what I've got.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg600.imageshack.us%2Fimg600%2F8596%2F53203324.jpg&hash=4a51a8eaf319068f101d819a6ff09eb46bf862af)
So i've moved some things as Whatevermind and vortext mentioned. ( thanks guys. ;) ) I also made some work on the ticket machine. Not sure if the metal material look alright at the moment.
Still to come. Some more modeling. and textures work for the metal materials, the roof and the pillars.
I've got a question.
As you can see on this picture of the station (below) there are wild shrubs growing at the end of the platform. Do you think it is a good idea to make them? Not in the bat, i'll lot them of course. But should I?
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuppix.net%2F4%2Ff%2F9%2F1da717b639535dff2d5404c90cb32.jpg&hash=947fcd2cf2b9d93468ed8f374e200655128f6852)
Looking good
I'd be interested to see how the shrubs look and there's no reason not to at least see what it look like. It'd be nice to see what it would look like with planned shrubs also, instead of just trying wilder looking ones.
Now it's my turn to echo Noah; looking good  ;D
Thanks both!
Then I'll make put both wild and non-wild shrubs in the LE later.
In the meantime, here is a preview, in the changelog: Roof texture, pillars texture and hidden platforms numbers (;_;)
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg40.imageshack.us%2Fimg40%2F8186%2F41152991.jpg&hash=ac37f930c2f59e0fefc7b6d776489126320728ca)
Still not satisfied with the roof texture though.. Now I like the roof
It may have been a rendering mishap with the foundations, the last two pics look fine. I was referring to the far end of the platform (where the cross fence is), but it looks fine now.
Is looking very good.
I like the textures and the balusters.
change the roof texture why? it looks nice :) as all bat :)
great details! &apls
maybe adding a trash can next to the advertising space?
Thanks guys!
I did change the roof texture, Gn_Leugim because the previous one was too brown, or too light grey in comparison with the real roof. But now the texture is good I think.
I'll take your advice into account, Nas-t and add a trash can for the next render.
In the meantime, i did some play with the metal:
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimg513.imageshack.us%2Fimg513%2F4664%2F91842048.jpg&hash=1ab1507373091c15cae1d8a6d4b09a7922faaade)
Very nice train station Arthur, I would love to have it for use in my cities. ;)
On a side note, if you were to make a US type version of a station like this one, you'd need to have a rail down the center the entire length of the station stop...such are US safety codes. You might find it interesting exactly how different the same station would appear based on the country it is built in.
&apls
jsut one thing, I don't know if you have adressed that already, but the ticket machine could use some texture work on the side of it, looks too bare and grey (maybe is not textured at all XD)
also, a preview from other orientation would be good :)

Hmm...Not around here they don't do that. $%Grinno$% The one regional difference that did catch me as odd is not having the yellow stripe at the edge of the platform, but instead being set back. But, from that photo he posted a while back, the yellow line also looks to be doubling as an aide for the blind. Or maybe it doesn't mean edge-of-platform wherever that station is anyway, which explains the set back and the additional white line and then even more buffer space to the edge. &Thk/(
As requested from Gn_Leugim, here are preview from other orientations.
For your information, the platform is 7.5 tiles long.

so lovely! &apls
Great work on the platform! It looks very real. &apls
Looks great and seems to be around the right length as well.
Though imho it would be better to move the shelter from the entrance still a bit more. If only to make it more interesting visually because the end of the platform is quite an empty stretch.
That said, those platform numbers are outstanding!! :D
Looking forward to the first ingame images!
wow didn't realise how long it was :O it looks lovely in all angles ;) &apls
Thanks guys!
And I still find that the smallest correct length for a station, Gn_Leugim All the others 4 tiles long platforms are ridiculously small.
Here's a render for you vortext, with the platform numbers. :P About the emptiness of the end, it's because I'm planning to add some flora via the Lot Editor.

Like I said I'll await the first ingame shots. ;)
I agree, 4 tiles is short. 7.5 will be good.
Good job, the model is perfect.
I am not saying the station is wrong in length, I just hadn't idea it was that length. ^^
The station is looking great Arthur &apls It looks about ready for LE I think....
Thanks guys!
Vortext they are coming, I'll export it this afternoon!
Gn_Leugim, I know :P I was just saying that :)
Noah you're right, it's about time to export this!
I take it from your comments that you are planning some planter boxes with shrubs and/or flowers for the 'empty' end then?
IMO it will look fine with or without them. With them it would have more green appeal, without them it is simply utilitarian...functional but not 'pretty'. You could even go so far as to have 2 versions, one with the greenery, one without, if you so desire.
Its looking very good as it is. Well done thus far.
Hello everyone
I decided to leave the platform empty of wildness, it doesn't look that nice with ...
Here are two ingame shots.
There's a little glitch sometime ( almost all the time ;_;) with the concrete path texture.. as it is one texture overlay with the rail crossing and the concrete, I had to use another overlay on the other side.. And I guess you all know the game doesn't like when you out two overlays on the same tile. The glitch make the concrete appear OVER the rail overlay on the other side instead of going UNDER. It's quite annoying as it happens most of the time in close ups.
Also do you find the station over-scaled? Someone told me that it was too big..
Also² I can't find good rail textures which makes two tracks centered and then two tracks on the sides, I had to use a standard junction and then cover it with some flora.

Looks nice though it does appear a bit too big. Then again, I also feel most Japanese BATs are underscaled. . So maybe compare it with other content.

Check out WMP Megatexture Pack at the bottom of the page (http://workingman-productions.co.uk/downloads/wmp_props.asp) , I think it has everything you'll need.

I love a good center platform station, and there's only one other that sticks out in my mind at the moment, so this is certainly a welcome addition. I realize the practicality of implementing the design in the game could be a bit cumbersome, but have you thought about an over/underpass for the busier lines so that people don't have to walk across the tracks? I know that runs the risk of visual paths to nowhere, but having seen several such additions in Real Life where cities are afraid people will be too stupid to stay off the tracks, it seems like it could be a neat little (and highly unnecessary) detail.
-Matt
The size looks fine to me. I'm guessing that it could service 3-4 passenger cars down each side. Granted I've only ridden a passenger train once in my life, but IIRC, the station platform could service about half a dozen cars.
The one thing I do have to compare it with locally is the loading dock at our old (now gone) oil mill. The concrete platform was large enough to drive a 1 ton truck down and was at about a couple hundred yards long. (1 yard = approximately 1 meter). Of course it was designed to service both cotton trailers and tanker cars, which explains the large size. The dock itself ran along the width of 2 or 3 warehouses and the length of the oil mill. I haven't been out there in a while, so my memory on the exact layout of the facility is a bit fuzzy.
will be a good addition indeed, great work ;) &apls
Looks awesome Arthur &apls
I would suggest moving the model so that the end of the platform furthest from where people enter the station is closer to where the tracks come together. It looks like it could be almost a tile closer to that spot and I think the station will look much nicer if the tracks run close to the platform
Wow :o Look great  Because I like green base texture more than cement :) Fantastic pitures at this way &apls &apls &apls
Wow!!! I have to say you have done a great job on these.
I love the first four pictures, they make the station look a lot better. :)

Agreed, it would be nice if the tracks followed the curve of the platform.
Thanks guys! I've put the platform more like you had suggested.
I need help concerning the pathing, how and with what I am able to path the station so that the trains follow the tracks?
Great work. &apls
&blush :D
About the size though, in the fourth pic it looks like the tram would have some serious trouble opening the doors as the platform is almost half the height of the carriage. In addition the turnstile seems to be about the same size as the van on the road behind it. So yes, I'd say it needs to be scaled back a bit, especially heightwise.
As for pathing, up untill now I haven't bothered with it yet (though that may change in the near future as I seem to have some unbridgeable gaps in my transit system otherwise %wrd) but Daeley's Pathing Tool (http://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=546) seems to come in handy, as well as this tutorial by Mandelsoft (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=11023.msg329941#msg329941). The latter is for puzzle pieces but surely the section on pathing contains relevant information.
Thanks for the input vortext. I'll try to scale it down a little ( not too much though) and render it for the weekend.
And thanks for the links about pathing! Looks like I'll have a busy weekend!
And here are the latest shots. The station got resized. I think it's good now.
Left to do are pathing and Read-me.

JR stands for Japanese Railway. The main company for the railways in Japan. :)
Awesome station Arthur! This is really something I missed in Sc4!!
Just one quick note.. Shouldn't there be some kind of alarm signals or at least some warning signs at the railway crossing?? Dunno how those things are done in Japan though.

There should indeed. I was going to model them now and put them as props. ;)
Awesome! I think this one will pop up everywhere in my suburbs ^_^
Thanks Merijn. :)
So I'm creating the props now. Before releasing them, what I need to do? Get a range or something?
Looks great, it really sits snugly inbetween the tracks and the size is about perfect as well! &apls
You don't need a ID range for prop exemplers, the SC4PIM will handle that just fine (based on date & time I believe).
Unless you want to put the props in a family, in that case request a range over here. (http://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=2490.0)
ooooooh, that's excellent for use as a station for slightly more rural locations.
Xander
Aaaaahhhh, yeah! Beautiful! &apls
Looks like a winner! One perk, though: how do people get on the platform? I'm not sure if I'm seeing a stairway under the roof (or is it just hidden?)
Cheers
Willy
Thanks guys! Willy, to enter the platform you have to cross the tracks ( as it is in the real Mitaki station)
Well i think it is almost ready.
See post below
Boom barriers, Cross panel and security railings are all separate props that will be released as a railway_PropPack_1 in the same time as the station.
So far the dependencies are just my props and Neko's planters with shrubs.
Yeah, I love separate props since I can make other use of them :D
And eagerly waiting for the release &apls

If not I'll have to find a good alternative to host pictures online. Free with a lot of spaces ( 500Mb being enough for the moment ) ...
I use photobucket and so far no issues to me
I'll take that into account, Gn_Leugim. Going to wait for more options so that I can choose the best of the best.

I browsed a page back and now I see. But you should combine your first texture with the current one, because the sleepers are still showing which doesn't suggest there's a crossing (at least not a safe one, wouldn't want grannies stumbling between the rails). I don't think it's hard to do, just paint concrete in between the rails.
And good luck on the pathing!
Cheers
Willy
Hello!
Just to tell you the station is almost ready. I still need the pathing, which I don't understand a bit.. If anyone familiar with it would be bale to help me... :P
I know how to create the paths, but to assigne them to the station, nop =\ which is, if we think a bit, very silly, because is like knowing how to make an apple pie and then dont know how to eat it XD XD
Thanks to the great help of Moonlinght, the pathing has been done!

Good start, what's the new bat, a house?
hehe, it was the abbreviation of the building. Ikejiri Institute of Design, It's a school located in Shibuya, Tokyo. Though it's put aside for the moment I had a scale issue.
In the mean time I started a building. It's inspired on this building in Tokyo.
It'll be 2x2 straight.

Nice to see more details filling out. Great job with the roof again &apls
That roof looks great, and the black outlining on the windows make it look it has more.... Depth? &Thk/(
Seems you are off to a good start with the office building. I have to concur with others, the roof is nice, mostly because it is unique. It gives the building a personality. So far, I'd give you a 9.5 out of 10 on the rating...you have done very well in your modeling. &apls
That said, I'm not quite sure I understand the significance of having a stairway to the roof and the crane on the roof of the actual building. Is that how they bring cargo deliveries into the building? I have to admit it confuses me, as it is something I have never seen before. ()what()

The crane is just a quick try I did to see how it would look on the actual building.
And no it's not a LNG tank. ( $%Grinno$% ) it's just a water tank. For some reason I don't fully know it's very common on Japanese buildings.
I'm waiting on Mitaki station's read me and installer. Once done by Gn_leugim it'll go to the LEX scrutineers. :)

.
No LNG tank, we're safe! :D
I do get the water tank on top of the building, as it is common in high rises everywhere. Piped water systems require constant pressure in the pipes, in order to have decent water pressure in high rises without having to run pumps 24/7 (expensive), you pump it into a large tank on top of the building and let gravity provide the pressure in the pipes. The exact same principle for having water towers to feed a towns water system...gravity keeps pressure in the pipes and water flowing from your taps when you turn them on.
The building is coming along nicely. Your current version of the roof is much better now that all the stuff is on top and the stairs are a bit more narrow.
Looks great! &apls It is exactly seen around Tokyo Station building :)
Thanks guys!
Here's a little progress. That's all I'll post today i think..

Wow very nice work ! :) Love the details on the roof.
And btw, the train station is amazing !
Thank you benoit!
The train station will be ready soon enough. Gn_leugim in charge of readme and installers, and then LEX scrutineers, and then upload!
Here is some more progress. I think the crane is ready. After all I've been working on it for five hours straight.....

Man, I wish I could be a LEX scrutineer and test out the amazing things that you guys make. :'(
Ha Ha, really like the window washing basket. :D
Looking great! The window washing platform is really cool indeed
Looking good  How are you planning on implementing the crane in game? It's definitely a cool detail.

Static in the first picture place, I think. ;)
Nice building!
As for the crane, why not mod the lot to have an invisible building (i.e. small BAT box) and turn the building into a timed prop?
Looks great!!!!! :D
Arthur I applaud your initiatives and new direction in your career. I've always respected each infinite BAT-er in the community as they make some of the most necessary and interesting things - new buildings.
Lovely building Arthur! Love the bmu with the washing cabin! ;)
Thanks!
Here's some more progress. Modified the bmu and the roof junk a little.

Quite good so far, but. . . are you going to keep the planters in front on the pavement? Maybe it would be better if we could put a prop there instead? So we could pick which ones?
Cheers
Willy
coming along great :D I like those bushes :D
Still looking great &apls I prefer the bushes as they are, though I see the point in having more options for lotting. One disadvantage to the lotting method is that I'm not sure suitable HD bushes and planters exist. On that note, do you think it would make sense for you to implement the same bushes and planters you're using as props instead of part of the model? I'd love to be able to use them on other lots
Thanks guys.
I could render the bushes as props indeed. But I'm afraid the one on the model will be part of the model.
Here's some more.

Z5 looks very nice there, though why is there a window washing cart only on the perspective? ::)
ya you got me looking into the other pics searching the cart... I know, that's the purpose, make us look at pictures again? ;D
Looking good! I'm glad you added the X's back onto the roof, they give the building a lot of personality. I think I liked the earlier/bigger version of them better, kind of had a more laboratory/industrial look to the roof, but this nonetheless a beautiful building. Good treatment especially of the lobby and the crane. You've been through quite a few crane variations on this one, any chance we'll be seeing some more of these? ;D
Looks as though you are getting closer to done. From my point of view, the bushes are just fine as they are.
Are you to the point of just needing textures or are you still working on the geometry?

I still need to model some details on the lobby and the penthouse. And maybe some more roof junk ( " mysterious white boxes" as moonlinght call that :D ), then textures and night lights.

I agree with you that the X steel looked better when they were bigger. It's on my list of to-change things. Well considering there are quite a lot of different BMU design, I might do some more! But for this building this one is definitive I think. ( even though it is not like the original).

Good progress.
the wall texture needs a lot of work to be at the same level of the modeling IMO.
it is too bare, detailess, gradientless, in some way, it's not alive. roof textures could use some of the same solution, but, as they are used in a smaller extent, it is not so noticeable, while the wall's is.
thanks nbvc!
Gn: yep, the texture was just a quicky i made to see how it would look. I'll try to add a gradient and see if I can work a little more the tiles ( it's marble, btw, as the real building seems to be). Gradient is black bottom, right?
Actually for the roof ( where the rails are) I have no idea what to do.
(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fuppix.net%2F2%2Ff%2Fb%2F13f90a92308610e0997636f1b902f.jpg&hash=4706f4301a74662e1326ce1f9799a3222fdca766)
Here, it looks like.... Wood?
Maybe dirt up the asphalt roofing, maybe add lanes or tiles to it.
Could recommend you to look at arroway.de (http://www.arroway-textures.com/).
They sell textures, but do have lower res. sample for free download. The stone textures is pretty good.
to me they look something long stripes of asphalt layers, something like these http://www.cgtextures.com/texview.php?id=69298
But darker.
and yes, usually the gradient is bottom to top, darker in the bottom ;)

Aren't they a bit big? Judging by the window size. . .

Nice building! Those chairs are indeed quite a bit too big, as Willy said. And, how in engineerings name is that window-cleaner lift going to round do that corner? other than that, nice work!
I like the tables behind the window.
For scaling of models it is always good to place a person, which has correct size in game, on/near the model.
Thanks guys, I hear you about the oversize of the furniture and I'll correct it. ;)
Any of you has some tips about the textures?
Looking good arthur &apls Sorry I can't think of advice that hasn't already been said and don't have any building texture light to shed $%Grinno$%

The final work is awesome  your japanese BAT-Art ist so good as uki & moonlight as ^^
Ooh, very nice. I love that blue texture.
Looks very nice there, Arthur! It fits really well among those other buildings. For the windows, perhaps you can try something like Aaron Graham does, i.e. applying a satellite view to the windows? I would leave everything else as it is now.

Hi Art, perhaps this will help:
http://community.simtropolis.com/topic/4778-jasons-bats-tutorials/
Building looks good though. Maybe the framework of the door on the entrance could be a bit thicker, or exaggerated.
Oh! It's exactly a real building!
By the way, the entrance tree is Kadomatsu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kadomatsu) decorate the New Year ;)
That picture was taken in the new year ;D
I usually just use a texture of windows and i get pretty good results in small windows...
I'll be the dissenting voice here, but I think you should play around with that wall texture. Somehow I find this one is too blue and/or too dark. I even think the model would benefit from a light brown/beige texture. Maybe create two versions?
Of course, I don't know anything about Japan, so I may be talking nonsense just the same. Hope this doesn't upset you. ;)
Cheers
Willy
Nice progress Arthur, even if we see a repetition of your wall texture, it doesn't mind.
Glass material is the hardest part in Bating for me. I would really recommend you read this post in Jasoncw Simtropolis, it's a good start.

Just a quick note / question. It seems that the Mitaki train station is not left-hand drive compatible? I couldn't remember it necessarily expressly stated in the Readme, but I encountered it while playing / trying out the station this evening.
The train inexplicably crosses over upon entering the station.
Did you choose the LHD file when installed?
( After installing the station you have to manually go into the folder and choose one of the two files - LHD or - RHD )
I didn't check... :-| or probably forgot to. I get easily distracted :P
Thanks!
It's a beautiful station ;D
Hello guys!
Yesterday I did a quick render ( so quick that I had to render it three times because I forgot to center the building.... &sly ) of my office building, and I'm actually quite satisfied with the look of it!
I can still see some things to change or to scale up/down but it looks good to me now, ready to export for good.. ( after I doodle a bit more with the reflections and nightlights)

an imposing sight on the cityscape :P
Looking great man &apls I don't know how much better you could get his building to look ;)

Very interesting building you have there. Love the yellow Japanese characters on the front. :D
I'm guessing that it's a W2W 1x2?
Thanks guys!
Sunv123 - yeap, going to be 1x2 w2w.
The building is about ready...

Hehehehe, day render of the front wasn't finished.... going to correct that now...
And done!
Maybe add some lights to one of the floor on the front behind the glass facade. Maybe on the second floor away from the sign.
Perfect Arthur! Great great work.
As you said and Arne suggested some more lights inside the building would be good, I think. Otherwise it looks perfect.
that one came out fast XD

Beautiful contemporary architecture! The staircase is an eye-catcher, particularly at night! &apls
Fantastic work. &apls Maybe a little more dirty texture for the ventilation on the small building?
One other small thing. The texture of the lowest stairway looks different than the others. It is a bit more blurry than the textue above.
I really like this building Arthur.
The night-lighting is the best part IMO.
Thanks guys!

Um, what exactly are they supposed to mean (in English)? Google translate returns nonsense ???, even with common sense trying to sort out the inconsistencies (it translates it, but the result doesn't mean anything). Too bad I can't read Japanese.
Actually I messed up the top character on the sign. I wrote "Wa" " わ" instead of "Ya" " や " ... And the order of the characters.. My mistake.
I'll bet this sign is read as traditionally top->bottom right->left.
Which makes that sign " とらや " " To Ra Ya "
After doing some research I found out the Toraya group [Link] (http://www.toraya-group.co.jp/) is a Traditional Japanese Confectionery group created in the 16th century. Luxury Pastry... They even have a shop in Paris, near La Concorde. What they produce looks tasty.. Too bad it's probably hell expensive..

Anyway concerning the building. The whole pastry shop and tea room sounds cool, but I'll probably leave it as offices inside. I'm going to change the signs to what they really are though.
I'm going to change that, I'll post renders later today.
okay, redid the signs on the building with the correct characters.

What do you guys think?
Like the new sign better.
Maybe turn of one of the light on stairs at the back. The light looks a bit to even to be real.
Other than that, go a head a do the export. :)
To be honest, I sort of liked the sign better when it read nonsense (but that's just because I can't read Japanese and would never know the difference).
It still looks great, regardless. can't wait to see this in my cities
とらや!(toraya) they are perfect!!
I was surprised to see the price of foods Toraya in France... :o
very nice Bat, i like see this and i hope upload soon
Nice work, Arthur! Both buildings look very good.
Fantastic work Authur!!
Love the night lights and the windows, especially.
Robin
Thanks guys!

Now I just need some modding (landmark, CO$$$ grow and plop....), I'll probably have to ask for help on this as I'm really bad at modding..
Very nice, I am loving the modeled interior and furniture!
It almost feels like I can see what's going on inside the building. Good work.
wonderful work on both :)
Great work!!!! :D
Stunning work Arthur :o These will be incredibly useful buildings!
Good work!
I stick to my opinion about the dark brick texture, but it's your building after all.
Cheers
Willy
Turned out looking great. Blends perfectly. I will look forward to when I can download it.

I am very impressed that you also used in the creation of the building as much attention to detail. A great work.

Thanks
Thanks for share these buildings my friend :)
Thanks Arthur!
Beautiful BATs
Thanks guys!
I take the occasion to announce the next big BAT I'm going to work on, more on the EBLT theme this time.
It's located in France, and is a big complex of an hotel tower, a congress center and a shopping mall. Can you try to guess what it is?
nice work mate :)
The first station I have shown in Kamiyama is no longer alive today. When I created it I realized the roofjunk was oversized like mad. Also a uni-bloc station of a scale this large wouldn't fit for everyone.
So I created a modular set. The set is composed of 9 different parts of station platform to make your station the size you want. As well as two building ( one still needs to be modeled)
Of course the platforms are compatible with any building that fits.
I've also created an airport terminal and an Air Traffic Control Tower.
I'll make all of these available once I mod them correctly. I think it is safe to assume I will release them during summer holidays.
I have two building pack in the preparations. One normal from tokyo and the other from Akihabara.
Akihabara is a district in the Chiyoda ward of Tokyo. It is the biggest place specialized in anime and manga merchandise, as well as electronics. The building I'll make from this district are going to be anime/manga themed. (Kind of like the Animate building I've made previously)
Guess I'll tease people a bit: (click on the pics for full size when available)
First building done of the second pack:

And that's all for the moment, folks.
Someone has been busy!
Modular platforms are a great idea. However in the example pic there's some misalignment between the parts though I'm sure you'll fix that. The nightlights are excellent, especially on the shinkansen station and airport roof restaurant!
You have put much effort into these models and all of them are great and looks really good, I like so much the train station and also the airport terminal, I can't wait to put my hands over them...
Greetings Arthur ;)
Looks really good :)

Nice! Can't wait to DL.
Very nice building designs. And good job with the nightlit signs. The interior lighting seems a little dim to me, but that might just be me.
Hello :)
I've got an issue with 3dsmax.
Everytime I render it gives this kind of error:
So I posted on Simtropolis, as my version of BAT4MAX was designed there. 10 days later I still had no reply. I thought maybe page 1 had something, and indeed it had. Last time I checked it wasn't there. Of course nobody during the 10 full days was kind enough to tell me " hey, maybe you should look at this "..
Anyway, I downloaded the hotfix1 and tried to install it. Yeah, I did say " tried "
Because of course it doesn't work. Midway I get an error 1920, which I searched on google and tried everything they said:
- Close all apps running and antivirus, then run it - didn't work.
- Reinstall NET framework - didn't work
I tried to install a newer version of 3dsmax, like the 2014 but I couldn't and got an error, but that's another matter.
Excellent work as of late, especially with the airport. &apls I've experienced this issue before. I re-installed BAT and 3dsMax; redid it all from scratch. However, you may not need to do that, just be sure you have administrator capabilities on your machine, and that you restart it after installing .NET framework. Both of those issues have caused me a lot of undue pain in the past, yet are easy to to fix.
I forgot to add, but yes I have administrator capabilities and I did restart NET framework. :)
I'll try to uninstall 3dsmax and reinstall it as well as bat4max.
Have you tried to merge the old scene into a new one. Sometimes that does the trick for some reason.

Someday you will publish these things. (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ld-host.de%2Fuploads%2Fimages%2Fcad9559c1bda3e9a505a368f15748239.gif&hash=f26785b8020751f1f4d64bbd4401f5c2eb47265d) Someday...
I love your buildings. I also like your unpublished works you've tagged some time ago in your MD. Your modern Stations of JR look great. I use almost exclusively traditional Stations of Uki-sama. (https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ld-host.de%2Fuploads%2Fimages%2F4adaa0b0ec00723fbe3814415d744cd5.gif&hash=3a0d68fc73d63134da7e0758aaa88d4e3787c9a5)
The first building will be released soon. It's ready I just need to mod it a bit more.
The airport ATCT is gone. I didn't like it. I've made a new version that I'm currently exporting. Will be released along with my smaller terminal later this year.
The airport terminal, both stations and the platforms are gone too... I'll maybe remodel them one day, not sure since they don't fit my current project.
So I got around to re render all the buildings with the correct rendering engine in 3dsmax 2015. No more [noticeable] outline and no more blur. :)
All these buildings will be released this year:

What a nice models !! I really like the Toyama Office model. It looks very realistic and Japanese...I can't wait to put my hands on them :bnn:
Nice BATs Arthur &apls
WOW, great job, I love them. What I like best is your attention to detail, such as the red aircraft warning beacons. Can't wait to download them. Could you do a version of your airport terminal without the signs? It looks damn good, and without the sign can fit in all cities (a Japanese text in an American aiport, for example, is odd xD)
Keep doing that marvels! :D
I love your work, keep it up!!! :D
This truly an amazing set of bats, all with stunning lights and textures and hd quality &apls
Great work!
Absolutely superb, I really like the Kitayama apartment and Nagaoka/Tottori buildings. Really fantastic! Looking forward to using these.
Your night lighting, particularly on the sign-age and neon is always top rate.
Looking forward to installing these.
Particularly the small airport buildings, really been needing some smaller versions for more mountainous maps lately.
Great models! That pedestrian overpass will be really useful in a number of situations. &apls
Excellent work. I'd give you 11/10 if I could!
Amazing, indeed! I particulary love that overpass, something very handy! &apls
Great work Arthur. Good to see you back batting. &apls
If I should point at something: The saturation of the red on Tokyo Building 6 and the orange on Nagaoka and Tottori, is a bit to strong.
Excellent &apls
I love Kitayama apartments the best, the curtains give a great effect. All your night lighting is very cool

I find your attention to detail wonderful. Each building has the name of a prefecture. Especially, of course, the Tottori Prefecture. It is an honor that you have given the Overpass my name. *hug* Are you going to the terminal stations create as through stations?(https://www.sc4devotion.com/forums/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ld-host.de%2Fuploads%2Fimages%2F98a5523047fb2457453e15f1b8dd251e.gif&hash=29eec6400ecb57283a43c03ff3c55cd9921a0fa9)

I think this is great "small" architecture °Ö°
Yep, Thanks Arthur for your models, they looks really nice in my city &apls &apls
You're welcome. :)
That's an interesting design. I might try to do something with it... :)
Time to dig this one out.
I've moved myself out of EBLT since the team is basically dead. Out of all the user only Kelis and myself ever go online so I believe it's safe to assume the team is defunct.
In any case now that I've done some progress on my sc4 region enough, I decided to try my hand again at the different buildings I wanted to make since I started BATing, in chronological order.
So the first one to come is the Novotel Front de Seine. This is the first building I wanted to make back when I was only using Gmax.
This tower will be part of my own re-creation (re-imagined) of the Front de Seine area in Paris. I'm not going to make all the towers but only those that catch my interest. (crystal, totem, the chimney etc)
Considering it's an area built on a slab and I want to retain this idea the whole thing is going to be modular for my use. I will not render different version of the same building but at the same time I will try to make it so a single tower can be used alone anywhere else.
I've taken artistic liberties with this building, but the general appearance and shape will remain closely similar to the real building. The slab is sitting at 7.5m high. I will make it so that the lot can be plopped on a slope to allow the terrain to meet the slab.
It currently stands on a 5x5 lot.
I've not applied any textures so far. This is about a week's worth of work. I need to make some more details like lap posts, benches, a staircase coming from under the slab (road) and interior detail of the Hotel lobby and convention center, as well as the tower's roof junk.
------------
A few questions:
HD or SD? I don't mind rendering it in HD my computer can take it. But will it be worth it for the game?
The road. Should I bake it into the building itself, allowing me to use custom lights in the tunnel and stuff, or should I leave it open for the PIMX loting?
------------
I want to finish first all the buildings I've ever started but abandoned in the past. That includes: Tampere station, Fujilatex Building in Tokyo, Rotterdam harbour village tower, Pavilhão de Portugal in Lisbon and two residential buildings in Paris. Then after that i will start brand new buildings, I got a long list of stuff I want to make for my region.
I've also finished so far a school (where I spent 9 years) and a Japanese office building. The school is mostly done I just need some more testing, and the office building will be release in packs like the previous buildings I did. Pictures very soon.
Also I want to fix my Tokyo building 1 (the blue 2x2 w2w) which has an S3D bugged. I found a tutorial by Jasconcw but I haven't had the courage to look into it so far.
That's about it I guess.
More to come as I make progress on it.
Wow, really cool!
I guess the size is big enough to justify just an SD rendering, unless some ground-level detailing justifies otherwise.
About the road, I would go for the lot texture only, as it looks perfect for a rail station version too. For the lights, I've seen some authentic magic done with custom lightcones, so I guess it's not losing that much...
It's great news to see you bating again. :)
Your project also is very interesting : there are few buildings built on slabs in Sim city and the fact that the slab is 7.5 m is very clever.
About the road, I agree with Matias93, a simple texture would be welcome for loters.
I will be watching this thread carefully.
I am glad that you managed to solved your issue with 3dsmax and BAT again.
Good luck for this project &apls &apls &apls

:crytissue:
I'm joking, totally understandable decision.
Regarding you questions and your BAT, great work so far. If I were you, I would stick to SD and not bake the road texture in. at this size, SD or HD, unless you want to add some tiny details, is not worth it. Also, not having the road gives you more versatility
cheers!
Hello, Thanks for the feedbacks.
SD it is then. I will also not bake the road in the building.

Also here are pics of the office building and the school I mentioned earlier:
Hirakin Office, based off a real building just outside Okayama. right click, view image for full size
(https://i.imgur.com/f3qlHbf.jpg)
And the school, it's based on where I spent my primary and middle school. Private Catholic school called "la Bruyere Sainte Isabelle" in Paris. Since then they've added some stuff so I tried to keep it as it was when I was there. It's a nice building with interesting stuff going on like the Cafeteria underground, the gym is semi-underground (the big volume in the middle) and there are some more underground rooms (study hour room, library etc)
The middle school is the bigger building, the primary school is the smaller one, which also houses a kindergarten.
The nightlights leak a bit.... But frankly I'm way too lazy to fix it... :D It's in HD btw.

Really amazing stuff :satisfied: &apls &apls The red panels on the Novotel look quite fine, but aren't they a little bit reder and darker irl ? I really don't know how to maximize, in 3dsmax, the feel of these painted aluminum panels that almost look like PVC to me, though ()what()
great update, great stuff!
The school looks amazing my friend !! Nice to see you around, I must say
Here are some more progress on the Novotel.
I've finished the tower, slab and conference center with a restaurant on top. All that's left to do is populate the hotel's atrium, add an awning and stuff. And of course make the LODs.

I got a comment on ST regarding the building and slopes. In the way I will be using it, it will not be on a slope but flat ground. My project is to have an area inspired by the Front de Seine in Paris [Wiki] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Front_de_Seine). It will have some of the towers and the commercial center Beaugrenelle from there as well as two buildings from La Defense (Defense 2000 and Les Poissons) The area is built on a slab like that, since that was popular in the 70s.
For the purpose of greater play-ability I decided to make the slab 7.5m high so that if the player wants it can be used on a slope. You can also use it as stand alone like in the pictures as I've put some planters on the edge of the slab.
I have exported the final version of the building. Here are some in-game shots, next to Simfox's RED tower to compare the scale, which I believe for 20 stories is adequate.

On a side note, I believe that for scale comparison, one should stick with a similar maxis building, otherwise there is a chance of error propagation. Donno though if there is any comparable one.

Hello~
Since Novotel is finished, I went ahead and started the next project. Pavilhão de Portugal in Lisbon. It will be a museum. Not gonna be a 100% faithful recreation but it will be close.

Beautiful!
I am planning to do old buildings from portugal and spain like the 'Queluz Palace' but have not yet decided what scale to use for the buildings. &mmm
I just have to say thank you, for all the great BATs as well as the show off of such interesting and great buildings. One more to visit, if travel will be allowed ever again. :)
Wow, beautiful Pavilhão
The first thing that came to my mind was the music video and the song from Shakira "Dare" it was filmed there.
These look great , and it's fantastic to see you back at the BAT.
I love, love, *love* the Novotel complex, that will be going straight into my cities ;D
as Portuguese I welcome this very very much ;D ;D
Great comeback Arthur, &apls &apls &apls love your choices and the first result with Novotel is really nice ( I understand Matt's enthusiasm as there's a kind of visible relatedness on that one between your two BATing styles... :satisfied: )
Pavilhão de Portugal looks promising too.
C.
Thanks guys.
I'm on holidays for two weeks so I will have plenty of time to get these ready for upload. You can expect the Novotel, School and Pavilion of Portugal within these two weeks.
And maybe another couple if I model them fast enough.
In the meantime, I finished this one. Pretty happy with the end result honestly. No night lights for this one.

more soon.
The recent projects are looking awesome buddy &apls &apls I agree with Matt on that Novotel being just a great model of unique style and also excellent implementation, including technical end regarding the road and potentially sloped terrain for it. Have a great break!
I know it is like this, but that empty prestine clean roof is a bit too, well, clean and bright. Not the "pala" which looks awesome, btw, but the main building whitish roof I mean.
other than that, great modeling man! great job! &apls
Thanks guys for the feedbacks.
I agree the roof of the building itself is a bit too clean. I will prepare a second version soon. Also I may add some night lights here and there to spice it up a bit. Looking at it now I also think the concrete structure on around the "veil" are a bit too deep for sc4, you can't see much of the green tile walls.
I am in the process of starting Tampere Station. But I have a question first.
In the real building the tracks and platforms are one level higher than the street where the entrance is.
Should I disregard that and make all of it flat? Or should I adapt it so that the platforms can be used for 7.5m high trains tracks? (Both viaduct and embankments.)
well, can you have a multitrack elevated station? if yes, why not? maybe the major problem might be making the embankment, but other than that, I think it is a good idea!

My vote is on the L1 (7.5m) platforms. I can imagine how it would work on an embankment and also as a standalone viaduct station. The idea is amazing (specially the embankment version). I have only one request. I'm not sure if during the modelling and later when you put the lot together with the envisioned scennarios a modular set-up would work properly.
By the way I don't know which approach you will follow eventually, but I guess if it's possible the best would be if the station building was sitting on the LOT, while the platforms would be overhanging. It would not require modelled rail tracks, in any case (of course I assume it's the harder to do) you could leave the middle empty where the tracks would run.
But even if in this case a modular set-up wouldn't work, could you export as an additional model/prop an L1 elevated platform, which could be used for lotting purposes.
Anyhow! Thanks for considering making new stations, specially elevated ones!
- Tyberius
Like the others, I love the Novotel, the Pavilhão de Portugal and the school. &apls &apls &apls
The fact that you have added all these Props to the School Lot (including diagonals and FAR fences if I can see it correctly) is a huge plus. It will be perfect for a very dense environment.
About the Tampere Station, like gn_leugim and Tyberius06, my vote would go for raising the platforms to 7.5m without modeling the rails, a bit like Debussyman did for his sublime Dresden Central Station, in order to put the L1 of Nam on the length desired by the player and cross the avenue at the appropriate place while keeping the passenger hall at ground level.
In any case, your choices of buildings are very tasty, I hope to see them in my cities!
Thanks again for the feedback guys.
I had no plan to model the railway tracks anyway but just the platforms as separate props. I have a good idea in my head on how to do it nicely. I had to make the whole building higher to accommodate the L1 tracks. But it still looks OK. I will post more of it as I make progress.
Here's a modified version of the Pavilion of Portugal. I added bump maps to most textures, darkened the clean roof, and finally added some night lights. ( even some lights under the vault but they're not showing on the render... Will have to sort that out) I'm happy with this version so if there isn't any vote against, I'm going to go ahead and export it now.

So I exported it (twice actually.)
But I get an issue:
It did it at first so i redid the LOD completely and re rendered it. Still the issue as above.
I checked inside the model file the "missing piece" (FSH I guess?) are indeed present....?
Do I have to redo the lods again and re render or can it be saved?
That happens to me very often when I export a very large boat, sometimes I fix it manually (It is a nightmare) but the best way is to make sure that the LOD is as close to the model as possible.
I also export my model with all parameters set to low minimum to make sure the FSHs fit well into the LOD and not waste my time rendering something that is probably wrong.
this is what one of my LODs looks like.
To me they appear to be as close as possible. I guess there is still some room for improvement.
Or maybe the LOD is too complex?
What I would do is move a few vertices and export the LODs again and see what happens.
I had this happen on one of the multi-function stations I released.
https://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=327.msg522884#msg522884 (https://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=327.msg522884#msg522884)
The trick in that instance was to heighten the LOD and make it taller. Such are the vagaries of batting. $%Grinno$%
There are two schools of thought with LODs: many purport custom in all instances.
I do not subscribe to that theory, and only use custom LODs when absolutely necessary, such as objects to be placed in the water or objects which must have automata going through them.
The reason being is that when you make a custom LOD, you are effectively asking the game to over-ride its boxy 2d/quasi 3d rendering (which makes SC4 so efficient in terms of processing power) and instead make the game render your BAT in 3d. While I know this will be a ploppable model, you can see how the issue with having so many custom LODs would be a nightmare for growable content.
For your model, unless you intend to have a lot of tall and wide props under the colonnade and large canopy, I would just go with a simple box with the centre area taken out via a simple boolean so you can place props in that courtyard area. Even with a basic LOD, you will still be able to place little sims and low props in those areas just fine without clipping.
-- My apologize Matt, I accidentally edited your post thinking it was mine right underneath...
Huge thanks mate, it worked.
At first I did like you said and moved some vertices and redid and export, same thing happened. Then I deleted the LODs and did them again, this time not bothering to do the pillars individually. It worked this time. I guess the LODs didn't like being separate for the pillars.
Thanks as well Matt for the advice. I must say I do enjoy making custom LODs. This one was done stricly using poly modeling. I've found that booleans tend to make the structure a bit messy. They are very useful though, so I do use them.
Here are some pictures of the Pavilhao de Portugal in game with the complete lot. It's a museum.

Thanks!
I've started BATing Tampere Station but progress has been a bit slow. Been busy chain rendering cars (*) and playing the new Call of Duty video game. :-[
Nonetheless, here is a render:
The tracks will not be part of the BAT. The platforms will be separate props. On the left is an avenue tunnel, just like the real one. On the right a fictional parking entrance. To the right there will be a passage underneath the tracks.
Does anyone know how I can make the day view brighter inside the building?
(*) I have been rendering car models on angles 90, 45, 225L and 225R. Single color only. So far I've rendered 342 different cars. I still have 155 models to render and another 20 that I can't find a free model of them anywhere.
I'm not saying for what I will be using them now, that will come later... I don't want to spoil my ideas..... :)
Quick question, I'm using 3dsmax 2016 Since recently, but I have the impression that the render quality isn't so good... Do I have to set some settings higher? ()what()
It's looking like a really good start to a great project :satisfied:
To make the interior brighter in the day, I use a simple rectangle approx 50-60% the size of the floor with a self-illuminating arch & design material colour that is left on during the day render.
So for instance, if the room is 15mx 8m then the self illuminated rectangle will be 7.5mx4mx0.1m and I push this up to the ceiling in the scene (making sure it won't be visible in the render). I then set the illumination to a really high setting like, say, 7000 physical units (cd/m2) in the Luminance area as well as giving the interior surfaces a glossy texture. I then use this as the night light (but turned right down to say, 300). You can get tricky here and model these lightboxes as strips which can also give the impression of rows of fluorescent lighting
As for the 2016 issue, are the render settings on Classic/raytraced in the Renderer settings and Skylight Illumination from Indirect (GI or FG)....under Rendering->Render Setup?
That's great to see you back modelling! Haven't been on the forum for a while, but that's a nice news to see :) The effects are great, hope you can continue without many technical issues ;D
Regards
The building looks great!
It seems that I have competition. So far I have exported 15 different cars, 4 colors and 4 angles (90°, 45°, 22.5°, 67.5° ).
Thanks for the replies!
Matt, I tried applying your method and I must say the result is great. Maybe a bit too dark still but I will work on it later.
I've made some progress on it, not much but still progress.
Blue monoliths are just there so I know where to make the platforms stairs and lifts for the underground passageways.
Matt, regarding the render settings here's what is on the renderer tab:
I'm glad the nite-lighting hack worked. It's how I do much of my stuff, as I find it gives better colour control than omnis or spots without the endless back and forth of adjusting minuscule parameters. You can also combine self-illumination with self-illuminating materials and spot-lights, etc, for maximum effect.
To fix the blurriness, every single time you click either Day, Darknite or Maxis nite, you have to go in and re-adjust the settings:
Global Illumination sub-tab should be set to "Skylight Illumination from Indirect (GI or FG) (https://i.imgur.com/w7IUhCj.jpg)
Renderer subtab should be set to "Classic/Raytraced"
All other settings can remain the same. In addition to making the render crisp, it also speeds up the rendering time.
Tampere station is looking great &apls Really excited you'd take on that station since it's one I've got a lot of familiarity with. Implementation sounds great too. A couple questions there though: will the avenue underpass also not be baked in? With one of Finland's signature mass transit projects of the moment involving a new TIA underpass there (to best of my knowledge that's the routing at least) it could be nice to have that option. Just a thought, but having the station and platform models overhang that underpass could be a way to avoid having to make multiple versions. Second, are you planning on keeping the middle platform the roughly 24m width shown above? Certainly the normal ~8, platform width in SC4 can be on the narrow side and there are practical limits to something intermediary but it still seems a bit wide.
In any case, this will certainly be a beautiful station to have the chance to use in-game! Good luck with the project and the rest of what you're up to
Thanks for the tips Matt, will try that as soon as I make a render.
Noah, the avenue texture itself will not be baked in, but the tunnel shape will, including the central concrete pillars which would be in the way of a tram track...
Just to clarify for everyone, the embankment with the textures will NOT BE RENDERED with the model. It's just there to help me place everything. Same goes for the avenue and street textures, they will NOT be made in the BAT, but added in the LE.
I am planning on keeping the platform large. I've already experimented with that in the past and I actually quite liked it.

Great work! What is the station on the picture and where to download it? ()what()
the main building is a model of Sendai station from a Japanese website..... Unfortunately I do not remember which one. You can check out these websites [link] (https://sc4devotion.com/forums/index.php?topic=361.msg10192#msg10192) to try and find it.
Quick question guys.
What's the easiest, or rather correct method to rename props? I'm not satisfied with how I've named my car props and I'm looking into re-arranging it.
Great continued work on the station &apls TIA or other texture can bend to make way for center pylon rather than vice versa ;) I think the wider platforms look excellent and certainly aren't lacking RL examples; overall there's been a lot more trouble with too narrow platforms than too wide ones.
To answer your question, I'm extremely rusty but can at least reply with what I remember off the top of my head from the old days. First, make sure you're using the pre-1.x reader version to avoid just-in-case corruption or crashing problems, then open the lot and/or model files and look for anywhere you can find the building or model's name and then change it. IIRC there should be multiple instances that usually look similar, pertaining to lot/model/maybe something else too, but you shouldn't have any negative consequences from renaming something you didn't actually intend to rename. Sorry for very sloppy "help" :D
Hi Art,
The station is coming along really nicely! Looks great!

If you are using PIM-X then in the left pannel click onto the Prop menu tree (main PIM side, not the lot editor side) find your props (right top panel) and click one of them, then in the rightt bottom field with double click edit the Prop Examplar name, hit OK, then save it. If you gave additional Item name, you can edit those as well, but that actually doesn't matter, because for LOT Editor and X-LE the prop examplar name matters only. The item name would be viewable ingame. That's the fastest and safest name editing method. I did it with thousands of props for the Heretic Essentials.
If you want to change the
MODEL name, that's when you need the Reader. In the sc4model file among the FSH and S3D properties you would find one or more XML properties (editing this one is better with newer readers, but I think it works with the old v0.93 version as well). Click onto the xml property and in the text box in the right panel find and edit the model name, then save it with the small floppy icon which can be found at the top of this editor panel (
it's not the main save/save as... icon on the left top corner of the main window!!!!). At the end,
before you hit the main save/save as... floppy you have to
reindex and
rebuild the directory file in the middle panel with right click option on the list of properties (xml, s3d, fsh). IF you already DATpacked your models with the regular DATpacker (and not with Jdatpacker), then you will not find this XML file.
- Tyberius
Edit: right top and bottom fields instead of left...
Thanks for the advises. Took me a few days but I was able to properly rename the props.

I've uploaded a fixed model for the Tokyo building 1 I made back in 2013. The original model had a broken s3d at a certain zoom and angle. It is now fixed to a degree i consider good enough.

You can find it here: https://sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=4044
Here is a little update on Tampere Station.
I decided to go for a standard width platform.
Tomorrow I will try to add more details to the platforms like lamp posts, signs. And possibly make the roof junk.
The progress is looking great (and the standard width platforms look good + they will save you a ton of modding work!) ;D
Thanks Matt and everyone for the likes.
I need your help guys.
For days now I've been running into Error code 8 when trying to export a BAT in 3dsmax.
From what I could read, it seem to be " Error #8 - Error rotating export nodes. "
What I've tried so far:
-Export the model and import into a new file
-run 3dsmax as administrator
-try on another machine and do both of above
Nothing is helping. I'm using 3dsmax 2016 on Windows 10.
I haven't tried re-installing BAT4Max and the fixes yet.
Now that's just me putting a tinfoil hat on but I have a strong suspicion that windows 10 is doing it. It's not the first time that for some reason randomly it decide to not launch 3dsmax as admin.
It's getting seriously frustrating. If anyone has some help that would be greatly appreciated.
I can propose you to try it on my setup if you are willing to share the .max and let's see how it works.
Thanks Antoine, I've sent you a PM with the link.
I love your Tampere Station more and more! and I hope you will solve your problems with the export.
This is typically the kind of building that demands to be placed in the very right place in game. But, once the right place is found, it will add extra realism to our high density neighborhoods. ()stsfd()
Standard platforms are arguably the easiest solution for us players also, and now I have to start looking for where to put this beauty.
Well after reading through a link mgb sent me on Simtropolis I concluded that the easiest way to get things working is jumping to another 3dsmax version. I know from having talked to Girafe that 2017 works successfully so I went ahead and installed that. It now works I was able to render what I wanted.
Still got no idea why 2016 didn't work. Honestly I'm seriously too frustrated at it to even try and know why. 2017 works that's all that matters.
Thanks for the help!
Does anyone remember what's the process to eliminate the grey/white outline from the rendered BATs in Recent 3dsmax version?
Also, how do you add pedestrian traffic to a lot? Let's say you wanted to make a pedestrian street based on 1x1~ or longer lots, how would you do it?
Also, a few days ago I posted on ST this picture relating to a racetrack I'm currently laying out in my region.
I've been working on rendering cars for the past months now. Since I've recently finished them (minus a small list of 72 cars that I can't find a free/good model out there...) This is just 375 different cars in 4 angles with nightlights. No cars made after 1994 allowed since my region is based on that time period. Important or interesting historically cars are made, the only rule I have is that I must actually like it, hence why there isn't a Beetle there.
Question regarding the scale, should I scale them by 133% on all axis like Alejogc13 is doing on his cars?
Hallo art128, very nice and useful stuff you're creating!
Regarding the scale: that 133 % scale looks weird in terms of co-working with other stuff, and just doesn't fit in most surroundings. Place any lot using 133%-cars and watch the automata vehicles drive by. You'll see the props are madly oversized. In my opinion, the limiting fact in scaling is the width of the streets. 133 % cars wouldn't fit on those streets or crossroads, especially when turning left or right. That's why I'm scaling down all those wonderful models made by alejogc13, simmer2 or girafe, which isn't truely satisfying in results.

I agree, I am thinking to re render some of my old car models with better scale (from different tests 115 to 120%) seems much more appropriate scale.
After testing with almost every type of vehicle that can legally circulate on a street in America, Europe or Asia, I came to the conclusion that they fit perfectly in the maxis road texture. Personally, I am not concerned about whether or not my vehicles fit the automata as @Badsim is doing a great job to replace the maxis automata and even add more (As far as I know their automata are a little bigger than my vehicles but that can be solved).
The last thing I can add in favor of the 133% scale is that they are going to be 100% proportional to my hundreds or thousands of sims that I plan to export (But as I advance, I doubt that I can export everything I have $%Grinno$%).

@art128 Or you can use a smaller scale so people will have the ability to choose from more options.
Haven't decided yet if I want to 133% them. It's a big task considering the amount of cars.
In other news, here's some better-late-than-never progress on the station:
@ alejogc13: You're right, your car models do fit in the streets. I tested it, too. So I was wrong, sorry about that. It seems I have mixed it up with an earlier discussion in SM2's thread concerning the prop and model scale. I thought he'd use that 133 % scale too. Obviously not, but even larger than that, because all his cars and models definitely run out of scale.
@ art128: IMO, it'd be pretty helpful and nice if your car props would fit the same scale alejogc13 is using.
I'll think about it.
More progress. Gave a try at texturing the beast to see how it would look.

Thanks for the likes again guys.
Some more progress. Getting pretty happy with the general outcome of it.
To do list:
- Add furniture to restaurant (left building top of avenue tunnel)
- Sort the light on the left pedestrian tunnel/restaurant entrance
- Add ambient light to main entrance doors
- Rework the main building shop glasses thingies at the front
- Add more lights and props in the parking entrance
- Add furniture to convenience store on the platform
This is pretty impresive, Art !! is this normal rail or for elevated rail ? I'm not sure just watching the picture. It would be nice to have both versions.
Thanks for your work my friend &apls &apls
Great work Arthur ;)
Lighting is nice and I am eager to see the final result.
Maybe you could add some details inside the hall like 3D people.
Here you can get few 3D models for free: https://renderpeople.com/fr/free-3d-people/ by rotating, scaling and re texturing the color, I guess you can get variety
Thanks guys.
I'm taking note about people in the building. My idea is to add people on the platform, tunnels and hall and have them move around for the night view to give a hint that they're living beings.
Some progress. tweaked some lights here and there, added props inside the restaurant. Will downscale the awning a bit. But apart from that and sims inside, I think it's ready.
Forgot to activate the day skybox for inside but it will be in the final render.

Beautiful BAT, it will be a really great addition to the game! Awesome work! &apls &apls &apls

Thanks!
I tried adding some detailed plants and stuff but it made the scene way too heavy so I will have to make them only simple noise boxes, because of that, the layout of the grass thingys will change.
Anyway apart from that, it's ready. Here's a day view with the people in place. Haven't prepared the night view (people wise) yet.

It's look perfect and very unique ! &apls &apls &apls
I can't wait to find the right place for it in game.
Hey art128, looks great!
I've attached a maxis texture x261a0000 to this post that I use often when the scene gets too heavy for plants and I want to simulate greenery. I made two bump maps for it that will give different height effects....feel free to use (or not); it is colour corrected for the 3dsmax environment.
Arthur, that station is looking fantastic! I especially like the length of it . . . reminds me a fair bit of the biggest train station near me (Union Station in Portland).
-Alex
Hi Arthur,
Complex model, high level of detailing and top-notch texturing ; Tampere Station is indisputably your best BAT to date. &apls
This deserves +1.
No news from Novotel ? I hope it didn't get swept under the carpet ... (have also access to -1 button ;D )
Impressive cars collection ... I had the pleasure to discover a Panhard VBL Civil when browsing the picture full size, reawakening some nostalgia : my parents were the owners of a 24CT in the 60's, I was a young child - and the world was a lot more ... well, was a little less... how to say that ... ?
... sometimes a good drawing says it all. :D
Scale debate concerning automata and vehicles props (I think you know my opinion...) will never be solved, SC4 community being a constantly changeable (and declining...) sum of ephemeral members. Alejo has mentioned my work about automata but there's nothing to expect from me : what I did, regarding the community rules, isn't shareable. Well, too bad ... &mmm
Cédric.
Wonderful things going on here. Thank you, Arthur. Browsing through the last four pages gave me the impression step by step grey boxes begin to blossom and are growing into beautiful game content.
- the clock on the clock tower seems oversaturated to me and the same the red awning. But could be my monitor. So never trust a single opinion on colors if it's not your partner's. ::)
- regarding the scaling discussion:
I think most important thing remains the visual aspect, not the exact number and I personally don't scale every prop with the same fixed percentage. Psychology is very strong on what we recognize and our brain is very powerfull to add its own interpretation and fill gaps in perception. So especially on those hand full of pixel people will se what they want to see and there is nothing you can do about.
You shouldn't trust maths alone here and always let your perception having the last word.
To me car props are often like intermediaries between automata (looking underscaled) and sims (looking overscaled) and to me work best when they fit both in a believable way.
I often use girafe's car props as a joint sample. They do this job perfectly - creating a visual balance between automata and sims. Also SHK car props (by KOSC) have gained a great popularity and they mark the very upper limit to my taste. So my rule would be: never bigger as KOSC and always a little bigger than automata. And all car props created in between this limits are totally okay to me.
Or am I too liberal about this?
Thanks for the feedback!
Fantozzi - I agree about the clock and awning being too saturated, will fix that before the final render.
Cedric - Haven't forgotten about Novotel... I was just debating if I wanted to upload it or not considering I made it to fit a specific purpose (the "slab" I will be building ingame)... But I will probably, soon enough since It's ready to be uploaded. The VBL civil was made because I really like the look of the VBL and would own one of it was even possible.
Matt - Thanks for the texture. It looks better than the one I was using.

If I was a moderator I would issue a warning on this. So as the philosopher Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz in 17th century has proven that the world we are living in is the best of all possible, now you could add another argument to his thesis: it
must be the best of all possible because Fantozzi
is no moderator.
As a matter of fact a man creating such lovely nightlights never should be warned for anything.
Thanks! The Novotel will be released soon.
The station is now in game. I had to make really basic (aka bad) LODs for the platform because I kept getting failed exports... After 3 export I got fed up.
Anybody know what properties I need to edit on a lot to make it stuck to the bottom of a sloped tile?
Also any idea what to use or even BAT for the other side exit?
First of all, it's sublime! &apls &apls &apls
Then the lot must obviously face down the slope and the property to use is "LotConfigPropertyMaxSlopeBeforeLotFoundation" with a value equal to 0. This property prevents a lot from being slopy friendly and generating foundations and retaining walls. The tiles facing the lot at the bottom of the slope must be leveled so that the game does not average the heights of each of this tiles to deduce the height of the threshold to apply to the lot.
For the other side of the building, I imagine a sort of retaining wall with a few "back shop style" access doors or other technical rooms (electrical transformer for example) near the exits of the avenue, in a style. discreet and neutral. Anyway, something that wouldn't be part of the Station Bat, but rather a separate Prop no wider than the retaining wall. This Prop could be made offset, so that it would be on your station lot but would appear at the outer edge of the railroad tracks on the other side, for players who want both sides of the station to be on the same level. Players who would like to raise the ground at the other side of the station to the height of the tracks (or even higher), would only need to remove this Prop for the lot. (or you can do a lot with this prop and a lot without)
And, I am delighted that you are realizing the Novotel soon.
After some wait, the Novotel Front de Seine has been released. You can get it on the LEX. [Link] (https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=4066)
&apls Thanks a lot Art for this tower : After all, Paris isn't made only with Hausmanian W2W buildings.
I write a little comment on the LEX when I discover this new gem you've made.
Since I didn't saw it coming, I 'm wondering if you plan to give this special building some little brothers (tour Totem, Beaugrenelle mall or tour Cristal or others) based on the same slab concept ?
I do plan some other towers for the slab: Totem, Citee des langues, Panorama, The cheminee, Defense 2000 (La Defense), Les Poissons (Puteaux) and Creteil City Hall.
Creteil City Hall.
:D :D :D I spend my youth on the lake in front of it in a 420 sailing dinghy. It is a very nice building indeed.
I believe Defense 2000 has been made already by a mysterious builder call Royal Game... $%#Ninj2
:) I work nearby so I get to see it everyday. It's a very nice building inside and out. Gotta say walking around the lake in the summer during the lunch break is a nice luxury to have. Even if Defense 2000 was already made, I'd still do my own version so it fits my plan. ;) A picture I took of the City Hall few years ago (https://www.flickr.com/photos/145935127@N08/48301799671/in/album-72157709688678641/)
Thanks to Tibi for pointing this out: Turns out Novotel's lot is CAM stage 10. which means you need the CAM in order for it to grow. I will add a separate non CAM lot soon.
Here are some ingame pictures of Tampere station. It should be ready for upload very soon.
There are two lots: 7x1 with the main building and platform as props overhanging on the rail lines (7.5m) and a 1x1 pavement lot to put on the slope on the right building (under the tunnel entrance)
I still have no idea what to make for the back entrance building, but I will figure out something.... If you guys have any idea, feel free to post them.

Started working on the second station building for Tampere..... Which isn't from Tampere at all. $%Grinno$%
As usual inspired by a real building with heavy artistic liberties.
Should I release it as a separate upload or with Tampere Station?

Little update, Been busy doing other things So I wasn't always BATing it.

Thanks for the likes!
Here are two more render of the progress. The textures might change again. The blue plane at the back is where the mosaic will go. If anyone has a good picture of it I can trace it would be greatly appreciated.

What a brillant BAT this is going to be. You chose a wonderfully designed station and your work is just as wonderful. Really looking forward to this one! If I may ask for one thing then it would be that you don't put the station's name on the roof so that it stays neutral.
I haven't touched the BAT in a few months mostly was busy with other games..
Small progress. I've added the furniture inside the café on the inside terrace. Still lots to do, mostly texturing and lighting. I do plan to have this one finished soon(ish).

Sometimes it's better to model the interior instead of relying on emissive maps (Especially when I don't have any ()sad())
By the way, are you using Classic/Raytraced?
I am selecting Classic/raytraced before any render I do. But sometime I feel like it doesn't take that into account. Is there a way to force it automatically?
Small update, added some lights. On the modeling side I only have left to put the roof junk and some props inside the hall as well as people for the day and night view. Should be ready this week-end I think.

Amazing work Arthur &apls &apls &apls
Your texture work is better and better ;)
Wow. I'm surprised by the name, but this is some really beautiful building. I've been at Eindhoven central a few years ago, when I was travelling from Amsterdam to Budapest and I chose to go by train from Amsterdam to Eindhoven, then I flew from Eindhoven airport to Budapest. I didn't pay much attention to the station back then. Now quickly checking it in google maps, your versions is like thousand times more beautiful than the real one! Really amazing work, Art!
Thanks for it! :)

Way to go! &apls &apls &apls &apls
Wow, these buildings are to the brim full with elegant mid century styling. A shame that the Tampere Station doesn´t seem to have that wavy artwork on the facade anymore.
I'm a bite late here but Thank you very much for these last 2 plugins !
They are gorgeous and The Eindhoven Station instantly became one of my favorite buildings for all time ! &apls &apls &apls
Thanks guys. :)
IMPORTANT UPDATE!
I've updated the downloads of both Tampere and Eindhoven with new lots. Special thanks to Tibi (Tyberius06) for updating them with proper transit modding! (updated NAM and MTA transit switches.)
Tampere station is now a 6x2 lot with proper parameters so it sits at the bottom of the embankment.
Eindhoven is now a 5x1 lot and lost the transit-enable for the street on the side.
Please if you use them delete the current lot, download the new one and replace them in your plugins!
Well.. Sorry for not posting any updates recently, haven't been feeling like BATing...
I've started my next project, which is still an old building I tried to make when I discovered BATing... Though it was very different back then. It's inspired by a building at the angle of Rue de Chatillon and Avenue Jean Moulin in Paris 14th Arrondissement. I used to walk by this one everyday going to school..
Obviously still a very big WIP.
Haven't felt like BATing recently but here is some progress I did today:
It looks promising
Thanks mate. :)
Have been busy BATing this week, made some good progress on the building. The roof was a pain to make. I shall now only stick to simple roofs.
Still need to carve out the window on the last floor and add all the details..
It looks really nice Arthur ! Can't wait to see the textures.
Thanks for the likes and stuff. I haven't done any BAT as much as I would like to have but I got sidetracked... again. I will try to finish this one this summer.
So I've made some modification on the building. I thought the left side at the back was too monolithic so I've removed 2 stories and added some terraces.
Some more progress on the building. I've started putting furniture on the balconies. (Not finished ofc)
Thanks for the feedback guys. Here's another render of the building. Still not done putting furniture on the balconies but it's getting along fine.
I tried some texturing. I have to say I actually like the roof texture like that.
You get the four angles today.
I should be able to export it this week. Still have to model the shop's shelves and do the Lightning and LODs.
Wow, Art, this is a freaking awesome and beautifully detailed model. All those sunbeds and chairs and other furnitures are really giving it a nice touch. Beautiful stuff!
- Tyberius
Okay I have two questions.
1) If I have a SC4Model file in which all the FSH files are good, but the S3D are bad (for some reason SC4BAT rendered the LOD in 1x1x1 instead of the good size) and a second file, freshly rendered from SC4BAT (so no FSH) and this time the correct size for the S3D.
Is there any way to somehow combine these two files so that I can avoid re-rendering the model?
2) In the PIM-X how can I elevate props? If I try to do it like in the SC4Lot Editor, Ctrl arrows up, the PIMX Lot editor basically crashes.
Alright guys, here is it. Do you think the default PIM-X values are adequate?
4x4 with a diagonal overhang on the right
R$$
Euro Tileset
Stage 7 (default PIM-X value)
1286 residents (default PIM-X value)

Hi Art!
Oh wow, these ingame images are awesome. I didn't realize that ortho-diag turn on the render images, but ingame that's a pretty cool set-up. This is really beautiful!
The building has been released. :satisfied:

Started working on my next BAT.
These are the Harbour Village I and II residential towers from Rotterdam, NL.
Basic shape of the base is done. I think I will finish the base first and then start the towers.
Some years ago I posted a picture of cars I've rendered in the game as props. After listening to the comments and talking to other creators, it made me acknowledge the cars were under-scaled.
After almost two months of work, starting on the 27th December 2022, I've re-rendered all the cars and more.
In this pack, you will find 719 different cars coming in two angles, 90 and 45. That's 1438 props. It's a lot so feel free to use whichever you want. They also feature night lights. (except some race cars)
These cars are made firstly for my use, and since my region is based on pre-2000, all the cars are the same. From the start of the 20th century to 1999.
They come in a variety of different type, from road cars to concepts and race cars. Full list in this post.
You can download them on the LEX here: Link coming
Here are some pictures showing all the cars. (The pictures are heavy so give them time to load)

Disclaimer: I did not model the cars. Apart from a few modification here and there.
I converted and imported them into 3dsmax, textured and rendered them for SC4. They mostly come from Assetto Corsa mods and Sketchup's 3D Warehouse. All credits goes to the original creators.
Since I am not making money out of this, I'd say it's fair play to use them.
And with that done, back to the other BATs
Amazing! Thank you!
Thanks Art for sharing these amazing props! Beautiful collection, great work! &apls &apls &apls

------------
I was going through my plugin folder, deleting stuff to downsize my plugins in preparation for my final region/city and stumbled upon these aircraft related props that I forgot I rendered for the airport/air base project.
Since I will not be pursuing this project anymore I decided to get rid of them.
Instead of deleting I thought I'd upload these for the community to use.
Before getting to the pictures here's what we have:
Instrument Landing system props, some are based on JENX/Xannepan originals on the LEX
90s era airplanes
JSDF aircraft and vehicles
a diagonal tram stop I modeled for Noahclem. Unfortunately the rest of the stops are lost.
Please note that these props are given as is. I am aware there are rendering issues but I will not fix them. I do not have the models anymore. If you don't like them, don't use them. simple as.
Also I did not model most of these. All of the planes and vehicles come from the sketchup 3D warehouse. Except the tram stop, that's mine.

Wow! Nice airport stuffs!
